This place is so cool. Kind wish there more benches to sit a take in the size of the planes. I mean you see them on tv/movies and hear about them on the news but it's amazing to see them up close and go 'wow' those huge and OMG that's small as in the case with the Mercury pod.

We love the Air Force Museum. By husband and I are both from the area and grew up going there with our grandpas and now we take our daughter. It s totally free to get in and look at all the planes and cool exhibits. There are a lot of videos and interactive screens. There are also a few planes you can go inside or sit in the cockpit. Our toddler just loves to run around. All the employees have been very kind. Interesting gift shop with lots to look at. There are sometimes special exhibits (some you pay to see like an augmented reality D-Day exhibit they have this year). There is also a movie theater with very affordable tickets. My husband and I saw a 3D movie there for a date and it was awesome.

If you're into aviation and history you could spend literally days and days here and still not see everything. And, even if you're only mildly interested, you will enjoy seeing a very complete history of aviation from the earliest attempts at flight right up to the very latest in space technology. But, be careful to balance your time wisely. This museum is HUGE, covering five buildings and acres of exhibits.

Spent the entire day visiting the 4 giant Hangars. Amazing number of aircrafts and related exhibits. Some of the notable ones are the B-29 that attacked Nagasaki, the F22 raptor, the B2 Spirit, the SR 71 Blackbird and some former Air Force Ones

No cost to get in! No cost for parking... An awesome museum! You can spend hours and hours in there. My wife loved it! Especially the ability to go on Kennedy's air force one. If you like to read... You'll easily spend all day there. Their guided tours are free and super informative. There were hundreds (not exaggerating) of planes in there. From all eras , experimental, stealth, rockets, helicopters, and very hands on.

The amount of exhibits and information is not only extensive, but also varied and balanced out, you can see some of the first military aircraft ever used, aircraft currently used by the US Air force, and every time period between. They have quite a few exhibits on WW1 aircraft, but there are even more aircraft from more recent time periods. Some of the most impressive or iconic aircraft on display include the B-2 Spirit bomber, the A-10 Thunderbolt, the F-22 raptor, the one and only historic Bockscar B-29, and many, many more. They have short, but information rich knowledge about the exhibits. I especially recommend this museum to history and aircraft fanatics, however I still think that this museum would be a great, and unforgettable experience for anyone.

All of the staff were kind and very polite. They know a lot of information about the exhibits, when I had a question about an exhibit one of the staff kindly answered and gave me some additional trivia about another.

Overall this is one of the greatest museums I have visited. I feel like I could visit this museum multiple times again and still learn more, and enjoy my time there. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who is even remotely interested in planing a visit.

Son and I traveled to see the Memphis Belle, during the ribbon cutting crony ceremony. We were there for a day and a half of some of the most historic and memorable aviation history, ever seen in one location. Everything, was truly well displayed and educational. My son loved the flight simulators the best. Myself, the WWII history is breathtaking. This was a bucket list and trip of a lifetime. And it lived up to our expectations.

Free admission! Free parking! Takes a full day or more to see it all. Expensive but low quality food in the cafe'. Pack a lunch and eat in your car (no food or drinks allowed in the facility) or outside in the picnic area.

There's so much to see. The displays range from the original designs and tools that the Wright Brothers used to modern day UAVs. For a free day of education it's totally worth it, but don't forget that a good bit of the museum runs off of donations and contributions, so be sure to contribute!

This museum just keeps getting bigger and better. Sadly it's been about 20 years since my last visit. I first visited the museum before it was relocated here, way back in the late 60s. In all the years between then and now, I have never been disappointed with a visit. If you find yourself passing within an hour of this location, it is well worth the side trip - but expect to spend at least 4 hours here. Anything less doesn't even scratch the surface of everything to see.

Ermegerh! As an aviation buff from a young age, I knew at some point I was going to have to make a religious pilgrimage here. And I did. And I saw that it was good, said that it was good, and it was good.

I spent the whole of my afternoon slackjawed and gaping. Is that the X-1? Is that the X-15, the SR-71? The MEMPHIS BELLE? Yes, yes, yes and YES! I herpderped through all four halls like a kid in a candy shop.

I could have easily stayed, oh, another day or two, just taking in the minutia of detail that has been lovingly applied to this tribute to the pioneering spirit. Huzzah!

EDIT: Google doesn't like some of my pictures and tries to geo orient them. If it's just a black screen, screen on the pic with your mouse a bit to bring the plane into view. I didn't do full 360 degree pano shots.

Really, really cool place. Wish I could've spent more time here. I could've easily spent an entire day or more looking at all of the different items on display. Lots of really cool planes and war history items.

Wonderful place to take the children and grandchildren. It's a great place to learn, take in some history, and meet folks that lived through our many wars. Highly recommended if you're visiting Dayton.

We loved this place. My 4 year old and 9 year old stayed interested the whole time. We were here for about 5 hours. They had things for all age groups of interest. Water fountains through. Plenty of restrooms. 2 cafes. No backpacks allowed. No outside food or drinks allowed inside. However, there are places to bring food and eat outside. You have to walk through a scanner and have any bag available for search before entry. Great staff and very friendly.

This is the best museum for airplanes that I've ever been to. Wear comfortable shoes and get there early. It's easily a all day trip. I go there once a year and always see something new. The real Memphis belle is there now. Go during the week, when everybody is at work or at school. The first hangar starts with the wright brothers to WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Cold War, Iraq, Afghanistan...
