I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. This was my first time in roughly 5 years and so much has changed. I like having the new fourth hangar but it was a cool experience having to go onto the air force base to see the R and D and presidential stuff.

Most of the Jets were roped off, so very little hands on. However, the staff was amazing and there was no entrance fee. I was also able to get three "coins" for the three kids I brought for $10. I have always wanted to see the SR-71 and they had one!

The National Museum of the Air Force is a very easy place to visit, with good close free parking, no admission fee, and a collection that's easy to stroll through. They have a great collection of both rare aircraft and all of the planes that you'd expect to see (B-52, B-29, SR-71, F-16, etc.) If you're not familiar with the aircraft, the displays will explain things to you. If you are familiar, enjoy. I've been here roughly 8 times, often as a rest stop from a long drive It's not that far from the interstate, and well worth the stop.

The best place for aviation history outside the Smithsonian. Geared toward military aviation, but contains plenty of non-military planes as well. Friendly staff, informative exhibits, and a complete history of aviation in various themed hangars starting with the pioneers of flight, WWI and WWII, a missile silo, modern aviation wing, presidential wing, and IMAX theater. Check the calendar for special events. My favorite is the bi-annual Great War fly-in!

Awesome place for all ages. Lots of interesting interactive hands-on displays for all ages.
Will require 2 days to thoroughly see everything from early days, WWI, pre WWII, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, coldwar, current and R&D.
Many of the exhibit planes one can walk thru such as Air Force 1.

This is a fantastic place. It has everything about the United States Air Force. It spans aviation from WW1 to the present. It also has an IMAX theater, a gift shop, and a place to eat. Two recent additions are the B-17 Memphis Belle, and in the new addition they have all the past air force ones. Parking and admission is free. (Donations are accepted. )

Great museum. I would highly suggest a trip here. Kid friendly. The holocaust exhibit is presented very well. The overall restorations of the exhibits are very well done. The missiles are awesome, and the WWII section is also phenomenal. Everything was awesome, hence the 5 stars.

I have going to this Museum since I was a child. Over the past 50 plus years I have enjoyed watching this Museum grow and Blossom into the spectacular place it is now. I was so glad when my husband told me that he too grew up coming to the museum. It has been a wonderful thing to share not only with him but with our family and friends as well. My out-of-town friends who hoped to come in to visit have asked to come to this location as one of their first places to visit while here. I encourage anyone coming from anywhere across the world to visit here if they should come into the area it is totally worth the trip over to see it.

The museum is a must-see for anyone interested in aviation or space exploration history. The museum continually improved year after year. Not recommended for little ones unless you have a stroller and snacks. There are good venues located throughout. I've lived the place since childhood. Bockscar the plane that ended WWII it's on display with a Fat Man replica. There are currently four buildings. Plan on at least three hours for a quick-paced, self-guided tour. Docents provide free tours throughout the day. Leave weapons, pocket knives etc. in the car.

Enjoyable.I like the way it progressed from the beginning of flight to modern technology. I also was extremely pleased with the way they have restored the Memphis Belle. I saw her years ago at Mud island, she was in terrible shape, but she looks brand new now!

Fantastic place to go over and over And for any amount of time. There is nothing this well presented anywhere else. The displays tell a story about each plane and about some of the flyers who flew them. 10 stars wouldn't be enough..

Lots of planes and their history, it took us 2 days to soak it all up, FYI, over 17,000 steps our 1st day, the Valkyrie cafe hit the spot for lunch. This is a bucket list destination if your into aviation. Comfort inn suites is across the street

It is FREE to walk through the front door! This is an absolutely incredible place. Bring the kids! Think of the BILLIONS of dollars it would take to replace all the planes in the museum...probably the greatest value museum in the world. Take the kids though the new President's planes hangar....incredible.

I could spend a week, coming here everyday, and find new things to see. The museum is a wonderful place to learn about the history of flight and to experience beautiful relics of the past. The museum is family friendly and a dream for photographers. I can't recommend this place enough!

Had a good time. A lot of walking so stroller recommended for kids. Large variety and fun information. Can't bring drinks inside so if you have little ones plan accordingly. Be prepared to have bags searched if you want to bring them in. The little cafe is overpriced/dirty with a weak selection and bored/uninterested staff but you can easily avoid that and enjoy the awesome aircraft! No cover or parking fee so happy to drop a few extra dollars in the gift shop and the rides they had for the kids. Already being asked to come back before we leave the parking lot. Definitely will!
