There are few things that make Time Out Market a standout, such as the eclectic space and variety of high-profile Chicago restaurants all in one space. However, the cons outweigh the pros here and will keep me from coming back.

For one, prices are very high, portions are small, and there's no way of checking online to see the menu and prices beforehand. The dishes I got were small, and based on that, I'd recommend getting 2-3 dishes per person, which comes out to be $25-35 minimum, excluding drinks. The food IS very good, but prices are upcharged, so you're paying MORE without the restaurant experience/service. For example, the Mini Mott burger we got at Time Out was $13, and only $10 at their restaurant. The Art of Pizza was $8 at market, $4 in restaurant. Secret Sound drinks were $15 at market, $13 at Lost Lake.

For food, I admit that the Mini Mott burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and would definitely come back to eat this. I also got Abe Conlon's bread with olive oil (airy and flavorful but small) and Bill Kim's caramelized pork dumplings (too salty and also small). We didn't bother to get water for our meal, but it shouldn't have been out of sight. My verdict is to come with low expectations and be ready to spend a lot, otherwise leave disappointed.

I really had high hopes when trying the market today, but it was disappointing. We shared two entrees which weren t on par with the regular restaurant offering we have had. The pork belly was dry, and the octopus was overcooked. I d hoped for some sort of gluten free option for dessert some where but alas not. The no water beyond bottled or at the bar is odd. The food pricing seems askew...2 full entrees were quite small for $50 and were more tapa sized.

The market is in its early weeks, but I hope it evolves a bit since we are big foodies, living close and constantly frequent the neighboring bars.

A good place to get a bite from lots of different cuisines. However, the prices are quite high and I can't help but feel that you could get the same food with a more local vibe from any of the numerous independent eateries in the area.

Awesome Time Out Market, I went to the one in Lisbon and this is a good replication American style. Various Chicago eateries with shared table setup. You can go every day for a week and never eat the same meal twice. Also plenty of bar options

So many well thought out dishes to choose from, you can go back every day of the week and never have the same thing. New dishes are always being added to each individual restaurants menu. The selection is a wide range so sure to please everyone in your group

Vibrant food hall with approachable vendors and fair prices. Plenty of available seating, including an open second level for great viewing of everything underneath you. Having been to TOM in New York, I can tell you the layout of Chicago s is so much better.

Love the concept of bringing city's best places to grab a bite under one roof. Time out market is beautifully designed and very much exudes the Chicago vibe. Lots of seating space and seating options high chairs, counter stops, cafeteria, dining table, lounge, stadium you name it. The bars are also nice. Some big name there but the food selection in my opinion could be better, Chicago has much better options than what you find at TOM which claims to bring the 'city's best'. That being said you won't be short of options if you can't pick a cuisine. Gets busy during weekends as one would expect but you can certainly find a spot to sit.

It s definitely convenient to have all of Chicago s heavy hitters under one roof on the trendiest street in the city, but you re definitely paying a premium for that convenience. I went with a girlfriend, and we each had an appetizer, main dish, glass of wine and dessert. Each of our bills totaled $65. Bear in mind, you re getting items at each booth, and then you re paying tip and crazy restaurant taxes. Add it up, it s more than Chicago s already absurd sales tax. The food, while good, wasn t worth what we paid. You re better off walking down to Randolph to enjoy a better dining experience at $65 pp.

Food isn't as good as the original restaurant locations. No water. No place to put dirty dishes, no coat racks, no signage for bathrooms. Still needs some work. Overrated for the price. Also no cash allowed so if you work a service job, here's another barrier to entry.

Super average. Staff was nice. And the food options were ok. We found it crazy expensive as Chicagoans that could go to these restaurants. Time Out should check out the Milwaukee city market which is awesome

I appreciate the concept but it was a jungle in there! High end food court where many of the top food joints in Chicago is accessible for a quick meal. Limited items on the menu and runs out quick but if you re looking to get a taste of variety in the Chicago food scene... perfect.

Good variety cuisines (about 20-24 shops) they have good ice creams and reasonably priced booze. They have Most of Asian cuisine, Fusion food and on the second floor there is sushi. Overall, good for a weekend brunch. Atmosphere is nice.

Great food, great selection. Just don't expect to be able to hold a good conversation due to the loud music and noise of people talking, and don't expect to sit long because of the uncomfortable hightop chairs.

Excellent food hall in a great part of the city. Pretty cool to see the old meatpacking area transform into such a fun area. The food here is a diverse collection of tastes from some of Chicago's best chefs.

I did not appreciate the security personnel leering at me and my party. I understand the need for security at such a popular and vibrant establishment, but I think there is a way for security to be maintained without making patrons feel so unwelcomed.

Time Out Market Chicago was a great experience - sugar Cane - Strawberry Shortcake just needs a little more strawberries!! The drinks were good and the fried shrimp sushi was interesting- other cities like Downtown Detroit should do something like this- thanks Time Out Market Chicago

I love TIME OUT MARKETS!!! I've been to the one in Lisbon (recommended by a co-worker) and now the one in Chicago. Outstanding and fun experiences in both. They truly pull together some of the city's best talent to bring you a foodie's dream come true. It is now a bucket list mission of mine to go to all the markets and eat something from every single station.

TOM is pretty slick. It's a great space without "too too much" pretentiousness.

Bar is good, food is good, and service is good. Food could still be better -- I think the freshness is impacted by the "beeper" system, which causes significant delay between plating and pickup.

Lots of interesting flavors to choose from.

Credit card only at the restaurants, cash OK at the bar. Be super cool and use mobile payments.

Giant food court with multiple bars on each level including the roof. John Manion and the Purple Pig were the stand outs for us on our first trip. We ordered the whole menu at Manion s joint and I was blown away! Great new place we will be back to try more options!

Love the options available at this market and a great place to hang out with friends. It caters to all sorts of diets, preferences and is a communal space where you can rub shoulders with the locals or just soak in the happy atmosphere on a Friday night. Do try the coffee, which I found absolutely delicious :)

Makes sense why it s one of the hottest restaurants in town. It has about 15 restaurants in one place so choice is varied. Overall very pleasant, great food and easily accessible. They should dim the lights slightly to create a better environment.

Would also appreciate if they made the venue for sustainable and vegetarian friendly. Definitely not vegan friendly but that s a wider issue.

Lots of space and spread across several floors. Super family friendly which is nice.

This is my favorite style of dining! Getting to choose between multiple styles of food without leaving the heat of indoors. We had a Mott burger, a deep dish slice and a duck peanut butter and jelly. Everything was incredible and I will definitely come back to the time out market!

Amazing variety of gourmet foods. Community style bench seating means you can usually find a spot and maybe make a friend. I got a Chicago "beef" unlike any I've tried before. It will take 15 visits to even come close to sampling the variety here.

A great rendition of a food concept that allows for every taste, diet, and hankering to be pleased. The different varieties of food, drinks, and desserts is almost overwhelming but definitely appealing no matter if its for a quick snack, a night out, or a business lunch.

Experience a sample of what's trending in Chicago restaurants at this dining hall. The price range may be a little high for some but the best thing about this place is that you can try different restaurants without really commiting to one. I highly suggest the buttery and crunchy Mini Mott burger. Also, try the corn dog from Duck Inn Dogs.

It's a really cool space, the good choices are insanely good, almost overwhelming. The two downsides I seen are parking is awful, so to valet is 16 bucks. Pretty expensive if you're going for lunch. Also if you're going there for lunch, it's pretty expensive, you're going to spend $20 minimum. I think this is more of a dinner place until they think about adding adding lunch discounts. Overall I enjoyed the food and atmosphere a lot.

The latest and one of the best in chicago. Gokd choices from known chefs and restaurants. 2 blocks from Politan which is the opposite with less known chefs but equally interesting. What about all the other spots?

Choices are a bit overwhelming but the place is really cool - just make sure that you either have a credit card since they won't accept cash or a temp card that you can get from the bar. Had this awesome lemon pie and the girl behind the counter graciously explained to me how the payment works. If you're on a budget though, just check out the prices first. Happy hour is between 5-7. Enjoy!

Our first visit and we loved it. We love the concept as we have experienced this in Europe and happy to see it in Chicago.

Very clean and nice vibe. We came here for lunch. We found plenty options for us(we are vegan/vegetarians). The Jackfruit Burger, Beets Sandwich and Eggplant Naan were amazing. Do try some beer and cocktail options from the bar.

Tips:
- This area is hard to find parking so consider car share ride or cabbing it. There is awesome valet service
- the bathrooms are on the second and basement floor.
