Medical staffs are professional and friendly, foods r delicious and suitable, but the cesarean operation fee is a bit expensive.

Had 2 kids there and had nothing but praises for the staff and doctors. Facilities were a bit old but adequate.

Our stay at Thomson Medical has been amazing! It felt like a staycation amidst the circuit breaker! Some days I even forget that I was in a hospital as their service was like a mixture between a confinement centre and a hospital which made transition into confinement practices a bit easier after discharge.

A very special thanks to the professional doctors took care of me medically and to the caring nurses that motivated me during my delivery and nurses that continued to care for recovery.

Looking back at my experience, I m missing the stay and everyone that I met during my stay. Everyone was so pleasant and positive and it made it a good start to parenthood!

You will lose faith in humanity If you go to this hospital.. From the Indian receptionist who is cold hearted when we brought our sickly 2 year old and she was rude to us and was scolding us who was our pediatrician and how all their rooms are full in a rude way. We moved to Mt alvernia we were met with service with compassion and a heart a complete opposite experience. They treat foreigners pretty badly and they hate their job at Thomson medical the receptionists.. Why not find a different job if you hate people who are sick and especially don't be in the service industry !!

Good option for delivery. May not look the newest, but team well trained and competent. Nurses on ward can be incredible at times. Current fathers able to be at delivery (incl. C-sections I believe) during Covid. Good water birth options available.

This is the 2nd time my wife gave birth here, the nurses here are very nice and friendly. Food is good too. Only complain I have is the lack of food choices for visitors and the lousy parking areas.

This centre has been in operation since the 80 nearby currently Thomson road and Balestier road

Has been calling the child birth education dept for 10+ calls but calls are not being answered. Wrote an email to request for reverting calls, the dept replied the email and I request again to give me a call as i has been calling since morning from 9am - 11am for things to be clarified.
No one reverting back a call.

Hope the dept can look into this matter as patient / customer experience could be low due to the person in charge is not responding.help and clarification needed but no response.

I went for xray for kidney stone scan but it took 3 xrays because the 1st xray, the nurse forgot to put in the film and the second xray was done at wrong part. Hopeless place.

I would like to recognise the efforts of Sister Pushpa and the nursing team at Thomson Medical Centre.

My husband and I were planning to initially deliver at Mount Elizabeth Novena, and had been going there throughout our pregnancy. However due to tragic and unforeseen events, had to seek another gynae at TMC, and decided last minute to do a delivery there. It was the best decision we could have made.

In our darkest hours, Sister Pushpa and her team were the compassionate team of nurses that we needed to make the experience less harrowing. She and her team gave us the confidence that we could get through this, and gave us hope for the future. Even though we were only there for 1 night, she checked in on us 4-5 times, and her compassion in wanting to be there for us shone through. The sincerity and empathy in their service is what will always set them apart from other hospitals. It is outstanding.

I hope that the next time I am back, it will be for a positive birth experience. And there is no doubt that it will be at TMC.

Worst customer service in a private clinic or any clinic! 3 nurses at the counter and only 1 could issue the queue number?? 2 nurses pushed the job to 1 nurse who was occupied, dispensing medicines to an outpatient. She was thorough in her explanation. But took so long. In the meantime 2 patients left without getting a queue number. Never again!

Delivered my first child here and had an excellent experience! The nurses were kind, warm, encouraging and put me at ease. I was well looked after right from admission. The hospital staff are also very helpful and patient in answering any queries I had. In particular, Polly - a wonderful hospital ambassador, who was always a joy to speak with! All in all, my experience at Thomson medical centre was extremely positive and I felt completely at ease at every visit even during a global pandemic.

Great place to have your baby born in here. They need more experience staffs to teach how to nurse the baby to new mom.

It was ok, the admission took a long time, we need to wait for 30 minutes even though we're next in line at the queue

I visited the 24 hour clinic on a public holiday. It was busy and while the staff moved briskly they were so patient and nice to explain all the details of my condition. I had to run several tests and a check up, it was all conducted empathetically and I was made to feel very comfortable by the doctor and nurses. They also gave me options on buying the prescriptions there or at pharmacies - no hard sell. Very impressed with the service so I am surprised by some of these terrible reviews.

Thankfully I only had a viral infection with flu like symptoms. Anything more serious I would recommend others go somewhere else.

The doctor was madly typing out a long list of medications / prescriptions and didn t even make eye contact before I could even finish describing how I felt.

Very lousy hospital.Never tell patients real costs. Patients asks for total costs but they are not honest about total costs.Lots of hidden costs. They scare customers run away.Very dishonest hospitals doctors,nurses,counter staffs. They will lie about real costs,wait till you deliver baby already,going to discharge,then will shock you with their expensive hidden costs. Private hospitals also should not work like this. This is medical industry. Not sales industry. I think TMC can be voted best sales-aggressive hospital.

Very slow service, not nearly as responsive as other hospitals. They have far more patients than they have capacity for. Expect to wait at least an hour for your queue number to be called. UPDATE: the staff has apologized for the long delay and has promised to do better in future.

FURTHER UPDATE:
If you are taking the shuttle from Novena MRT, you must watch for the shuttle like a hawk and push your way in as soon as the doors open. It won't be easy to spot the shuttle, because it will be plastered with advertisements for cord blood freezing, supplements, etc. The word "Thomson" will probably be written somewhere in tiny text. If you see a shuttle for Cryoviva, that's probably the Thomson shuttle.

As soon as the doors open you must force your way on, lest the driver close the door in your face, as he did to my pregnant wife. Apparently he is eager to finish his route so he can take a smoking break, so he won't always let all the passengers on before driving away.

Update:

Met the gynae, Dr Caroline Khi (ACJ Clinic, Thomson) with Thomson staff to convey, without uncertainty, our disappointment with her performance.

- Found Caroline's explanation on the consistent mis-estimation of birth weight rather underwhelming, given that its not a once off estimation, but rather a consistent mis-estimation from 1st Trimester till birth. One of the Thomson staff claims that 15-20% off birth weight is common in Thomson.

- Caroline did try to explain her decisions during the birth process. We remain to have some doubt given the her poor performance.

- Overall bill was adjusted slightly based on goodwill and attached for reference. Nevertheless, still a low value for money place for giving birth. To be fair, some of the Thomson staff are quite helpful, but as a whole, there seem to be significant disparity in experience within Thomson.

I am no medical expert- but the delivery experience is disappointing and worrying for us as first time parents.

1. Admitted at midnight based on gynae's recommendation after 2cm dilation (38 weeks 0 days) was assessed in the morning routine check-up. Clinic says contractions are regular, but wife could not feel them. Dilation was still 2cm when we checked in as per gynae instructions around midnight. Wife was not feeling any contractions. No waterbag burst, No bloody show. Thomson did not explain to us anything and proceeded to induce over 16-17 hrs, before the gynae asked us to go for emergency c-Sect.

2. Gynae consistently estimated a median size baby during our routine visits and estimated birth weight of 3.1kg in the morning. Baby was born low weight (i.e <2.5kg). Does not seem to me (from 1&2) that the baby was ready to come out. We were informed that there are higher risk associated w low weight babies, which further made us worried. No explanation given to us by anyone.

3. Total hospital bill over the 3 days was more than $20k (This also includes a $4k doc fee (only) for removing a small cyst which the gynae said she found, and sought permission to remove without stating price, when stitching up. Cyst eventually turned out not to be an issue after microscopic test)

4. Cryoviva sales agent all around Thomson (including the clinic areas) selling their cord blood packages, which annoys me. Sales content is different from what u hear from Singapore Cord Blood Bank.

No more Thomson for me again.

a pity this medical centre is a bit small in size. but when it comes to facility there is nothing to doubt about it.

Great hospital tour. Polly was very informative and helpful.

One of the most affordable place to deliver your baby, nurses are good and doctors (depends on who you get) parking wise is abit horrible thou. Crazy prices yet always full. Either you valet or Park opposite at the hdb and walk over via the bridge.

Appalling. Minimal waiting which I now realise was due to the doctor taking 30 seconds with each patient. Dont take your sick child here.

I like the services of Polly and Zairy at the Information counter. They were very forthcoming and answered my membership queries patiently.

Horrible experience at Thomson Diagnostics Centre (Novena). Bad service and long waiting time.

My Toddler has been visiting Dr Yang Linqi from Thomson PD Centre at TMC since birth. ( really like her, and the 2 stars are for her). But the disorganised and messy clinic adminstration is a disaster which partly contributed to the long wait time, other than the doctors' popularity. Obvious piling backlogs in registration and dispensary counter, inefficient allocation of staff, poor tracking of queue no ( to know the current status of some doctors, clinic nurse had to go doc room to check) , and the staff looked constantly stressed. Queries are ignored, and staff pretend not to see you when trying to get attention. Yesterday, I was trying to stock up some supplements and I was there for 30mins in front of dispensary counter, being brushed away/ ignored. The worst clinic administration I have seen, and amazed that this has continued for years.

Just went for the maternity tour with my husband at TMC conducted by Angie Ng. The tour was very well conducted and Angie made it so informative for us! Great experience and service.

1st time visit. Nurses and doctor are attentive and professional. Lots of patients.

This review is dedicated to the parking facility at the hospital. I know the hospital is constantly improving their parking facility and they've partnered with Frin valet. Their service is good and the waiting time is acceptable. However, they need to be more careful in handling cars. The valet parked my car in the mechanical parking and one of the wheels had a kerb damage. It's not a big deal but it will cost me time and some money to get it fixed at a tyre shop. I won't give 1 star because the hospital is still a good place so 2 stars from me.

Great specialist hospital for gynae and obstetric cases

Labour delivery ward- special thanks to DR. WONG Heng Fok, Ms Mila and Susan Lim for the smooth delivery of my healthy baby girl

After my medical appointment when i came out Only then i found out that It was raining heavily and i realized that I didn't take my umbrella along and i was also carrying my sick baby. I book grab and had to wait for my grab.

Then there was this malay guy working in Thomson hospital when my grab came he shelter me all the way until i got into the vehicle making sure that my baby and i didn't get wet.

I never expected the hospital to have such service.
I noticed the guy`s name tag. His name is Zairy.

I didn't ask to be shelter or ask for help. But he just came and ask if i am waiting for someone or if i am waiting for grab and he shelter me.

I am happy that there is such service. I will recommend my friends to come here.

I would like to give her a positive feedback. She was so informative and very caring during the whole tour especially for first time mothers like myself. She made me feel that I made a right choice by booking a room at Thomson Medical.

Very professional place with good attitudes from the doctors and staff alike. Parking is always very limited.

I was at the entrance of Thomson i was helpless coz i was carrying my baby and carrying a bag. Doent know my way. Where a staff call Aisha who came and direct me to the children's clinic. Thumbs up for the service!

Bad service, unclear instructions, paid for delivery at hospital but still have to pay for parking. food catered is overpriced, no food options within facility. Paid as a stay in visitor but given a sofa to sleep on, still have to pay separately for lunch and dinner on top of stay in fee. Disappointing

Only excellent experience was from the delivery team and staff at level 3 and 4. Level 1 staff just spoilt the whole experience for me.

I would like to compliment Ms Anuja from the Patient Service Centre for her 5* helpfulness, attentiveness, patience and service. As a first time patient due for hospitalisation for a surgery, it was stressful to think about the procedure I was about to undergo and even more so on billing and payment matters. Knowing that I had concerns about the admission procedure and payment, she initiated to speak with her team in order to smoothen the process for me. Furthermore despite not working on the day of my admission, she also completed the pre-admission paperwork prior to be handed over to her colleague. Upon discharge, she followed up and provided me the contact whom I can reach out to with pertaining to the status of my claim. Throughout our correspondences, Anuja was clear in her advice and detailed in her follow-up which I appreciated as I dislike uncertainty. Anuja has certainly eased my stress on payment and administration matters so I can focus on recovering well. Thank you Anuja!

Great location and facilities but somewhat mediocre services by the nurses.

Outpatient services and the counter staff are really slow in their service standard.

Doctors here can be good depending on which clinic you go to. Nurses are competent.
The painful thing about this place is that the parking can be a nightmare. Whilst they do have valets here. I find most of them to be rude or impatient, there by making the already stressful parking situation worse.

This has pretty much turned me off from the place. For my family's pediatric needs, I much prefer other locations without the nightmare parking issue.

Senior staff nurse Marie from level 4 is excellent. Always makes patients feel at ease, even when taking blood! Am seeing her with Dr Kevin tan, everyone works well in a team together. Service is warm and friendly.

Very expensive, has rude customer service and it is impossible to get information of the lab results afterwards. I recommend using another hospital.

I would like to share my pleasant experiences with Thomson Medical's TCM. I visited Physician Ho Wee Kok who practises at NUH Medical Centre for a headache. Physician Ho is a caring, professional and thorough physician. He would listen attentively and ask for thorough history before administering treatment. I had migraine since early July and after repeated consultations at Raffles, spending so much money, my condition did not improve at all. However, Physician Ho managed to relief my pain after one session of acupuncture. Physician Ho would also take time to advise on the food to refrain from which I did not get from visiting Raffles. The medicine he prescribed works well for me as it delivers the effect. I would strongly recommend Physician Ho to anyone who is looking for a caring and skilful physician.

Just did a hospital tour with Zairy from information counter. Very informative. Went to all rooms that Thomson have to offer and everything were explained thoroughly. Goody bag was given too! Thank you Zairy & Polly!

Unfortunately there isn't many car park space. You have to use valet service which cost $5 and they'll put your car far away from the hospital. They'll provide shuttle bus to the car park once you pay the service upon finishing.

The hospital is thoughtful of mother and baby with nursing and changing diaper room provided.

I would like to thank the Thomson Medical staff who assisted with the safe delivery of my 3rd baby boy.
I checked in on 31 May 2019 and was there till 2 June 2019. All the staff at the delivery suite Room 7 did a fantastic job!

Attended a hospital tour led by Angie Ng, she is really knowledgeable and professional. Made my wife and I more comfortable with the process

I would like to compliment Ms Siti Miriam, the lactation Consultant. She is very patient, knowledgeable and very assuring . She went the extra mile to answer all the questions we have . I am very impressed . she has far exceeded my expectation and is even better than all the famous Consultants I see online . I have ever even hired a consultant home but the experience is not as good as the one by Siti .

Additionally , at the labour ward, sister Grace Au is fabulous and extraordinary. 5 thumbs up . I will spread this gd experience . Giving a short review now as time constraint but will write a detailed one soon

The Doctors are very professional and the info counter staff Polly and Grace are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend going for the hospital tour to find out more about the different rooms and charges.

Had a super bad experience. The employee at the Patient Service Center was super rude as well. Admission took 1 hour because the person was new and did not know the processes well. Just called them regarding the hospital bill and the person who answered was totally impatient in answering my queries. It seems like the hospital did not have enough manpower to handle the customers. Not worth paying so much for this private hospital. Suggest to visit others.

Joined the first-time mum maternity tour with my wife. Angie provided us with great and detailed service and shared a lot of knowledge regarding breastfeeding as well. Highly recommend.

Contrary to other reviews, I believe it really boils down to the attitude of individual staffs. The care and attention my wife received was beyond my expectation. We were in the labour ward on 01/08/2015 approx 6.30am and was attended by a senior nurse whose name was Angie Liew (if I remember her name correctly), both she and her colleagues during the shift was very professional and caring. When my baby was in fetal distress and had to undergo an emergency c-sec, the instructions given by her to other staff nurses were quick and firm. I could see the sense of urgency in them and protocols were well adhered to. Eventually my baby was brought onto this world safely. Kudos to the team at TMC

2nd time delivering in this hospital. 1st was July 2019 has great experience in operating theatre with nurses Mila & Mary Jane whom assisted in monitoring my condition till delivery. They were awsome and encouraging.. Definitely helped guide me on technic for an efficient delivery. This year 1st Nov 2020 was even better experience compared to 2019. Excellent teamwork from Nurse Mila, Susan Lim & Siew Hoon. Very happy with all the nurses&Staff that attended to me at ward 324B. Making my 2days stay very pleasant experience. Lastly we also observed that the staff whom assisted us in boarding taxi is very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended place for delivering of babies.

My wife was admitted to Thomson Medical on 17 December 2019. She was discharged on 21 December 2019 together with our beautiful daughter.

We would like to thank our gynae Dr Tan Pamela Yu Fen for being so professional, genuinely caring and supportive during our stay there. She was always sensitive and attentive to our birth preferences, and patiently took the time to explain how certain decisions we had to make were for the best for both mummy and baby.

We also like to thank all the nurses at the Delivery Suite and the Maternity Ward for being so caring and patient. We really felt that we were in good hands and under great care.

During our time in the Delivery Suite, we were attended to by Sister Mila. Her cheerful, calm and positive manner really helped us during the difficult moments. She was very patient with our requests, and also very encouraging to us during our stay in the Delivery Suite. She made sure my wife was comfortable and helped her to the restroom while attached to the drip, and also made sure my wife was comfortable with the wireless fetal monitor. Her kind and encouraging presence, together with the excellent care she provided, was a great source of comfort and support to my wife.

Afterwards when we were in the maternity ward, Sister Susie and her team were always very ready to help and encouraging with tips on breastfeeding.

My wife and I are now home and happily very busy with our baby girl. We are thankful to our doctor and all the nurses and staff who took great care of us during our stay at Thomson Medical.

Poor management on safe entry requirements. Step 1 should be safe entry procedure before the health declaration form. (step 2).queue poorly managed and it is a bad experience for pregnant women in the heat/wet weather. Parking is a pain as well as you will always have to rely on valet.

We went for a hospital tour guided by Sister Angie in August and greatly appreciate her friendliness and information provided! She gave us a thorough tour and gave practical tips as well.

At the same time, I would also like to express my displeasure with TMC Assistant Manager Guest Services staff Ms Annie Chionh for her lack of responsiveness and unclear communication in emails with regards to admission enquiries, and being sarcastic and raising her volume over the phone (and subsequently citing that it was due to her donning a mask).

Am having an upcoming delivery of baby in November and certainly hope the nurses and other administrative staff would be great.

Nadrah at Birth Registration was extremely polite, and helpful. There was an issue with my application due to my own error. Nadrah called ICA to clarify and made the necessary changes. I would like to thank her for the great initiative too.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE experience here! Nurses and staff were extremely rude and hostile. My mother was here for her delivery and was in a lot of pain, the Nurses were screaming and yelling at her to keep quiet and shut up . Service was also extremely slow. You would think since it s a private hospital, service and experience would be better. Everybody is better off at a government hospital, prices are also much more affordable with better service. I would never come here for my own delivery or medical needs and would recommend my friends/family to do the same. Not to mention their IVF mix up a few years ago. Please do yourself a favour and never come here!!!!

Edit (reply to Thomson): they are stating that they didn t find any patient fitting MY description, when I clearly stated I was NOT a patient here but my mother!!! I have contacted them with my mothers details and am waiting patiently for their response.

Terrible parking conditions. Valet lacks proper system of managing cars. Relatively rude and impatient. I believe the valet is managed by Frin Valets.

Doctors and nurses are good at what they do though.

Respected private maternity hospital! Famous for childbirth as well as other specialties. Choice for the overseas elites. Professional caring friendly cosy ambience with facilities.

My wife delivered our first baby in Thomson during the start of April 2020. It wasn't a smooth journey for my boy when he entered this world, but the wonderful staff in Thomson made the journey so much easier for us. Special shoutout to Polly Fong from Guest Services for her compassion and empathy approach towards patients and their loved ones, as well as Liezl Ong from NICU for her patience and assurance to ease the hearts of panic-stricken parents. My wife was suffering from severe pain due to contraction when we reach at the hospital at around 7:30pm, Tuesday 30June.
Upon arrival at the entrance we were greeted by the security personnel, they politely assisted and standby the wheel chair.
Everything was on a rush as they found out that my wife will deliver the baby very soon. Immediately they alerted Dr Ang while they are preparing the tools for delivery. I went down to the reception at level 1 for admission.
I was greeted by Helen, she calmly explained the details and the estimated cost before making the deposit. Half way during the process I told her that I have to go back to delivery suite because my wife will deliver anytime.She told me not to worry as she will just bring the papers for me to sign later.
At around 8:14pm after a few push my wife give birth to a beautiful little princess.
Big thanks to the Nurses at delivery suites attention to details, and to Dr Lawrence Ang our trusted and the best Doctor.
Also to Helen of the paediatric ward, my wife is really happy with her great service. She took care of my new born very well, and gave a lot of advise to my wife in nursing the babies.
Overall, we are very satisfied with Thomson medical team. Kudos to all of you!

Our first delivery experience with TMC was great and we would like to express our gratitude the ward 6 nursing team. Janet s team was very cheerful, positive, friendly and helpful.

In addition, we would like to commend 2 individuals who left a great impression on us.

We would like to compliment Kaveetha on her work ethics. There was always a poitive vibe around her every time when she is the one responding to our call. Her passion on her job is obvious and is always enthusiastic when helping us. It was extra fulfilling every time she delivers her aid.

Secondly, we would like to commend Macik Rozi for her outstanding hospitality. She always go to the extra mile to assure and advise us as first time inexperienced parents. To her, answering a call is never just a routine task. She goes the extra mile and spends sincere effort in aiding us especially during breast feeding. Her experience is immemse and her value to TMC is evident. She is one outstanding aspect that gave us the great stay with TMC.

TMC should be proud of these individuals and team as a general. These frontliners has contributed greatly to the brand name. We beseech you to retain and recognise these individuals as they are of important value to the hospital. Such traits are never easily replaced.

I have been visiting TMC regularly for my wife check up throughout the yrs and I m quite satisfied with the doctors and staffs service.
Parking there is quite smooth too. Normally I will just pass the car to their valet and they will park it at the basement. Collection of car will be a bit slow depend on the queue but is still acceptable.
Unluckily today my car was parked at the open carpark today and was raining heavily. The management should provide the valet staffs with umbrella. They were all drenched. When I collected my car from them the seat was soaking. And i need to rush back to work with my wetted shirt n pants.

Visited my friend here and this is why I will never recommend anyone to deliver at this place. lousy carpark and imagine if you need to give birth, you can never get into the place, it is very unsafe. also staff seems to be doing their best but are obviously unhappy. suspect it is due to terrible hospital management or processes because they look frustrated.

In a hospital tour today lead by Polly Fong, she s very nice and explained in details. Very good experience. This will definitely be the place we give birth to our baby next year.

Was at Thomson last time when wanted to find out more information about maternity ante and postnatal service, Ms Polly was really helpful and gave us a comprehensive information. She was friendly, sincerely and warmly asking us beyond our questions to make sure a newly wed couple could have a proper plan to go the next step of having a child. The labour ward Nurses were very supportive and caring. It made the stressful labour duration much more enjoyable for both parents. The meticulous effort of each staff and nurse right from the front desk to the wards are commendable. The Nurses helped answered questions that us as first time parents were very curious and worried about. Handle our questions in the most professional way to ease our concerns.

Inefficient clinic operation, non-essential examination, postponed diagnosis report, indifference to parents' anxiety for postponement of diagnosis result, and release of responsibility... It is completely a medical professional ethics that is not patient-oriented. My wife and I are very sorry to choose this clinic, which has now been transferred out. Strongly not recommended to you and your family!

My husband and i went for hospital tour guided by Angie! She was very passionate as she walks us thru the whole delivery process which gives us more confidence n assurance as first time parents on what to expect during the entire labour process. She was also very friendly n informative as she shares some of the tips with us based on her past experiences.. it was really useful n we benefited frm it esp during this covid season..
