What a great experience. It's hard to complain when they do so much for FREE! they had all sorts of fun stuff for kids including free Chick-fil-A. Be sure to bring lots of bug spray though. The movie won't start until dark so you may want to think about that for your little ones if they can't handle staying up that late. All in all a great time.

We had the best time! Was kind of disappointed that everyone brought camp chairs when the website said to bring blankets or LOW beach chairs. Luckily we had chairs in the car so my little one could see the show. Otherwise, we had an amazing time! The preshow activities were a fun bonus! Can't wait for next season!

It's been 30 years since I've been to the Theatre in the Park. I forgot how magical it is to see such a great performance under the stars so close to home! It's so affordable and convenient, why don't we do this more often?

Ok if you haven't found this great venue for something fun this summer, you have to check out theatre in the park!

My wife and I go every year and have never been disappointed. We took a group from our church last year and Notre it's a regularly scheduled event.

Great place for a unique date night too.

We have seen almost every production this summer. Weather has been great (for the most part) and the productions have been top notch especially for a local theater group to put on this size of an event. You can't beat the ticket prices, we bring a picnic, comfy chairs, relax & enjoy the show.

I'm biased because I've been in a show here. But, void of any production value the atmosphere is awesome. A wide variety of seating options, beautiful natural space, and absolutely amazing snack/food options. For less than $10 a head who could complain.
Pro-tip: if you are going to use a blanket and sit down front get there almost as soon as the gates open, and bring a tarp incase it gets damp.

It is a very large amphitheater, possibly the largest in the country. The hill is perfect for viewing the stage from every spot. The sound system and lighting are very good. The bathrooms have a lot of stalls, no waiting around. And the concession building had snacks and fresh popcorn. The ticket booth did not have much of a wait and it was fine to buy your tickets on arrival. You do need to take your own lawn chair or blanket.
I really enjoyed "The Music Man" musical play here which was well done with all of the songs from the movie plus plenty of dances with intricate choreography.

SM Theater in the Park is the best family entertainment in Johnson County. The shows and talent are great, affordable prices for families to get out. Love that you are able to bring your own chairs, food and drinks. Have a picnic and enjoy the night!

Very family friendly environment with a very large splash of culture. The actors/artistes are phenomenal and are always well directed. The seating area is an elevated grass hill; make sure you arrive early to guarantee a good view along with a few lawn chairs and blankets. You're allowed to bring your own food/drink or you can enjoy their concessions stands.

Shows are always great! Wednesday night shows are awesome, much less crowded and crazy. Plenty of room and chance to choose a good spot. A fun outing for the whole family, bring a picnic or buy food there.
