Got to see the amazing US Air Force Museum in Ohio. Four huge hangars that contain planes from WWI, WWII, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Presidential Planes, NASA spaceships, etc. Such a crazy and interesting piece of warfare airplane history. Highly recommend going and experiencing this.

Best place to discover history and how flight helped shape who we are for over a century now. Maybe slightly boring for young ones but fantastic for those who can appreciate it. For free, it doesn't get much better.

Amazing! Really enjoy the displays and gift shop. The cafeteria is good as well as the staff being very friendly. Much to look at and to enjoy. Plan for a good 4 hours to actually take it all in without rushing, one can spend a whole day inside the hangars. Great deal of nostalgia!

Amazing one of a kind airplanes. You get to see legendary aircraft like the x-15. Can't say enough good things about this museum. It would take a dedicated aviation fan several days to go through slowly enough to absorb the details of what is there.

We were able to visit the National Museum of the US Air Force last weekend and had an excellent time.

After looking at the website it was clear to see that there were plenty of displays to keep
Us occupied. I d suggest anyone planning to visit to check the website first so you know the location of the exhibits you don t want to miss. This is a massive museum and there is easily enough to take up a full day. You don t want to run out of time and miss something you were really hoping to see. If you have a special interest in this then you may even want to consider going multiple days just to make sure you don t miss anything.

We especially enjoyed touring through the presidential collection, the Apollo 15 Command Module, the Memphis Belle and so many of the experimental aircraft that existed only in tests or were the precursors for other well known aircraft.

Parking and admission to the museum was free. There is a snack bar at the entrance and a full cafeteria near the back of the museum. There is also a gift shop and plenty of volunteers roaming to help answer questions and give directions. We visited on a Saturday and while the parking lot was full, the museum itself didn t feel overly crowded.

This is a must see for anyone visiting Dayton.

Sooooo much history to see! Aircraft from every Era, from the Wright Brothers to the Stealth Fighter/Bomber. Takes a good 1.5 - 2 hours to see all displays as well as craft you can walk through or "ride". Incredible gift shop and IMAX theater.

What a great place to learn so much about oir aviation history and aircraft used. They have some planes that you would never have the opportunity to see anywhere else. Plus, it's free! Definitely worth the drive from out of town again to enjoy the day there. The new lights make it so much nicer inside.

Awesome selection of every imaginable warplane through the ages, and best of all it's free (parking is free too)! There's always an eager docent waiting to help you with whatever you need, or answer any of your questions. Definitely worth the detour if you're on the fence either way.

Excellent display of USAF military history and world events. Very nice presentation of the people that have devoted so much to the advancement of our protection and others that could not provide the same for themselves. I was surprised to find all of the latest aircraft on display. Plan to spend all day - you will need it.

This museum is not only about the United States Air Force, but it also has an outdoor area known as the Memorial Gardens. Many military units are honored there with monuments. The latest was on September 28th, 2017 when Hershel Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation conducted a groundbreaking for the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Dayton, Ohio Project. The Memorial Monument should be completed in the Spring.

Intended on a one day visit, turned into two days because there was so much to see. You can go and spend nothing and just enjoy all the history. You can take a cooler and go to the park and eat. You can eat at the cafes and shop all the cool stuff in the gift shop! We had a great time and were amazed at what all was there! Oh and all the people were friendly and helpful!

Given its quality, this museum could charge $20-30 to visit and still be packed every day. However, at its current entry fee of FREE, it is the best bang-for-your-buck museum I've ever been to.

Is has examples of pretty much every aircraft in the history of American flight, from the Wright Bros. to the space shuttle. My only objection was that there was so much good stuff to see and learn that I figure out would take me a minimum of 3 full days to do it. If you go, I recommend knowing in advance the period of history on which you want to focus and starting in that section. That may be all you get to, all day, if you really soak it in.

I also recommend packing a picnic lunch. There is a beautiful and extensive garden/monument park with lots of shady trees to lounge under. This shady grove, the parking, the museum... they're all FREE (other than your billions of taxpayer dollars, of course! Still, your tax dollars have already been taken from you, so you might as well go see the awesome planes they helped build!)

Talk about a full day trip, this air Museum is huge! Plan to spend hours here if you go, I lost count of the number of hangers we visited. There were several and in some of them we didn't see everything, because kids. This air Force Museum is completely free and open to the public. It was my first time visiting, but my friend has been several times. During the day it is Not as busy, so I would just going during the weekday if you can. You'll need to check in, if you take a bag it'll need to be checked. And of course, no weapons of any kind are allowed inside.

Kicking myself for not visiting earlier since I moved close to the Museum. Amazing collection of aircraft and history. They have several "one of a kind" planes or "only plane left known of a group." All the employees were not only extremely friendly but very knowledgable. If approached by an employee asking if you have any questions, I recommend you ask them to talk to you about what you are looking at. It would take two days to give this museum a good walk-thru. And....the best part....it's free!!

This is an amazing facility that we spent a day and a half at. You could easily spend several days there if you actually do the IMAX and read the displays. Even if you were in a hurry and don t read the displays this museum would take all day.

Awesome Experience! Hard to visit the whole museum in one visit unless you spend 4+ hours there. So many videos to watch, hard for parents to enjoy it with little kids unless kids stays still.

Fascinating! Planes soar above vast halls of information and displays.Strolled through earlier era Air Force One planes. Learned more about WAVES, exhibitions on past wars and the roles planes played in them, enjoyed the IMAX theatre productions and I didn't even get outside to the planes there! I will definitely return. It would take days to see and enjoy everything!

It's been a little over a year since we visited last and were planning on going this year until covid hit but if you ever have a chance to go I would highly recommend it. Especially if you are a military aircraft enthusiast. The history of these planes and what they've accomplished is amazing.
