I was at TV show party and was slipped a drug. I went into a seizure and was brought to this hospital. The nurses were horrible to me. They ripped my catheter out and made me bleed just to put a diaper on me and said I deserve the humiliation of the diaper because I'm an "alcoholic" even though I was there for my seizure which happened 3 times that night. They took all my clothes off and left the curtain open for everyone, staff and patients, to see me when they walk by. It wasn't until my fiancee arrived at the hospital that the curtain was closed, by him. Later that night I was awake but couldn't move or speak, couldn't open my eyes. Someone came into the room and held my hand, I thought it was my fiancee. I squeezed the hand of that person only to be slapped twice by that person while they yelled at me "STOP RESISTING" the next morning my fiancee was in my room and I asked him to help me dress and get me the hell out of there. He snuck me out. I cannot believe how they treat people here. I called a week later to complain and they said that they would update me on how the issue will be resolved and give me the names of the nurses that "took care" of me. The was November 1 of 2016, I still have yet to receive a phone call.

healthcare in canada is a joke. the doctors barely spend time on patients. now i m sure that this problem isn t exclusive to trillium. however here is my story. my mother had been in and out of this hospital for the past 2 years staying for a few weeks at a time. but guess what none of that helped because just a few months ago she died unexpectedly. they failed to diagnose her properly or provide adequate long term treatment and care. it was only until the autopsy that they figured out there was something wrong with her liver. everyday i cry myself to sleep because i wish that i took her to a better hospital. i regret not fighting hard enough for her. it will forever haunt me that something so severe went undiagnosed. let this be a message to you all. always seek more opinions and don t settle for mediocre treatment.

Sad when you go to emerg and the nurses are making fun of a girl who came in and was sucidal and who had taken pills. Thoughts and prayers for whoever she is but nurses are completely heartless. Cant believe ontario's healthcare system is this disgusting. Also nurses are on personal sites, and discussing inappropriate things while patients are sitting right next to their desk.

They really need to do something about the parking. Literally have to spend about half hour going floor to floor checking for an empty spot. Also they charge ridiculous amount. $16 for like 2 and half hour. Besides that the staff are all very nice and professional.

Great hospital! Most of the staff are nice and friendly but of course a company wouldn't be a company without the not the nicest employee. Also, they renovated the cafeteria and it changes all the employees, visitors and patients lives!

And oh they have STARBUCKS inside the hospital! Yes! You read it right! There is a Starbucks at trillium hospital! No more water down coffee form tim hortons. And if you're wondering where the Starbucks is, they're located at the basement level inside the cafeteria. They have a little place at the end of the cafe! They also have the most friendliest baristas :)

Had several family members and myself make use of the various wards from Day surgery to CCICU. Myself was treated in Emergency, couple minor surgeries, day procedures and lso gave birth to my child at Trillium. In all the years we were all treated with excellent care by great physicians and nurses. The one star instances are due to cuts in provincial government funding where lack of beds or rooms are available! For instance I was recovering in a hallway with several others who were there for days. I was vocal and had health insurance so I was moved quicker into a ward room that had 24 hour guests. That isn't beneficial to anyone who is recuperating or receive treatment.
Private rooms are a rare commodity but need to be available more readily for serious instances. My parents recovered from heart surgery in great care but some patients were not as lucky and in a hall?! .

Desaster left my mom in the hallway for over 48 hours and when i talk to the person in charge she siad no rooms so what kind of hospital that treats there patients like animals im very upset there service is garbage other then that nurses are so loud in the hallway will never go back there worse hospital unsuccessful management.

I went because I have a heart concern but the waiting list was unbelievable. Is this the kind of care we have in Canada. Also at the entrance of the emergency department they have the sign saying that "if you are sick do not visit" , what do you suppose to do be healthy before you go to the hospital

MRI administrator told me me off and that I had to call the doctor s office who had told me to call the MRI office. Doctor s office is saying they can t do anything as they haven t received anything from the MRI office. My father possibly has 2 months to live and neither of the medical care professionals are willing to help.

I had a ear operation yesterday morning (April 7th. 2015) with Dr. Joseph Chen, he did an excellent job. And I received an excellent care from the nurse at the reception, the anesthesiologists, and the nurses in the operating room. Many thanks to everyone. God bless them all.

Worst hospital in Toronto. The lady at the reception was so rude and "had issues" with 1.5 year old toddler crying in some pain. Waited for around 3 hours in "Emergency" and doctor said he doesn't know anything about the issue we had and wanted us to move to another hospital instead.

Save yourself from trouble and go to some other hospital instead in case of emergency.

Note: This review is about trillium's urgent care center. I don't know about other sections in the hospital and can't comment on them.

I went to the children clinic June 24 2016 at 7pm. There was no doctor. the receptionist said the person decided no to show up to work. Its unbelievable that they couldn't find someone to replace the person. They didn't seem to care. such a waste of time!!

My boyfriend came to the hospital desperate for help after a mental breakdown. He s been struggling with mental health for years and suicidal thoughts, the doctor didn t care at all, and was told he s fine and to leave. This hospital is disgusting and he s now suffering every day by trying to force himself into thinking there s nothing wrong and he needs to man up . I m absolutely nauseated.

Had the tramatic displeasure of dealing with a very unprofessional and rude nurse. I politely let her know that i have been told before that anytime I get blood taken, I should ask the person to use a butterfly needle as my veins are small and usually difficult to get otherwise. She abruptly responded "i i know how to do my job". Then carried on to attempt to draw blood. During that time, she kept raising her voice at me that I needed to relax because I was the reason she couldn't get enough blood. I was exhaused, in horrible pain, in a very emotional state and being spoken to like I was a disobedient child was not helping me to relax and she was quite noticeably annoyed. After she dug around with the needle under my skin for what felt like an eternity, she finally removed the needle and then complained at how little blood she got because i wouldn't relax my arm. The massive bruise that i have on my arm is by far bigger and more sensitive than I have ever had from having blood drawn. Shortly after I heard her very loudly discussing my results in the hall (even with the door closed I heard everything). I actually heard more of my results being discussed in the hall then the doctor even disclosed to me....and i am certain that she was discussing my results because she said my first and last name. It was an awful experience.

I would like to share my father s nightmare and horrible and I mean horrible experience at Trillium Queensway Hospital. He was dumped in Emergency for 2 days knowing he was close to having another heart attack. Negligent care by the nurses, lied to and left unattended after identifying patient was experiencing breathing problems. Nurse was advised and agreed patient needed more oxygen, said he would give him more. Can you believe we find out later he wasn t given more oxygen, instead nurse advised he s sleeping. Monitor not working properly asked to check blood pressure nurse said he can t check because patient removing electrodes of his body. Can you believe this. 4 hours later doctor out of the blue calls me he s dead. Can you people believe it s been 5 days and No One has cared to call my family about what his prognosis was? What led to the heart attack? Absolutely NO information. Instead when I was there to see my father, there was urine on the floor, no toilet in the room and nurses sitting on the computers. No patient care. Not sure if this is normal on the midnight shift. Long story short-hospital is absolutely filthy, lack professionalism, very poor communication skills, lack of discipline, poor training, lack of empathy, don t care attitude, lack of knowledge how to care and deal with different types of patients. I do not recommend this hospital at all. I have heard only terrible stories about this hospital and just want the public to know. If you call the hospital they talk about State of the Art Care what a joke to say the least. The hospital needs to review basic care policies first-they are jumping ahead of themselves, accomplish things first-Need to better understand what it means to genuinely care and be compassionate towards people. This is where it first starts BASIC s!!!!!!!!! If you can t be respectful and compassionate and really care for people as you should then you will never be the State of the Art Hospital you so try to be. I am devastated and very disturbed of our experience at the Trillium Hospital and do not wish upon these experiences for anyone that enters their doors. Please stay safe everyone and read the reviews on this hospital, it s freightening.
Please take special precautionary measures when dealing with this hospital. You need to protect yourselves before coming here. They do not communicate with you about your loved ones in the hospital and god forbid if your love one lacks oxygen- Beware before it s too late. You need to stay in the hospital with your love one otherwise you may lose them forever, it may be too late when you get that call from a doctor you didn t even know was suppose to be watching over your love one. Be prepared to bring cleaning supplies with you and a portable toilet for your love one as not all the rooms have a toilet and are forced to pee in a bottle by themselves. If they end up ufinating in the floor the unfortunately end up walking in their own puddle. Could be hours before cleaned up. Be sure to call the hospital regularly as you won t get any updates if you don t call. Beware of the information you get. Honestly, we did not know who the nurse and who the doctor was. Information you do get is mixed information and all over the map. Ineffective communication and lacking professionalism. One doesn t know what their doing from the other. Pathetic to say the least. Protect yourselves people. Be sure to demand your doctors there speak with you about your loved ones prognosis and god forbid they throw you in emergency and neglect you for days, my god that is the worse that can happen. It s so scary entering this place. Say your prayers to god for protection only god can protect you from this mad house. God bless and again BEWARE!!!!

I'm in the neurosurgical ward. My experience here is very good. Nurses and staff are very nice, efficient and professional. Cleaners come in everyday. Food is not bad considering it's hospital food. The only complaint is from my visitors, very confusing to navigate around the hospital. Overall, my stay here is very good

Went to the ER on a Wednesday morning, staff were professional and their system of queue works really efficiently. I've spend just under 1.5 hours, that time span includes registering, waiting, seeing an ER doctor, getting an X-Ray and seeing the ER doctor again after the X-Ray for the results. I must also add that there were quite a lot of people waiting ahead of me as well, about 8 people. The only negative experience I had was one lady trying to panhandle $2 from me while I was waiting.

Our one year old son was battling a bad cold and fever for several days and we brought him to the Kidz Klinic under recommendation of our GP. The pediatrician that was on staff Friday January 30th, 2015 was extremely thorough. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and very quickly admitted to hospital where the exceptional service continued under the watch of nurses Barb and Nenita. At the onset our little guy was upset with all the clinical checks, however, at the end he was smiling with the nurses and sad to say good bye. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses that looked after him and nursed him back to health. He continues to improve every day since he left.

One of the worst hospitals and the worst medical care. Working very rough. We stayed there for 6 hours, 4 times sat in the line and during this time we did not do any analysis and never saw the doctor. We left without receiving any help. And this is Canada. The highest taxes in the world and the worst medicine.

Every person; whether nurse, doctor, porter, X-ray or Admin; has been absolutely amazing, especially considering the current situation. I ve seen the negative reviews and I have not seen anything resembling their issues. I left feeling cared for, taken care of going forward and most important HEARD! Thank you all for helping me in my crisis and just what you do day to day!

My family. Myself, Grandparents on both sides. Mother and friends have all received inhumane treatment and negligent care. Now an 11 year old girl has suffered from this disgusting hospital. She was misdiagnosed an the bacteria infection has now resulted in her having to lose both her legs. This Hospital and its staff need to be eliminated from healthcare. Period. Her name is Nupur Mate. Articles on her around March 20-21st 2017

They saved my mom's life. I could never have imagined such great, attentive service in an Ontario hospital. Everyone was quick to react and very informative with our family.

Very short wait times compared to other hospitals as well.

Thank you for being so fantastic!

My two year old brother had a coughing fit last night and he couldn't even breathe properly, so we drove him to Trillium hospital and waited for over 5 hours. After almost 6 hours there was still no doctor.
My entire family wasted over 5 hours in the hospital, paid over $20 for the hospital parking fees.
My brother is still coughing and sobbing. We all paid the hospital money to spend almost 6 hours waiting in the waiting room. Nobody slept a wink, and my parents still have work the next day. Waited until almost 7 am, and they still don't know when the doctor will be available.
Horrifying customer service. Every time we asked for the approximate wait time, they said "I don't know." If they told us what the wait time was ACTUALLY GOING TO BE then we would have been properly informed and left sooner.
I remember last time I went to emergency care in Scarborough, the hospital was efficient and informing. Great customer service there at least.
We have always donated money to this hospital in the past, but now, never again. Unless one is dying within 10 minutes, never take someone you care about to this hospital, however, it's a great place to take your enemy if you want them to wait to death.

Waiting period after surgery is ridiculous, less than 2 hours knee surgery went ontime. An hour to two hour recovery room went for 6 hours and cpunting still at recovery because they waited for a room that hasnt been clean yet. I mean really? If thwy dont have room available i would understand it more but because of the room still not clean uet even after 6 hours waiting at recovery room that just unbelievably crazy. And the evening nurse, didnt know her name but she was asian (i think is filipino, sorry i didnt mean to racial at all here, i just dont know how to describe it better) she was rude, i was standing to strect my leg and reading some of my dad medical cart (which i dont understand anyway) and she rudly asking me "is there anything you want to know?" (whithout saying excuss me, sir or anything polite) i reply no, just looking and she responded to me "i saw you reading the paper and you dont understand". Exactly my point i dont understand anyway so why she so obnoxious about it. And plus is my father health cart report, the hospital have nothing to hide, so in a way i still have right to know in regards of my dad health and recovering conditions eaither i ask the nurse or read the cart my self. Unbelieveable. And the same asian nurse she talking loudly with her coworker in a diffrent language (which i believe is tagalog) in front of all recovery patient (there isnt much patient at recovery room, but still), my dad was a sleep and i can hear they both talking loudly and clear. Unbelievable, at recovery room and she the Registered nurse, i wonder where she got the nursing degree if she have no attitute towards the patient? Really not happy with this. Other nurse was really nice and polite. The asian nurse should keep her voice down, most importantly in a olace like this she should know better to talk in english not other language.

I came to this hospital hoping for answers. I am constantly sick and it just so happened this day I got in from a jog sat at my dinner table and started to feel extremely dizzy, disorientated and lost my eye sight temporarily. I waited from 5PM to 9:30PM only for the dr to tell me that it wasn't a stroke I am 160lbs and fairly active I knew it wasn't a stroke my concern was diabeties seeing as it runs on all sides of my family. He said it wasn't diabeties HOWEVER how can that be determined without even having blood work done? they did NOTHING but sit me up in a room for hours for no reason at all, most ignorant arrogant nurses (most) not all and useless dr that was working this night because he was pushing all patients out the door... UNPROFESSIONAL at its finest.

My father is currently dying at this hospital, I l...

My father is currently dying at this hospital, I live in a town called Blenheim which is 3.5 hrs west of Mississauga (I was born and raised in T.O.)..I used to work with people dying of HIV/AIDS back in the days when ignorance of that disease meant people were afraid of hugging someone with it..forget the prospect of ACTUALLY holding their bare hands while they passed (sarcasm alert)...
I have had a niece fight leukemia at Sick Kids in T.O. (she is alive and well thanks to their efforts and my nephew giving bone marrow) and was at Toronto Western myself for more than a month when I was 17 (I'm 48 now).My wife and I had the misfortune to see our 17 year old son (my stepson) be treated and ultimately die at London health sciences back in 2005..so I have had a chance to compare a few hospitals...and am NOT new to the health care world..
This hospital is horrible! I have a hard time getting someone to care enough to do the most simple things (I had to phone the nursing station directly across from my Dad's room 3 times just to get the poor guy a can of cold, diet ginger ale..and they seem to be oblivious to the fact that he is actively dying, he has had bladder control issues as of 2 days ago and rather than put a cath in (as I suggested) they diaper him...so now he gets to lay in cold piss until someone gets around to him..I can't even get a call back from one of his doctors (his cardiologist has been an exception) and have given them my phone number 6 or 7 times!!!!!!!!
I know it's a stressful job..thankless too...I know that families can be demanding and hard to deal with (and on and on)..and I know they go through seeing people come in and die on a regular basis..but as I told one of the nurses a couple of weeks back "This man is just a patient to you , and he may even be a bit of a pain in the butt and stubborn at times..but he is someone I love deeply..so PLEASE try to empathize"....
So it will come to pass that he will expire very soon, and they will wheel his body out and bring another patient in (likely faster than it takes for my father's body to cool to room temperature)..and life will go on...I pray no-one else has to experience what we have at this hospital and if it were me? I would rather die in the parking garage.... at least the attendant down there seemed nice...

Good.

I have never wrote reviews in my lifetime but I must write one for this crappy hospital. I am not complaining about waiting time which is pretty much expected anywhere in Canada. However, today my mother in law went to the urgent care which lasted for 6 hours. A doctor ordered a test which was never explained what it was and what it is for. We still waited for 45 mins to just get the appointment for the test (still not sure what it is). They came and throw the date for the testing without asking our availability. And when I asked a nurse on how to reschedule, she said we need to come in and reschedule. She also kept on saying this is important testing. Of course we know it's important but in order for my mother in law to come in and go through the testing, she needs to be accompanied by me or others since she doesn't understand a word of English. For that reason, we needed to make sure that rescheduling is available for us to go with her. The nurse kept on saying rescheduling is not really possible and we needed to come on the date and time they came up with. Just don't go there for any reason. MOREOVER, I saw a girl at the registration desk laughing at a lady who asked for direction to take to pick up her mother who's had surgery. The lady must have been anxious and yes she was little slow on understanding instruction on where to go. Once the lady left, the nurse at the registration laughed at her and said she was the dumbest person...
Oh well you get the idea. Horrible horrible horrible!

Terrible experience.. after sitting there 4 hours watched people go ahead of me even after they came after me. I still tried to be patient & helped another patient check in only to be told I m not allowed to help, yet no one else helped her as she was waiting for her son who wasn t there. After 4 hours got up and left. TERRIBLE service from front desk.

My experience here has been that the staff treat you well. I have gotten along with both nurses (day & night) as well as the doctor. They answered any and all questions I had, explaining in a way that I understood. We had the goal of getting me back on my feet and I am very grateful for their kind and efficient treatment.

Amazing experience. Went in to ER this morning at 10:45 with painful infected cyst which neither my family doctor nor dermatologist will drain. I was out by 12 after the cyst was drained, removed and sutured. Awesome nurses and wonderful doctor who handled the issue really well. Compassionate, attentive, gentle approach, constantly asking me if I'm ok or in pain. Even the young parking attendant helped me tremendously in finding a parking spot, when I couldn't find anywhere to park and circled back to him asking for help. I'm grateful for their help!!

I got to test the Canadian healthcare system last week, and I am happy to say it is alive and well. I had surgery to reattach my bicep tendon. From the incident to completion of surgery took 13 days. I am happily on the mend without complications. It was very organized, staff was great, surgeon (Abbas) was fine, facility was fine, no excessive waiting and best of all... it didn't cost me anything! That surgery costs $30K in the US.

Must say I am impressed with how well and how fast I was treated. Literally was done within 2 hours. Will be having my baby at this hospital as well. Doctors and nurses are the best here. 5 stars. Thank you to the staff for your kindness.

An all-inclusive team approach is not used i.e. can only fix one thing at a time which is not ideal for the elderly that have a complicated medical history. It also seems that notes are not read since I need to constantly repeat myself and even so mistakes are made. Mother had 2 falls during last stay which is not acceptable!

WORST HOSPITAL ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH! Stay far away, I don't know how many times we've been here with my husband having serious injuries. One time we waited 24hours just for them to send us home because the doctor we needed to see was not available anymore! Second time again we waited HOURS & nothing came from it, now this time as I write this my husband went in with serious headaches that have gotten worst over the past week & our doctor sent him in with a note stated RUSH APPOINTMENT, they tell him he'll need to start from scratch!? He's been there since 4pm and it's almost 9pm! I swear you could be close to death and they'll most likely have you wait 24hours before seeing a doctor! HORRIBLE HOSPITAL! You have been warned!

My Mom had a medical emergency and was transferred to Trillium-Mississauga location. She required immediate surgery and unfortunately did not have a bed for the duration of her stay, however, she could not stop "singing praises" about how great, compassionate, and helpful that the nurses were to her. My Mom was extremely happy with the level of care that she received during her time in this hospital and I am writing this review on behalf of her.

It is disgusting place. You may get sick if you there healthy. I turned back and ran away. I think we have to push politicians more to get appropriate health service. There are lots of good dr and nurse immigrants and they can be used to make the system work much better. They can be used for pre-assessment, ongoing support, health consultancy, patient follow up etc... If the reason of putting barriers at front of them is to protect patients from wrong treatments, I don't think they can do worse than most of the existing ones. I had hearing loss problem couple years ago and paramedics took me to scarborough general. It was a terrible experince. And the dr gave me medicine to stop vomiting. And referred a ear specialist who was on vacation and he knew that he was on vacation. He told me that it would take at least two weeks to see the dr. And when you search HEARING LOSS on google all articles say that the first days and hours even minutes are critical. As a result, either that dr was not a dr, or I can be much more knowledgable just with google search, or he doesn't care. And I think the reality is, most of them don't care. So we discourage new immigrant professionals even "discard" them and end up having this service from this kind of doctors. If it can be called as a service. I didn't mention even about nurses and the registration employees during my experince at the scarborough general. I will write them as well on scarborough generals review.

Formally they saved my life after heart attack, but I will never forget how I was abused, while lying helpless in bed in intensive care unit.
Nurses loudly making comments about my anatomy, not experienced nurses doing hundreds of punctures before they can take blood samples, nurse put a lipstick at night on me thinking that I am unconscious and showing me to her fellow b*tches giggling, arrogant snobby doctors refusing to discuss my condition because they are too busy, treating you like a piece of meat. Even when I was discharged, doctor still couldn't find time to come to me and eventually, after waiting 6 hours, I was given some papers by young nurse who didn't know anything.
Of course, I met some decent people , but overall experience is just horrible.
I just wish that medical professionals will be given the license not just based on the fact that they can remember some info from medical books , but also on some sort of tests checking what kind of a person they are.
I wish that for OHIP , in case of bad experience, we would have some consumer protection and option to get back the money we paid to help create this awful medical care system we have.

My child was about 18 months during her stay at the hospital, last April we were sent to the "RAZ" instead of the pediatrics department where my child waited in agony, pain and high fever for 8 hours before some doctor looked at her very briefly for just two minutes and then just ordered blood tests, and x rays when it was not needed, she just had some soar throat and high fever and cold. The nurses in the RAZ were not trained to draw blood from an 18 month old, they tried three times and the sample was rejected by the lab, and since my child was not drinking much fluid she could not produce a urine sample so they tried to persuade us in doing the cathoder method, but we declined. Finally after waiting for 12 hours at mid-night a pediatrician looked at our child and admitted her to get IV to restore fluids, but then again there was an old filipino nurse who was very rude and incorrectly attached the IV to my child's arm after only 1 hour she started bleeding heavily and when we called her and showed her she started blaming my wife for not holding the child properly when in fact the nurse had incorrectly attached the IV, then again after two days my child's entire arm swelled when the other nurse just removed the IV and then the doctor said we were free to go home, all this while my child's soar throat was worse and the high fever stayed and we were just told that this is a viral infection and that nothing could be done. We then finally went to our family doctor who gave my child antibiotics and with-in 24 hours our child started getting better the, fever was gone, the soar throat redness and pain went away and the cold went away. This was the worse hospital experience ever in my life and I hope no parent should go through this experience. The nurses and doctors need to be trained properly in med school and not experiment on patients and should be polite and should show some empathy for God's sake. We do pay taxes in this country for health care, it is not free.

Both of my children were born in this hospital the first was a nightmare experience that was only made bare able by the expert staff and support we got from the hospital. A week in the nicu where they essentially taught me how to be a parent. After classes provided on vbac in the family Center we had information that allowed us to make decisions and successfully have a natural birth on our secound child. I feel I owe a great debt to this hospital. All the staff we encountered were wonderful people.

Kid'z Klinic - would not answer their phone despite their clinic being empty when we arrived. Nurse at front desk was unsympathetic and spoke to you in a belittling manner. Closing time was likely more important than assessing a newborn.

Parking - charging people to much. If someone is in the hospital and a family member is visiting them to give support only a $5.00 fee per day. The parking is horrible at this location. The parking guys can give some leeway to parking when there is none. I was on my last sad visit, told I could park by parking lady only to come back to a ticket. I just paid it. I told staff and they said they didn't like parking or policy.

WAS 5 STARS; EDIT:

WAS 5 STARS; EDIT:
Part #1: My husband had surgery on his spine, so far he's been admitted for 3 nights...prob 2 more to go. From the moment we first walked up to the info desk, to the attendants who help him use the restroom, the techs & nurses who take his vitals & give meds to helping him clean in the morning; they're all fantastic people. Helpful, friendly staff who have helped my husband and his neighbour whenever they ask for help with pain and sleep. I'm so pleased he is having this experience; I don't feel as guilty for not being able to stay all day :). Thank you to Dr. Jhas for operating on my man for hours & thank you to all the friendly residents, nurses and attendants in pre-op. 1 prob: PARKING! Get there before 7 am if u can help it. Took me over a half an hour to turn left off of hurontario, into hospital & get into parking garage one morning (@ 8am)! Thank you Trillium.
PART 2, UPDATE: 11 more days have past since my 1st post- The next paragraph is an Edit/2nd post...
My husband is having post surgery problems, his incision (7-8 inches) is not healing, few ounces of clear liquid coming out daily, they say it could be spinal cord fluid, but surgeon has been gone for almost a week and won't be back until Monday; We are told a second surgery is possible. As of this morning, he's had additional staples stamped onto his incision on 3 separate occasions without freezing & now there is literally zero room between the staples. My man looks so sad, so tired and so skinny :( . We have no idea how much longer this might take & I miss him at home. In the meantime, the nurses, aides & cleaning staff are very friendly & helpful; just wish we could have a few mins with a Dr so we might have a better understanding of what it is we're dealing with. Btw, I just found out about the parking passes...Go to booth on 1st floor of parking garage, (close to entrance gates) & ask about the diff passes they offer. (Without it's $16 a day, OR $15 for 3 hours :/ ) I bought a 5 day pass for $40. Final "STAR" score...3/5...GOOD LUCK TO ALL :)

I had a spinal fusion and laminectomy at this hospital and not a day goes by where I am not thankful for my surgeon Dr. McBroom, the hospital staff, and the compassion they had for allowing my mother to stay with me. I was there for about 6 days and everyone, the nurses, PSW and physiotherapist were just amazing. Thank you Trillium hospital!

One night in April 2009, I waited for 9 and half hrs at Trillium Hospital, Queensway site, with excruciating right upper abdominal pain. The ER doctor arrived triumphantly after the lengthy wait and quickly prescribed a shot of morphine and insisted on plain diet after which he discharged me to go home. The green vomit and escalating pain resumed within couple of days. I was admitted being questioned by ER staff if it really hurt that much. I was diagnosed with pancreatitis despite that the pain was on the right side and the only indicator of inflammatory process of the pancreas was a slightly elevated lipase. I kept vomiting uncontrollably and the pain on right was 10/10. 5 days later under generous dosages of morphine and IVs, I was rushed to gallbladder removal laparoscopically as a day procedure at the Sherway site. I could not move after the surgery. My husband begged that we see a doctor and that I am kept in hospital. The nurses carried me to my husband's vehicle stating that I should call 911 and that I was going home since it was a day surgery. The surgeon started calling every morning at home to only disclose that when he pulled the gallbladder, he caused hemorrhage of the liver but it will be fine. We eventually returned to the hospital because I resumed the green vomit and the pain was unbearable. the ER doctor stated that he was informed by the operating surgeon " what the real issue was", and offered morphine. We insisted to see another surgeon. The other surgeon, who turned to be a gastro, identified herself as part of the same team of the operating surgeon, and stated that she "will do everything possible to prevent a law suit." She rushed me to perform shincterotomy of the liver and ERCP. Upon waking up, the attending nurse told us that this surgeon had to fix the messes of the previous surgeon and that more stones were found that were struck in the liver and spread through the abdomen. When we asked the cover up surgeon what happened she turned profoundly red and stated that all will be appropriately recorded in the report, she has not seen anything and she did not remember. She prescribed more morphine and despite my inability to walk or stand on my feet, I was discharged. Some months later, we managed to google the gastro initial doctor whose care I was under for the first 5 days at Trillium. My husband told him that I cannot move, stand, sit already almost 5 months. I explained that I cannot retain foods or liquids, the right upper side hurts immensely and unbearably much. He kept silence when we asked him what is next and stated that he will put all his recommendations to our GP. Our GP received a report within a few days stating that all is good, I was recovering well and did not need to see him. I deteriorated in the months to come at age of 33 to a point that I was completely and totally disabled, required assistance with showering and dressing, was on wheelchair and a social worker was sent by the school of our daughter to help us managing emotionally with my palliative care. We flew to Europe. I was on a wheelchair. I was operated within a few weeks in Bulgaria by the Bulgarian former minister of health and world known surgeon. He videotaped what he found, which was namely: the cystic ductus was left uncut despite the lie in the report that it was shortened. it was dangling 3.5 cms. It was wrapped with peripheral nerves which had to be removed. The main nerve of the liver- ganglion, along with the cystic ductus and the artery were clenched with metal clips. I was dying the slow and difficult way. He took away the clip, he released the artery, he shortened the cystic ductus and he completely had to remove the ganglion of the liver and the peripheral nerves. I woke up in ICU free from vomit and pain after a year of back ups that cost my dignity, my physical and emotional wellbeing and the enormous suffering of my family. This is Trillium to me and to my family!

BE AWARE!! my father was taken to the ICU as he had a seizure from a small head injury, before my father even got to the hospital they have told my family he will not make it. Everyday, the nurses and doctors pressured my family to let him go. While he was there, the nurses over night would sleep and not pay attention to him and monitor him. The nurses there simply do not care! for them it is just another patient, another bed. Lastly, a nurse by the name of Anthony did not even know what he was doing, he looked so confused and paid not attention to my father when he vomited, my father chocked and no one was there to look after him for over 15 minutes. My father was then parlayed and passed away. My father passed away at 58 because of the nurses negligence. He went into the ICU for a seizure and died because of something totally different. Our healthcare has gone down the drain. BE AWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL, THEY KILL !

Comprehensive Stroke Unit 4C-By far the worst department and the most negligent!! You cannot leave your family members in this department and trust that they are in good hands because they are NOT! They scheduled my father for an MRI which fatal in his case because he has shrapnel in his body which is WRITTEN ON HIS CHART!! Trillium is the third hospital he has been transferred to since he had his stroke last Saturday. MRI s we re avoided by every physician who has seen him for that reason. I coincidentally found out about the MRI after assuring myself by speaking to the nurse that had been given all the medications he needed for the night before I left. She assured me he was good for the night and scheduled for an MRI in the morning! I asked her how that was possible because he can t have MRI s and she asked me why? Just imagine you re trusting your family members lives in people s hands who don t even review their patients charts!!! This isn t the first incident we ve had at trillium since he was transferred on Friday. On Monday the day nurse didn t review his chart and schedule a CT scan like the nurse practitioner requested and wrote on his chart. She assured me nothing was ordered, my father insisted he was told he would have one that afternoon but it was already evening. I told her they had to do it and it was her fault and she said at the point of the day they only do emergencies. After arguing, raising my voice and having security called to escort me out because they refused to accept blame( they all defend each other like a cult). The nurse coordinator came up made one phone call and arranged for his CT scan to be done immediately. He was taken for his test within minutes. You have to babysit the nurses who are suppose to be doing their job. You have to follow up and be persistent for answers. I expect a call from the board of directors. I will be Pershing legal action. There is toooooo many instances of negligence!!!! Every family member of a patient in that unit agrees!!! Every patients family doesn t trust the nurses in the department with the exception of less than a handful who actually do their job and look after the patients.

My wife underwent a C Section on 4 th February 2018. I will be failing in my duty if I don t compliment the team for the excellent patient care delivered in this hospital.
Especially the nurses Tessa, Eva and Loretta who took great care of my wife and our baby.
Thanks and God Bless.

I like the valet parking service they provide. It's free of charge. You only pay for the parking fee. No extra charge for them to park your car and bring it back to you at the emergency entrance. I bought my mom to emergency yesterday. The valet person was so quick helping us to get a wheel chair and offer to park my car. What a great help when you are in a desperate situation. When we left late at night. They got my car and helped my mom get into the car. I really appreciated their service and gave them gratitude.

Worst experience ever. I am 3 months pregnant. Waiting to do an ultrasound the er nurses forgot about me. Didn t even tell mw to drink water nor anything. Kicked me out of the room and sent me to the waiting room. I decided after an hour of seeing people coming after me to go for ultrasounds i got pissed and ask. They forgot about me. Nor were they apologetic about wasting my time.
Reasons like this is why I avoid hospitals.
