We have done business with Theratek for quite a while and have not had any problems. Summer and her team are on the ball and a pleasure to do business with. From a clinic standpoint, ordering from them is hassle free and efficient.
I ordered a simple thumb/write brace for $6. The shipping, handling and tax brought the order to $18.38. I was immediately turned off by the 1996 feel of their website. It has one of those "this is a fake store front" feels to it. I would never have placed an order here, but my therapist specifically recommended a product.
1 week later I received the order. The brace is weird. It smells funny. Feels funny. And it came without a single piece of paper. No instructions, no recommendations, nothing. You'd think that brace would be easy to figure out. NOPE, not this one. you can literally fit it over your thumb a variety of ways. And any way I tried it didn't quite feel right. It always felt like it was about to fall off. This is supposed to immobilize my thumb, but it does not. It's just a nuisance.
Then 1 week later TheraTek attempted to send me another wrist brace. I wasn't at home and the package was returned to TheraTek, I'm glad I did't have to deal with the second shipment. TheraTek called me on the phone trying to set up delivery and I had to explain to them that I had already received my product and didn't need another one.
They apologized and I figured that would be it.
But it wasn't... 2 weeks later I get a call from TheraTek telling me that they need my credit card and billing info again as they lost it the first time. WHAT? So now I have to go verify that I was never charged, verify the requestor is legit, and be billed for something I received 1 month ago, hated, and threw away. For a $6 item. Seriously?
This location is not a normal retail outlet, but a warehouse with a sales option; it is recommended to call ahead and inquire about the specific equipment type you're looking for, and give them a chance to pull the individual options forward.
That said, they're more than happy to do so, and they're fast and efficient. They close entirely for lunch, but open promptly. As I walked up, there was a fellow leaving who shared his experience and had also had fast, efficient (his words) service for exactly the product he was looking for.
I was presented with three options, and the most expensive option was still less expensive than my physical therapist had given me reason to anticipate. I actually spent more time playing gentle fetch with the (exceptionally well-behaved) shop dog than I did involved in the consumer transaction.
