I completed my course at the end of February, I ve received my certificates. However it s now June and I m still waiting for Training Strategies to make payments for my badge. Yes they are getting fed up of me phoning every other week to see where they are up to.. (still waiting for payments from the gov)... As the main reason for me to do the course was because I need employment I m sure the government wants me to get employment as well...? There s many courses out there for security in Liverpool please consider your choices carefully.! Some courses might be scams! And there are plenty of scam courses at the moment company s do to try and take money that s funded by the E.U and it s only funded when your name is on the application. If anyone has a solution for me please leave a comment as i only want to gain my security badge and work in the security industry legitimately to provide for my family!?
I did the SIA course in Wood Green recently.The course was brilliant and our tutor Mr Imran was very good. I passed the exam and just waiting for certification and badge.

Well structured course, instructors went at the right pace for the people attending. My instructor Kevin was great with real world stories and examples to back up what he was saying in the classroom.
Just finished my training with training strategies and really enjoyed it , it involved a lot more than I thought with doing math, English and customer care with Maria gardender who took the time to help. Jason hall did our SIA training he was great an made everyone feel comfortable, Lucy turner was my contact an had no problems at all , I would definitely recommend.

I have just done a week's course my tutor was Lynn Connolly, In Blackpool who has been very informative and helpful. Making sure that not only me but everyone in the class understood each aspect of the customer service training and employability course, settings me on my way to complete my S.I.A course. This is a very good company and would recommend them if you are looking to do training in this sector

9 months down the line and still waiting for my certificate and onto my 3rd application as they didn't pay with the previous 2. If this 3rd application is ignored I will be seeking advice and taking it further.
I completed level 2 Business administration with Training Strategies. At the beginning of my course i was quiet and uneducated. By the end of my course i was much confident in speaking to people, it helped a lot with my job as i was more confident to speak to people in the office and i was more educated about my job and the industry i work in. This was all thanks to my Tutor Pauline Nowell! She helped me every step of the way, she saw my weaknesses and turned them into positives. Couldn't recommend Training Strategies anymore!
This company is a total joke, my partner did a SIA training course in February and still hasn't received his card! They keep making excuses everytime we phone up and now they are saying they haven't got the funds even tho they were government funded!!! Complete waste of time!

I would like to thank training strategies for putting me on the course, the process to get on the course was very smooth and I recommend them to anyone wanting to do the SIA course, as for my tutors, Donovan Hutchinson was an awesome tutor, taught me everything I needed to know to sit my SIA exam confidently. He went out of his way during lessons to make sure everyone understands everything and happy. Jane Coleman was very supportive and helpful, brilliant tutor and I learnt a lot from the lessons. I am now very confident with my customer service skills from what Jane taught us and this will benefit me massively as a Security Officer.
Still waiting for my license to be paid for. Meanwhile I've been left in limbo - they never contact me in regards to this issue - plus more and more time is passing by. I have now received a notification from the SIA themselves stating how my application has ran out because it's been well over 90 days - which I will need to apply for all over again! What's going on? Seems as though TSL are reluctant to pay. Over three months since I successfully completed the course.
Had mr k Griffiths fantastic tutor , truly one of best course I've ever taken so accommodating and truly teach in a professional yet friendly manner making it very easy and comfortable learning even complex matters
I m not one to leave a bad review anywhere but this company is just a shambles. Firstly the course was advertised as Liverpool, however the training was provided in Elesmere port in a hotel and not in Liverpool. After completing our exams we was told we d find out the results in a week or so but infact it was over a month. I did this course over 3 months ago and I still have not had a single update about when they re going to pay for my license, I ve emailed 3-4 times to ask and had no response whatsoever, I ve done everything I can possibly do from my end, it s not fair as some people did this course so they could finally start work if they where unemployed, however out of my course of around 28 only 2 have had there badge paid for and are able to start work, The rest of us aren t even at a stage where we can look for work as the payment hasn t been made so none of the checks can start. I would not recommend this company to anyone, there are far better free SIA courses available but in all honesty I d advise just paying for yourself, the course is only 5 days long elsewhere yet our course ran for 2+weeks. The only good thing and the only reason apart from the fact that I ain t allowed to give a zero start review, is that the tutor Kev couldn t have done enough for us, the other instructors I met here as well where all helpful I think it s just a very big problem with the background staff.

I did my sia badge in Dec last year past it .the guy Tony was a good teacher .but the problem I have is I sent for my badge in January and I'm still waiting for payment to be sent over for my badge been told it was 4 to 6 weeks but still waiting why got no idea

Total scam and total waste of time, i done my SIA course back in September in Sunderland, passed the course, applied for my licence at the post office, Training Strategies linked my application,i thought all was going well, its now February, still no funding, my application with the Sia has expired, numerous phone calls to be told a pack of lies from very rude staff, job opportunities missed, they say its government funded, they just keep the funding for themselves, and dont pay for your licence, avoid at all costs, unless you want to do a 14 day course for nothing, absolute discrace, im currently seeking legal action against the company, they should not be allowed to get away with this and wont.

Had my course at Novel hotel. Room was clean and with nice setup. My teacher was Dave Rownland. He is a good teacher and everything was well explained and help is there if you need it.
I done my Level 2 Business Admin and was so happy with the way the college helped me the whole way through it has helped me move onto bigger and better things and i cant wait to start my Level 3 with them.

I recently did the course in Burnley. My tutor imran was a really good trainer, he made the class fun and also quite informative as the class was small i was able to learn a lot. I enjoyed it and would recommend to others.
OK Guys listen up ..
TSL Office manages all applications but they have sessions running in various locations across the country.
I advise you to read this little guide and make notes.
Firstly, choose a location that is suitable to commute to or where there is affordable accommodation as before completing the SIA badge course, you will need to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.
The course is approximately 6.5 weeks long, dependant on how your group can progress.
4 weeks will be spent completing the Customer Service sessions, then 2- 2.5 weeks on the SIA badge course itself.
Curing the customer service portion, you will receive tests, and have too pass them in order to progress to the SIA section of the course. It s advisable to watch some YouTube videos and read online if you re not familiar with customer service principles, however you are very well supported and guided by the tutors during the sessions.
The SIA portion, has a written element, followed by a test, which is accompanied by a guide book. READ IT!! And get familiar with the material. Don t be daunted by its size as you don t have to memorise the entire book to pass, however all the information inside it will make you a more effective door supervisor.
After the written and test elements of the SIA sessions are completed, you will then begin to practice the physical intervention elements of the course. You will run through multiple scenarios and face realistic portrayals of issues you may have to deal with at work.
Be patient and keep trying as it can often look easier than it is.
It will end with you being tested in mock scenarios where you will be expected to perform according to SIA standards. You will play multiple roles within the scenarios and need to be prepared to listen and co-operate.
DO s-
Get a decent sleep . It s hard for a tired brain to learn, and there is a lot to take in at times.
Let your tutor know if you have learning difficulties and they can arrange adequate support and advice for you.
Wear comfortable clothing during physical sessions
Plan ahead in regard to travel and parking, there s nothing worse than running behind because of someone else s bad time keeping
DO NOT S-
Do not assume this course is not professional, all tests and paperwork are moderated, and mistakes will cause a failure to get your SIA badge
Do not get overly comfortable in regard to chatter during class, tutors are laid back but have a time schedule to work to and if forced will become more stern if a group if not progressing quickly enough due to chatter and distractions.
Do not bring religion or politics into the sessions, standards are set by the SIA and respective education authorities.
Do not assume that teachers will just let you pass, whilst its well known that there are suspect SIA training regimes who have guaranteed pass rates, this is not the case here.
AFTER THE COURSE
Make sure TSL have your correct data await the receipts of your SIA qualification. You will need to set up an SIA application, and contact TSL for a BUSINESS LINK which is a marker on your online profile to state TSL are handling the payment of your application.
Note : just having the business marker on your SIA online account will not start the badge application process, you will still need to go through application steps, and stop and the payment section.
