Nice and cosy place.
Cocktails and Cider outstanding.
Definitely coming back, however the music became too loud while was there.

Spacious, convenient, friendly staff and not as crowded as some other really popular rooftop bars. A great view of the empire State building

Great place with great views and the staff is very kind and accommodating! I only wish they d have more food options, even if it s short eats.

The Frozen Rose wine was good and there is a great view of the Empire State Building, however space is limited.

Unfortunately it was too crowded and we did not get a seat waiting for accounts and we did not want to. But visually and from the map it sounded good

Beautiful views of Empire State Building from this quaint Hotel rooftop bar. It recently changed from the strand hotel to a Marriott vacation club but the top of the strand is still there and we're very happy about that period good drinks, apps and amazing views!

View is fabulous! Drinks are delicious. It's a small place and they no longer serve food at the rooftop.

Great place to take Mom for her birthday! We went in January so the roof was closed in, but the experience was still great, and no crowd!!!

The view is amazing, the drinks are good, but a little bit expensive and the service was very good. All in all, they deserve 5 stars!

The drinks are good and the service was fast and friendly. It's heated and covered, which is nice. But the vew isn't the greatest.. you see the empire state building and that's kinda it. The biggest downfall is the loud club music. It doesn't really fit the atmosphere or crowd. Overall not bad, but not in a rush to get back.

Great drinks and service with spectacular views from this all-season rooftop bar. Be aware that the management somehow thinks this is a nightclub, or wants desperately for it to BE a nightclub, so there is music blasting at such decibels as to render conversation totally impossible in such a compact space.

We had a great stay here, ideally located, lovely room and food and a roof top bar that was kicking out the tunes till late. A superb visit and one we will remember for a long time.....

We stayed in this small, but very intimate, lounge bar. Unfortunately we went on the wrong day because rain was expected and consequently the terrace was entirely closed by windows. However, this did not stop us (only limited) from enjoying a fantastic view of the Empire .... The Cocktails are not exceptional, even if they cost 16 $, but the view is worth everything!

Amazing bar overlooking one of the most iconic buildings in NYC, the Empire State. affordable and one of the best places to dismiss NYC at the end of a trip.

Limited menu. Expensive drinks. The view might have saved the experience if the windows had been cleaned in the last decade. Paid and left.

Elio and Shawn were the best. They were so attentive and fun to be around. They made my first experience to NY a great one. The bar and restaurant are beautiful and DJ Ooochild was on fire. Such a relaxing and calming atmosphere.

Superb rooftop bar. The view of the Empire State is great! The cocktails are very good but $ 15 a glass (+ tip of 20%). Have your ID with you, a copy is not enough! (your identity card is sufficient the passport is not necessary)

Beautiful roof top bar. Gorgeous views of town and relaxing setting. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the cocktails are to die for. Highly recommend this place for a drink to start or end the night. Definately will return!

My friend and I were there for the first time, and I can only say that we fell in love with the place and the view! The waiters and staff made us feel right at home. " Ian" was exceptionally awesome at welcoming us first timers!!

The waiter we had was very nice. The view of the Empire State was absolutely AMAZING. The atmosphere was comfortable. The music alternated genres to appease all.

Stopped in on a late Friday night and am so glad I tried it out! Bartender was amazing, suggested to get a pink elephant and it was seriously one of the best drinks I've had. I loved the music and the videos playing on the TV. The lighting was beautiful. Seating available at the bar and tables along the walls. Definitely a place I'd like to come again.

Nice view of the Empire State building from the top of the Marriott, and good weather finds the glass roof open for a great outdoor experience. Check it out st least once for the unique view and enjoy a beverage while you're up there.

Where: This rooftop lounge sits on top of the Strand Hotel, West 37th Street.
The scene: The dramatic view of the Empire State Building is enough to bring flocks of city dwellers to the Top of the Strand. But look away from the incredible structure and you ll find yourself in a modern splendour created by Lydia Marks, the set designer for Sex in the City, this rooftop bar is a young cosmopolitan s dream. The bar is made atmospheric by the flickering candles and lanterns dotted in between potted plants, the long wooden banquettes decorated with rural tartan cushions, and the impressive views adding to its contemporary city charm.
Signature drink: There are plenty of fine wines and great beers here, including a Pumpkin Ale that tastes like coca-cola in beer form , as well as fabulous cocktails. Try the Honey Miss Daisy, a sweet and spicy mixture of tequila blanco, pomegranate, sweet vermouth, burnt honey and tobasco.
Take a bite: The menu here is simple yet effective; including lamb ribs, nuts, chips and charcuterie - but the speciality is definitely their Double Maine Lobster Rolls. With twice as much meat as other restaurants, including the juicy tail meat, this sumptuous butter poached whole Maine lobster is layered into a soft roll and served with the hotel s own vinegar chips.

I went here for the first time, and this was the nicest of all rooftop bars that I went too. Very nice space and great view. I went here for a second time a few days later. My vodka club was not that strong and the Dj cut out early, once the dj cut out, the crowd went down and got a little boring.. Great place though.

He is carefree but takes care of the details, original dishes but with his feet on the ground. It brings out the real flavors without too many decorations or costumes, something that is appreciated. Small and perfect to sit at the bar to enjoy your meal alone, chatting with one of its owners while you see how they cook for you. Just great!

Nice roof top bar with a full view of Empire State building. Music was techno / rap, which didn't fit the scene and eventually made me leave earlier than I wanted to. Mediocre wine selection, but mixed drinks are ok.

We arrived just in time for the end of happy hour tonight and had a brilliant time - can't recommend The Strand rooftop bar enough! Stunning views, great prices (especially for the location!), wonderful staff and an unbelievable view! We'll be going back!

Drinks are good here, and there's a decent view; the Empire State Building is cool to see. But, the music was house/club that was too loud when we were here, and it doesn't fit the calm and small atmosphere of this place. It got annoying.

Drinks were cute but this rooftop (along with the angry guy that randomly checks IDs at the elevator and just has an overall bad attitude toward select people) is LAME! Won t return

It is easy to go in about 5 minutes on foot from Times Square. There is nothing to interrupt the empire. You can see the empire really in front of you I went to the night but I would like to go to the daytime.

Great atmosphere & staff, thier old fashion was not very good and the seating is a bit awkward. The view is totally worth a visit.

Space: Rooftop bar! Really beautiful views of the Empire State Bldg! Very open and intimate floor layout. It has a retractable rooftop, so it is open even if it rains :)
Scene: It is a sexy and sleek rooftop bar. It is an open layout that is conducive to mixing and mingling, but small. Good for get-togethers, date night, and a great place to take visitors (since it's a few blocks from the Empire State Building). Mostly an afterwork crowd (finance and corporate types) and it does get packed.
Crowd: 20-40s Afterwork crowd. Pick-up scene. Single scene.
Service: Very good. Super friendly, courteous, and attentive staff.

All Good! Awesome place with a fantastic location to see all the best of NYC. Staff is super - very helpful and attentive. Bistro food is great and the folks there are excellent. Rooms are cozy, but who spends time in the room...get out and soak in the city. Our room had a fantsstic view of the ESB (18th floor) with a mini fridge and freezer.. So much to see.....it was great. We will definitely be back!

Excellent roof top bar in midtown. Wonderful view views of the city, good music that you can actually have a conversation with your friends. Signature Sous Vide Cocktails are so smooth and rich. Both Luis and Ellie took great care of us with speedy and kind service. Bar menu was delicious ( must try BBQ chicken flat bread!) and fresh and not stingy on any ingredients. Love this place!
