A must see museum for anyone interested in aviation.
Could spend 3 days or a week. So much to see and read about. Fantastic !!
I only spent a day, and only in the space museum hanger, but will definitely return to visit again! The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable, and VOLUNTEERS! Service never stops for some. The cost is free, a small donation gets you a detailed map. A large donation gets you a detailed map! There are opportunities to spend some money on some cool photo ops, the gift shop is great. Can't wait to visit in warmer weather so I can see some of the outside exhibits.
Great Place to bring your family, the food is good and not overpriced, the IMAX is a must and have a great variety of Planes.
Alot of memorability but not much for Desert Shield/Storm. Had alot of Traitor John McCain. Disgraceful
Everything you would want to see in an Air Force museum. Can't think of a plane they don't have. Give yourself a few days if you really want to digest it all
Excellent museum, covers the history of flight, a must for any aviation enthusiast
This place is a must irrespective of whether you like planes or not. The place is huge and filled with new and decade old planes. A must go for everyone in the Mason area.
Amazing museum with plenty of aircraft from all era's. And all for free. Wow.
Must place in Dayton. It's free and it has the biggest exhibition of aircrafts and flying objects in the region. It has 4 differents enormous hangars with everything well displayed. It even has 4D and VR attractions. You could grab something to eat at the cafeteria.
A wonderful walk through military history. And it's FREE
Me and my family loved it here a lot of walking but it was really fun and the biggest one we have been to
If your part of the CHAIRFORCE come and check this place out. Its a humbling place and will make you proud to say your a member of the #1 Air Force in the world. The museum has planes from the very beginning of aviation all the way up to present day. The tour guides tell great stories about all the aircraft in this place. The museum tells the tail of brave Airman who have fought and died for liberty.
Amazing Museum free of charge! Our whole family truly enjoyed it. We traveled from Kansas City specifically for this Museum as my husband flies and loves airplanes. He wanted to see the valkyrie and it was definitely an amazing experience. My ten-year-old son loved it. Highly recommend for families.
Best collection of US Air Force aircraft and artifacts anywhere. Well presented and extremely impressive.
We were only there 2 hours & I wish we'd had a whole day. We only got to the WwII hangar & I was amazed at the huge # of aircraft & memirabilia there! The IMAX theater/presentation was well worth the admission price. Cant wait to go again next time Im in the area!
Great museum for youth and adults. Many educational programs and activities are available.
Honestly the best airplane museum I've visited so far (and there's been a few!).
Such an amazing collection of history. Great variety of planes. The museum also has a great flow to it. BEST OF ALL ITS FREE!
The National Museum of the U. S. Air Force is an incredible attraction. Give yourself several days to take it all in. The restored planes are amazing to see. There are several hangers of planes including several different Air Force One planes that carried many of our Presidents. All of this for free.
This place was awesome. Free admission and it's huge. You could spend days going through all of the displays, and there is a very impressive collection of aircraft. So many that a lot of them hang from the ceiling, because there wasn't enough room on the floor of the 4 giant hangars for all of them. The new 4th room was especially cool in my opinion. It contains space vehicles, experimental aircraft, and the presidential collection, containing multiple former Air Force One aircraft. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk a lot.
This is an experience, learning about flight itself, and where and when a particular plane has been, and especially what part it played in every aspect of our lives.
What an amazing place. Been coming here since I was a kid and there is always so much more to see.
This is a great place to take the family. There's so much to see and you can go inside of more than 5 planes. There is a small cafe area, but you're not permitted food or dink outside of the cafe area. They will do a brief overview inside large purses for weapons. The best part is that they have free admission!
@capt_long_wool_silver had a great time and some good pictures :)
Very nice place to visit if you are in Ohaio state...can spend entire looking at the aeroplanes...
One can see how tha aviation industry evolved starting from planes made of woods to modern fighter jets.
Was amazed to see the B2 bomber here...its so huge.
Can by some cool stuff here as gifts in the meusium shops.
There is a 3D movie thetre which shows movies related to aviation.
Again a must place to visit...
Such a great museum! I only got to see it for about an hour, and couldn't cover everything. What I could see was outstanding! I can't believe this is free!
Parents: Be aware that you have to walk past the gift shop and through the cafe to get to everything, so expect a hassle from your kids.
What an amazing place to visit! So much to see & so much history! It was so much better than I imagined! Highly recommend a visit.
THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE YOUR WHOLE FAMILY ITS FREE AND ALL THE WALKING WILL PUT THE KIDS STRAIGHT TO SLEEP WHEN U GET DONE AND IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE ALL THE MILITARY PLANES AND OTHER STUFF GREAT PLACE FOR INFO. IF KIDS HAVE THESE KIND OF SCHOOL PROJECTS
Awesome exhibits! For an even more awesome price-free!!
Bring y our walking shoes. This place is huge. Spent four hours and enjoyed every minute. Aircraft, engines and displays from the first days of aviation to today's latest aviation technologies.
Excellent museum! A must see for All Veterans and their families. Excellent exhibits of very historical aircraft.
So much to see, can't get through it all in one day.
Fantastic opportunity to learn more about airplanes and get an appreciation for what it took to fly and work on them. A most fantastic museum!
Amazing experience. Well laid out exhibits covering WWI until present day.
The Air Force museum is free. You can't beat that. They have gift shops and food courts. If you just walk through the museum and take some pics, then it takes about 3 hours to walk through. There is also a theater where you can watch 3d movies. I suggest packing a lunch and the gift shop is rather expensive. Overall it's a great museum.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I highly recommend checking this place out of you have a free afternoon
Loved the early years and WWII artefacts. 4th Hall is mind blowing too
This museum is just amazing. I was told to visit it and told my self... I already know a lot about planes and the air Force...
When I stepped foot into that museum I was shocked! There is so much to see.
Here are some details:
-It is FREE to go in
-There is a theater that shows movies, for a fee
-Gift shop is awesome with a lot of goods
-The museum has about 4 large sections, takes easily over an hour per section.
-i suggest dividing this visit into two days (even if you do, I doubt you will be able to remember everything).
-some of the aircrafts on desplay I did not even know existed or were real! Just amazing to see.
-museum is worth a trip on its own if you like planes and the history of wars and air force.
-attached a couple of pics. I HIGHLY recommend going to this museum.
We have been to PIMA in Tucson and thought we had seen it all. Not true. This museum was and is stunning! You need at least a full day to even scratch the surface. Thank you to all the men and women who have served.
Such a cool place to spend your day with friends. Tag along with the guides if you are interested in the origin and war roles of the aircrafts!! Guide schedules are available at the entrance and they are free. The past-US president aircrafts are really worth a inside tour. Rest assured you ll find the most amazing and unique designs of aircraft. Overall an interesting and knowledgeable visit.
Best , Best great people so much to see.I felt like i travel the world. Be back soon....
This place is a great visit! Absolutely huge. There's so much to take in and see. Awesome experience. I can't wait to go back.
Fantastic place, free parking/entrance, superb exhibition...#goodjob!
If you have the opportunity to go to this gorgeous museum and enjoy the thousands of historical aircrafts. It was very impressive.
What a wonderful experience! And for free. One of the best things I love about the museum, perhaps more than the planes, are the volunteers. its astonishing how many of them actually flew in the planes that they give tours to. Ask an open ended question and just sit back and listen. They are willing to share.
This place is best for you if you like history or planes!! The museum is well arranged based on the big events in history!! Seperate hangers diplay planes and development in aviation. Five star rating!! Do not miss the 3DAdmax theatre show!
Took the family for a day trip and had a great time. Even my 6 year old enjoyed the museum. Plenty to keep even the younger kids entertained. The restroom where all clean, the staff were very knowledgeable about the displays, and there is in overall friendly environment. Also it is priced right, since admission is free. We at lunch, and I was surprised that it was no more expensive than your typical fast food restaurant.
This museum rivals the air and space museum in DC. It has all categories of airplanes to see. It starts at the Wright brothers flyer and goes to the F-22 which is the newest model they have right now. The staff is mostly retired individuals who are kind and helpful. It s free and I defiantly recommend it!
Amazing collection of aircraft spanning the entire history of aviation!
I loved it all, the jet's to the stories of the heroes that flew them.
Navy veteran. I've always been fascinated by the different types of aircraft and historic memorabilia.
Not enough time to take in everything here, looking forward to visiting again with my kids...this place is by far the best air space museum I've visited.
If you are not familiar with this place, it is worth the trip. It is free. They have a lot of planes of different varieties of importance. They also house some plain historical exhibits.
Staff is so nice and helpful. I love going to the planes
My 3.5 year old grandson had a great time here. Excellent museum!
The museum has more interesting planes than any other place in the world.
This place is amazingly huge. My wife and I went through it fast and still took like 2.5 hours. We talked with a guide at the space shuttle exhibit and he was very Knowledgeable. I think I will be back to do a guided tour I think it would be a very informative experience. The price is right at FREE. Definitely worth a look. If you are in to fight history plan in several long trips to this place if you want to take it all in.
A wonderful place of honor and pride. Take your children there so they can learn of the sacrifices given for freedom by the brave men and women of our country.
This place is AMAZING! This is the best museum I've ever been to. Period. If you're a huge aviation buff, I highly recommend it. Even if you're not, you will still learn something new! Every plane you could ever think of is here. Stunning displays. I absolutely loved it. Thanks for having me!!
You can spend the whole day here. Two cafes with decent food at reasonable prices, a huge gift shop, and more planes and missiles than you can shake a stick at. New gallery added last year featuring several retired Air Force One planes and space vehicles. Really neat peice of history.
Amazing experience definitely a must if your anywhere in the area. It s a lot of walking but it s free so you can go in and out as you please . There s no inside food or drink but there are 2 small cafes inside. There are a couple of walk through planes in the 4th section. Through looking at all the planes leisurely and wandering around we spent 3 hours walking around and 5 miles of walking. We really enjoyed all the exhibits and would definitely go again.
I love going here and not just because it's free. So much history in one ginormous place. Everything is so well preserved and the staff are friendly and informative. There are many planes that you can walk through but some are a tight squeeze. Allow yourself a few hours if you want to see everything and where good walking shoes. This is also a great place to take kids.
Breathtaking and awe inspiring. Here you are literally able to touch pieces of history. The Museum is MASSIVE. A friend and I walked through it all and rarely stopped and it took almost 2 hours. Its a wonderfully maintained, clean and empty on a Monday afternoon. Parking is free, admission is free, how can you go wrong. They have some interaction kiosks for kids but you may be hard pressed to entertain children given how large and how long it takes to go through this place. I would suggest a couple of days if you want to be thorough. 100% worth a trip and you'd be missing out if you just drove by.
Great museum, with some of the most interesting displays I have ever seen at a museum.
Excellent field trip with my kiddos! They loved the exhibits you could walk through and the free admission is always a plus!
Unbelievable place!! Everyone should visit this muesum. I would give it a 10 star review if I could.
It is well worth your time and it's free!!
This place is amazing. All the exhibits are organized to give you an idea of how aircrafts have been evolving since their invention until current days. Their new attraction: the Memphis Belle is worth to see. You'll spend hours just wandering off and being amazed by all the different planes out there. Totally recommended!
Great place for kids of all ages! The interpreters are very patient and knowledgeable.
impressive, expansive, takes more than a day to see everything, but worthwhile for just an afternoon, free
