Everybody is so helpful and friendly here. We stopped in to get our first "real" turntable after suffering with a Crosley for years. They helped us find one within our price range that had a built-in pre-amp and fit our decor at home. I make sure to come back here for my records to continue supporting the business.
Great vinyl record shop. Perfect for finding new releases of records or any quality Hardware you may need. Little hard to find since they've been doing construction out front for a while. Definitely recommend any vinyl collector in New York City to stop by here.
Took a trip out to NY and Turntable s store front was an absolute must on my todo list. I picked up a few opened albums and upon ringing up, was offered new sealed options and the associate was even more picky than I when it came to a crinkled corner on one, she offered to grab a new one. I shopped around and got helped with some turntable accessories also, being told they would work with my model. I flew back to Salt Lake and turns out, the parts didn t work. After a short phone conversation and my info being taken I was emailed almost immediately with exchange information. I was treated very fairly and quickly, and couldn t be happier with the outcome! Turntable Lab, you are the reason vinyl is coming back in a big way. Your selection is outstanding and customer service is the best around. Keep being amazing.
Ordered a limited vinyl, they sent the wrong product and by the time I received the wrong one in the mail they were sold out of the one I wanted. According to customer service this happened on a pretty large scale to their customers. Just sloppy af.
Been a fan of the online store for years. First time seeing the physical storefront in person. And I got to say that it was all I had envisioned and more. Shopping online you get recommendations from the staff, and same goes for here. Except you can ask the questions. The staff was super helpful and so nice. Will definitely make this my "go to" record spot every time I'm in town!
Beautiful Storefront, Friendly Staff, Not Pushy, Definitely a Local Small Business with Top of the Line Gear for DJ's, Producers and Vinyl Enthusiasts - I encourage others to support ttl
Great music of all genres at great prices and accessories for turntables
This is their newer location I believe. I'm a huge fan of vinyl and the staff were very knowledgeable and helped me find what I needed. Clean store. More new vinyl than used, but a great shopping experience nonetheless.
Nice place, small shop with good assortment of everything for new djs, nothing old school.
Terrific shop with knowledgeable staff. Also, great selection of equipment to meet the needs of novice or pros.
I couldn t be happier with my purchase. Shoutout to Sam for easing my indecisive mind. While the turntable and speakers are great, it s their zine they throw in, Quarantine Times, that is the cherry on top of my new sonic sundae. It s a lot of fun and gives the personal touch that s so needed and missed these days. And it comes in an excellent folder to keep all your instructions and receipts in one place. Nice touch. Get your gear from TTL. You won t be disappointed.
Friendly staff, top choice selection, a staple of the east village, NYC, and DJ community
David and Daniel were great! I needed help downloading music and they urgently solved the problem and were incredibly sweet. Great store and great service!
Nice place to buy classic vinyl of all genres, also sell equipment for dj, puas, spare parts of trays. Some house jewelry in vinyl format you can find
I went to buy some accessories for vinyls: barbed cleaner, antistatic vinyl brush and I found it. It's not that they have a lot of variety but it's fine. The turntables they sell are good basic. The most sophisticated is Clearaudio's basic model, which is very good. For those looking to buy something decent without spending a lot, it seems good. The variety of vinyl is reduced, they are all new but they have interesting things that are worth reviewing.
Great customer service. They helped me look for the records for my friend.
Helpful staff. Good selection of audio equipment, like speakers you can actually listen to before pulling the trigger. Good selection of new and reissued records of many genres.
A well curated selection of stereo equipment, and best of all...the best vinyl out there.
It's been few weeks I was lookingo the web site and did not get a chance to stop to the store. So I finally did. Friendly staff and great advices!!
It took more than 8 months to deliver a pre-sale extending the date every two months, customer service is terrible, do not answer emails and it is very difficult to communicate with them.
Great place! I mean look at the pictures! This place looks amazing and has great stuff. Keep it going
Of the best record stores in New York, recommended for every lover of electronic music.
The people here are super helpful and friendly. Amazing curation of vinyl.
Good prices and a lot of records. Employees are helpful and nice.
Love all the different record players in the beginning of the store. Thought it would be a little bigger but they still had a great selection.
Ordered online 2 weeks ago, order still unfulfilled. Customer care staff member over email is quite useless, does not answer questions, copy/pastes links from FAQs, the information which does not work in their favor. Zero support, shopping user experience is the worst yet. Not even sure if its worth the time to file an official complaint
Great Store, great choices and the staff is friendly and competent!!
My experience here was phenomenal!!! Not only friendly staff but knowledgeable staff as well. An extensive vinyl collection that's very well organized made my visit an extremely pleasant one. What more could you ask for? This was my first time visiting and it definitely will not be my last. Keep up the great work!!!
Knowledgeable and helpful staff that got me all set up with a new turn table when my last died.
I do find great selection of electronic music ...the suff at the store is also very polite, and knowledgeable. I give it 5 *
Honestly the best record shop in NY, and that's saying something! Super cute, modern, CLEAN, friendly staff and a huge selection of records (especially OST's). come here and be empressed for yourself
New storefront is awesome. If you need it, they got it at TTL.
Great selection of records. Had some free Princess Nokia stickers at checkout! :^)
Very helpful and friendly staff. Didn't try to oversell me on super expensive gear. They got me the best system for my price range and expertise. I'll be going here again in the future.
Been there 20 min waiting for help. The guy was completely unpolite not even asking if we need something. The selection of turntable is limited colors too. Just buy online
Grimy hustlers told me they d fix my pop-up light in their shop when I called. I brought my 1200 all the way in from Long Island, only to get told they don t do any service like that there. They did nothing to make up for misleading me to come all the way there. Unprofessional shop. Don t give them your money.
Excellent service. I had somewhat of an idea of what I wanted before walking in but the salesperson was able to work within my budget and we got a new turntable system perfect for my apartment!
Was originally impressed by their solid selection and solid online storefront, but was really blown away with their customer service. They respond very quickly to emails, and the rep that helped me out (Aidan I believe) was really kind and helped resolve all my questions. My order came very fast and everything was in great shape when it arrived.
Awful. Tried to buy a shirt they were running paid ads for on Facebook. Ordered from their online store only to have my order cancelled out of the blue due to 'no stock'. When I asked why they are still running ads for the shirt and allowing consumers to buy the shirt via their site, they said, 'system's broke'. Customer service rep had no clue whether or not they would restock- totally useless. There are much better indie shops that have their stuff together and don't dupe consumers.
Usually order online, but the customer service is excellent. This is my first time in the store and it's great!
Best place for your turntable set up! Great blogs and products offered online & in-store and the guys at the brick and mortar are so helpful. We have a Pro Ject Debut Carbon that we want to convert to a minimalist set up from the old school set up it has now and they have been so helpful. They show you what the options and work-arounds are, let you listen to the equipment and are so super nice during it all. Oh, they also have a really good selection of vinyl to go with your shiny new red turntable with acrylic plate!
This is a low key place with a fantastic vinyl collection. Best of all they have excellent service . They also have very good quality turntables and speakers with accessories Definitely worth a shopping spree!
Just received my first vinyl order and Wow!! Thoroughly impressed with every aspect. I will be ordering here from now on.
Pretentious as hell. Just the way I like it. Very expensive in the technology department, but that's just because they carry high-end stuff. The record selection includes a lot of fringe stuff. If you're looking for your standard old rock used records this isn't the place to go, but good prices and selection in general for new items.
Bought a new turntable and speakers here. In addition to gear, they also have vinyl records and some pretty great gear bags.
Outstanding! Went in to check the place out, ended up purchasing two albums. Nice selection of Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae. Not to mention turntables and such. I will definitely visit when I'm in the mood to add to my vinyl collection.
very knowledgeable, polite and helpful staff. the products offered are good quality, some of them a bit pricey and yet if you're ready to spend few extra bucks, that's the place to go. their records collection is pretty good too!
Customer service is alive and well here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place!
I went specially for a shure needle that were discontinued but they still have in their website. Waste of time.
Excellent company. I have placed a number of orders with Turntable Lab and have had nothing but the best experience. I have had to contact customer service a couple of times due to my own error and they were so very helpful. They made sure my order was correct. Records are well packed and arrive quickly. They have an excellent selection and I'm always happy with my orders.
I'm ride or die TTL since 2001. They are the original influencers. They influence the influencers. Real Hiphopers, real DJs, real NYC.
A steady standby and a record haleaven for those obsessed. These guys and girls have brought their once tiny shop in the depths of the east village over to E 10th street where limited edition runs, new releases and record players mash up for one of the best shops I ve ever been to! Service is amazing and hey have their own line of clothing and bags to boot! So happy their in the hood - the new revamped space is minimalist and modern and also carries Dj equipment and stereo frippery!
A vinyl junkies heaven. Amazing and varied selection of new, used, classic and rare vinyl across genres. I will have to come back and check out the gear here too. Don't let the name fool you - turntables and so much more.
Slowest shipping on the planet, will not order from you guys ever again, 5 days later still hasnt shipped, had to email customer service just to get a tracking number that still doesnt show it shipped.
Just purchased an Ortofon 2m Cartridge mounted on an SH-4 headshell. I made a mistake in purchasing the headshell. I have a tangential tonearm on my Denon DP300F. Having never mounted a cartridge I reached out for help. I received none. When I got home to do the job, I reached out again and nothing but an auto reply email. The product arrived in perfect condition. However, you are on your own if you have any questions. Customer service is non-existent.
Sweet little vinyl, turntable & audio shop. Wish I'd have discovered it sooner.
Not shopping here again. I bought a pair of Audioengine A2+ speakers at Turntable Lab 5 years ago; haven t used my turntable much; went to use it again this week & the speakers would not work. Went to Turnable Lab - new location! - to ask for help, & they had no help to offer. Would not look at the speakers, which I had brought along. No interest in helping out their customer. Call Audioengine, they said, but did not have even a phone # to offer. Terrible service, can t back the products they sell, want only to make the sale, and after that, you re on your own. Terrible customer relations.
Excellent customer service and pretty good collection of vinyls.
They got some gems in here hiphop, jazz, rock, funk. Good world section found some American jazz funk, and middle eastern jazz funk.
Nice selection, pretty cool staff,1/3 was a bit indifferent... I was shopping for my sixteen-year-old so there was a ton of stuff that I would have been able to rock out to. Rock classic, HiP HoP and ton of 45s, but as far as her musical tastes which is indie pop, the choices were limited. Lots of artist merch and high end equipment.
The selection can be a bit pricey, but nevertheless it's a cool spot to check out. Plus some of the staff members are really good DJs (check out their Groundwire DJ sets, they're worth it!). Also, the in-store live stream DJ sets by numerous talents are great as well.
Delicious vinyl selection at fair prices. Very friendly staff.
Friendly staff. Super clean store. Awesome selection of music and sound gear. Reasonably priced t shirts. 10/10
Great experience at Turntable Lab, would strongly recommend. Super patient, took time to explain a lot of the basics as we got out first record player and speakers, and came in well under the budget I gave her. Will certainly be back.
Great shop if you want it here and now. Easy to find records, good selection and a nice choice of tee-shirts. Staff could be a bit more friendly tho.
One of the best spots for any audiophile and record collector.
Horrendously slow shipping. Like weeks....it s 2019 shipping should take 4 days max anywhere in the country. Period. I could have ordered my item from amazon 10 times over and it still hasn t shipped from TTL. Very disappointed.
Beautiful store. They don t carry any older parts or do repairs, but no one does really. Great selection of good stuff.
Placed an Internet order for a Denon turntable with their upgraded needle package. The needle was installed by them into the head. Price was great for the package, arrived promptly and with secure packaging and super happy with the new turntable - sounds great and I'm so pleased I upgraded the needle. Funny thing was - I live right near their store and didn't make the connection until my girlfriend pointed it out. Would use them again for all the right reasons.
Good selection of vinyls as well as all the equipment you might need to enjoy it. I was there on a weekend and the place was crowded which made me very happy. Always glad seeing small business prosper.
Great selection for a small place, friendly people, really good listening stations
Great selection of very rare records! Every vinyl lover should have been here once!
I'm so happy with Turntable Lab right now. I ordered 2 things from them recently, and one was a record, which was perfect. The other was a shirt as a gift for someone. I got the wrong size in the mail, so I decided to return it. The process was really easy as long as you look up how they want you to do it. I returned it with my own label so I wouldn't be charged a fee for using their shipping label. But I was still charged the little fee, which means my refund is reduced by a bit. I sent a message asking about this and explained what had happened. It took a couple of days, but I have just gotten a response and the rest of my refund. Ashley Parrill, the head of customer service helped me out with that. Thank you! I will definitely order from this store again. :) Great customer service goes a long way, and you have it!
Really nice store with a great selection of vinyl and really friendly staff
I ordered a pre-amp from this company online and the power cord stopped working within 3 weeks. When I reached out to them they said it wasn t their issue and that I should buy another power source able from another vendor and then did some research online about this company and it looks like I m the not first person who has had weird interactions with them. Some people even claim that it is a fraudulent online retailer. Don t know what s up, but totally whack when you drop $100 on equipment that doesn t even work and they won t be offer you even store credit. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE.

About Turntable Lab
Turntable Lab ("TTL" or "The Lab" as They're known to Their customers) was established in 1999 by Anthony Cattarina, Jasper Goggins, and Peter Hahn in Peter's college apartment. The trio formed the idea for the Lab based on numerous negative experiences at stores that sold dj equipment: both big musical instrument chains and shady Canal Street stereo stores. Turned off by haggling, uninformed salesmen, and questionable product, Turntable Lab built its business on fair pricing, informed reviews, and a well researched selection of “Lab approved” items (aka The Formula).
