This is the kind of thing that breeds art and creativity. It s not about popularity or what is selling, it is about art and the belief that art can make the world better. Keep it up! I have been to both locations and love them! Keep up the good work and the great vision.

We got a beanie here for $15 which is a very good deal compared to the ridiculous $125 next door. They also have clean and cozy restrooms. Funny as the female restroom hasvanity mirror with shampoo conditioner lotion etc

When we first visited, it was a busy Saturday afternoon packed with tourists. We dropped in again on a weekday evening and found it more comfortable to browse and take time to explore. It's a fun place and offers a lot of cool experiences, like the molded toy machine, impossible photo booth, listening booth for the vinyl records, and more. We plan to join the quarterly LP subscription: for $60/quarter, you get a special edition LP, CD, and other bonus goodies.

Absolutely amazing place to be. Third Man Records is the best vinyl shop around. Coolest atmosphere and the friendliest staff hands down!!! Love it here. It's like my home away from home.

This place is super cool, definitely one of my favorite places to go before the huge influx of Detroit trenders. I absolutely adore Jack White and this shop is enjoyable both as s record store and a shrine.

Just playing the Mdou Moctar you've pressed. Great quality job.
Sound wise it's nice.
And you can just tell when you look at the LP it's been really well pressed, superb.

Thank you

Cool place in Midtown Detroit with a wide selection of cynics and other clothing items.
Staff is friendly and the pressing room at the back is amazing.
They also host gig on the stage in the room!

One of the most unique shops in all of Michigan. Who will like it: fans of Jack White (or any of his music projects), vinyl fans, proponents of Detroit, and those who like eclectic shopping experiences. Those who won't: people with bad attitudes on life. Thanks Jack for giving back to your hometown, creating some jobs and doing your darnedest to preserve a piece of Americana (vinyl).

The staff fails at putting on an in-store event. They were very rude and turned away over 35 people who were waiting for hours outside in the cold. The event was advertised as free and open to the public when I later discovered while freezing outside that they had a VIP list that kept people from being allowed into the event. This was the worst experience I've ever had at an in-store event. I have never been into the store since it opened and don't ever plan to.

Magnificent. If you are a lover of music and vinyl, knowing that Jack White founded the company in Detroit, and that although it was the second location, after Nashville, it gives a special touch. It's small but with interesting things. Not only is it a store, it also has a stage for presentations, and in the back is the plant where the vinyl is manufactured. They have tours, but on specific dates.

I went there for the first time and ended up coming back to see Ellie Mae as a headliner. Her and the band were just fantastic and the atmosphere there along with the staff make it even better

Definitely a great place to shop for TMR items and to learn about the various things regarding records. Awesome view of the record warehouse in the back window. There is also a photo booth :)

Awesome place! The staff were dressed in coordinating colors, were really friendly and helpful and they provided great information. In the back you can peek through a window and see where they actually press the albums which is really cool. They have lot of interesting stuff. A old school photo booth, a recording booth where you can put your actual voice on a homemade 45, a listening booth, a small stage, a wax mold making machine, and so many other cool things to see. I didn't have a lot of time before I met a friend for lunch, but there is plenty to look at. I think with Detroit coming back so strong that this store is a welcome to the Midtown area and will add further reason for suburban people to come check out the city. Definitely stop by and check them out.

I just went to third man records it was one of the coolest experiences ever. Since the white stripes started jack has inspired me to work on music with more of a open mind. I started to unscrew my guitar bridge and made it make some weird alien sounds and tried to do something different such as I noticed jack was doing. Such as stomping on his guitar. I found the store plus factory is kinda like walking in to jacks mind and the view most artists don't have. when I could go up to a screen playing MC5 and put head phones on and enjoy some classic Detroit Rock and roll in Detroit it couldn't of got better. Till I look in the back and see an amazing record factory with some of the best looking factory uniforms you will ever see and the staff are all very helpful and all of them have a great attitude can't wait to go back.

A magical place. The atmosphere is great. Every detail is worked to delight the fan of old blues, garage rock and of course Jack White. The neighborhood is top. We want to buy everything. In short, you really have to go

This vinyl music store, performance center, record pressing plant, and all-around fun experience is well worth a visit. If you're into The Eclectic music of Jack White, and other Detroit and local musicians, is definitely your place. You can pick up recordings from rap, to folk, the country, too hard hitting rock.

terrific experience, and a good record collector could spend at least 2 hours here just listening, and digging through records.

To be in the same airspace that was designed, stocked and often visited by Jack White III is a truly magical feeling. Perhaps not everyone who visits is as big of a fan as I am, but everytime I go, I have my fingers crossed that he is in town to check up on things and I just happen to bump into him! They often have a clearance rack which is cool but there are so many artifacts from old White Stripes days and cool things to look at. To be honest, the staff wasn't that friendly but they reeeeally aren't what I go there for!

This place is amazing. If you're into Jack White's music or interested in vinyl and how it's made, this place is a playground. The staff are kind enough to help you with whatever you need, and you can even play through Jack's old Supro and Fender Twin. I'd love to see a live show on the big stage they have in the back, as it looks like a great spot to gig. If you're into Detroit and TMR artists, then you will love this place, since there is a very wide range of artists available. Everything is built with quality and care, and you can hold the passion in your hands when you get home and unwrap some of the highest quality vinyl made today. Definitely take a pit stop if you find yourself in Cass Corridor, or be like me and go way out of your way to indulge.

Great ,interesting, neat place. Staff was friendly. You can actually see them pressing records in the back. Lots of good records for sale. Great merchandise of Jack White. Enjoy popping in this store when we are in the area.

Extremely clean, reasonably priced, friendly staff and convenient parking. We were thinking we'd be paying $50 for a t-shirt but they range from $15-$30. All types of merchandise and printing press tours. We love Jack White and happy we stopped in. Thank you.

If you're in town and a music fan, you should definitely consider a visit to Third Man Records. It features a lot of TMR merchandise and a very cool interior design. At the back of the shop is the record factory, which can be toured at select times.

Not sure I need to really explain much; this is a must-visit destination for anyone who is a fan of Jack White / The White Stripes, live music, or vinyl. Super awesome staff. Compared to the Nashville location it's a bit more spacious. Sadly I didn't get to enjoy many of the cool things they do here due to COVID, but I hope to be back when things are back to normal.

I'm not even sure what to judge this place on, because I have no complaints! The staff was super friendly, and the place was generally cool to look at. They had cool things to see, like little puppets that would play pretty much any Jack White song you can imagine, and the audio was from records!
