The marina has friendly staff and very nice bathrooms and showers. The docks are well kept and the grounds are pretty. The marina has a pool for use by slipholders. The only drawback is that the marina is far from anything, so walking to places takes a while. There is the Inter-Urban Express which can cheaply get you to Saugatuck. The Back Alley Pizza Joint will deliver directly to your slip, and had good pizza and wraps.

Tower marine. Stored my fishing boat there and had a little work done. No problems. Picked that up and dropped off my center console April 17th. Was told repeatedly they were working on it. Even got a call last week, May 14th saying they were starting on it. Went today May 20th, a week later, nothing done. When I asked why, said others in front of me. Sounds like something more profitable came along, they don't have a clue or flat out don't tell the truth. Bottom line. Go somewhere else.
If you have a boat Tower Marine is the absolute best for professional service for winter storage, dock rates and any repairs or upgrades. Brian is awesome.
Should be zero stars. Placed deposit on a slip in September 2019 for the 2020 season. Covid hit in March 2020 and my husband stopped in and left a handwritten note stating to cancel the slip. With so much uncertainty we didn't want to spend an additional $3100.00 and not have access to all the amenities or even the marina as they were shut down during this time. During the early phases of Covid, through the majority of the summer, Tower Marine was not well-staffed, so the note to cancel was left with one of the people that were there working. We were told they would leave the note on the front desk. The note indicated our name, slip number, date, and a short note stating to cancel the slip. We completely understood we would lose our $300.00 security deposit. A few weeks later when we received our first statement with a balance due my husband stopped at Tower Marine various times and the front office was still shut down or notes were on the doors/windows stating to use the microphone. It is hard to use the microphone when no one is there! Next few months we received calls about the balance due, but when we called them back no one picked up the phone or no response... In August I reached out to the front office via email explaining the entire scenario and I was told to send the message directly to her and she would take care of the issue. Fast forward to October and I was told we owed the balance due plus interest for a slip that was never utilized. I was told the balance is owed because we didn't cancel in writing per our Contract, but we did. Why should we be held accountable when your staff is not doing THEIR job? Upon being told this, I called Matt Peterson twice and emailed him requesting a callback, nothing but radio silence! Then in November, December, and January, we didn't receive anything from Tower Marine, so we assumed the issue was resolved. Now in February, we receive another statement. Not sure what else we could have done in this situation, since we did our part and tried everything. Matt and his team should learn customer service rather than worrying about lining their pockets.
The owners comments say it all. He thought that a Tiara with Caterpillar Diesels was "junk" after it took on water. The insurance company paid Tower Marine more than $3,000.00 to "Pickle and drain" the engines. One engine was completed. I have a copy of the work order and spoke to the insurance company directly. The insurance company wanted the engines preserved. The service manager at Tower told me that the engines were both run before I purchased the boat. Tower completed one of three engines resulting in tens of thousands in damage. I have purchase other salvaged boats that were "pickled" correctly without any issues. I can only assume that the work ethic and bad attitude runs from the top down at Tower Marine. All they had to do was complete the work correctly or repair the damage caused from incomplete workmanship. What did they do for $3,000.00?
Did lousy engine work...engine scrapped..tens of thousands in damage....would not back up workmanship....employees do what they want...charged for both engines, completed work on one...paid for two....owner is old and does not have control of marina.....cost me a ton of money....stay away. Response...I have a Work Order showing that the engines and generator were pickled and drained.....can you tell me why there is freeze damage to the engines if they were pickled and drained?...the best part is ...one of the engines actually was pickled properly!....sadly...they did not complete the work on the other engine or the generator.
Great place for a slip in Saugatuck. The have over 400 slips for small 10ft boats to large yachts. Would recommend to anyone needing to moor their boat in Saugatuck Douglas.
Great facilities, gracious staff and beautiful facilities. I keep my 1952 Lyman Islander, Miss B Haven on the dock here and could not be happier with this fine community of boaters. The 4th of July is a solid bet as the fireworks, bbq and pool are family friendly and an easy spot to enjoy.
