Fairytale restaurant. Very kind owners who welcomed us even without a reservation. Courteous and knowledgeable staff and delicious cuisine. I was no longer used to such an atmosphere. This was, hands down, the best meal I've ever eaten in Italy.... And I've had some great ones. Every dish was fresh, perfectly prepared and glorious in its simplicity. The staff was thoughtful and attentive.
If you are within 500km of Bologna you should seriously consider reserving a table for the evening. I understand why it already has high rankings on other sites.
Small trattoria with excellent food. Mainly traditional menu with some variation on the theme. Very nice owner, linked to the cultural food traditions of the Bolognese mountain. Low prices, considering the high level. In short, excellent.
A lust for the palate. But only for those who have taste buds able to grasp the goodness of ingredients and raw materials together with the ability to make them become dishes, to eat and enjoy and not useless works of art. I didn't get to eat here as well, and was told straight out that it was fully booked for the entire time I'd be in Bologna. He was polite and apologetic (though it definitely wasn't his fault)
I feel stupid leaving a review for a place that I haven't dined in, but I can't stand the fact that it has reviews with low ratings just because people didn't get to eat there. Hopefully this review helps bring the true average up to what it'd be without those false reviews.
Tl;dr: BOOK AHEAD.
We were able to get a seat at 7 and were grateful. Food was just wonderful, excellent service. Highly recommend. The first time the manager simply said all tables for the next few days were booked out so we didn't question any further. The food was really good and the waitress that served our table was really friendly, polite and helpful.

Everything is excellent, great quality of food and ingredients, an elegant yet elegant setting, all with a reference to tradition.
I would have preferred prices in a bit lower but the price is paid and in any case the price / quality ratio is good.

Should be 10* not just 5* Amazing food, excellent service. Not a tourist area, it's in a residential area. We tried calling to setup a reservation (they don't pickup the phone) We drove there and you have to ring the bell to open the door. The owner is very nice and friendly. Food excellent, servers spoke English well and explained the whole menu. I will definitely drive all the way to Bologna to come back here every time I'm in Florence. Love this place.

Pleasant and not chaotic location, varied and well presented menu, whose almost verbose explanation (pleasant for my friends), excellent dishes (I went twice), good cellar, prices can be improved a little. Booking highly recommended
Popular to the point - don't expect to get a table even arriving at opening time. At least the staff were polite in letting the early birds down (6 of us / Saturday night). So book if you're coming for a quick stay. Can't comment on the food as didn't make it to the table

Worst restaurant in the entire Europe, arrogant staff at the fromt and how ridiculous it is with no walk-in tables available. Told them we re just visiting Bologna and wouldn t mind waiting for a table, arrogant staff said they aren t particularly tourist-friendly. The guy at the front even told us to go to the one in the far south cosidering we just walked a long way to the north for this restaurant in a temperature of 33C. Been to other one of the best restaurants in Bologna and they always manage to have walk-in available even though they re busy at the time. Not sure how can they be one of the best restaurants in Bologna with no walk-in tables available at all and with such stubborness in operating the business. Do NOT recommend.
For starter we had a delicious chicken liver pate with homemade brioche. It came with a delightful gel and some red currants giving a sharpness but hubby had a fresh parmesan wrapped in bacon and fried which was utterly sublime - I can not express how delicious it was. Highly recommend.
Very pleasant place and very polite, sunny and friendly welcome. Menu not dispersive and well explained by the waitresses. Personally I have little appreciated the biodynamic wine which on my palate rasped quite a bit and tended to marsalate but it was explained to me that they are particular and "more free range" wines, only a matter of taste. Premise: I have never been to the club; i was looking for a restaurant to eat tonight and i found this.
I see photos of the place and the food and out of curiosity I look at the negative reviews: a scandal. Not so much the content of the reviews but of the responses of the owner: only the fact that he answers in this way to a foreigner does that he will never return to Italy.

Great culinary experiences, the appetizer are amazing, main course delicious and the deserts were good as well. The staff and owner are very kind and welcome, make the ambience are very warm. Very recommended place to have lunch with family and kids.

Excellent price-quality ratio, due to the relevant request you must book well in advance to have dinner at the weekend.
We were on a Saturday evening in 4 and due to the large influx the times and the quality of the service were affected but the smiles of the waitresses contribute to willingly accept the wait which is then rewarded by the excellent quality food that is served. Probably on a midweek day the judgment could be even more benign.
A place to be enjoyed !! We have been found, welcomed in a unique setting where the furniture meets the ancient taste of genuine Bologna of the past !! Flavio & Tommaso crowned an unforgettable day.

The best meal we had in Italy. We arrived early on a cold evening and got lucky to be offered the last table, closest to the entrance door with cold breeze. Being from Canada we weren't scared of the breeze! We had such good service from Flavio the owner and the staff. The food was just as wonderful. We had a great experience, delicious food and really felt the passion of the owner for food and people.
Definitely would recommend to book in advance. There is only 1 service so that people are not rushed to eat and enjoy their evening. Love the mentality of this gem restaurant.
