Resort grounds were very clean. This place has lots of things to do for kids. Our room was clean, but the bathroom didn t have a fan and one of the mattresses could use to be replaced. You could see the light from the hallway all coming in through the door frame the way around at night when the lights were off. Pools were average. Overall a good experience, we would go back again.

Most of the restaurants closed. No staff or service personnel in the evening visible. No parking attendant. Seems like they just gave up. Sad...
In addition...and response to the owner.
Monday evening, the ONLY restaurant that was open was "the flying bridge" (an outside -open air eatery) been there many times and while the food has always been good, felt like an inside regular restaurant feel for our wedding anniversary. The ONLY other option ( on property) was pizza hut/ice cream take out.
Bermuda's - closed, bermuda cafe - closed, palm court - closed, beef o'grady's - closed (not sure if this one is permanently closed or not). Was told by front desk staff to try Rumfish grill at their sister property . We drove there, and were told that their would be a wait of 45 min (because we don't have a reservation) or we could eat the same menu at the bar. We went to the bar and saw the brief menu that was available. Understandably a lot of seafood dishes but not much else. Still a brief limited menu. Very glad I did not wait to be disappointed. So we left and went up and down gulf blvd. Found a new place.
To sum up the experience... It was our anniversary, asked my wife where she wanted to go, her only response was tradewinds.
Expected more... disappointed.

This an average beach resort. The rooms are nice and clean, the staff is friendly, and there is a lot for families to do. As others noted, the resort is aging; elevators run slow, paint is peeling in places, doors don't shut very well, balcony railings are wide enough for a toddler to get through, etc. The $40 resort fee is very excessive for comparable local beach resorts.

If you stay using a gift certificate or coupon it is incredibly hard to book dates because they only open so many rooms to reward bookings and there are many restrictions on dates. Otherwise, I wouldn't pay more than $150/night to stay here.

Last, you will be spammed with multiple calls by their vacation rental company, bluegreen, before you arrive and well after you leave. Upon check-in, you will be forced to briefly talk to them about timeshares just to get your wristbands and parking pass. Check-in wasn't like this in the past and I hope they change this process because it is incredibly annoying and cheap.

When you think it's over, they'll call you a month after your stay to talk to you about timeshares. It's frustrating for regular guests that just want to stay in a normal hotel. The fact that they are so desperate to sell these things that they spam regular guests speaks volumes about the quality of this hotel.

The quality of this resort was awful for how much we paid. Looking at the quality of the rooms, it should not be considered 4 stars. Comfort Inn is honestly a better option than this. Our hotel room was filthy and in need of a good deep cleaning or honestly a remodeling at this point. On our last day we found a cockroach living in our bathroom towels and that was it for us. The only good thing was the beach, that is the only reason why we would return. Otherwise, I recommend choosing a different place to stay that isn t so overpriced.

Got there at 4:09pm to have dinner with friends staying there. They charged me $25 to park my car on their lot. I wasn't there to use the pool or beach. At around 7:30 alarms went off, we had to evacuate from the 7th floor by the stairs. My friend I was visiting has had knee surgery and uses a cane. I heard later that she had to walk up after I left.

My sister-in-law and I just returned from our first trip to Trade Winds. First and foremost overall our trip was what we wanted, relaxing! We loved seeing that we were able to go to the Publix and get snacks and drinks for our days by the pool. Although we had to splurge and have a few frozen drinks from the tiki hut and also food from Bermuda s. The food was so good and the tiki hut bartenders were always so nice!
The beds in our room (4217) were the most comfortable hotel beds we have stayed in. Lastly, Tina at check out was over the moon helpful for us in accommodating our needs. We have definitely talked about staying here again. My only advice is offering a short span of time for a happy hour our drinks were always amazing, but come with a hefty price tag.

Very overpriced for what you get regarding the rooms. The beach is nice, however if you are there for any resort amenities, (Dinner, spa, bars) look somewhere else. The pools are tiny with no swim-up bars, or service. Obviously during this Covid-19 mess, it is very limited as to what is open, but even if things were normal, prepare to do some walking to get anywhere such as bars and restaurants. Not a bad trip overall, but for the money you spend, go enjoy an all inclusive in Mexico with a much nicer room and better service. Very outdated facilities. Kind of like going back in time.

Great experience. Amazing views, restaurants, and customer service. A definite go to vacation spot. If you do book your stay here bring a good amount of money. By the way did I mention there is so much to do and see. Oh yeah don't forget this resort only has paper straws.

Love love love Tradewinds. It s our second time coming here, and we simply adore the establishment. It s right on the beach with a lot of family fun activities. There are only a few things I wish they would upgrade like fans in the bathrooms, a line or bar to hang up wet bathing suits (for all rooms without a balcony), an upgrade to those old AC units that hum louder than you can talk! Other than that, it s awesome.

Room was pretty nice, I was on the top floor. I was not thrilled with the bathroom. No exhaust vent in there while showering and the drain in the tub wasn t working well. I had almost a full tub of water by the time my shower was completed. Took my fridge a full day to actually get cold, which wasn't the greatest for my groceries.... Services were nice as well as clean beds and resort. Staff is friendly as well.

This Resort has a lot of activities which is great...

This Resort has a lot of activities which is great, especially for kids. The beach is beautiful. We stayed at the Island Grand. I will start by saying we did not pay normal rates because a family member is an owner there. I would NOT pay a typical rate to visit here. It is a large resort and there are a lot of functions happening at any given time. I was there 3 days, and saw two weddings, a reunion, and some kind of shower.

As far as the grounds, I expected a much more grand feel to the hotel from what I saw and read online. Upon arrival, it felt like I was in an old building with some simple overlays slapped on to make it appear nicer. The elevators need serious upgrades, I think I spent more time trying to catch an elevator than I did in the water!

The food on the property was good. We had a large dinner at Palm Court, Lunch at the Flying Bridge, Brunch at Palm Court, and Drinks from Saltys. All was priced as expected for a resort.

My biggest disappointment was the dinner and brunch we scheduled for my Grandmothers ninetieth birthday. There were 24 of us traveling in from different parts of the U.S. I had scheduled a room for Dinner and Brunch many months prior. Upon Arrival to Palm Court for dinner, it was apparent we did not have a private room. Not only did we not have a private room, there was another party seated right next to us for the same time, and another table in the same room, who actually walked out because of the parties. It was not an end all but we were not able to put the special touches on with the decorations we planned, and we had no privacy. It was especially uncomfortable having people walk out because of the noise. Again, there were 24 of us, 6 of which were children (I don't blame them.) We were able to deal with the disappointment of the non-private room but the kicker was that they had scheduled to turn the table over, so now we had a time limit. We only get together (if we're lucky) once a year, to have to break up the dinner early because they scheduled another reservation on top of us, really ruined the evening. The Brunch was as equally disappointing as expected as the next day was the same seating. If this is the policy of Tradewinds and their facilities, they should be transparent about not being able to provide a room for a party as I had requested.

The staff was certainly accommodating and friendly all around the resort and the Dinner and Brunch staff were equally accommodating and friendly. Details for big events and reservations need to have a better process and a clearer communication of what is actually offered at this hotel.

My best experience was with the scheduling of the group if you can believe that. I dealt with a woman named Angel B. She was AMAZING! She was clear about the cost, patient with scheduling the chaos of my family, and she updated me with little things that people had changed without even having to be asked. I can not say enough good things about her!

Caution with booking groups - there seemed to be a lot of confusion with the front desk dealing with group reservations. Different information was given to different members of my group which caused a lot of stress between bands and the cost of the resort fee. Thankfully Angel had given me clear concise information and I was able to clear this up with the front desk staff.

All and all it was a nice trip but there are better places to visit for a fraction of a cost. It's all a matter of preference.

Ok so this place exceeded my expectations. Room was very clean, workers were super friendly. However the incident that exceeded my expectations was..at 3am the AC in our room stooped working. We called the front desk..not sure if we would even get an answer. They answered in the first ring..snd sent an engineer up. We were on the 7th floor..the engineer was up in TWO minutes! By 320am our AC was up and running like brand new. Amazing customer service!

I love the serenity, beauty, cleanliness, overall customer service. My only moment of disappointment.... was after an entire day of the travel agenda, baggage pick up, waiting for our cab and the lack of transportation to our destination, that was unfortunately a 2 1/2 hour wait for our room availability. Once we were able to ditch the baggage, change our 12 hours of travel clothes and finally lock our door leave the day behind , begin our vacation and hit the beach.... all was perfect. I love the ample swim area and an all adult swim and tan area, the food was always freshly prepared & a large variety. Keep in mind, & remember you are on a vacation and are being serviced above & beyond expectation, so expect to pay the price. Especially if you plan to travel, site see, participate in para-sailing, jet-ski, or other vacationing activities ( theme parks...etc) I recommend to multiply your budget x s 2, so you won t come up short on cash to really enjoy all the activities there are to experience. And lastly, I would do your research online and take the best prices you find to a travel agency and go through them to beat the best of your prices, prepare & plan your trip, plus... find you as many perks & discounts offered during the time of your stay.
I would recommend this particular resort for it s room sizes, efficiencies, amenities, kitchenette, family room , cable, or you can go small if necessary. We had a ten party group with children, so it was convenient for the younger kids that were tired and needed to rest. Enjoy your trip and I hope your experience gives you as many pleasurable memories, and equal, exciting, wonderful, experience as I personally enjoyed.

Went for New Year's party. NASTY. Tradewinds to me has turned into a money monster instead of the beautiful place it had been for years of coming here. Tradewinds has been removed sadly from our want to go to places. SAD

The staff was SO friendly. Cara Jo on the beach was amazing. She saw a group of seagulls take a breakfast sandwich right out of my husband's hand. She walked right over and said "dont worry my boss is already on her way down here with free breakfast for you guys". That to me is great customer service and yes we will be going back. Resort was also very clean. Food was a little expensive but still a great place over all.

This weekend my friends and I had arrived at the resort and was exploring the area. A security guard passed us and asked how we were doing. My friend replied we were doing great. Five minutes later we were stopped by the same security guy joined with a police man. After explaining we were in fact staying there, the security continued to tail us. Apparently it was hard for the security guard with a star tattoo on his neck to believe a group of hispanics could stay here. The security had no reason to tail us as we were doing nothing but admiring the recreational area and trying to figure out the layout. Whoever the security guy is should be fired for creating a negative and hostile environment to the resort.

Beautiful resort. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I am rating it a 4 because there was only one working elevator and the water pressure in my shower head was extremely low. I would book a room here in the future.

Great place. Had a fun time. It is not cheap, but that's why they call it a resort. Service was great. Only downside is they try to sell you time shares. They are not pushy, but they contacted us 3 times during a 5 night stay.

Great place for Sunday brunch, one of the best I have ever been too. Great selection of fresh salad, pasta and seafood. Next an amazing hot selection of vegetables, meat and fish. Also omelette cooked to order. Finally sweet treats for all. All this accompanied with good coffee, mimosas prosecco are available too. A must try.

We visited this resort five times. That's how much we like it. The resort is great, the staff is always polite but on check out day, they knocked on my door at 9:00 am!!! Check out is at 11:00! Staff needs to be instructed NOT to bother guests until actual check out time.

We were two moms traveling with 5 kids in two separate rooms with two very poor similar experiences. When we arrived at 11pm due to a late flight with very tired children, we were told our rooms were not ready but that we could be put in a gulf view room for just the first night and then have to move rooms the next day. We weren t given a time that we would need to move so it made the first day stressful and moving rooms is VERY difficult to do with children. We were never offered anything at all for this inconvenience. The rooms were small and dirty, there was food on the floor and a whole in the bathroom floor. The pool bathrooms are beyond dirty and gross. Everything is overpriced for the poor quality. The Konk club is dirty and incredibly small and the process for signing in and making crafts is slow and unorganized. The one positive thing I have to say is that the staff was all very friendly and enjoyable, had they not been we would have nothing good to say about this stay.

It was really a wonderful beautiful resort. The staff was great. Always ready to help. We had a room overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous. They have restaurants. Pub fare, sandwich/Starbucks coffee shop, Italian, steaks and seafood with very good food. Servers were excellent. Many excellent specialty blended drinks. Beachfront bars like tiki huts with servers. Had a baked brie out there that was delicious. At night s'mores around the fire on the beach. Altogether we had a wonderful time.
