So much history with hangers of airplanes, you'll need all day for a visit!
I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. This was my first time in roughly 5 years and so much has changed. I like having the new fourth hangar but it was a cool experience having to go onto the air force base to see the R and D and presidential stuff.
Amazing collection from WWI to the Space Age. Great job preserving a piece of WWII history by restoring The Memphis Belle.
A great collection of planes dating back to the Wright Brothers.
Excellent place to spend time with family and friends. Explore and get knowledge about the US airforce flight history. I loved this place.. Very very worth to make a plan to visit this.. It has more space for parking.. All facilities available.. I would suggest to visit this place.. Enjoy
Saw a B 24 like the one my father served in during ww2 ! Great museum !
Most of the Jets were roped off, so very little hands on. However, the staff was amazing and there was no entrance fee. I was also able to get three "coins" for the three kids I brought for $10. I have always wanted to see the SR-71 and they had one!
Such a great place. The amount of historical items are amazing and so cool. Everyone should definitely make a trip to experience this Museum. Extra cool Sunday's are free!!
Great place for old and young. A ton to see and do around the hangers. Great movies and activities to keep older children entertained. Nothing really for young children though beyond the planes.
The National Museum of the Air Force is a very easy place to visit, with good close free parking, no admission fee, and a collection that's easy to stroll through. They have a great collection of both rare aircraft and all of the planes that you'd expect to see (B-52, B-29, SR-71, F-16, etc.) If you're not familiar with the aircraft, the displays will explain things to you. If you are familiar, enjoy. I've been here roughly 8 times, often as a rest stop from a long drive It's not that far from the interstate, and well worth the stop.
Fantastic, extensive collection of planes. So so restaurant. But a fantastic collection of planes.
It's the greatest place on earth! This is the place where I could live out the rest of my days.
One of the most comprehensively coolest aircraft museums in the world...the presidential aircraft displays are one of a kind, as are many other featured exhibits.
A very interesting and fun place to visit. The admission is free, it is totally worth checking out.
Outstanding!! Incredible displays of aircraft, and knowledgeable Air Force veterans explain things. A wonderful history lesson for all!
Amazing museum. Wear your walking shoes and expect to spend a good amount of time here. there is a lot to see.
Great place for some free family fun try to learn something new each trip and have the kids each share one new fact as we leave.
Lots of planes and other stuff. It might take the whole day.
Great air museum. I could spend days there. Very well done.
The best place for aviation history outside the Smithsonian. Geared toward military aviation, but contains plenty of non-military planes as well. Friendly staff, informative exhibits, and a complete history of aviation in various themed hangars starting with the pioneers of flight, WWI and WWII, a missile silo, modern aviation wing, presidential wing, and IMAX theater. Check the calendar for special events. My favorite is the bi-annual Great War fly-in!
One of the best air museums we've been to! 4 large airplane hangars full of every plane imaginable! I can't believe it is free to visit! Very nice place to visit!
You can see hundreds of airplanes, missiles, and Presidential planes for free.
Amazing place to go with kids. So much to see and learn. Everyone waa super helpful and knowledgeable. Huge museum and very well organized. A must visit in my opinion.
So much history packed in the space! Fantastic afternoon and unfortunately didn't get to see it all! Great reason to go back!!
FREE! You could spend a whole day here. Every plane you could imagine and many you never knew existed.
This place is truly a wonder. It is free and great for all ages.
If you've never been, and you have someone who likes airplanes, I recommend this museum.
Awesome place for all ages. Lots of interesting interactive hands-on displays for all ages.
Will require 2 days to thoroughly see everything from early days, WWI, pre WWII, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, coldwar, current and R&D.
Many of the exhibit planes one can walk thru such as Air Force 1.
Was a great place to learn the beginning of flight thru the cold war very informative.
Been coming here since I was a Kid. Been here a hundred times and always still amazed at everything they have to see. This was back when it was just two hangers now they have 4 hangers and even more to see. If you like History and planes this is the best place to go.
Absolutely enjoy visiting the NMUSAF. I have lost count of how many times I have been to the museum. I always manage to find something new or something missed each time I visit.
Very enjoyable run by well knowledeged staff hated the 2 fire alarms
Very awesome museum! Free admission too! Lots of amazing historical planes in here.
This is a fantastic place. It has everything about the United States Air Force. It spans aviation from WW1 to the present. It also has an IMAX theater, a gift shop, and a place to eat. Two recent additions are the B-17 Memphis Belle, and in the new addition they have all the past air force ones. Parking and admission is free. (Donations are accepted. )
This place is awesome! Free entrance and so much to see.
Great place to bring your family or friends at no cost! The new hanger is amazing, but a little hot.
So much to take in. Really interesting. Very hot, despite the aircon and a little dark. Very popular and the local people are really proud of it.
History in the artifacts! The US version of the Enigma machine on display.
Great museum. I would highly suggest a trip here. Kid friendly. The holocaust exhibit is presented very well. The overall restorations of the exhibits are very well done. The missiles are awesome, and the WWII section is also phenomenal. Everything was awesome, hence the 5 stars.
Go with time. LOTS of information. Awesome historical planes inside.
Great place with real planes and retired Airforce staff showing you around. The one man we met worked on Airforce One in the Reagan administration!
Will be going back. Could have spend several days looking around.
This place is amazing with the history and great staff to help you, guide you. It will take you an entire day to see it all. Worth the time. My family had a great time.
Well worth the time. This place is amazing. WW1, WW2, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam Era planes and exhibits.
I have going to this Museum since I was a child. Over the past 50 plus years I have enjoyed watching this Museum grow and Blossom into the spectacular place it is now. I was so glad when my husband told me that he too grew up coming to the museum. It has been a wonderful thing to share not only with him but with our family and friends as well. My out-of-town friends who hoped to come in to visit have asked to come to this location as one of their first places to visit while here. I encourage anyone coming from anywhere across the world to visit here if they should come into the area it is totally worth the trip over to see it.
The museum is a must-see for anyone interested in aviation or space exploration history. The museum continually improved year after year. Not recommended for little ones unless you have a stroller and snacks. There are good venues located throughout. I've lived the place since childhood. Bockscar the plane that ended WWII it's on display with a Fat Man replica. There are currently four buildings. Plan on at least three hours for a quick-paced, self-guided tour. Docents provide free tours throughout the day. Leave weapons, pocket knives etc. in the car.
Always have a good time here. Took a tour and learned a lot. I feel I needed more time as I didn't see everything especially with taking a tour. I could easily spend 4 hours here.
Love taking the family here,so much to see and the friendly staff is great.the kids love it
Amazing place, great for all ages, plan for more than one day
Love this place got to take a picture next to Air Force One the one Kennedy was on
Enjoyable.I like the way it progressed from the beginning of flight to modern technology. I also was extremely pleased with the way they have restored the Memphis Belle. I saw her years ago at Mud island, she was in terrible shape, but she looks brand new now!
Fantastic place to go over and over And for any amount of time. There is nothing this well presented anywhere else. The displays tell a story about each plane and about some of the flyers who flew them. 10 stars wouldn't be enough..
Excellent, large, well displayed variety of combat aircraft. Best I have seen and that includes the Smithsonian. (Which has a different purpose)
Wonderful place! So many cool and interesting things to see. I could definitely go multiple times.
From the Wright Flyer to the F-22 Raptor, the most technologically advanced Fighter in the world...AWESOME!!!
This is a great place to go learn and walk around. My kids love looking at the planes and space exhibit. Plus it's free!
Me and my kids love going here so much too see and do and learn
Lots of planes and their history, it took us 2 days to soak it all up, FYI, over 17,000 steps our 1st day, the Valkyrie cafe hit the spot for lunch. This is a bucket list destination if your into aviation. Comfort inn suites is across the street
I try to go here at least once every 2 years always something new
This is a great place to see the history of Aviation
Great fun, must see and experience. Take a picnic to enjoy in their large park!
Absolutely awesome place to go, either by yourself or with the entire family. The staff are very knowledgeable.
Oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world. Over 300 planes on display. All free. Open 9 to 5 every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day & New Year's Day.
I love this place. Educational, historical and free!
Great place to spend some quality time as a family.
If you are at all interested in aviation, this is the place to go
This place opens your eyes up about the technology that was available in these days. This was an awesome place to go and walk through!
It is FREE to walk through the front door! This is an absolutely incredible place. Bring the kids! Think of the BILLIONS of dollars it would take to replace all the planes in the museum...probably the greatest value museum in the world. Take the kids though the new President's planes hangar....incredible.
I could spend a week, coming here everyday, and find new things to see. The museum is a wonderful place to learn about the history of flight and to experience beautiful relics of the past. The museum is family friendly and a dream for photographers. I can't recommend this place enough!
So much fun! You need to take an entire day if you want to take the whole thing in and learn something.
Had a good time. A lot of walking so stroller recommended for kids. Large variety and fun information. Can't bring drinks inside so if you have little ones plan accordingly. Be prepared to have bags searched if you want to bring them in. The little cafe is overpriced/dirty with a weak selection and bored/uninterested staff but you can easily avoid that and enjoy the awesome aircraft! No cover or parking fee so happy to drop a few extra dollars in the gift shop and the rides they had for the kids. Already being asked to come back before we leave the parking lot. Definitely will!
