Store is well set up. But for some reason both this Thriftys and James bay Thriftys boasts very rude staff.
Store is well set up. But for some reason both this Thriftys and James bay Thriftys boasts very rude staff.
Over a week ago I lined up to get into the Fairfield store then entered when it was my turn. After travelling a few meters inside the store I was abruptly stopped by an employee by placing his hand on my chest. He then said I couldn't enter and escorted me back to the lineup and asked if I had been first in line so I lined up again. Later that night the incident remained on my mind so I wrote to the store about the event and have yet to hear back. I am so angry due to this incident I have been shopping elsewhere and without incident I would add. If this is the mentality of certain of their staff, I will continue shop elsewhere even after the Covid crises is over.
Helpful staff and well maintained. Great deli ,fresh fish and butcher. Fast check out. Store size results in less selection on some items. Usually parking available.
Busy parking lot at peak periods of the day, but they are open late for groceries. Staff can be a little on the gruff/unhelpful side at times. Expect long lines at times.
Frankly the store used to be a lot better under the old management.
Thriftys has reasonably priced groceries and great hours.
Lovely store very helpful staff. A little pricey for this pensioner ... but a very nice environment .. thank you
Great grocery store but can be very busy and aisles are narrow.
Love Thrifty Foods and this is convenient and close but often busy, crowded, slow moving, and tight in the aisles and parking lot outside.
Very Nice Store it s busy most of the time The Very First Thrifty Foods Store Nice Friendly Helpful Staff
A good, normal grocery store. A bit pricey and sometimes hard to find a parking spot.
The explosion of plant-based alternatives is most noticeable within this chain.
Good slection of healthy foods and friendly staff. Parking is horrible around 4-5pm. Prices are little bit on the high side.
fresh and local products , many option , varietyof selection , just small parking
If you're in Fairfield and need groceries, shop here.
The goods are good, complete, the price is a bit awkward!
Good food selection and great service but the parking lot is far too small and cramped and surrounding roads are residential parking only.
Bought this last week. On for $1 / lb. Keep an eye out for sales in their flyers and every morning their meat is marked down , go early and feeding the family won't be half the struggle. Thriftys is the best.
The Seafood Queen was SPECTACULAR! He was wonderfully helpful, hilarious and entertaining. Thank you for such a fun experience in wrangling our lobsters!
The original Thrifty Foods - store has the best staff of any grocery store in Victoria!
Horrible parking lot, and the fruit and veggies tend to spoil fast, but very convenient location and the employees are friendly.
Prices higher than save-on-foods for identical products. The bakery and deli have much better products available and a good selection. Usually busy with lineups at all cashiers. Parking lot can be hard to find a spot at peak hours.
Lots of good produce and interesting options, but prices are definitely higher than other grocery stores. It's almost always really busy in here and hard to get around all the people. Check out often takes quite a while. Parking lot is also really, really busy and cramped.
Produce is expensive and low quality. You get better quality and price at Save on Foods or Whole Foods .
Small store with quite a bit of selection to choose from. Live Lobster & Crab in tanks, good distraction for the kids.
Expensive food, terrible customer service, poor quality
Had what we need, and good selection of items, but it has the worst parking lot I've ever experienced, and not enough cashiers for how busy it was.
Friendly neighbourhood grocery store. Thrifty's always has a good selection of products and produce
I've been shopping at Fairfield Thriftys since it opened. Until it sold to Sobeys it was my favorite grocery store. In the last while I've seen more changes in the foods they carry, and we are finding that they are getting more and more expensive. However the staff have remained very pleasant and always willing to help. If their prices continue to rise and our favorite foods are no longer available however, we may find ourselves looking elsewhere more often. I do have a lot of customer loyalty, and will always shop there quite often.
exceptional! 2:30 pm Thursday Aug 23, floral department. The two lovely women who served me today gave me stunning service at the Quadra and McKenzie store. thank you
Thrifty is the most expensive grocery store. As far as I know, they don't do price match and most of the time, their "specials" are even higher than their competitor's regular prices. But... I must admit that they have a large variety of food, particularly in the fish and sea food.
Since Sobeys took over everything is terrible (except the service, a legacy from when the c amobells owned it). So few vegan options... we mostly shop elsewhere. Higher prices. Less selection. Bad policies. You can homogenize a grocery chain across a province. Must be done by neighbourhood like it used to be. Sobeys ruined a good grocery store.
the service is excellent and its workers are very efficient
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars, not enough cashiers on.
Descent selections. Good weekly sales - a bit pricey otherwise.
