The staff at USATC helped give me my "life" back. I've been involved in competitive swimming, kayak racing, and surfing my whole life, and completely blew out my shoulder in an accident. After surgery with one of the best doctors in NYC, I knew that it was going to be a long road back. My arm was virtually useless. I went to conventional PT but had pretty much lost hope. Through a friend, I met Mary and Gary. Gary was dedicated to getting me back. After about 6 months, I'm back to swimming 2-3 hours a day. What more could I say? Thank you!!!!

The US Athletic Training Center gave me an experience I've never had at another physical therapy facility. Getting the opportunity to be somewhere that has both dedicated therapists as well as athletic trainers is truly unique. I've been to top gyms, that give you minimal training oversight unless you pay an hourly rate for advice. I've been to top physical therapists (mainly for Neck & Back) that have put me in a backroom and made me feel like I'm waiting for surgery. At USATC, you benefit from high-level trainers that can help you in the gym, giving you pointers on how to get the most out of your workouts. You also get to be around other impressive athletes, and you can pick up great new work outs and techniques from them. On the Physical Therapy side, you have the benefit of a true family. Sometimes you may see a different therapist than the previous week, and it might take a little getting used to for people that haven't experienced USATC before, but the idea is that everyone there is qualified and capable, and getting to use different therapists maximizes your opportunity to get helpful treatment, because they all bring different tricks of the trade from their prior experiences in the field.
Not-to-mention, USATC has worked with some top-notch athletes and clients, and you can feel it when you're there. You look around the walls, and you're inspired to work hard and get the most of your time, whether it's training or PT. I'll be a client at USATC forever.
The U.S. Athletic Training Center is the best physical therapy facility in New York City. The facility offers manual therapy in every appointment from a licensed physical therapist with a phd. The therapists are all assisted by certified athletic trainers who have four year academic degrees.
The physical therapists and athletic trainers at US Athletic Training Center are such a brilliant team of experts who sincerly care about their patients' health. Patrick and Katie are the very best!!! As a dancer, I am so blessed to have found this place thanks to Mary Leonard and the staff there, pre and post shoulder surgery. I especially love how they acknowledge my name because it shows they care so much about the details!
Big thanks to Dr. Gary Guereirro at USATC for helping me through a chronic ankle sprain issue. I m an ice hockey goalie and we have unique issues with stress to the knees and ankles. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for making a permanent recovery. Thank you Gary!!
U.S. Athletic Training Center is the best Physical Therapy and Gym in the City. The therapists and trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I went to USATC for the gym and even while working out the therapists and trainers are willing to give you tips and help you get a better workout. Although on the smaller side, the gym has everything you would need, and I liked that it did not feel like an massive Equinox. Although I have not been in for physical therapy, I know many that have and they have loved it. The team at USATC wants to get you back out there as fast as safely possible.
Fantastic gym with caring employees... Always helpful and people will even come over to instruct if you are doing an exercise incorrectly... No need to be scared by the name as this gym is open to everyone from professional athletes to mediocre golfers.
Yes, I haven't gone back for physical therapy in over a week. Several therapists stand around talking with one-another and have too many people to tend to at the same time while the assistants are back and forth, chatting away and don't even know what needs to be done. I go on my lunch hours and I'm not a "big shot" with two hours to waste. After I'm done with one task, I stand around asking "ok, what now?" and wait for help. Erica was very good as was Ben (the PT Asst.). Jared left a lot to be desired as well -- Mr. Chatter Box. I decided to go back yesterday (8/18) again with Michael - he was the worse PT ever -- he did not even read my chart -- he kept asking Ben "what should she do now?" When I asked him if he read my chart, he replied "yes, it's just that your doctor prescribed a very unique treatment plan." Uh really, was I born yesterday?" He clearly did not read my chart as I have a common problem -- tight calves. Lastly, as he was supposed to be working with me, a new patient showed up and he began speaking to her about her treatment and kept trying to put the rubber bands on my foot -- clearly he failed. I walked out shortly thereafter. Not honest and incompetent. I am now seeking a new place. Ben Rocks as does Erica -- everyone else, well they have great jobs where they can walk around and have lots of fun laughing it up and chatting away.
My therapist, David, is really good. I already did PT in different places for different reasons. He is one of the best I ve even seen. Also, the environment makes you fell you are going to a gym!
This place is amazing! They have Great Therapists who really know their stuff. My team - Melissa & Paige - treated me like a VIP even though I am just an ordinary middle aged woman! They wasted no time in giving me a game plan of exercises in order to help me heal - watching me always to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. I started to feel better right after the first visit. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming! The gym is fully stocked with every sort of weight machine imaginable. My team also created an exercise plan for me to do at home. I felt very inspired to do it because their kindness and belief in me motivated me to succeed. It is centrally located ~ right by the E train stop at Madison & 53rd! What more could you ask for! A+++++++
I have had my fair share of injuries playing hockey at the collegiate level. I was pleased with my recovery most of the time. However, when I separated my shoulder in 2013, I needed therapy that would exceed my expectations to be healthy in time for playoffs. USATC owner, Gary Guerriero, put me on this exceeded path to recovery much quicker than the initial diagnosis and brought me into playoffs with a stronger shoulder joint than prior to the injury. Since my therapy with USATC's staff, my shoulder hasn't had the linger pain than most people face with shoulder separations. I highly recommend the staff at USATC to anyone looking to conquer an injury and strengthen the areas needing work.
I ve been to a few PT facilities, never going back to any more than twice since I wasn t comfortable and didn t feel like it was working. I m glad I found US training center. Staff was great and they handled all insurance paperwork. Couldn t say nicer things about my trainer or the staff. They were amazing and got me back on my feet.
Great facility. Energetic, and knowledgeable staff. I was treated here for two separate injuries (MCL & Leg Surgery) while playing NCAA Ice Hockey in College. After grueling and sometimes painful therapy I am back to 100%. Thanks to everyone @ USATC
As an elite athlete, whenever I need any sort of PT or a gym to work out in while in NYC, I go to USATC. Their staff is top notch, use only the best equipment, and are always friendly. If you want a top notch experience with dedicated, knowledgeable trainers and therapists, go to USATC
This physical therapy facility is one of the best I've ever been to. Specifically, my therapist, Agatha, and the other PTs and assistances were fantastic. They got me back on my foot quickly and without too much pain. I hope never to be back, again, but know that, if I need it, this is the place I will go, again.
