Great stay and an amazing experience. The resort pulls out all the stops to make your stay a memorable one. We are traveling Vermont with our dog and in general the area is extremely pet friendly. Ate dinner at Flannel, the food was delicious. The spa/ pool area is great. The outdoor pool, in winter, is amazing. The fire pit lights are a great touch.

Another person staying at the hotel made the comment "are they going out of business?" and that sums up the entire stay.
There is an adult only pool/hot tub that is right next to the kid pool. Very noisy, and big surprise people would bring their children into the adult only section. There would be 8 children in a hot tub splashing with no parents around. It was not relaxing whatsoever.
There was supposed to be water next to the pool and plastic cups, and it was empty for hours. After lounging for 3 hours, a server showed up which would have been nice to have earlier since I would have to go wait in line 20 minutes to get a small drink.
Another point, they were out of vodka and rum. Which really isn't acceptable for a bar.
The server gave me a margarita (I had already had 2 in a span of 4 hours) and it tasted absolutely nasty. The server never returned- so a half hour later I went to complain because I literally could not drink it- and I paid for it. It took me over 20 minutes of waiting in line to get them to make me another drink. The bartender said "let me see what they did wrong" and then tasted it himself, said "ICK they forgot the sweetener" he redid it- but who wants to pay for a drink and then stand in line for an additional 20 minutes to have it re-made? I would have liked them to offer me another on the house or something, I was already so disappointed in the stay.
Then, I saw a sign "Caution pesticide application" with a no walking for children/dogs/adults. They only put the sign up in a few places, but they sprayed the entire lawn. A lot of people were upset by this and the guy who was spraying the pesticides said "yeah its nasty stuff but they have a weed problem"..... So anyone who had dogs literally had no place to bring them to use the bathroom safely on the property.
Another issue- I go to take a shower and the water is luke warm at best so I said forget it. Really disappointing. The following day the shower did have hot water, but it was frustrating to pay to stay at a "top notch" resort and not be able to take a shower when you want to.
I would not recommend this resort. It was not relaxing and over-priced. I especially would not recommend this place if you do not have children.

Rooms and amenities are more than you can ask for. Go to the roost the drinks and tapas are awesome. Flannel was an excellent restaurant I ate there at least four times and breakfast and lunges were excellent. The parfait is the best parfait u can ever have. The salmon is also excellent with a salad. Everyone at the entire resort is extremely nice. The spa is beautiful with an indoor spot and lounges with private sauna steam room and hot tub. They also have beautiful showers tea, coffee water and magazines. The fitness center is AWESOME.

Guests of Topnotch last weekend... a fabulous choice. Excellent service, beautiful mountain views and a comfy bed! Two restaurants on site (The Roost and Flannel - both have bars). Three pools (1 inside next to the Spa and 2 outside - one being an adult pool + hot tub). Tennis and exercise room also on site. This is not an inexpensive location, but we felt it was well worth the trip and we will return. All the staff we came into contact with were truly "Topnotch!"

I have been to TopNotch several times and always enjoy my time there. The facilities are literally top notch. Beautiful views, baths, pools, etc. The staff are local, personable and accommodating. The food on my last visit left something to be desired, mediocre from Flannel, but on other occasions I've had great food from both Flannel and the Roost. Highly recommend the area and hotel/spa.

I wish they offered 6 stars on Google, this resort deserves it!! Family friendly, romantic, fun at Topnotch you can have it all. My family and I had been here before, but my latest stay was just my husband and I and it was perfect from the beautiful room where we were welcomed with a chilled Heady Topper and Angry Cider to the outdoor hot tubs surrounded by snow to the incredible dinner at Flannel, I cannot say enough about how much I love this place!!

Great place! Beautiful location, incredible views! The resort is fantastic, very accommodating and cozy. The indoor and outdoor pool are perfect for any weather. The spa has everything imaginable to make the trip great.

The 50 minute massage was amazing, but there were various secrets that took work to figure out in the spa - how to use the computerized locker locks, how to get the indoor jacuzzi jets to work, etc. The facilities were great (massage waterfall, outdoor pool and jacuzzi available even in the winter}, but the staff should spend more time introducing new visitors to the place.

The bartender is the best in the country. Rooms are lovely, love how its dog friendly. Staff are very nice. The misty knoll chicken dish cant remember if that was quite the name is excellent.

Having stayed in many world class facilities, I can promise you that this hotel is not one of them. I walked in unaware and was initially surprised by the cost per night, but figured it must be worth it or maybe this was the best Stowe had to offer. My wife and I were greeted by friendly staff, checked in, and went to to our room. The elevator smelled of noxious fumes, like an outhouse, and it permeated the 2nd floor where we stayed. The room was simple and dated. The walls were scarred, and paint peeled from every corner of the bathroom walls and ceiling. Maintenance was clearly low on their list of priorities. We were advised of the hotel's "fine dining" restaurant called Flannel which had cafeteria ambiance, and was empty despite it being the season opening weekend. The menu at Flannel had only 3 vegetables we could discern, and despite having two steaks on the menu, the only form of potatoes available were chips, so we paid for the two appetizers before receiving them, and left to find another place to eat.

Now we were pretty disappointed. Our weekend getaway was starting to feel like a waste but we didn't even know what was coming. Later on we returned, went to sleep, and then the next morning woke up to screaming kids running up and down the hallway, barking dogs from the floor below us and pounding feet above us. The insulation was minimal and the building clearly constructed of balsa wood. In addition to the very early wake up, we had another shock. The hotel had decided to charge our credit card with over $1,100 USD despite agreeing to a $299/night rate (+$100 for incidentals). The only charges we signed for were the two appetizers ($44) the night before (which should never have been charged to us anyway). The only person that seemed to care had no authority or explanation. We left feeling almost abused, but at least the woman who promised action was on it. She said the manager would be calling to take care of us... no one has ever called us.

Two stars because the place actually looks ok. It's not the Fairmont but it's better than Holiday Inn. Do yourselves a favor though and book Stowe Mountain Lodge, it's beautiful.

Another good reason to visit Vermont is accomodation. Why is that? They always go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and prepare you room cozy just like at home. They are respectful but aware and that makes all the difference for a good experience.

Wow, Topnotch always exceeds all expectations. The staff is excellent, from reservations, to the front desk, to housekeeping, the restaurants and even maintenance! Topnotch is clean, modern and beautiful. The patio at Flannel has amazing views and the spa is out of this world. Definitely stop in for breakfast in Flannel and try Luke's biscuits and gravy!

Had breakfast at Flannel, food was excellent as well as the service. Marco was our waiter and he deserves special praise for how great he was with my 5 yr old son! Will be coming back again next time we are in town

Our stay at the Topnotch Resort was amazing- the room was perfect for a family with 2 comfy beds and a twin. The resort itself offers a lot to do including complimentary tea and cookies in the afternoon. You couldn't ask for a more friendly or helpful staff. Dinner in the Roost was great, try the apple pie with cheddar!

High end bar. Always has a chill environment with good drinks. They have heady topper! Bar is surrounded by nice seating areas and fire places. Games are available including a nice shuffleboard table. In the summer there is a really nice outdoor space with good views of the mountain.

Only indoor facility in the Stowe mountain area. Courts are great and lighting could be better. They were running tests on them while I was playing so it could already be better. Be aware that this facility is near 4000 feet elevation. My hitting partner and I were super winded after rallying for about 20 minutes and we were just hitting the ball back and forth to each other!

Attended a paint & sip at the resort. What was seen of the resort was very nice. Only dealt with one waitstaff who was attempting to service the room of 30-35 ppl which resulted in long wait times to get items ordered.

Wonderfully kind staff, along with lovely amenities. My only complaint is that the first room they put us in was loud, but the staff were kind enough to upgrade us to a resort house for free, so we had a lovely, peaceful time after that.

As a hotel, 5 stars! Beds are clean, decor is good and scenery is beautiful.

As a resort & spa, 1 star for me. Paid $200 for a massage and would compare it to an awkward TSA patdown. I spent the 50 mins politely waiting for it to end. Outdoor pools and spa were the reason I booked undergoing maintenance and were closed. Would definitely return to Stowe, but wouldn t stay here again.

The location is ideal for skiing, the views from the grounds of Mt. Mansfield are fantastic, and the staff was cheerful, but we had some issues with the room. The biggest was that our hot water was lukewarm most of the time - i.e. not warm enough to take a shower or clean dishes. The front desk was unable to fix it despite multiple calls, and I m guessing the boiler isn t sufficient for the size of the hotel.

The room was also somewhat tired: there was some peeling paint in the bathroom, the thermostat was pulling out from the drywall, and the furnishings seemed worn.

We had a second visit planned but have cancelled it.

From Lucinda greeting us, to Brian serving our drinks, the staff was exceptional. Rooms clean, spa clean, spa services acceptable. Carol, Troy, NIALL, Amanda and Sara all made our vacation fun and pleasurable. Bob, the GM introduced himself. These people are clearly dedicated to make your experience fun, stress free and made me feel like the princess I am. Thank you so much! Pricing is competitive for area and time of year.

I wrote a slightly bad review on the Top Notch Resort website after my friend and I stayed there for the 4th of July weekend. Mr. Scott McIntosh contacted me immediately to find out what went wrong with our vacation. We spoke for a while and he was very pleasant and extremely interested in what I had to say. He was very sorry our trip wasn t what we expected. He wasted no time trying to make it up to us. I was very pleased with his solution. He s convinced us to come back to give them a chance to make it better. I m happy to say that we will be going back there for another weekend.
Thank you very much Mr. McIntosh.

This place was really good! Delicious, high end pub fair. We started with some delicious snacks - fancy cheese curds and pretzel sticks. They were great! Since we started with some snacks on the unhealthy side, I went with the tuna poke bowl for dinner. It was great and really fresh! The tuna was served perfectly! The other dishes at the table were well-received too. We had the shrimp po-boy which looked awesome and huge portions! We had two of the specialty Burgers of the day - blue cheese and bacon - and both boys loved those as well! And, finally the shrimp and grits! With all of those eats and plenty of beer and wine, we had a very reasonable tab at the end (still wrll under $200 for appetizers, drinks and 5 meals. Great place for bigger groups and an awesome outdoor area. We began the night wirh a game of corn hole!

Topnotch Resort & Spa was a great place to come and visit. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Meals at the resort were excellent, although breakfast at Flannel was a little pricey for the quantity but again the quality was there. I went to the spa for a pedicure and experience was excellent and would recommend it for a treatment. A little nosiey at times but overall a great visit and would return!

We stayed for two nights in a weekend in March on a Groupon deal. Staff was lovely and helpful from the moment we arrived, and the accommodations were excellent. We had trouble with noise from our upstairs neighbors and the front desk staff was super helpful, taking care of the issue immediately. We had room service breakfast from Flannel, which exceeded expectations (pancakes, toast, sausage and the local jams were a few highlights). We spent the day at both the indoor and outdoor pools, they were clean and well kept. With snow falling around us, the indoor pool area felt as close to the beach as we could get during a cold New England winter. We also had a couple's massage in the spa. Our masseuses were superb, and the fireplace room was a real treat.

Nice spot, it falls a little short of the Topnotch title. The rooms just dont feel special especially for the money. The spa is amazing tho and food is good as well. Overall pretty good.

Way overrated. when you pull up it looks great, it s natural and quiet. Staff is nice.
But..
-first of all, we arrived at 3pm but had to wait close to 2 hrs for our room. No one offered us a drink or anything else, and it was a hot day.
-The room was muggy even with the ac on / poor indoor environment. The carpet on the floor was old, felt moist and just the overall feel of the room wasn t good. Very, very standard rooms, and what seemed like and old bathroom as well.
- yes the resort has 3 pools. Hooray - but no one attends to you.
- the prices of the food was way overpriced even though the food was good - and we are not stingy people, not even close - but these prices are kinda ridiculous.
-
We won t be going back. I m not sure exactly why everyone speaks so highly of TopNotch Resort, when it s really just..average. Bummed!

Great location and amenities. The indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and spa facilities were excellent and well used during our stay.

The rooms are very large and comfortable. Good beds and nice bedding. Pillows are a little hard but not all that bad.

Our only complaint would be the noisy in room heating/cooling unit as well as incredibly noisy bathroom fans (you can hear these from units near by).

We didn't try out the restaurants but heard some positive feedback from other guests. There are lots of great restaurants in the vicinity yo try out.

we have been there three times. the second time the pool was under construction and we were annoyed that we were not made aware upon making the reservation. attempts to receive some type of consideration for this issue failed. that being said, we did go back again. it is a great place with outstanding dining and facilities. they are not as dog-friendly as they used to be which is disappointing. overall, a winner.
