Such an incredible resource. They have very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff/ volunteers. There's a cute little gift shop. Beautiful setting! Lots of super interesting educational exhibits and literature.

A great place to get away from the city and feel like you are all alone in nature. The winding trails offer privacy in areas and others have wide open views out into the wetlands. Check the visitor center hours for more education, but there are also signs throughout and maps to offer learning.

This place was gorgeous!! We took our two kids, 5 and 6, who thought it was fun. We went to the visitor center first and got a check off list of things for them to find. This really added to their experience. Since it's winter, only some trails were open. We can't wait to go back in spring/summer to see the rest of it. It's worth the visit!!

Absolutely love tbis place. It's free and has so much to offer. Visitors center, paved walking paths and incredible wildlife every time of the year. Nice place to take the kids or take a romantic walk with someone special.

Nice place to take a walk, observe the nature and birds. Follow the gravel trails along the river, watch the sunset and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Bicycles are not allowed. The gravel trails makes it not friendly to strollers or wheelchairs, unless you have an off-road one. In fact, the noise from my baby's stroller rolling onto the gravel scared the birds and little animals away .

Very pleasant area to walk around. It is walk path only...so no biking or running. Surprised me a little, but it was actually pretty relaxing! Some area for relaxing, bird watching, etc. Check it out!

Sadly the Ridge that was supposed to be overlooking the whole refuge was pretty much enclosed by trees and had no view. Other than that it was a great hike! Definitely a spot you can casually visit again and again

First visit to this refuge. It was hot today (85f) but the long trail had a good mix of covered trees and open spaces. Lots of birds. Due to COVID the bathrooms weren t open :-( but that s understandable. I encourage a visit. Trails are gravel and great for strollers too.

Lovely, peaceful environment. Most of the hiking trails are closed for the Fall-Spring to protect the birds, but still has some nice views especially of the river. The Nature Center is informative as well.

A wonderful place to go for a hike, or to simply sit and enjoy some silence. I do wish is didn't close at dusk, but safety first I suppose lol. A girls scout troop has placed a small container for visitors to sign. It was missing a pen the last time I saw it, so bring a writing utensil if you can. Just in case you find it lol.

Great little hike you can borrow binoculars in the ranger station for free. Saw bunches of critters and a mature resident bald eagle. Always a majestic sight. Bathroom is available at the far end of the loop. Lots of baby ducks and geese.
