An excellent restaurant in the heart of Bolognina, Trattoria Via Serra will not disappoint with its reinterpretations of traditional dishes. The quality raw material, the level of cuisine and the professionalism of the staff will surely make you come back. To be able to have a table, however, you need to book in advance, at least a week, so don't risk it!

A splendid gem very well hidden. In a narrow street near the station very discreet from the outside there is a corner of pure Bolognese gastronomic pleasure. Cozy interior almost seems to be home prepared, friendly, efficient and very nice staff. Food ... Simply excellent. Nothing else needs to be added. Remember to book well in advance and when you visit it forget the diet and let yourself be embraced by the chef's treats.

I start from the owner, an exquisite person .. the menu of this place (I invite you to book at least 2/3 weeks before because it is walled) is not fixed, but always enriched with new specialties and I add with FRESCHISSI products, mostly from the Molise region. .
All well-kept. I really recommend because it is a guarantee and to be placed among the first places for the kitchen in Bologna!

For starter we had a delicious chicken liver pate ...

For starter we had a delicious chicken liver pate with homemade brioche. It came with a delightful gel and some red currants giving a sharpness but hubby had a fresh parmesan wrapped in bacon and fried which was utterly sublime - I can not express how delicious it was. I wish we could return but know they are so popular that we were lucky to attain one visit. Please if you get the opportunity do try this fantastic eatery.

It's been a while since I wanted to try the Trattoria in Via Serra, tonight I did it.
Flavio and all the staff make you feel at ease. All very good. The cheek, an off-menu this evening, was truly exceptional. A stew that I believe will become memorable.
Icing on the cake, no direct or indirect pressing to free the table. Single turn. Who is there can enjoy the evening in peace and harmony. And if you are lucky enough to have good company, you're done.
Well done. I will continue to try to book.

I wanted to try this place driven by the excellent reviews read on the internet; I can say that I fully share the opinions on the staff, friendly and well-prepared in the description of the dishes.
As for the menu I had seen from the photos that it was not very varied and that few dishes were to my taste but I was hoping to find great classics, like tortellini or gramigna, of excellent quality and that the off-menu dishes could widen my choice enticing me with seasonal specialties. I found instead of the first discrete but not exalted and in all the off-menu there were ingredients, like mushrooms, which I didn't like;
I was so frustrated by the fact that at every description of the dishes came the mushrooms that I finally gave up resigned to ordering the second, concluding the meal.
Congratulations however for the melted tosone, a typical dish never tasted before, and the excellent salad that accompanied it.
I vote with 4 stars making the average between the 5 that I would give to the staff and the 3 that I would give to the menu.
Personally I don't think I'll come back but I highly recommend it to all mushroom lovers.

Cozy place and very prepared staff. Typical Bolognese menu with in addition dishes of the day which are all explained in detail by the waiters once accompanied to the table. Average prices, the only difficulty is booking on the phone because they never answer. It is worthwhile to go early and wait a few minutes to sit down.

A must visit! The food is excellent, both in quality and in type: it really deserves praise also for the imagination with which the menu is prepared, for the freshness and quality of the ingredients, for the spectacular packaging of the dishes (presentation but above all flavors ... divine !), for the kindness and preparation of the staff, for the engaging and overwhelming friendliness of the owner.
Typical local products enhanced and sublimated by a genuine, tasty but very refined and accurate cuisine. They range from tosone (fresh Parmigiano Reggiano, unsalted and cut into strips) which is prepared wrapped with pancetta and cooked in a sublime way, to tortelli with a filling and a side dish that do not seem of this land but of Paradise!
The dishes of the day, "spoken" or written on the blackboard in the dining room, are surprising and always different and of quality.
If you were to find a flaw, you could only say that the dishes are so good that it is difficult to choose !!! Everything would be eaten, without interruption!
Not too many tables (a sign of great prudence and a certain constant quality, since the service is always adequate, in every sense, as there is never excessive confusion. And this is beneficial to both those serving at the table and in the kitchen) but almost always everyone busy. Another sign of great quality.
Reservation recommended, always.

Disappointed. Having read the good reviews we went for lunch. At the cashier we waited for the innkeeper to finish chatting with the previous customer and then bothered to do the bill saying that if we were in a hurry there are places where you can eat in 15 minutes ... to then miss the bill and charge us 10 euros more ... if you call this the client's welcome ...

A very pleasant Saturday for lunch. I managed after several attempts to book by phone. Delicious and well-kept restaurant, not very large. Staff and owner very kind, friendly, explain the menu at the tables with a care that seems to tell a fairy tale. Sublime food! Eat the mushroom croutons, tortelloni stuffed with ricotta with butter and sage (delicious !!!! Melted in the mouth, spectacular filling) and English soup. Price in line with what is offered. I hope to be back! Highly recommended!

Excellent tavern with refined food. The price is adequate for quality but not excessive. The innkeeper explains the menu in great detail, causing you to fry your mouth before you start eating. The only problem is that you have to be patient by trying to call at various times to find free. But it's worth it.

I would have liked to give at least 3 or 4 but I...

I would have liked to give at least 3 or 4 but I should have given only 1. You eat well, price proportionate to the offer. Not very fast in the service (but I might have caught the evening no). Until here everything is normal and, frankly, it is a place where I would like to come back ... But no !!! Booking in this place, mandatory because they are always full, is really impossible: tried at least 10 times at different times and no one answers the phone, sometimes it even seems that the signal becomes busy manually (and not automatically) .
Too bad, really shame because 3 deserves it and maybe even 4.
I don't think I'll try to book again, now all the bonuses have been played.

Discovered by chance ... The best restaurant in Bologna. Understatement and high quality: a winning combination. Flavio grand master in presenting each dish, making a slice of polenta (calzagatti) or a cheese (tosoni) waste precious. Book three months in advance if you want, at the end of the meal, to enjoy the privilege of the homemade nocino.
