Memorable. Top of the dining spectrum. Incredible food paired with impeccable service - it doesn't get much better than this. Of our three days in Porto, this was by far, the best evening, hands down! Cost wise, on the high end but if you are visiting Porto and want one GOOD dining experience, this is it!!!!! I

disappointing experience at many levels ... the vi...

disappointing experience at many levels ... the view of the port, between huge cedars that prevent seeing and cranes that also disfigure the view, the disappointments began. dinner was just awful .... greeted by a very young maid and friendly but clearly inexperienced, we did not reserve, while being guests, had to go ask the boss room if we could be served (first time it happened in a 5 star hotel). We waited more than 10 minutes for the menu to be delivered to us by the head chef, who neither introduced himself nor apologized for the delay .... We waited 25 minutes for the cover charge, which was nothing but pre-frozen bread, nor warm vine and breadsticks, olives and butter ... nothing to justify the wait. we ordered lobster salad which was a bowl of lettuce leaves with slices of lobster and mango and no seasoning ... then we ordered rooster fish cataplana where the fish was overcooked, the completely tasteless or clear sauce and the crusty potatoes. my plate was full of food and the second cataplana was not initiated (served us both the same cataplana getting the other to serve). warn you to work that gave knowledge to the head room, which, again, not even approached the table ... the arrogance of the Lord has no end ... only delivery menus and bills to hotel guests. at the end we paid 190 for a dinner we did not eat (offered in the bill a mixed cheese platter that my husband asked) ... is a place not to essentially repeat because I felt that here the customers do not matter much .... I was in fantastic locations in northern Portugal at very affordable prices and kitchens with Michelin star ... nothing justifies the price in both the stay as the meal

Loved the facilities. The view is anything phenomenal.
I went with the husband and son to spend our night and Christmas day. It was pleasant. My husband does not like seafood and at dinner nothing ate but promptly the chef arranged a solution and he was quite pleased.
I just do not give 5 * because I found breakfast too weak for a hotel of that category and employees with little experience.
But I will return without debt.

The very best thing about The Yeatman is the view ...

The very best thing about The Yeatman is the view you get of Porto across the from your room and terrace -- I think every room has one. Otherwise, the hotel does not live up to what I expected and is only above average in its restaurant and service. The rooms are a nice size, but aren't all that "traveler friendly" -- e.g., no drawers to store your clothes. I thought the Michelin starred restaurant was very disappointing and chose to eat in local restaurants riverside for Portuguese cuisine. The walk from my room to the elevators was the length of 3 football fields. The gardens are lovely and the pool very nice, but the gym was disappointing. I didn't take advantage of the spa facilities. The staff was friendly, but clearly a training staff, both very young and inexperienced.

The hotel is excellent, the food and the service very good. The view of Porto, on the other side of the river Douro, is something unforgettable. The only downside to the hotel is that it is far from everything. To leave the hotel, only by car or taxi. But it is the price to pay for the view one has.

I do not think there will be much more to add in favor of this space! I do the review in the sense of renting event space, because that was the occasion. It is possible to rent the terrace with this wonderful view for an after-work. The food was good, but the snacks and the frequency with which they brought us tonic port convinced me I just felt sorry for a vintage too cold (for my taste). Otherwise, it's top
