Thermen Holiday Schiedam Review

Not satisfied with visitors. A too busy Sunday, too many people so the hot tubs were never free. Very disappointing massage that was no more than being petted with oil. When I mentioned this, the masseuse said "I have to do this 6 hours a day and I don't have more strength". All this indicated at the reception and they could not do anything with it except advise to fill in the contact form. I'll never come back here.

Far too busy with people who have no idea what a sauna is. Furthermore, the outdoor pools were lukewarm and you could sit in the inner pools like pegs in a barrel.

Thermen Holiday is a convenient distance from home for me. Love going there, because facilities are there to my liking. Friendly and welcoming staff. Castings are of good quality and the casting masters or mistresses know what they are doing. The culinary event is well organized. All this results in only nice people coming to visit the sauna; people who feel at home there. Moreover, there are regular offers that make a visit to the Thermes possible.

Wellness Giftcard. Someone wanted to give us a nice day as a present and bought us such a gift card. But no, they opt for easy profit at the expense of consumers. After 12 months, this card is completely worthless without having provided a service in return. Really completely hopeless, deeply sad and sad that you want to earn your money.

When thermal holiday started so many years ago, I worked as a pair of pants in the hospitality industry there. As a result, it always had a special place. Over the years it went regularly. Slowly you saw that he was poorly maintained. But despite the fact that the staff there are very friendly and you can't fault the food, we have decided not to go back. The lines are long upon arrival and it is often far too full. That it is next to the highway, I actually always found so. But the fact that more people are let in than there are actually fit on the beds is simply hopeless.

Delicious. Such a day is a mini vacation. And if you pay attention to the offers nice and cheap too.

There was a product on the tape that we had not eaten, we have accidentally settled. Then we came behind this accident and of course we asked if the money could be returned. This was not possible, it is a "credit for next time". We have now paid for a mistake by the staff. As far as we are concerned, we have bad service.

Worthless contact and service. Threw out my reservation and claim I did that myself. By phone also not reachable at all everything is fill in a contact form.

Great sauna where a lot can still be improved. The price quality ratio is somewhat skewed, there are plenty of saunas that offer a more relaxing day for the same price. I did really enjoy the Balinese massage.

After reading the latest very negative reviews, I am still curious what my experience would be.

Upon arrival on a Thursday nicely helped at the reception. I have to admit, it was very quiet despite or thanks to the nice weather.

The dressing room is not the newest and nicest but clean and showers are provided in the dressing room.

The sauna area inside is not very large but a great bath and a number of saunas. Floors not smooth and clean.

The outside area is well cared for. The baths have been tiled again and the garden is well cared for. Enough free beds in the garden. The infusion was hot and well executed.

The restaurant section was fine in my opinion. Sandwiches around 10 euros and of excellent quality. Drinks indeed on the pricey side. 3.40 for a Spa red. Anyway .... you can also simply fill your bottle of water. If you don't have the money you shouldn't go to the sauna either, I guess.

All in all a good experience. Staff friendly and helpful. I understand that if the bomb is full the experience can be different.

Relax here. Nice saunas, clean and friendly staff. Restaurant prices are a little on the high side.

Sauna area is reasonable, though the saunas are not well on temperature. Arrangement with dinner buffet is sadly bad. The food in a sports canteen is even better, certainly not worth the money and for that reason not recommended to visit again.

Booked lunch on the website offer. At the entrance I was told that this was not possible, reason unknown. You do not get money back but it is told that you can just order and then they settle it at the end. This often automatically means that you are more expensive and therefore have to pay extra as the prices are quite high. The restaurant itself does not look inviting and the staff were not particularly cheerful.

Furthermore, I personally think it is a very small wellness. Certainly the square offers little peace due to all the openness and sounds that come from everywhere. Also not everything in operation, but nothing to be found on the website. High entrance price that this wellness is definitely not worth, because it is small. The garden is nicely decorated and offers plenty of opportunities for sunbathing. Would be nice if the staff, which is hardly present or walking around, pay attention to keeping beds occupied with towels!

Normally I go to Elysium but this resort is closer and I had never been there before. It is very nice. It is a smaller resort than what I was used to but that does not bother. The staff inside is very friendly and professional. Especially during the pouring. The staff at the desk can sometimes be a little awkward, so you have to wait longer (perhaps new staff). However, it is sometimes a bit annoying that there are small groups of people who continue to make noise during pouring, even after the staff say something about it. I'm not used to that and I experienced as annoying. The choice is limited in view of the size but still all basics are present and for me that was more than enough. I will definitely return and I can warmly recommend these thermal baths.

I went last Wednesday. The feeling upon entering was like an overflowing pool at an all inclusive hotel. All beds occupied with people or towels (despite the ban on booking) I was stared at by many guests, very uncomfortable. It was not equally clean everywhere in the baths, that was unpleasant. Staff were not present or chatting with a guest (a familiar one given the amicable attitude). Inside it was boiling hot, creating an unpleasant stuffy atmosphere in the dressing room and rest areas. At half past nine in the evening there was already cleaned up outside, which made me feel like I wanted to leave. Reported the latter to the reception and then I received the response that there was a lot of work and that it was just like that. All in all, despite the free ticket via Elysium, it was a not very relaxing wellness day. Unfortunately in no way an invitation to come back again.

I think it is ridiculous that you have to discuss with a free card via the internet and then pay 4.95 pp. And drink 1 glass of orange 3.20. Also enjoyed the baths. Only outside a little cold water.

Excellent facilities, clean and beautiful. Staff are friendly and good food. In a few places there are some small points of attention on maintenance, which is not bad at the moment, but should not get worse.
The temperature of some saunas does not seem to match the temperature on the outside.
Thermen Holiday is still a must!

things have gotten worse since the new owner this year. All sneaky extra costs and flexibility is completely over. From now on, but to another sauna.

For us Never again a reservation at this thermal bath Holiday! No time is specified on the email for the massage treatment! When you are there you will hear that a masseur is gone and the other can only offer the treatment for half an hour, because we are 1 hour later than the scheduled time for the treatment! What time then ?! This time is never passed on via email or confirmation email! They also ask that we have to pay for the treatment! Hell yes!! Will be fine, please first change the confirmation text or send a clear time for treatment! We also had to pay a babysitter and rush for this evening! Then just book with Elysium!

Been for the first time today.
I found the outdoor pools a bit on the cold side, but otherwise nothing to comment!
All staff were very friendly and since the dinner buffet didn't have much choice, it was still good food and warm.

At the end of the day we received 2 entrance tickets and we will definitely be back !!

Nice place with many different Saunas and large garden. The restaurant is very good, you may just have to wait. But I've seen good improvement in that since the last time. We like to come here!

We have been here 2 times now and I will never return. This is mainly due to the incredibly bad food and poor restaurant staff. The first time we were at Thermen Holiday, we also wanted to have dinner in the evening. We took a seat at a table at 7:30 PM, it was very quiet in the restaurant, and it still took almost half an hour (!) Before the waitress came to our table to take the order. We ordered our drinks and food, and in advance we wanted baguette with herb butter. Actually after that moment it only got worse, when we were done with the bread the basket was not collected, the empty glasses remained, the waitress simply did not come to us anymore. About 45 minutes later I walked up to another waitress and asked where our food was, and if we could please order some more drinks. Only at 9:30 PM (!!!) we got our food, and it was also very dirty and of poor quality! It was lukewarm, spread on some sort of paper with sauce, beans and chips on top, as if the chef didn't feel like serving it side by side. Throughout the meal we sat eating extra bits of paper ...
When we lodged our complaint at the reception, we were given two entrance vouchers, with which 'we could come back again'. We had doubts since the first time was not exactly a success. Nevertheless, a few weeks ago we decided to give Thermen Holiday another chance. Unfortunately we were disappointed for a second time, and again (surprise) in the restaurant. The service was slightly better than the first time, but again the food was dramatic. My friend had ordered a dish with a 'slightly sweet spicy sauce', he took a bite and tears ran down his cheeks. Personally, I thought it was comical and dramatic at the same time. I wonder what kind of third-rate student they put in the kitchen to make this kind of food.
In short, if you go to Thermen Holiday, then rather take some sticky sandwiches with you in your bathrobe.

Saunas and the garden are lovely, it is a pity that there are no beauticians anymore and the lunch menu has not improved.

We enjoyed delicious. And indeed it is very busy at the reception with the change of day and evening. But they do their best to help everyone as quickly as possible.

We ate delicious in the restaurant. The service was fast and good. Within 5 minutes we had our drink and within 15 minutes our sate with fries and salad. Which was very tasty. Just make eye contact with the controls and they immediately understand that you would like to be helped.

In the sauna itself it is fairly busy. But there is always somewhere where you can sit or lie. And if you do not just choose another sauna. Enough offer. The hot tubs outside are unfortunately a bit small. But once a place is found it is wonderful to enjoy in the outdoors.

In short, we have not experienced all those negative reactions here. You'll see us again

Price quality is not in proportion

During our visit it was very busy. Actually too busy to relax, we felt like herring in a barrel. We only used a swimming pool ... then we were tired of it. The toilets were not clean and the same for the ladies' dressing room. All in all unfortunately a bad first experience, we will not be back.

Spa is good but the parking is terrible. The car park was full leaving nowhere to park. I parked on some grass like many others had to. At the end of the day I had a parking fine on my car. Every car had this. The parking warden must come every day because they know they will fine some cars. The management must know this happens so they should warn guests.
Please build a big enough car park for your business and warn your customers of the impact of your failing.

Wonderful day Out of this World !

Today (July 12) started soaking wet but ended nice and sunny. We had a great day at Thermen Holiday and did not notice the somewhat negative reviews of recent times. All saunas were at a good temperature, the food was tasty and the service was good. Maybe it is different in the weekends in terms of audience, but now everything went according to plan. It was pleasantly busy but not crowded either. We had easy access everywhere and did not have to wait long at check-in or at dinner. If you have to mention a point of attention, it concerns the prices in the catering industry. For example, you pay 3.75 for a normal glass (25 cl) of Heineken and a small bottle of Sourcy blue or red costs you 3.25. The counter also turns out nicely with coffee, because calling a normal cup of coffee a big and then charging 3.75 for it is nice ( .) To the price. Apart from this, it was another successful day in Schiedam.

It is a great wellness center with many types of saunas. However, I found the number of pools a bit limited and inside there was only one central hall where everything came out so it seemed very busy very quickly. The staff was very nice and the food tasty, but expensive of course.

The website with beautifully edited photos does not do justice to what you see in the sauna. The interior and restaurant are a bit of a dated place. The ceilings are dingy and the decor is a patched-up collection of restorations that don't really fit together.

You can take a picture of every miniature bath and pretend that it is a separate facility, but in practice it hardly escapes the level of a random tropical pool.

Outside it is better for each other. The saunas are sufficiently available and it is not too busy. The prices for the catering industry are indeed sky high ... more than 5 euros for a small juice is pricey. As experienced sauna goers it was not a wellness experience for us, the location on an industrial area along a highway does not really help. In this respect, the Veluwe source and the swallow farm have a better concept in this group.

Beautiful Thermen with many saunas. It can be very busy on swimwear days. If possible, plan a weekday.

On Saturday, July 29, I visited Thermen Holiday with my girlfriend. She put her arm around me in the indoor pool and immediately there were two employees like the chickens to alert us that physical contact is not allowed. This would have been completely understandable if all couples had been contacted by physical means in any way. However, this was NOT the case. At that time there were a total of 5 straight couples who were swimming intensely in each other's arms or were choking each other off. They were not addressed by anyone about this. But we have been called to this twice! The last time we were here exactly the same thing happened and even people around us felt that the staff reacted to us too fiercely, selectively and out of proportion. We experienced this as a selective, biased and discriminatory response from the staff that appeals to us as a gay couple, because we probably stand out more than your average white, straight cis couple! In short, Thermen Holiday must point out to its staff that it is consistent in addressing people and treating LGBTIs equally. It may be that the intention was not to come across like this, but if it happens twice and if we see for ourselves that only we are addressed as a gay couple and the rest is not addressed, then something is really wrong. We wanted to have said this. We do not have to go to a place where we do not feel safe and where we are treated differently from the rest!

On February 24 I visited Thermen Holiday after a long time.
We paid the full pound: almost 70 without treatment or anything and then you get the following:

1. The two outdoor hot tubs / Jacuzzis were cold. Really a big flaw. Just like the large outdoor hot tub and the Japanese outdoor pool.

All visitors sat inside the herbal temple and the only hot jacuzzi. Many complained but nothing was done about it.

To give you an idea: My shower at home is warmer than all bath facilities at Thermen Holiday. All baths were just really cold.
So if you come for a hot shower, you better stay home.

2. The service was mediocre. A cappuccino lasted 20 minutes and my apple pie was frozen. (two coffee and two cakes 17)

3. There was 1 hairdryer in the whole complex at the exit. I don't understand that. And it is actually a hand dryer for the toilet. Unfortunately.

4. Make sure you are not in dressing room 2. That is a kind of cleaning loft transformed into mixed (yes, male and female) dressing room.
Completely clumsy.
You have to carry your stuff back and forth to the other ladies or gentlemen's dressing room to change properly. Really absurd.

5. The dressing rooms were dirty, with dust everywhere on the floor.

And a personal opinion: I liked the aquarium sauna more than a few branches of lavender in the new sauna. Those branches could have been better in the tower sauna (very boring sauna).

I also enjoyed the saunas. The pouring ritual in the banja was nice.
But on the whole, it was nothing short of disappointing.

We had a wonderful day! Fine saunas and the steam bath is great. It's clean, the showers are lovely, friendly employees and great food. Definitely recommended!

Service was poor in the restaurant. We had an arrogant server. We ordered the worst tasting pasta and wanted to return it. They refused. We even wanted to take it back home and make it taste better and they refused as well. All in all the worst experience and worst pasta.

Came here for my wife's birthday. It looks way better on the pictures, that it did when we arrived. It looked dirty, food was bad and the massage was nothing special. Overall a big disappointment.

Good and hygienic. Difficult to find if you've never been there before. Furthermore, very good and also a clearly visible control of water and saunas
