Great day out for the family lots of scares and thrills.

Great visit, good shows definitely worth a visit. Kids might find it slightly scary.

Scary and creepy, but wouldn't go again. Shorter than we thought and photos at end really expensive. Overall not too bad.

So thrilling and scary! Cast involves all members of the group, super interactive. Prepare yourself!

Sadly they victimised by partner, four times picking on her to be the Guinea Pig, not good for someone with anxiety.
To be honest apart from my partners experience it was very amateur and not worth the money spent.

Pretty cool experience.. Its more a show than a tour/history lesson.
I forgot to listen and just got carried away with it all..

Absolutely awesome, great experience filled with lots of jump moments, go now it's worth every penny. Brilliant actors make for a brilliant experience, be ready for crowd participation.

My wife and i had a great time, very fun and scary! Not recommended for younger children though, one was so scared she had to be removed during one of the performances

This was part of a day visit to York which included a visit to the Minster. I hate posting disparaging reviews, as I think this would be well worth a visit during any normal time, but wearing a face mask & having the actors wear them, ruined the experience for me personally.
Again I d recommend a visit when or if this pandemic ends.

Awesome the actors are amazing !!!! And some of the ideas and rooms you learn so much while having the time of your life !!! A place you must vist worth your money !!

It was ok . I actually preferred it the old way where you walked round at your leisure and there was more to see .Although the actors were good . Think photos are too expensive . Husband & grandaughter enjoyed it, so ok I suppose .

Love this place! What a fun day out. Not suitable for young kids though, however it is more funny than scary.

We had a lot of fun, but it could be a bit scary. There were some great rooms that do not exist in other dungeons.

I loved it i was jumpin with fright my husband hated it

I bought this to surprise the wife as I knew she won t go if I told her earlier,
but we both really enjoyed the story in each section, and the actors get involved with the audience which makes it more fun

Tour is about 75 80 mins, you have photos taken at first which you can buy at the end which is considerably high priced

If you like to be insulted and picked on from the staff please go here . The so called workers are very over the top it's horrific .almost bullying. I wouldn't recommend york dungeon to anyone in the world. Please avoid this place go anywhere but here

Great place never been its fun not what you may expect

A bit of a let down for me. I thought it was going to be a bit more gruesome.

Absolutely fabulous attraction. The character reenactments were brilliant and really brought the whole experience to life.

Well worth a visit, all the smells of a bigone time.

Really fun makes you jump out of your skin a few times

It's a good experience but it's worse than Ediburg dungeon. In my opinion lack some attractions. Any parts of the route are very long and bored but the actors performance are amazing.

Brilliant actors,, genuinly interesting and fun. Be prepared for a wait tho.

Go here if you're in York. You WONT be disappointed

It was really fun, probably one of the best days out I've had, it was scary but mostly it was really funny, the actors were all great and I laughed throughout the whole experience

making a big joke and a gimmick out of the suffering of the people who lived though difficult times in yorks history ,shows no respect

Great fun.like the fact of a mystery as you not allowed to bring camera or take pictures) so you do not know what to expect . Actors doing they part well. Special effects are up to date ish and gives you the goose bumps all over. If you heat fainted or pregnant or have a bad back don't go) overall I enjoyed a lot

Myself and daughter has been to a few of these dungeon experiences before (some more than once!) and she really enjoys them - particularly when I get chosen as one of the volunteers to play out a role! Very interactive with the live actors and certain to make you "jump" on occasion, but nothing too blood curdling. Very entertaining and nice that York have incorporated locally appropriate characters such as the Vikings and Dick Turpin :-)

Now this place is defiantly great for the kids age 9 on wards i would say due to the stories they tell and the darkness and the quality actors who work there

Lots of interactive exhibits with guides/actors putting on a good show.

Not as good as the Edinburgh Dungeon, no rides, and the setup was very cramped. Also, we had a horrendous group (hens?) in with us who were constantly shouting, cat calling, and being disruptive. Even the actors were fed up with it. Why they were let in in the first place is anyone guess. Completely ruined the experience for everybody. Some people noted that they'd probably had too much to drink (at 12:30?) but it seemed most likely that there were other substances involved. This was clearly obvious for all to see, and that they were allowed entry was simply appalling.
The actors were very good and its worth a trip if in York, but if you get the chance, do Edinburgh instead...

I was bored out of my brains very unsuitable for the elderly, young or pregnant people, you just get shoved from one room to the next to be insulted!

Honestly worth the money if youre kids are into horrible histories. Younger children (under 5) might find it a bit daunting. The guides/actors do an amazing job and really involve you in the experience

Just did not feel like enough, to be honest and not enough interaction... I understand that it is all Covid and stuff but just did not feel like good value for money

Very entertaining.....staff were absolutely brilliant, very witty, very funny. I would definitely recommend this well worth the money.... book online to save money though.
