When I was in after 6 yrs I had to go to school in USA.
When I was in after 6 yrs I had to go to school in USA.
I wish an officer there would be also refused somewhere to cancel the vacation.
Like they didn t find me reliable because I did immigrate to Italy 3 years ago, and no properties or something can bound me here in their opinion. They proposed me to wait at least ten years. Seriously?
Compiled Application online on 10.12.19, appointment to the 01/09/20. 13/1 Today it's passport with a visa by courier.
My passport was stolen while I was visiting Italy. I was referred to the US Consulate General in Milan. The security guards were friendly and most helpful. The consulate staff were also very friendly and very helpful. Obtaining an emergency passport to return to the US was a painless experience given the professionalism and the courtesy of all parties at the consulate.
Very efficient and very kind, I needed an emergency visa and they saved my trip. Thank you!
REALLY BAD, WE NEED A VISA FOR MY GIRL (ROMANIAN) TO GO TO NEW YORK IN AUGUST, WE BOOK THE APPOINTMENT ON THE INTERNET, PAYING THE REQUESTED TAX (150 EURO BUT), AND MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS, AT THE APPOINTMENT IN AN EMBASSY WITH EVERYTHING (RENTAL CONTRACT LENDED TO MY GIRL, UNLIMITED-TERM CONTRACTS OF BOTH, ENOUGH ENVIRONMENTALLY ENVELOPE BAGS, ACCOUNT EXTRACTS AND HOTELS IN WHICH WE HAVE BOOKED). THE TYPE YOU DO? TAKES THE PASSPORT LOOKS AT IT AND SAYS TO MY GIRL THAT IT IS NOT SUITABLE TO ENTER THE USA, WITHOUT GIVING A MINIMUM LOOK AT THE DOCUMENTS, AND ISSUING US A SHEET WITH WRITING THAT YOU DID NOT HAVE REASON TO STAY IN ITALY THEREFORE IT COULD BE THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE LIVE, WHAT MUST YOU DO MORE TO HAVE A VISA? IT IS JUST TRUE THAT WHEN YOU TRY TO DO THINGS FOR GOOD, YOU ALWAYS FIND YOURSELF IN FRONT OF A WALL. AND EVERYTHING A SYSTEM TO STEAL 150 EURO PER PERSON, THIEVES!
Precise, kind employees, in a short time they did everything
Very good and welcoming :)
From the military to the internal staff ... really, congratulations!
We needed to set an appointment for Wedding documents, and the Consulate never opened the online agenda until a couple of weeks prior to the wedding date. At that time they had changed their schedule with no notice. Also, they refused to send the signature to the prefect's office as per Italian law. Basically, poor service and ridicuolus procedures. AVOID!!
I needed an urgent J1 visa and in one day they handed it to me. Very nice and helpful staff. Security guys are very nice!
Low rating for the website and the TELEPHONE SERVICE, they do not give exhaustive information. I had to make 2 stopovers in the USA and it was not clear if the T1 TRANSIT VISA is a Single or Multiple entry. To remove any doubts, I made 2 T1 visa applications. I then discovered that I paid double unnecessarily as the embassy, based on your single request, then decides whether to issue you a T1 S / M visa or a B1 / B2 TOURIST VISA directly.
The queue to enter the embassy is LONG and they allow 6 people to enter at a time. I RECOMMEND to arrive first They did NOT look at the DOCUMENTS I had brought, but strangely they wanted my CURRICULUM (which of course I didn't have!).
The VISA DELIVERY TIME is NOT like the one indicated on the website and after ONE MONTH AND A HALF I received a B1 / B2 TOURIST visa. Too late for my planned trip, but at least I'll need it for future trips to the US. Therefore I strongly RECOMMEND to apply for a visa with AT LEAST 2-3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE.
THE final VOTE is still GOOD as:
- if DOCUMENTS ARE MISSING during the interview, you can send them later by e-mail (of course this requires an extension of the visa issuing timeframe!).
- I am ALWAYS FRIENDLY and I respond to your requests for information (both during the interview and by email!).
- Also, during the visa process, I was able to request my passport back and return it later when the visa is ready for printing. On this front, they are VERY AVAILABLE.
I requested the X visa for the honeymoon, since I am Romanian, they asked me if I have properties in Italy, they asked me why I do not have a substantial current account ... to keep in mind that the account is co-registered with my future husband ( who is Italian and to whom nothing is asked and the Establishment is given to him) ... in the end they told me that I do not have enough elements to motivate me to return to Italy (where I have lived for 17 years with my younger son) the visa is rejected. Now that I have lost the money X the tax of 144 that I paid for the visa, I have lost half a day of work and I will have to pay a penalty X for the cancellation of the honeymoon (also because X can prove why I go to America X 12 days I had to book and have the documentation with me). Therefore, my conclusion is that you must have a lot of money on your current account X to go to America if you are Romanian
A perfect place, super nice, friendly staff they help you and put you at your home. The only flaw is the wait outside the building (more than 2/3 hours), as soon as I entered I noticed a very nice view over all of Milan (pity that you cannot bring any device that transmits GPS otherwise I would take photos), 10/15 min have passed and 10-year visa approved.
The online staff is really unfriendly and unprofessional
Never done a visa without document check then your questions then you say! refused he gets so American!
They are all very kind, never seen kindness in the embassies.
only with courier dhl any kind of communication with them
Deserve a few !!! more !!! especially for the professionalism and kindness, it is amazing how well the whole consulate works, congratulations because you are really doing the good job Some stars also for Super kind and nice military !!! Before my interview I had read too many negative reviews "my advice: go quiet and stay calm if you are ok with documents there is nothing to fear"
Shameful. In the middle of January with a winter cold, 30 minutes in advance of the appointment, a row of more than an hour and a half outside, immobile in the middle of the frost. Called to the call center for information on the D-160 module they answer that they do not deal with it and that they do not know anything, not even the visa department. You have to write an email with the question to which they answer that if the topic is already dealt with on their site they will not even answer. Weeks to get feedback via email because apparently there is no call center for information related to the various need to fill out the forms. But if by chance the form is filled out badly at the time of the appointment, even if you come from who knows where to get your visa you are sent back to fill out a new form. EMBARRASSING
Asked about M1 student visa, they answered immediately in detail. Really good
This review if entirely based on my experience. So, I am an Indian doing masters of science at Polimi and had applied for US visa to visit my brother. When i was in the queue, the security guy came and of all he just asked my passport (I assume its because i was not white) i do agree that its good to clear the doubts but in that case some times a bit cautions should be taken, he could just have asked one or two more people along with me that would may have avoided the obvious racial treatment. If this was not enough, while entering the front door, there was an another guy who started giving me instructions in Italian i requested him to please speak english so that i could understand , he did but he spoke something that was beyond understanding . When he entered there is an another guy (he was nice though) near the x ray thing he asked me to give jacket and bag so i did and since on airport you need to give wallets he offered that and the moment i took my wallet the same guy who had given the instructions started yelling at me as if he is gonna shoot me . I seriously do not understand what made me yell. But in any case racism is everywhere so could not complain but my sincere advice apply to this consulate only if you are from here ....
NO service, they don't receive calls almost don't answer email and don't provide help with documents. There is a computer for documents available for use of documents but they cannot help you to use the link where the documents are.
Was closed when we went, but Italian military that were guarding it were really friendly to my kids
Excellent experience for a replacement passport if you're prepared and show up early. I arrived just before 8:30 and was fifth in line, and I was out with my temp passport before 10. The security guards and consulate staff were friendly and they seem to understand that their customers are usually in dire straits, and everyone was pleasant to deal with.
The system of appointments for visas is badly organized, the queue leaves from outside the consulate because they allow few people to enter at a time. Also, the staff who perform the security checks are extremely rude and rude.
Once you enter the situation changes. The consular employees are very kind and fast, in about ten minutes I went through the process of obtaining a visa.
When the consulate is closed, please visualize the times during which one CAN call.
A lot of kindness and professionalism.
They welcome you as soon as you arrive in front of the Embassy, giving you help with the necessary documents to bring in and they take you directly to the consular office. You don't feel lost.
The soldiers at the entrance are very nice!
There is a bit of a queue outside waiting to be received. However under a shelter that shelters from bad weather
Staff really very kind. From the military to the staff inside. Consulate very professional serious and kind as all the staff. Since I am Romanian I was expecting the refusal instead of the accepted visa. Even I would have denied the visa for 5 stars.
I might have gotten a bit too used to dealing with Italian public officials but I found the whole experience here fast, efficient, and staff was very helpful and friendly. Got everything done in just 30 minutes.
The worse service I've received in my life time. When you are in need they American consulate should make you feel safe, Valued and well taken care of. Instead all four of the Italian that worked there were rude unfriendly and not willing to help. Waste of time to even try.
The process is pretty easy and clear, you just have to read the rules before the visit. If you can read and understood the guides - there is no problem.
I came at 8 and at 9.30 went out - pretty much time, from one hand they could work faster; but from other hand they received more than 30 applications during that 1.30 hours. My number was #8, so it takes ~ 11 min per person to interview.
Nobody answers the phone except a very long interactive answering machine.
After a long wait, the call is transferred to another number, answered by real, but hasty and far from well-disposed people.
Horrible services. No one answers the phone to get through to a human being to get assistance about the driving laws in this country and what I need to get to do so. Frustration, long-winded recordings that tell you gazillion of options that don't address my issue and no one to speak with. What are these people being paid for - just to sit on their rear w/arrogance and think the world owes them something? This entire office should be shut down and restructured. It is of NO HELP at all to Americans.
Excellent organization, all as expected. advice: you cannot enter the consulate with your bag, not even the laptop one (documents only), I had to leave it at the nearby bar for 5
Courteous, kind and profesionisti.e It was easier to obtain the visa for america than to find again the permesa for studies here in Italy.
For the second time I had applied for a visa and both refused for reasons that I did not have enough documents to tell them! Obviously he did not even look at my documents as he knew! Even if you're up to date with all the documents, they do not even shit you! They're razists looking at you in the face and they're sending you away! Years of preparation of documents and everything else for 10min of coloquio! I just wanted to see my nephews and my family! I understood that going to ask visa is luckily not all the documents you have .. since it does not even look at them! Because then publishes all the necessary requirements on the sitt!
Kindness and maximum availability ... without words .... tank you.
Unable to have specific information on a visa, refer you to a computer that only gives generic information, the visa office is not open to the public, the information I need is related to a recent unclear regulation on the site ... not it seems to me a great service.
A shame!!! Really RACIST staff never seen anything like this, I am Cuban as soon as they saw me without even looking at my documents they laughed in my face 3 questions assured that I have a family in America according to them when it is not true and therefore denied. I asked her to see my documents that I have traveled all over Europe that I have done 3 cruises and that I only want to go on a cruise in the Caribbean with my husband, an Italian citizen. Answer I am not interested. Lost the money from the visa, travel and work day for nothing. Council no pay nothing no they deserve not even a penny they are rude racists. The military, on the other hand, are very polite but the staff inside are too bad.
A lot of security to enter the consulate of a free country
Very kind and attentive. There was a bit of a wait at the entrance so I recommend arriving earlier if you want to enter at the meeting time, otherwise wait your turn. Better not to bring bags or backpacks otherwise you will have to deposit them in the neighboring bar.
I would like to tell you about my experience, leaving aside that they do not even deserve a star, I had an appointment at 10, I had an interview at 12 where an olive-colored girl asks me 3 things: If I have family in Italy? Obviously yes I have my parents and my boyfriend who is Italian, he has lived in Italy for 11 years. Then he asks me if I have visited other countries? Obviously, if I work, I love my job here in Italy. They refused me a visa because in their opinion I don't have enough motivation to go back to Italy. There is madness plus I paid 130 euros this visa is what for a card that tells me we are sorry. I don't find it correct !!
Friendly, concise, and efficient. The Milan based American embassy was there for me and my family when we needed it. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you.
I showed up for my visa. The queue is external and whoever arrives first is better! In the sense that even if you meet at 10 but arrive at 8, they still make you. I have never seen such kindness and professionalism! Satisfied with this consulate!
good evening, I need to know how my daughter can do the medical check for her interview in the embassy.
So 0 stars does not deserve more.
It is not taste however, for the first time as a consultant of the United States in Milan seen denied.
To visit my son who hasn't seen him for 7 years.
Born a grandson almost 2 years never seen.
I am a Moldova for 13 years in Italy all regular I have a job, I have a home in my name, they are owners of a plant company.
I have all the proof of going back to Italy, in the United States I was just going to see my son and see the culture a little.
In short, make my vacation for 3 weeks.
But unfortunately laughing in the face, not even looking at a paper seen denied a shame.
Very kind people. From the military there in front of the staff inside, all very kind polite. All the procedure fast enough. Kind and professional consule. Approved visa underwent.
Got there right when they open and got out before 10:30. The three ladies and one guy behind the window there were fabulous. Super helpful and beautiful attitude. Even the Italian gate guards were great. Very jovial group out front. Thank you all.
0 Stars. Romanian town that has been living and working in Italy for 15 years, with all the documents presented and in order, nothing missing, visa denied to go to my sister who lives in Minneapolis and whom I have not seen for 13 years, just because I have parents from two years in California, SHAME! ! ! I bet if I had to go to the funeral of my own me they would have denied it anyway. Answer: "Ask the parents the question for family reunification, otherwise they can not enter America". What is impossible, because my citizens do not have citizenship. And I'm married to a son, so by law they could not even apply! People who work there to heat up the office workstations! What a disappointment, a shame, a disgusting! Animaliii ...
I asked for information via email. They replied promptly (within the day) and resolutely.
Bad people! They didn t give my mother the visa to come in the USA for 2 months to see her granddaughter and to be close to me when I ll give birth to the second child! The visa officer wasn t convinced by her intentions, and my mom showed her work contract and she s very legal in This country like I am in America and that means she has strong ties to Italy! I don t know what other proofs they want! It s the biggest disappointment of my life!
Access with many security protocols and you can't use your phone ...
For the rest, clean and professional and friendly staff.
Bad. I called for a very serious thing, that is to receive information on the procedure for reporting the disappearance of a friend of mine in the United States, they liquidated me without giving me any information, with a lack of professionalism, truly chilling coldness.
Most frustrating experience ever to book an appointment. It's impossible to see the open appointment schedule without paying. Appointment service cannot or will not provide much information to help, although the people are kind. A very few easy changes would make life easier for everyone involved.
after refusal of a criminal record, I applied for a visa. I provided them with a copy of the sentence of 15 years ago, current account, working collaboration with a company .... yet the visa was denied me for "lack of strong ties with one's country". in a nutshell are they afraid of me being illegal? absurd!!!!!!! I had booked a week's holiday !!!!!!!!!!!
and when I asked for more information by e-mail they didn't answer me! I understand check but this is absurd !!!!!!!
let's see if they will give me at least an exhaustive answer. but I don't think so
for the info on a visa I had to ask for assistance to an agency in Milan was called dynamic and they gave me an appointment for visa in 4 days fortunately very good
I think everyone working here was previously employed by Poste Italiane; The Italian staff in the consular services area for American citizens are rude, dismissive, and incompetent. I went to have a document notarized, but I was treated like I was wasting their time, and they refused answer any of my questions. on top of this, they made me sign my name on the wrong place on the document, because they couldn't read it, and didn't want to hear my question. All this for 45 USD, for something that cost usually 15 in the states. They should have to spend some time learning American customer service.
