We hired Thomas Signs to make and install an office building sign for us in Tampa. As soon as we signed the contract to start work, all customer service walked right out the door with that signature. We were never kept abreast of the status of the sign. All phone messages were returned by our salesman, Tim, via email - never a call back. We were never asked to approve fonts before the sign was actually manufactured. Never told when the installation was going to happen. Never told that the installation actually did happen. (We're not tenants of the office building where the sign was installed.) For a business that's in the business of signs, they didn't even quote us the correct cost of permits (a $275 miscalculation!). The way we discovered the sign was actually installed: we got the invoice in the mail. No "Thank you for your business". No phone call from the company to say, "Hello, your sign is there." When we went up to see the sign, the sign was NOT in the position we wished it to be. And the colors were wrong.

No one in the company would take responsibility for any of this.

We should have gone with Signs Now.

Very disappointed in Thomas Signs. And we will not be using them for our future business.

I have had the opportunity to work with Vinnie Papa in the last six months
in converting a pylon sign to monument sign in all phases of the project:
from design, engineering, Duke Energy approval, permits from the City of
Largo, and up to the final installation, etc. My experience with Vinnie has been a pleasure; both of us are fully involved in the process, and my interaction with him, his professionalism, and the results have been commendable and I am fully satisfied. He kept me fully informed of the
progress and all the aspects of the project and at a personal level. I will not hesitate for a moment to recommend him and his company - Thomas Signs & Owning to prospective customers.
Thank you Vinnie,
My best Regards,
Jerry

We contracted Thomas Signs and Awning to do several projects for us. Our practice needed channel lettering and the team has been stellar from start to finish. You can tell they've been doing this for a long time. Highly recommend!

Recently had Thomas Sign and Awning come out to my business to repair our lighted pylon sign. They were unable to give me an estimate up front to repair the sign because they didn't know what they would find inside. Ultimately, they had to bring the bucket truck twice and two men spend the majority of the day replacing wiring, ballasts and tubes. The bill I received seemed incredibly fair for the amount of work that they did. They could have easily charged me three times as much and it would have seemed appropriate, but they didn't take advantage of the situation. I'll be using them more.

Made in America does NOT mean made by Americans. This place exemplifies this better than anywhere else I've seen. I worked in their painting department and it was a joke. they spray epoxy primers and urethane. blatant disregards for safety ( no full face respirators, despite spraying coatings with isocyanates and what the manufacturer of the coating recommends, open cans of solvents, very dirty overall. The 2 co-workers one was a premadonna who had me help him drag his toolbox out (he quit 2nd week i was there in a ploy to get a raise, and sadly it worked, guess that's what it took to get a raise around there.. and the other is a cantankerous racist drunkard.

This place blew my mind, I can't imagine how much waste is involved in just the painting department alone. There is like 4-5 prep guys (that dont speak any English) grinding away with 80-120 grit on orbital sanders on bare metal for hours on end.
You dont need to do all that, just scuff it a little, clean it very well (hard to do there) and spray.. I've seen almost full gallons of what I expect as pretty expensive paint just dumped out, day after day. My advice for Mr. Thomas would be to get an electrostatic painting unit like the ransburg no.2 and spray your signage while saving money on paint, cutting overspray, and reducing the time it takes you to produce a finished sign.
