Very fun and educational place. Free entrance. Ate subs there but can only give 2 of 5 stars for those. To much dense dry bread. Can't eat anything any place but the restaurants.

Great place to know all the airforce history. World war and early aircrafts are well displayed. Virtual reality tour is an amazing experience. Simulator rides are also a good experience.
I love the new Hanger! It's awesome to be able to go inside those planes and experience the history! The place is very clean and you get to take in so much history, it's an amazing experience, and it's free.
We were totally pleased to visit the museum on our way back to Canada. The museum was very well exhibited, well documented and really followed the history of flight from the beginning of flight to the moon and outer limits. Thoroughly enjoyed the time there
What a wonderful experience the National Air force Museum brings. A great place for families to spend time together. Also very affordable considering it is free to enter. They have a store where you can purchase souvenirs and they also take your photo when you first come in that with a small fee you can pick up at the end of journey. There are simulator rides for the whole family to enjoy. I would plan a whole day to really enjoy and embrace the history of the Museum.
When I lived in nearby Centerville, I took advantage of this Museum and visited several times every year. You can go to this place 10 times and you still won't be able to fully appreciate everything that's here. There's so much to see and so much history to absorb. Definitely don't miss the IMAX theater, as there are some great shows there.
Best museum experience
Awesome airplanes
Great weekend trip for the family. Many walk through aircraft. Must check out the Presidential Gallery.
Our family loves visiting. Every time we go we learn something new. Make sure you chat with the volunteers. They have a love for the history and have amazing stories to tell!
Keeps getting better and better. For instance, Air Force One, used by Kennedy through Clinton, that you can walk through! Same one that LBJ was sworn in on, and JFK came back to DC in.
Great place with lots of aircraft and interesting pieces in the collection.
Great museum! Come early and plan to spend a few hours!
Wonderful museum I have been to the museum twice and still have not seen every exhibit. Volunteers are retired veterans and very very kind and helpful.
Free mobility scooter's, so don't worry about grandparents walking the vast museum.
Fantastic beautiful and interesting it's fun for the whole family
Wow ! We needed 4 days but only had one ! Must go back
A great trip for anyone visiting from out off town, kids, adults and veterans. I've been numerous times living in the area and taking visitors and they always have new exhibits. An enormous variety of exhibits and a great lesson in history. The guided tours are fun and give you a deeper look into the background of what happened and what it was like this those who went through it.
I visited here 26 years ago and I loved it then too. This place has it all, with a robust variety of historic and modern aircraft, both on the floor and above. All of my favorite aircraft are here, as well as one of a kind aircraft. The staff are abundant and very helpful. The gift shop is chock full of great gifts for kids and adults alike. It's free to get in and free parking too, but I encourage a donation to help them keep the lights on.
Went on an outing with our department from work. Amazing. We came mid-day and went through all the hangers, but could've easily spent a whole day there. We didn't even do the IMAX movies which I hear are really good. The Presidential Gallery planes are so cool. Going through the WWII exhibits and the Iraq/Afghanistan exhibits were impactful for me. So crazy that all the advances in aviation have happened in 120 years. What an awesome museum. A must do for pretty much everyone. Plenty of restrooms throughout and also places to rest your feet. The place does have air conditioning although it works better in some hangers than others. There are 2 restaurants, food is average at best and expensive. There are restaurants nearby.
A great place for family members to go and see some of the equipment that their parents and grandparents also great grandparents worked on or had flown in during any conflict that the military was in that had do with avation. It brought back some good memories but also some bad ones.
This was a great museum dedicated to aviation history. Free of charge and made for a casual visitor to an enthusiast.
My family loves strolling through on Saturday afternoon. The volunteers are always so welcoming. The kids always find something new to learn and enjoy. It is an area treasure!
I absolutely loved it and it was a very cool and educational experience
You cannot find a better museum on avaition. The National Air and Space museum is awesome but this place is better. A fantastic place to see tons of avaition history. I will be coming back as much as I can being a out of towner and a four hour drive. I would definitely volunteer here if I was a local.
Excellent museum. Amazing exhibits. Knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides.
This is maybe the most eclectic group of military aircraft in America. Spanning from the Wright B flyer to space age and research and development. You can be there all day and not get through it all.
A great place to learn about the history of aviation. A wonderful learning experience for kids as well. My son loves looking at the airplanes
Super Blessed to have this amazing place right here in Ohio.
No matter how many times you tell the people you are bringing "this place is huge" or "theres enough to see to spend an entire day" they will he surprised. The guides/volunteers are super knowledgable too.
I really enjoyed walking through time and viewing the advancements in technology and the struggle for flight in the beginning.
This is awesome. If you can take 2-3 days I highly recommend doing so. Well worth the time.
You can easily spend 2 days wandering through this awesome museum and most every exhibit has a significant place in our history of flight. Cost of admission is free.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force is always a fun place to visit. I love the history that is showcased. It is a great place to visit with friends and family. It is also FREE!! I've enjoyed several shows in the theater as well.
It's huge and I need to come back again to view everything. There's free parking plus no admission charge. The volunteers who work there are so knowledgeable.
Huge museum. Great exhibits. Recommend full day visit.
Kids has a great time looking at the aircraft and learning about them, all the while learning about their great grandfather and his efforts and works regarding aircraft projects that he had worked on as an engineer after returning home from WW11. The VR was impressive and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside is the prices at the cafe's. It's pretty much highway robbery; for example a 20 oz bottle of Mt. Dew was over 3 dollars. Take a second mortgage out or rack up a credit card is my suggestion for lunch or just plain old cash if you have it.
Absolutely Amazing!!! I grew up going here every year or so, but if you haven't been back in a while, GO! Well worth setting aside the whole day... you'll need it to see everything.
Amazing place! If you are in the area it's definitely a must see.
Fantastic museum! It is huge so make sure you give yourself enough time to experience it all.
This is a wonderful place to take your family or just to visit when you're in town. Really an amazing experience
Great museum. Would use up all afternoon. Lots and lots of reading, might make it harder for little ones.
Incredible museum. A national treasure. I can t believe the admission is free.
Amazing museum. Family has a great time every single time we go. If you only plan on going once...plan for it to take the whole day.
Free to the public, something for everyone and a history lesson as well. Been a few times and it never gets old.
Absolutely incredible aviation museum. The collection rivals, if not betters, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in DC. From the earliest eras of flight to the latest generation in the USAF, it's here in all it's incredible glory, including super-rare and even one-of-a-kinds, like the Valkyrie, Apollo 15 command module, all the X-planes, the Memphis Bell, the list goes on and on and on......and it's all at one facility. The staff was incredibly nice and excited to share stories. My 12 year old and I spent a little less than 5 hours walking the hangars ---- and we barely stopped to read any of the exhibits. I cannot wait to return!
SO MANY PLANES! take a walk though aviation history, from early flight, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, and modern age. Experiential and presidential planes too. Spacecraft as well. Apollo 15 command module is a sight to see. Give yourself plenty of time to take it all in.
Great place to visit for free and learn a lot about our history in regards to flight. Some good interactive displays and guided tours available also. Excellent museum.
Most complete collection of aircraft I've ever seen! ....and it's Free!
Fun and educational place to visit for the entire family.
If you enjoy Military Aircraft, this place is awesome.
Enjoyed visiting with my family! Great place to go for a history lesson. Be sure to wear your walking shoes! Activities for the kids.
AWESUM museum! From wood n paper planes to space craft. Room bysicle power to props, jets, rockets... All sizes all shapes, all styles...It is great!
Very interesting.
A Good Spot for a Trip and for free
Really a cool place. Something for all ages. Wear your best and most comfortable walking shoes.
What history unfolded....one place all aviation and history buffs need to visit.
Love it, we got a few times each year. Always something new to see!
So much to see. Leave time! Really enjoyed the D-Day movie.
Amazing exhibition! Need multiple days to see everything. Planes, missiles, Air Force Ones, plus informative attendants. Highly recommend!
Free and lots to see. The presidential aircraft is interesting as is the World War I section.
My first time here was today. I figured it would be great based on all the positive reviews, but I was still surprised just how great it was! My only complaint -- ONLY -- is the concessions section on the 2nd floor. Prices were eh but the food was nasty! Bring a lunch and eat it outside in the Memorial Park (5 stars there, too). Great experience and to top it all off, admission is free!
There is so much to see from the beginning of flight to recent history. There is a variety of artifacts, including jackets, engines, medals, uniforms, planes (obviously), and ordnance. They offer guided tours but there are plenty of signs describing the displays and stories behind them to do a self-guided tour. Admission is free but donate a few bucks if you don't plan on buying from the massive gift shop, or even if you do, some it really is a great museum. I prefer it to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Now on display, just starting this week, the restored Memphis Belle!
Very cool place very large it takes a while to appreciate all it has to offer!!!
If you are I the area.. this place is definitely ba place in which to stop by. Give yourself some time because this is one of the biggest Museums youve been to. You could easily spend more than half a day in there or even a full day if you really enjoy reading everything. It stretches on for a long way and has great exhibits.
a national treasure that just keeps getting better.... and it's FREE!
Amazing broad collection of all forms of aircraft throughout history. There is a lot to read, sit in, walk around and through. The little kids loved it. I loved it when I was young (and still do). Food was ok in the cafeteria.
Free, Great volunteers who help and direct you. Great accessibility support
This was FAR more cooler than the Smithsonian. The Presidential Wing was fantastic, but as were all the others.
Excellent place to spend the day and learn some history. Beautiful, informative, and free.
Awesome collection, really worth visiting. If you love to see amazing fighter planes then this is the place. I really need an entire day to see the exhibits in the museum. They don't allow any food and drink inside the museum. They have a small food court for food and drink options.
