My mom has been at The Brian Center for nearly a year now. I've visited numerous times and have been satisfied for the most part. The staff seems friendly and helpful. And Mom seems to feel as though her needs are met at TBC as well.

I should have revised this review a long time ago. I originally gave them 3 stars BUT if I could give them a minus I would have!
At the time, I thought they had given my Mom good care for the very short time she was there. They hadn't. The place is a dumping ground for the elderly and infirmed. The staff does not answer the phones. The front office was at the time. Too Distracted to do their job correctly LIKE fill out and FILE in a timely matter paperwork with Medicare to get paid. They flat out admitted that BUT Expect me to pay for their mistake and slackness!
They are a "for profit" home and they are solely motivated as such.
BEWARE!

My father has dialysis on Fridays.
I stopped by to drop off his clothes midnight Saturday.
Only to find him in bed with bag from dialysis and the Lid to his dinner still in his bed same clothes and socks since Thursday.
God Help us!
FINALLY got him out of this place. Staff is rude. CNA's don't wear name tags and this is against the law !
Please look somewhere else. I promise you will regret it. Took me almost a year and 3 administrators, unfortunately, staff gets mad becauae you call them on there mistakes.

It was very unorganized, not enough staff, and administrator just fires employees without write ups or warning. Low pay. Unorganized place. 3 new DONs in 5 months. They lost a patient chart during survey and the patients are at risk for immediate danger and death because lack of staff associates.

This place is not the best I wouldn t recommend to anyone staff seems to be uninspired besides a few people like Tiffany in H.R she really helped with everything and a few others but most of the nurses are horrible patients smell like pee and just get a bad vibe when I have went in there take it for me do your research before putting your loved ones in there

The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the care of the individual needs is great. The organization of the doctor appointments needs great improvement. Communication between schedulers at first and the nursing staff and transport seem to be a struggle for a little while. Otherwise it was a great place for mom and she loved that I can bring in her puppies to visit.

I was so nervous when I took my grandmother to the Brian center. I was moving her from assisted living to a nursing home. That is a hard decision to make for a loved one and you want to know that they are going to a good place and being taken care of when you are not there. There's no perfect place but this place really cares. They treated my grandmother like family until the very end. They have lots of activities to keep the residents busy. They are kind and caring and always there to help. if you are thinking of taking your family member here I would tell you yes. You will feel safe and comfortable that your family member is being taken care of.

Not fit for your loved one to live here!!! This location is under staffed & are not equipped with the medical supplies needed for normal daily care. They also do not have enough skilled nurses or tech's to manage the residents they have. The website says they provide memory care but that is false!!! It seems as if they hire people without a certification or degree for the positions needed, that should have the proper knowledge to care for the residents.

My mom was at this location for about 1 year & she was in and out of the hospital several times due to poor care from this facility. If the resident has an medical illness and needs to be set out to the hospital, the doctor that is over this facility hesitate's about sending the resident out because they will not make money for the days that bed is not filled. I feel sorry for the residents that have to stay there because they are not properly cared for.

When there is a shift change the nurse's & tech are not required to give an update or report on the residents they are caring for, so no one is on the same sheet of music.

The meal plan they have for the residents are not a balance diet & if you are on a soft diet the food looks and taste like slop. There is a limit amount of activities offered for the residents that are mobile, so they are left either lying in their bed or sitting in a chair in the lobby with no interaction. I will never recommend this facility to anyone.

Brian Center is a small facility that is not located in best area of Columbia but when you enter the grounds, you don't realize you are right off of St- Andrews Road. It's a quaint little place but has tons of parking. When you visit, you will notice that everyone is smiling. Whenever I visit my loved one, I see nothing but smiles and hear nothing but laughter. Over the past few months, there has been a shift in management and the change is noticable. The staff is kind and caring and it's refreshing to see people enjoy their jobs. I recommend the Brian Center to anyone looking for a home like environment to place their family member. The Director of Nursing is approachable, understanding and care deeply for her residents. The DON, ADON along with the rest of the staff has made this facility " feel like home" as my family member states. My family and I thank you. We appreciate all of you.

If there was a possibility of giving negative stars I would absolutely do it. My mother was transferred to this facility to rehabilitate her lungs. Within a few hours of arriving she was due for a breathing treatment. The time came and passed with no breathing treatment... 4 hours later she still had not received her initial treatment and was due for her next treatment at 8PM! It is currently 9PM as I am writing this and she has still not received her breathing treatment as they DO NOT have her medication!!! They said it would not be delivered until 1AM. They also said they would check to see if any other patient had the same medication as they would TAKE it from them!! My mother is currently on her way back to the hospital. This level of negligence is unacceptable.

I stayed here five weeks. Everybody was very nice. I appreciate everything that was done for me (physical therapy & occupational therapy). Food was pretty good. Portions kinda small for my liking. The staff is quite friendly. Overly enthusiastic at times. If I had to return to a Skilled Nursing Facility, I would return to this facility.

My step-father is there for therapy after back surger. The staff overall is very unorganized.
They do not communicate with each other. Most of the staff appears to dislike the job...cold and unfriendly. No urgency in caring for patients. Someone ate my dad's food that I prepared for him. They do not have him ready for ambulance pick up for his doctors appointments; therefore, arrives late. The therapy staff members are the most caring. Overall I would not recommend this facility for yourself or your loved ones.

The only positive thing about this place was the therapy team. They were sweet and caring. No eye Dr. onsite.
My dad's personal items were lost or stolen and never recovered. He was there less than 3 weeks and I found issues with that place EVERYDAY. They are not on the same page EVER!!!! The last day he was there, he was sent to the hospital with several infections and was severely dehydrated. Staff were very unprofessional and rude at times. If you care at all for your loved one, dont send them to this place. I had to at least give it 1 star in order to post but taking it back and then some.

Barely passing. I would never use them again. Only the therapists were Johnny on the spot and team players for my husband who said take me home I want to die there. And that is what we did. I only wish we could have afforded a better place.
