I bought my second bike last week from Thunderroad Bridgend, took it back to have a Satnav fitted and heated grips. The sales advisor Chris was excellent and I was really pleased with the deal.
I had to return the bike for an issue with the front brakes, it was sorted quickly and effectively. Emma on the service department was brilliant. I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone looking to buy a new or used bike.
Took my bike for a Honda recall which i had bought some else very nice and friendly staff , good Cafe upstairs overall a good place to visit or buy anything
Great place loads of bikes clothing and accessories the cafe is great does a lovely breakfast
Top end bike shop first class servicing facilities huge stock of new and used bikes and gear. Great cafe upstairs too
Great range of bikes new and used, good selection of clothing and accessories, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. And a good cafe!
This is the first time I've used Thunder Road after a recommendation from a friend. All I can say is what a service! Not only did they service the bike really quickly, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful too, as well as there being a great cafe to wait in with a stunning view of Bridgend. Will definitely be bringing my bike back here for a service and would definitely consider buying a bike from them when I'm ready for an upgrade. Top marks!
Hundreds in tesco etc . And I got stand outside with just 2 inside your shop.
I just wanted to say thank you to one of your sales team who helped me out with my bike on the way back from a Rally. He managed to sort the clutch out for me so I could get back to Wrexham. Definitely went over and above. If you were More
Great staff, very helpful with every possible thing you could ask. Plenty of new and used bikes to look at. The breakfasts are fantastic also!
Really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. No pressure sales. Decent selection of kit too. Looking forward to our next visit
Not been there for bike stuff. Have been there for breakfast though. Good price. Good portions.
Great service from Sam in sales, not to mention a good deal. A warm welcome (with plenty of coffee) when I arrived to collect my bike.
Really nice staff well happy with the service, Richard was really friendly and approachable. Now just can't wait to pick up my bike
Rich is excellent. Bought three bikes here in August. Very helpful.
Absolutely great place got three bikes from them Cb1300 CRF250L and the Cb125r. They treat you like family really would recommend
Great Service ,Great food and a fantastic choice of bikes.
This place charges you for things they haven t even done on your motorbike. Only ever went there once because I was so disgusted with my first motorbike service. Found a place in treorchy Called Baz bikes that I could not recommend highly enough. Ask around and I m sure you will never go to Thunder Road again.
Love the place staff are great they make you so welcome
Superb staff - very professional sincere organisation - seem to really care about the customer. Great range of accessories bought a BMW F650GS last year from them - spare key didn't fit. New one arrived in days no quibble. Great bike - it's very rare nowadays to deal with a retail business with a family feel about it .
Well done guys.
Plenty of choice. We were looking at Indians. Andrew was very helpful. Going back in January for a test drive
Very disappointed. I ordered my bike from them, trusting it was a good deal, but there were a lot of expensive untold details. Engine electric problems, low oil, wheels full of small dents, rust on the top of the suspension, etc.
Lots of bike options and all in great condition, I recently bought an xsr900 from there, it was pretty straight forward. Upstairs is a cafe with nice food too.
I recently bought a bike from Thunder Road after seeing it advertise on eBay.
I was given a very fair P/X price and once I visited the dealership a few days later I was blown away by the amount of genuine passion regarding motorcycles. (Travelled from Reading, Berkshire)
I felt that Chris W conducted the sale in a very professional and non-patronising manner. (All questions answered)
Happy to recommend to ALL bikers as the whole team here are genuinely IN TO IT! (A biker's shop run by passionate bikers)
Amazing they was all very helpful, go over everything with you, left with a full tank
Great customer service, bike checked over even thou I had only tyres fitted. Great breakfast up stairs while I waited. I wish I had this level of customer service when I have my car serviced.
Had a really good experience buying a bike from this dealer. Found the bike on Autotrader and rang in to briefly discuss. Sam answered all my questions over the phone, even going to look physically at the bike whilst we were talking.
I travelled across to the dealership where I was made very welcome with no hard sell, just honest conversation.
Bought the bike and it turned up on my doorstep exactly as promised, delivered by Jason.
Great service and welcoming approach (I have not been on a bike for 20+ years) that made me feel at ease in purchasing from these guys.
Would happily go back and recommend this dealership to all.
A good experience for motorcycle servicing etc. After using another Bridgend based bike service centre with my previous machine who were an absolute nightmare. Thunder Road are a pleasure to use.
05/06/18 just had my GSX back after a few days at Thunderoad.
Early this year I had spine surgery which was extensive thus not yet fit enough to ride.
My bike needed an MOT and service and for a reasonable fee Thunderoad sent a van and took the gsx from my garage to be serviced and MOT'd, the driver then returned my bike and parked it safely back in the garage.
The driver who was absolutely brilliant phoned advising on pickup and drop-off times.
Well done Thunderoad for your services and helping me with my problem.
I found the perfect bike here and Sam was very helpful with a video inspection as I live in Hampshire. They arranged a service and MOT, delivered it to me without a hitch. Great service and product.
Great place to view all types of motorcycles and a range of electric bicycles. Also really first class cafe.
Looking at a gtr1400 broken mirror s lot of marks ? No problem don't buy
Bought my new CB1000R in June, brilliant deal and a pleasure to do business with, great people!!!
Amazing staff always help me get what I need also nice cafe upstairs
Always helpful.
Chris at the service desk was brilliant
Good food and nice place to look at the bike's all so cloth and parts to maintain your own bike
Plenty of bikes to check out here, spoilt for choice
From when you enter the door to when you leave the staff are so friendly and helpful. The aftercare when you purchase a bike is amazing. Been going there a while and have no complaints with Bridgend shop. The canteen food is beautiful.
Great place to eat the breakfast from the cafe upstairs was delicious
If you want to buy a bike this is the place to go. A vast array of bikes of every type. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and a cafe! I will be back next week to try a couple of bikes.
Following a recent SMIDSY incident resulting in minor damage to my bike Thunder Road were prompt in dealing with estimates and repairs whilst my insurers dithered and delayed. They also resolved a wiring problem with my SatNav incidentally to carrying out the repairs.
Thanks Martin and your mechanic for your help.
I picked up some replacement brake pads, all the staff are pleasant.
I went there for parts for my Honda bike and they fitted me in for a tyre change if I would take wheel off at short notice, friendly people I would go there again even to look at the show room bikes on sale
Nice guys ordered a part they were supposed to text or email when part for my bike turned up did not.
I had to chase them got to bridgend to be told it's in Newport really .but very polite just wish I had been told when it had turned up and where it actually was
Called in today to pick up a battery for the vstrom as lockdown had taken it's toll. Spoke with Darren on the phone initially who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Easy 5 stars.
I had my GSXR 750 LO front brakes and master cylinder upgraded at Thunder Road recently and while doing so got a HEL "carbo-look" set of braided hoses fitted to the front with a fantastic special offer that Gavin mentioned to me whist in the shop.
The service I experienced was 5 star, with the whole service team looking after everything during my visit.
Thanks again Thunder Road, it was a pleasure to do business with you!
Ian Jordan
Always a warm welcome here and the staff go out of their way to help with anything bike related, huge stock of used bikes and keenly priced.
(edit) **** I've upped my star rating because every time I visit I feel comfortable viewing bikes without salesman jumping on me .... I'm looking to buy in the spring so my attention always goes to certain bikes and I'm never hassled even though the staff must have seen me several times lately viewing the same models I'm interested in ..... oh and the food is excellent value and very well presented and well cooked ..... what's not to like :-)
Bought 2two motorcycles from here and haven't really had an issue. My only issue is I've been trying to part ex an old 125 however after every call I make no one has ever got back to me. Workshop is fantastic, if something is urgent they will get you seen to in no time.
Great dealer, great staff especially in clothing. Parking fills up fast. Cafe is very good. Always worth a visit if in town.
There's a great team all round at Thunder Road Bridgend - sales, servicing, parts etc. I've bought a bike, my partner has bought a bike there and I've been taken my motorbikes for servicing there over the last 5 years without any issue!
Amazing place with an equally amazing cafe upstairs.
Very good motorbike dealer. Helpful and friendly:)
I recently bought a motorcycle from thunder road at the Bridgend branch and traded in my old bike.
I spoke to Chris Watkinson at Bridgend he was very helpful and polite and I was able to complete my purchase over the phone as I live in Norwich a long way away. The service I received was exceptional from Chris and others I spoke to.The bike was delivered by John who was very friendly and polite all in all great customer service.I would highly recommend this motorcycle dealership to others.I am very happy with my new motorcycle purchase from these guys a big thank you to Chris ,John ,Keith and other guys.
Cheers Kester.
If class service for motorcycles ,clothing and friendly helpful service all under one roof .
Fantastic showroom with lots of bikes to view.. also staff very friendly and lovely cafe upstairs.. !!!
First of all breakfast in the upstairs cafe is amazing ... we ride down as often as we can for a breakfast !!! Great selection of clothing and bikes as well bought my 600 rr from here as well!!! . Service department is also great and very helpful.
Good place to look for a good looking bike and work on a reasonable price.
Great place very friendly and helpful staff top job x
Great place for biker's, well informed and friendly staff and no hard sell. The upstairs cafe is excellent with a good choice of meals and snacks at a nice price.
Great service. The staff are friendly from reception to the cafe. They are competitively priced. Appreciated the free brew whilst waiting for my bike to get serviced.
Lots of "samey" stock, and not enough staff around. I went on to buy this day, but ended up buying from a Swansea dealer instead.
UPDATE: Thunder Road got in touch with me personally in light of this review to apologise for the experience I had, and invited me to give them another try. You have to admit that taking the time to contact me was good customer service. I eventually went in on a weekday, so it wouldn't be too busy, and was able to get some service questions answered.
In general, though, some of my initial impressions remained the same. I didn't really get the feeling that I was welcome.
I suppose the way to spin this feeling positively is to say that I definitely did not feel pressured. No sales guys were breathing down my neck and I was free to wander and check out bikes for as long as I pleased. I even went to the point of testing my luck by sitting on bikes and then lying on the floor to check their brake pads, etc. No one bothered me. At all. Not even once.
Some would see this as a very good thing, and I suppose I do, too, in a way. But it also feels like indifference. So, I'm keeping my review at three stars. Below is my original review, of the first experience I had at Thunder Road.
I don't know how Google's system works, so this review relates to Thunder Road's Bridgend location:
I went in for a visit on the strength of some of the reviews here and I have to say I felt a little let down. I'll stress that my experience wasn't negative, but it also wasn't as positive as I had expected. Firstly, the staff outnumbered customers two to one but I had trouble getting anyone's attention.
Just so you don't think I was simply standing there expecting to be wait on hand and foot, my means of trying to get someone's attention was to walk up to the counter where four members of staff were chatting and politely say, "Excuse me," several times. I was effectively made to wait whilst one of them finished telling his hilarious story.
Thereafter I found myself being passed from one person to another as I sought answers on the cost of service and modifications to my bike. I had to speak to four different people and each time the conversation started with an accusatory: "Did you get the bike from us?"
I came away feeling that I would have to put effort into convincing them to take my money, which is a strange sort of thing.
The word that comes to mind is "parochial." If you aren't already in their scope of who and what their customers are, you never will be. Everyone was nice enough, but I didn't feel welcome. If this were the only Honda dealer around, I'd let it pass, but there are plenty of other good dealers in the area, so I don't think I'll ever go back to this particular location again.
have been a customer of Thunder Road for a few years and always have found the staff friendly and helpful, good cafe upstairs, excellent stock of clothing and accessories, and of course motorcycles, no pushy sales people, generally a comfortable experience whenever the store is visited, would highly recommend Thunder Road .
Initially visited yesterday with intentions to try on some helmets, I was a little disappointed with the lack of availability in larger sizes, there being only 2 XL's "on the shelf"
The salesman in clothing came across as ignorant, not responding to me when I said hello up on arriving, and also seemingly passed me onto the girl there.
The girl who I recognised from Ducati, however was lovely, very helpful and explained the helmets can be ordered in, if there was a specific one I liked or wanted to try, as well as other helmets at the other shops being available- I didn't know there were 3 stores! Or even a cafe!
In the end, I ended up buying a jacket for myself from the sale rail which was an absolute steal, and a perfect fit
Overall I've given 3 stars, it would have been one if it were not for the service from her, she went above and beyond with the helmets, and introducing me to the sale rail. However, nothing at all for the motorbike salesmen who saw me sit on several bikes and said nothing, or the salesman in clothing who practically grunted when I said hi
I can't recommend this company high enough as they are very professional and a pleasure to do business with.
I bought my bike here 3 yrs ago which they delivered to my house and the whole experience was first class.
I have dealt with them ever since from buying parts, clothing and also servicing.
Must mention Phil in the main shop who is one of the reasons why I come back - great customer relationship and an eye for detail and flexible.
I had my bike MOT'd on the 21st Sept 2013 and again Gavin in servicing was fantastic.
As customers all we want is a professional and efficient service and you get that each time you visit.
I won't go anywhere else!!
Great place to look for bikes and leathers. Helpful staff and a good cafe.
Good customer support...but I would have been more encouraged to buy if I could have sat on a scooter
Walked round for ages looking at the nice bikes. Was interested in the xvs but nobody about,
I would rather see more bike stuff, and a shame to see the clothing department has "shrunk"
Has everything a biker could possibly need.. massive selection of bikes and gear and a service department. The cafe upstairs is fantastic.
Staff are always helpful. Nice clean showroom and good selection of bikes for sale. Servicing and parts are quite expensive there but still a good place.
