Tidewater Finance Company Review

I was a customer with Tidewater for 3 years and 2 months, during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC my household income was spread thin and there was a temporary loss of income, I called and asked for a deferment and was told a form would be mailed to me, well I never received a form. Secondly the processing for my reimbursement of GAP INSURANCE IS TERRIBLE through this company, and instead of the representative apologizing and offering reassurance she stated "well like I told you I'll put the request in and I don't know how long it will take to process nor the amount Thank you good bye, that was rude and sarcastic. Anyway I would never suggest anyone go through financing anything with Tidewater nor will I ever in the future. Too bad I can't rate ZERO.

I traded in a 2016 Dodge Charger several weeks ago. I was prompt in reaching out and getting a 10 day pay off prior to doing so. My new car lender CARVANA send a check for the payoff quote well before my 4/01/2021 payment. I received a call Today stating that I owed $75 no big deal I'll pay it. But now I'm getting alerts from CAP ONE who I have credit cards with that my auto loan is delinquent. How is this possible?

Do NOT let these scam artists and their ilk finance your car.....we made our 2 initial payments and they repossessed our vehicle anyway. We immediately contacted them and was told to produce the receipt for the in office payments made. We didn t have it ....so we re SOL....we can t make up the 2 payments now magically unaccounted for....Virginia Beach Police say it s a civil matter...a rep took our payments in cash and never applied them.

I am a former auto repossessor and even I can see this place is bad news....they sold the car at auction without giving us proper notice and now demand we pay 20K on a loan that was only 16K and that s after they sold the car and applied the balance to the loan.

Please....if you value your property, your money, job or sanity avoid these folks....read the reviews...I own my mistake but this is gone too far...they are stealing from people...

I just started with them. My experience thus far has been professional. After reading the previous reviews, I will be very cautious and ensure I get my payment confirmation and/or receipts. I will NEVER pay in cash like someone has previously posted. That was awful!
Tidewater please do better and learn from previous customers experiences. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REPUTATION EVERYTHING!!!!

The few people that I have spoken with have been knowledgeable and professional. Assistance has been offered to help me without having to ask. I recommend this company.

I haven t had much interaction with this company but they did come through with financing for me after struggling with financial difficulties and finally bankruptcy. The approval was quick and they provided their service, high rate lending for those deemed as credit risk. The story begins!

I am a new customer of Tidewater Finance, although I have only spoken with a couple of representatives each encounter has been pleasant. The staff is very helpful, friendly and it was a pleasant exchange. I recently suffered a financial setback and was having difficulty finding financing for a vehicle, Tidewater accepted my application and provided financing at an affordable rate considering my current credit status. I was informed by the dealership that the President of the company personally reached out to them to lower my payments because he felt that they were too high. I was also offered the option to split my payments in half each month. I have never had such a positive experience with a lender. I will continue to sing their praises.

Recently went thru a chapter 13 bankruptcy.. Had
a car accident that totalled my car. Tidewater financed my new car with no hassles and very fast.

My husband and I where in a tough place but thank God for this great company that lift us up and helped us tremendously ....we where looking for a nice Honda we couldn t get finance but like I said they came in and helped out trusting us with finance thank you so much Guys I definitely would recommend you guys any day of the week and and hopefully later we ll work together again as you guys rock !!!! Gracias

Extremely easy to do business with Tidewater. My loan was approved in a few hours and their follow up was immediate and professional.
I would gladly do business with them again.
