A great drive up to the slopes even if your not into skiing.
A great drive up to the slopes even if your not into skiing.
Aw, such a good ski field with huge ski field area and great range of blue / red / black runs, but no snow! Once there is heavy snowfall TC will be back to its usual glory.
Love snow boarding and it was my first time at Treble Cone very happy with my day there.
Service is great the skiing is awesome, but the prices are over the top stupid, 135 for a day pass and 8$ stickers Oo
My Favourite Ski Field in the area. Great views. not for beginners compared to other ski fields in the area. The cafe is good can get crowded but food offerings are good.
Great terrain, friendly crew, best views out of all the ski fields in the area. What's not to love?!
Still waiting in line to get skis as I write this review. Watching those 10 behind me in line get served. No order at all and when we enquire we get told to keep waiting
Great for an intermediate or advanced skier...not so much for the beginner. They do have lessons available but would recommend other resorts for less of a pitch
Pretty average, lack of good bars on the slopes, overpriced drinks and lacks lifts
Awesome ski field for steep and deep powder. Amazing views on a nice day. The road up is scary if u haven't done it before....
Was good until they changed the prices. Cardrona will be the best once soho and pringles open
Loads of fun. It doesn't matter if you know skiing or not. Just take the snow chair and go up the mountain to soak in the views. Very friendly staff. Amazing views up the mountain!
Awesome place lots of powder and good runs. Is quite a step mountain for those in the intermediate range. Good and enjoyable place.
What a great location. Views are out of this world. Thou my fear of heights had me. But the views were well worth it.
Best ski field in NZ. Amazing views and the saddle basin is an amazing ski experience. Iconic.
Great day, tickets a lot more expensive than Cardrona.
Good mountain. Good casual services, small and not at all crowded, even on a Sunday.
Would be a 4 star review - except that on a Sunday, with beautiful weather and lots of visitors arriving, whoever runs the ticketing operations should be sacked. We arrived exactly 9am, and found there was ONE ticket window open for walk-up ticket sales at the busiest time for sales of the week. The queue was about 50m long. By the time we got our tickets (NZD $149 each) it was 10:10am. Basically wasted over an hour in line, for a resort with just 2 lifts. Given the shambolic and embarassing lack of customer service, we will not be returning. Have snowboarded all over the world, and can't believe how incompetent and infuriating the ticketing system is here. Buy a ticket online? Nope, can't do that. Nice scenery, once you've finally managed to get a ticket to get on a lift. Supposedly NZ's biggest snow area, but not run like one.
Amazing! Loved it, a little more advanced the slopes with some great testers for skill with their natural shutes and cliffs. The summit is great and the ability to Board/Ski all the way down was something amazing to do
Great ski area. Front side of the mountain did get very iced over due to the lack of snow. Back side of the mountain still performed well despite the same lack of snow.
Although NZs most expendable ski area (not just in ticket price) it also has advanced ski terrain that no other mountain in the world has. Get it while you can.
Very steep and fun, limited lift queues even in school holdiays compared to cardrona which had nightmare lift queues.
Excellent customer service. Fun field. Would use again. Great facilities.
Great slopes, very fun and interesting terrain with a lot of variety, and the best views out of any ski area around Queenstown/Wanaka area.
On top of all this they have great food and free bag storage unlike other ski areas which not only saves money but time.
Great snow, great atmosphere, great selection of food with more affordable price.
Not a learners mountain as there are limited green runs but there are fantastic blue, red and black runs.
Great skiing lovely mountain, pity about the foot deep muddy carpark.
Great views from the top of both chairs! Also enjoyed eating at the restaurant. The brisket was awesome!
Sick as mountain. Shred some groomers ae not too bad at all bloody good lifties pickle
Decent size mountain. Great facilities
Wasn t overly busy in September but softened up nicely later in the day on a sunny day.
Amazing view from the summit and totally worth the effort of the 10-15min walk up from the highest chair lift.
Best view and pizza among all the ski resorts I should have take more pictures!
And you will find lots of national ski teams training there! Very joyful watching them!
Great long runs! Pretty hard on some corners when it's busy! Cafe has good selection of food and drink.
Hard core runs epic terrain.. take your mates to Cardrona here
Awesome place to aki if you are intermediate skiier or better. Great snow and look at the view
Everything was great. Low rating based off my own personal preference for beginner ski runs which Treble Cone lacks. Highly recommended for advanced skiiers and boarders.
For a first time snowboarding TC has made it comfortable. Dane Verity ski instructor is great, can't recommend him enough.
Treble Cone is an excellent mountain for adventurous intermediates and above.
A large variety of terrain with a stunning backdrop of lake Wanaka.
Awesome afternoon teaching my children to ski on the free learners magic carpet.
Such a great resort! All the staff are so lovely. The skiing is the varied, lots of hard stuff but also lots of medium level slopes, and THE BEGINNERS AREA IS FREE including the magic carpet area and T bar
Great staff. Snow patrol guys abd medical staff awesome when i banged myself up. Thanks guys
As a skier, this is the best of the 4 main areas, amazing views. but still not on par with northern hemisphere skiing.
Great ski field of you are an advanced skier. Friendly service. Good opportunity to see Kia birds too.
If you are used to ski areas in France you will be disappointed.I dont think its worth it
Actually one of the worst ski resorts I've been to.
My favourite ski resort! On piste or off, satisfy your nirvana!
Best commercial mountain in New Zealand for advanced Skiers. Also has views to die for.
The nature was amazing, but there was no park and less intermediate course.
Amazing facilities for teaching kids. Free magic carpet perfect for young kids (had my 3 year old having a great time). The staff are amazing and very accommodating me. Parking and drop off facilities really handy and we'll staffed. A beautiful drive from Wanaka. Very highly recommend!
Nice place even in summer. If Restaurant would be open maybe some more biker would come... 1.5h with the mountainbike on the mountain road , not a single person met. Very good to drive
Great mountain but poor customer service, not the people working there but the management rules. I hear there might be a new owner soon and hope for the change.
Obviously amazing for expert skiers but not suitable for a couple of kids who want to explore blue runs. Signage is unclear on most runs, we found ourselves endlessly getting into really difficult terrain in icy conditions. Happy to get the kids out without injury. Only managed four runs in the day due to icy conditions. Food was great, Hot fresh muffins were amazing. Saw some of the best views I've ever seen. Road up is incredible but terrifying. Lot of hard core people having a fantastic time, it just wasn't for us. Maybe better snow conditions would make a big difference. Would come back if there was powder.
I was here in early August 2016. As a beginner - having experienced green slopes at Cardrona - Treble Cone's green slopes were definitely NOT "green" in comparison! The view from the top, however, was absolutely amazing - a must see
Not a good learners field but the best views of all the ski fields! Great transfer service too. I am sure for more experienced riders it's a good field as the runs (at least the green) is much longer than the other fields... warning, the real learners area has a TINY magic carpet and then a t-bar which you can imagine is hard to a real beginner. Staff were super kind and helpful though at the t-bar (or whatever it's called).
Great snow and view.
Also Cafe has the Best ever food etc..
Avoid at all costs!!!
The worst customer service of any Alpine resort I've ever been to. The people on this mountain have no regard for your enjoyment or experience. They deserve to go out of business.
There are many kinds of snow fields on the terrain, and only two cable cars can visit the whole snow field.
Great terrain, best coffee and view that you will never forget.
Quite enjoyed the skiing. School holiday queues were over 30 minutes. Access road unsurfaced.
The best ski field in NZ. Too bad they're not open for summer hiking.
For me and my partner this was our first time on the snow. We thought that Treble Cone was really accommodating for first timers. All the staff here were lovely and we especially wanted to thank Dane Verity who gave us snowboarding lessons- We met Dane before we had signed up for the lessons and he gave us a few tips to get us going! I would suggest not buying a lift pass till you get there as in our experience we spent a lot more money on buying a pass in advance when we only used the lift 1 out of the 5 days as we weren't experienced enough. We spent a lot of money on the lift pass when we could have gotten a way better deal buying a pass there and spending the extra money on more lessons. Also, we suggest renting your gear in town before heading up there as that will save you money as well.
