This Thrifty Foods is pretty well stocked with good food but is usually quite busy and the aisles are kind of small so sometimes it can be a bit frustrating getting out in an efficient manner would recommend going at a less crowded time. Food is generally a little above average price at Thrifty's but when things go on sale they are usually a good deal if you stick to the sales and look for the discounts it's a pretty good place to shop.

The produce and nutritional aisles are wonderful. There is a store owned flower shop across the road as well. Friendly staff.

My favorite place to pickup groceries in the Fairfield and Ross Bay areas of Victoria. Always fresh and clean. The meat market is full of dinner ideas while the deli has great foods to grab n go. Sure to please all.

Big supermarket , many items are sold in bulk. Everything I wanted was always there , there was never a shortage of any product I was looking for. There's always sale prices on some products - worth looking for.

This is the 1st Thriftys location..I have found the prices have become much higher after Sobeys bought the stores.. gold card shoppers who dont about cost won't care..staff sometimes jump in line to buy lunch items..this is unacceptable..customers should come first. Quality of item are very good..

One the smaller side, but well-kept and well-stocked.

This is, I believe, the oldest Thrify's on the Island, and it shows in some ways, though the store does wear it's age well.

Located in what is perhaps the densest and busiest plaza in Victoria, you may have a hard time finding parking of an evening or weekends - be warned. Pedestrians are as numerous as the open spots are few.

Inside, the store is laid out like your typical Thrifty's, albeit with narrower aisles due to the space restrictions: no room to expand here but up, and that will never happen. Lineups are usually less than 5 minutes, even when it's busy, as most of the registers are open during rush times.

There's always staff stocking the shelves to keep products available, and they're always helpful to a fault: I once had a guy track down the last available item from the weekly flyer just because I asked if they had any, though I don't expect that every time - kudos! Almost every staffer seems happy, motivated and busy, which is good to see in such a clean and lively location.

This is my go-to store for sales, thanks to its easy access by bike or bus, but I despise parking here as noted above. There's quite a mix of other stores in the plaza for your needs, but I tend to arrive, shop and get out again before the crowds begin to drag on me. This is definitely not your very-large big box experience, so be prepared to rub elbows as needed.

Every Thrifty's I go to has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have fresh produce and pride themselves on it. Once we got pizza bread (from a different location) and found out that it had mold. We took it back to this one(without the receipt) and they gave us double the credit back and were very apologetic. Exceptional service.

Good deals on a few special things, but they don't carry a lot items I want. Staff are friendly but not very worried about traffic jams in the narrow aisles. If you enjoy spending a lot of time shopping, the experience may be fine, but I can get more items quicker at other stores further from home.

Thrifty Foods is expensive, but it's generally very well stocked, friendly and well-run, despite now being part of the Sobeys corporate behemoth. It has an excellent fresh produce section, a seafood counter that rivals Finest at Sea, and at the Fairfield location, Thrifty's wisely carries quite a lot of high-end, often organic, foods in all departments. This is not Mother Nature's Market nor Whole Foods -- both of which are higher end (and generally even more expensive) -- but for a neighborhood grocery store, Thrifty's offers a very pleasing foray into the quality supermarket experience.

Great supermarket, fresh produce, good selection, great staff. Unfortunately their prices are the highest in town so I limit what I buy there and go to the competition which is equally good for better prices.

First time ever visiting a Thrifty's market, and it was a great experience. Fresh produce, large selection of cheeses, and friendly service. Also had a lovely chat outside with Patrick, who was putting away all the shopping carts; whilst my partner and I waited for our taxi cab.

Just a little too small, so a bit too cramped. Narrow aisles--but Fairfield Thrifty is the first-ever Thrifty and no doubt there were fewer, less-obese clients. Good selection of products, possibly too many cheeses, but fine produce section.

Always good! Friendly staff, excellent customer service no matter who assists me. Prices are somewhat high in certain areas. Never the less, a store where I enjoy shopping. Watch for the sales because many times the savings are incredible.

Typical Thrifty Foods. This store is older, and so is a bit cramped for space. They went downhill a few years ago when the chain was sold to Sobeys, but they have made changes and have since improved. They always have very good fresh produce. The deli in this location is decent, and the bakery is alright. Because it is the only supermarket in the Gonzales-Fairfield area, it is often crowded during peak hours, so I try to get my shopping done during quieter times.

Fairfield Thrrify Food s , I I have lived in this neighborhood over 35 years and been a loyal customer, tonight I went in and I saw that you had one of my favorite things you have at Christmas time your white chocolate shortbread and they were absolutely awful sadly. I normally serve them at my salon to give as gifts but it was raw inside so now I have to go all the way back to your store, and return them which I don t have a lot of time in my day to do that so from now on I m not going to be buying any of your baked goods anymore.
It isn t the first time this has happened and I m finding your quality Has really gone down and the service in the store is absolutely not the way it used to be. Something needs to change or otherwise people are starting to go other places where they do price matching like Walmart, save on foods, superstore so you better step up your game because your quality, your service your lack of caring for the customers in our neighbourhood has really gone down and I m a business owner, you need to step her game up.

This is my least favorite Thrifty's on the island. Talk about cramped! Watch out for uppity boomers elbowing their way to the organics section. Drive a few minutes to James Bay Thrifty's for a less stressful experience with more selection.

Like all the Thrifty stores they are 10 to 15 percent more expensive than say SaveOn or Superstore. The place is clean and service good. They used to be locally owned and were very tuned into the community. This has changed since Sobeys purchased them. I don't mind paying a premium for convenience and to support a firm that supports the community but at present I buy the majority of my groceries at Superstore for the savings.

Good parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Physical building and product display needs updating. Lots of local products e.g. B.C. nectarines currently available ... the best I have ever tasted! (Sweet and juicy). However, overall product quality has deteriorated since new owners took over. Great place to meet your neighbours, particularly if one lives in the community of Fairfield.
