A good college very adept at churning out undergraduates and graduate research. One of the administration's best tricks is to hire hundreds of redundant staff to check emails about why their service originally intended to automate their job isn't working and then charge semi-willing participants; (students) tens of thousands of dollars they couldn't pay back in three lifetimes.

Absolutely beautiful campus. Time well spent if you are in the area. The grounds and architecture are great. Great walk to be found at Horsebarn Hill. View at the top is amazing anytime of year. Stop and get the ABSOLUTE BEST ice cream at the UConn Dairy Bar. Great shows at the Jorgensen. Check out exhibits at the Benton.

I spent a wayward semester here as a freshman a few decades ago, then returned to earn my MA and PhD. Between then and now, it's become less of a party school, which is probably just as well. And, although Storrs is in the middle of nowhere compared to the big city New England schools, it's a nice place to live with hardly any traffic; beautiful scenery; great performances at the two theaters on campus; music, art, and puppetry; and the occasional visit from a groundhog or a rabbit. The student body is relatively diverse, with many students from China, India, Turkey, and other countries. Even if you're not a student, it's a great place to go for a stroll on a nice day. Academically, there's just about anything you could ask for (even a class in Old English, periodically!), and you can receive a top-notch education if you pursue it. Last but not least, UConn has the best women's basketball team in the world!
