The ER staff understood my condition and took care of me immediately. Every department including X-Ray, Cardiology and even student nurses were kind and caring and took the time to listen to my concerns and address them.
This hospital has the rudest workers here , their service sucks they have people waiting for hours to get checked out .
Theres also a lady named becky that works at the radiology department registration that is the rudest person to even face here in the hospital . She doesnt like doing her job , she also keeps us patients waiting for hours , she likes to lie and say she done her job when she actually hasnt .
Dr. Elizabeth in olive view hospital ( 5th floor / pulmonology department) is the top notch .

It's a County Hospital... overcrowded with long waits. But the staff is caring and professional. However, they need to take note not to hand out flyers for post care that are out of date and wrong. Mid-Valley Comprehensive Health Care doesn't even have a Dental Clinic. MEND is not accepting new patients. This is not the first time I've received bad information from them.
It was bad for me because of back pain that I could not even sit down I could not walk I told the doctor and the asshole told me that if I did not have a fever that is fine I would die of the pain

Extremely disappointed and disgusted at this hospital. Poor medical care. Do not go there inpatient if you are diabetic. They have no clue what they are doing. When I asked for a school note for my daughter because she had been there for 6 days, their reply was the Dr. Don't give Dr. Excuses and they were too busy. That I needed to speak to a Social Worker. There was no aftercare plan for my daughter, and I was handed her prescription without any explanation. I was told to sign papers before I could even read what I was signing. Pitiful excuse for a hospital.

The staff here is AMAZING! from the Dr's to the nurses to the security everyone treated me wonderful. I was sent here from Av hospital who did nothing to help me. But thankfully I came here and found Angels. They gave me options for surgery.I was well informed about everything. I even got called at home to see how my recovery was going. Absolutely amazing. I will be eternally grateful with the staff here at Olive View. I wish I could name all the staff. you're all just amazing ppl who really care about patients well being. THANKYOU ANGELS.

The worst hospital ever. They don't even care when patient's BP is over 200/120, no priority no life threatening emergency. Long story short this is not a hospital but trash- my mom went there with hand injury and came back with stroke risk

I said this because I experienced for 4 hours a stupid man in hes late 20s next to me talking loud and talking offensive, and perversive with the female stuff.....that it's not a acceptable at all,not with the (er)staff that all they've done is helping people,trying the best of them to help others needs.
Horrible place I waited five hours to get help to find relief in my leg and no other people with less problems are getting admitted almost all the staff that I met with have a idgaf attitude. I left cause they are pretty useless. At least some fake decency would ve been good.
The staff is very slow, but when you have a fixed doctor it is very good service.
The dedicated nursing staff work long hours with shortages, sometimes under adverse conditions. They are there because it's WHO they are.
As someone who works in the medical field, I know whereof I speak. No more cuts to our public facilities. They need funding more than ever now. Keep fighting the good fight everyone :-)

This is an excellent hospital! The Doctors, especially the main one I deal with, and the Nurses and ALL the staff, just excellent! I can say because they have been working with me for a couple of years now. I literally have no complaints and am only grateful!
I had been waited for 5 hours to pick up pharmacy however I had an awful asthma and I told them I can't hear they called my name and I asked them why took so long hours that so terrible lousy services. I never go back for pharmacy are so lousy and unprofessional.
allowed a adult 26yr mental patient with cognitive function of 9 year old and bi-polar to walk out the door onto the street without telling conservator parents in violation of court order.
The emergency room staff were awesome . They have a family of dr. and nurses to take care of your needs . My favorite was Dr Yee I felt like he really cared without setting judgement on my pain.
I got the best care and everybody was very friendly knowledgeable and professional the Doctors,Nurses,CNA, phlebotomist, housekeeping food delivery staff ohh they are all wonderful and God Sent. I got the best care from the emergency room up to the med surg ward. I had a comfortable stay and healed in two weeks. Thank You Very Much Olive View.

A friend of mine called me today from the psych ward at Olive view medical center.
She told me where she was and that she wanted me to take her home.
I made it there as soon as I could.
I explained to the nurse in charge that it was traumatic for my friend to have to stay there until Monday. That I had known her for a year and a half and I wanted at least to be able to talk to her on the phone to comfort her, and let her know that she s not alone,
The head nurse told me that if I didn t leave, she would have me arrested.
I was so puzzled at that extreme, unnecessary, and in humane escalation.
The police are called when there is some danger posed to someone that is not under control.
I struggled to understand why my concern for my friend could in any way be interpreted as any form of threat to anyone.
I spent the rest of the day talking to staff in the hospital trying to find any administration that could help me contact my friend.
All administrators were off for the weekend.
I left messages on three different machine s belonging to the administrators I found.
Almost everyone at the hospital kept repeating the same phrase to me when I asked them to help:
They all kept saying:
If I help you
I ll get myself into trouble
I understood why they would all say that,
When I realized how scared I was
Being told I would get arrested
Just for showing concern for my friend.
And I also realized why my friend was so traumatized from being there.
A hospital is ideally a place of healing.
Healing doesn t take place when it s implemented and motivated by fear.
Healing happens through love.
My friend was telling me that she feels like she s in prison.
At the very list I just wanted to be able to talk to her on the phone and let her know that she s not alone and that I do care about her.
If the response to this request from the nurse in charge is:
If you don t leave I ll have you arrested
And everyone else I ask says:
If I help I ll get into trouble
Then it seems that the culture here at the hospital is that of oppression abuse and fear.
I kept looking and asking for someone of authority here that could show a little sympathy for my situation.
I was told there were no administrators there because it was a weekend.
The phone numbers I was given were not responding but they did take messages that I am still awaiting responses to.
I m not leaving this review out of spite.
It s just a way for me to communicate something that s wrong.
I will certainly change my review to reflect any positive changes that I see.
If something isn t right,
Then it s wrong.

I have been coming here for a couple of years now but I am seriously having second thoughts. I recently had surgery the Drs did a good job I should say but the after care by rest of staff wasn't the best.
The food was an absolute disaster. I have never eaten hospital food that bad and for a recovering patient food is essential!
The cafeteria food was literally better!
I will commend some of the Drs however for loving their job and doing well .some nurses too. But over all there is a great room for improvement!
I had an ultrasound done there and she was completely rude the whole time. Barely said a word the whole time to me. Had an attitude whenever I asked a question, my husband tried to lighten up the mood and made a small joke about something and she never said a word or even cracked a smile. Way too serious and super bitchy. Wouldn't give us any pictures. Said she couldn't get a picture of her profile. That's fine but what about all the other pictures she took? I would have loved the picture that said "It's a girl!" Or the picture of her cute feet and hands. Nope. Wouldn't give me a picture. I was debating on having my baby at that hospital or Holy Cross and that completely turned me away. Definitely will be having my baby at Holy Cross where there are friendly staff. This was suppose to be a time of enjoyment. Seeing your baby is a precious thing and they're only in your belly once and she ruined the experience for us. She acted like she hated her job. She should consider another career if she's going to act miserable.
Went 2nd time for ecv attempt and I came out scratched and it doesn t take a lot of people to do it , watched a couple videos on YouTube and it only takes one person . Was planning on delivering here but I most definitely changed my mind .

That is, i did get sicker when i was there.
All of these "you'll wait forever" reviews almost scared me off. But as someone who has been laid off and has no coverage, I was prepared to sit in the ER for hours. I brought books, notebook and web enabled phone.
They checked me out right away. Discovered that what I thought was simple pneumonia was actually congestive heart failure. The speed with which they reacted to this development/condition was on par with some of the best hospitals I've been to. Better yet, because I have no coverage, they didn't have to wait to get approval from an HMO for testing.
I would recommend them to anyone with an emergency.
I operated on my right foot and they took good care of me and referred me to physical therapy and they are always looking after me.
I had a hysterectomy, here, last August (2012), and the entire surgery team were amazing great to me and WITH me. I left the next day, and have NOTHING but praise for my entire surgery team.

This hospital has the worst emergency room ever. They make you wait over 6 hours just to see a doctor. They didn't care one bit about any patients and would give attitude if you start asking why is it taking so long. So ridiculous how this place makes people in need wait that long it's called an EMERGENCY room for a reason. If I wanted to wait that long I would of just gone to urgent care. Never going back here and I recommend people not to ever go there. They won't take care of you and just want your money you are better off going to holy Cross or Kaiser or just doing self treatments. Cause this hospital does not care if you die.
The cardiology Department is run very well, but overall this hospital has horrible staff and care. The priority of the patients should come first, but it always feels as if they couldn't care how much pain a person is in. All they see are dollar signs.
More tests + more pointless procedures = more funding.
I hope no one ever needs an emergency appointment at this clinic. Our apportionment got postponed for over 5 months. No one called when the ENT clinic decided to switch our appointment 2 months back. My husband has chronic sinius infection and we are stuck with no medical attention. Very unprofessional. This is not a way to treat a patient who needs potential surgery.

My roommate went here upon a referral
From Planned Parenthood to try and see an OBG. She doesn t have insurance and after a brief visit with the Doctor and being told she can t get in to see an OBG, They said they d have to put a referral in. (Which when she checked back up on, they said they can t do anything). She had a brief talk with the doctor during her stay. That is all. She got a bill for $2200 that simply said new charges . When she called the said they couldn t give an itemized bill. Long story short, they dropped it to $90 by signing her up for a plan to use their urgent care again but said that $2200 is the standard visit cost. Also when she asked if she could pay when she left. They said no. And no one told her the cost of a visit when she got there. Don t go here. They will absolutely try and rip you off. She left with no help and a $2200 bill.
It such a shame,that nurses spent so much time and effort in nursing school ,to graduate and took a oath,and dont live ip to it,the saddest moment of my life , to see my niece got thrown out of a emergency room after given pain medication. She had sickle cell crisis went into ER,could walk because of severe pain in her joints.the so called nurse start an IV drew her blood ask for a urine sample,and left them in the room,after 3hrs she came back in the room and told her to leave,she asked why ?the nurse got angry started packing her belongings and told her ,other patients need the room,she told her she cannot walk,the Male nurse RN,also was angry, he snatched the paper from her ,told her she didnt need to sign the discharged paper,she asked for a wheel chair,the doctor came and told her."your pain will not go away".my son picked her up at 11pm physical carried her inside the house.i had to call 911 they took her to another hospital where she's still hospitalized with and hemoglobin 5,as a nurse a asked God my creator please dont let me be this wicked to anyone.you nurses are a disgrace.i could not believe my eyes ,I thought it was a horrible dream ,but everytime I look at my niece laying in that hospital bed ,IRealized its reality.i just cannot say anymore."the seed you sow,that shall you reap".
Horrible service I've been waiting for more than 6 hours here in the emergency area, the nurse does not tell me anything about the results, also the barracks are frozen, the staff keeps judging their patients, they give you sheets to sign without read it.
Hopefully they change the service, because the patients are with chronic and cold pain, desperate waiting for an answer, hopefully they investigate the dealings of the personnel with the patients.

Don't let the exterior fool you, this hospital is a top notch with faculty that is high caliber with professorship at UCLA. They serve uninsured and insured alike and treat everyone with respect and kindness regardless of their ability to pay. This hospital supersedes all other community hospitals in the region.
The staff seemed to care and spent a good amount of time with me. There was one Indian nurse who was especially talkative and we had a nice conversation. Overall, I had a good experience and I would definitely recommend it over some other hospitals.
Ok. The emergency wait is too long. But i have had the the best experience ever. I wanna thank all the stuff in clinic D who took care of me while pregnant. All the nurses and the doctors in labor department, they were like family so kind so helpful.
And now im in clinic M and again best stuff ever, always greeting with smiles . My 3 kids go there . My big daughter she is 3 and is unkike other kids . She goes to the clinic happily whenever she hurts herself she asks me to take her to dr. Amy. Her ped. One of a kind dr. My daughter had fobia of doctors and ckinics and now she is ok bcz of her ped. Dr amy is like a friend or big sister to her . The way she approaches to the kids is woww . I would drive to the end of the world to get my kids go to her if one day she quits her job there.

This hospital literally saved my life. I had a severe migraine where I could not get relief for the past 2 months and a half. I was later diagnosed with post covid syndrome and experiencing severe migraines for the first time. Dr.So in urgent care was my angel in disguise. She listened to my symptoms and helped me treat the pain and referred me to a neurologist. I was crying myself to sleep from so much pain and later came back and had a migraine cocktail in the ER to treat the migraine. My headaches were extremely painful and I could not drive or see sunlight at all without experiencing pain. Dr.So helped me improve my quality of life and I am still currently being treated for my headaches but I am forever grateful to how professional and caring she was for me and how she listened to me explain my symptoms, giving me the proper treatment.

The physician was decent. The emergency department though is absolutely filthy and unsanitary. I was in a communal area. They had two bathrooms near me and one is full of feces and the other one had feces on the floor. They did not soap in the particular bathroom either. Much of the staff is extremely dismissive and very hard to communicate with.
A patient complained but it took hours for the janitors to show up to clean. Why would any one want to go to a hospital managed by LA county in the first place if they have a choice?

After having just been released from another hospital and having complications from surgery they don't take that as a priority i've been waiting in the waiting room for 5 hours and watching every person in the waiting room be taken back to god-knows-where but yet my name has yet to be called it's the worst experience i've ever had.

This hospital makes me sick. The nurse at the counter sent me down the street knowing I have an epelepsy problem. When I returned to the hospital same day they said it was an error on there part it was over looked. How is this possible when the first person you see types in the check in condition I've been here for six hours. Don't go here period they think there better than you. They neglect the patients and they demorilize you. I asked to talk to the charge and was reffered to talk to the supervisor ahha if I wanted to talk to the bag boy I would have said so.
