Dr's are experienced and great with handling urgent concerns, however I wait an average of 1hr every time I come in for a checkup, not including time spent in the actual appt. Wait times are a bit ridiculous! There is no communication between the front desk and waiting room unless you speak up. I'm considering showing up late for my next appt as it didn't seem to effect the line up. Annoyed!!

I couldn't be more disappointed to have to write this review. I've gone to this practice for several years for routine annuals and went through my first pregnancy and labor and delivery here as well. I had a few wonderful doctors but unfortunately my bad experience largely outweighs the good. My post-partum care was largely insufficient and I was not followed up on by the doctors even after a traumatic post-birth experience. There was very little care shown. After giving birth, it was recommended to me by several people to move to the Midwives of Northwestern. When I asked for my medical records and files to be transferred I was charged $50 to do so. It took three weeks to get a call back about this issue and in the end, the owner Dr. Kamel did not want to refund the money for the medical records transfer. The worst part is that she didn't call to ask about the situation or to learn more about what happened or how the practice could improve for women in the future. This is after spending thousands with her practice over the years.

I've already been to the Midwives Group of Northwestern and have had a wonderful experience - even the office staff and nurses seem happier and are more friendly.

I read the poor reviews about the Women's Group of Northwestern before joining but I ignored it, as the practice had been recommended to me by several friends. Please use caution when working with this group-I've reread many other people's reviews and wish I would've made the switch sooner.

It s so insensitive, unfair and not well thought how they won t allow my husband and father of my son to go with me to the appointments and ultrasounds because of covid . We live together, co-created the baby and have the same rights to be there and of course, same possibilities to have the virus. He wants to be there, I want him to be there and my baby needs him to be there. This Covid illogic logic has to end soon.

The office is nice, and the staff is decent, but they seem to be incapable of ever answering the phone. I've called close to a dozen times for various appointments and have literally had to leave a voicemail every time and then wait for them to call me back usually around 24hrs later to set an appt. When it comes to an OB, I'd much prefer accessibility for mine and my baby's health.

I've been a patient here for about a year now and it seems to me that they have improved phenomenally since the reviews they were getting a few years ago. The doctors I have see have been very helpful and the receptionists always sweet and accommodating. The only not-so-great experience I've had was with an aloof nurse who never smiled, but I can forgive that. The facilities are beautiful and always clean.

Been a patient for almost 20 years, and now can never get a call back. Super frustrated that I may have to look for a new practice. Dr. Lui is great and helped me with 5 pregnancies so this is depressing.

My experience with the ultrasound techs, the nurse...

My experience with the ultrasound techs, the nurse that drew my blood, the doctor and surgeon from this practice has been fine. Not a thing to complain about.

The front desk staff on the other hand. Wow.

On my second appointment, they argued with me that it was my first and wanted me to complete the same intake forms that I d completed just days before. I thought it was a small mishap. On my THIRD appointment (all within 2 weeks time), they DID IT AGAIN. This time insisting I was there for my first ultrasound (Nope), and pushing on me a bag of new mom pamphlets - I was there for my third appointment, 4 if you could bloodwork only, and specifically to verify a miscarriage. All of this should have been in my appointment history, right? But again, the front desk was INSISTENT that I was wrong and it was my first appointment and ultrasound. No. Also, why are you arguing with me about it? Of course I m right?

I had surgery with this practice, and was told in the postop room to call the next day and schedule a followup in 2 weeks, with my OBGYN. Again, the scheduler/front desk argued that I needed to followup with the surgeon. I finally requested she get someone else involved because I was tired of arguing with these people and, alas, the followup was to be with my regular doc. Not the surgeon. Just as I was told, by the surgeon, the day before. But again, thanks for arguing with me.

I m back for that followup and, you can t make this level of ineptitude up, the front desk asks me to verify my information (expect a lot to change in 12 days?) and hands me paperwork for a woman that is 10 years older than I, not my race, and most importantly not my name. Sorry Kendal Davis, I ve now seen your social security number, home address, place of employment, etc. Because these people are very bad at their jobs.

This was always going to be an unpleasant experience, due to the nature of the experience. But dealing with the front desk staff made it significantly worse. Patients beware. The medical staff may be helpful/knowledgeable/etc., but if the front desk can t get your visit info correct and hands your ssn# out to other patients, is it worth the risk? There are a lot of other practices.

This practice is fantastic, and Dr. Adams is just amazing. I was referred by a friend about two years ago when I found out that I was pregnant for the first time. I was spotting and needed to be seen right away. They got me in to see Dr. Adams that same day, and she was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. Unfortunately, my husband and I lost that baby (and suffered two additional miscarriages), and Dr. Adams was right there with us through it all. She delivered our son five months ago, and she made sure that our very challenging pregnancy was as smooth a process as possible. She is just outstanding. I just took another positive pregnancy test (yikes), and went RUNNING to this practice. Drs. Sheran and Murthy and their staff are wonderful as well. I wouldn t recommend any other team in the city. Just outstanding.

The OB/GYN doctors here are fantastic! They answer your questions completely and help make the best decisions for you and your baby. The front desk staff aren't always the best, but depending on who you get they can be helpful and friendly. Sometimes there is a long wait, but if you show up ON TIME usually they get you right in. When it finally came time for me to deliver my baby Dr. Adams was absolutely amazing, she made the entire delivery perfect!!! I will never forget how helpful and kind she was. I HIGHLY recommend using this practice!

I've been with this group for 9 years and am now going through a pregnancy with them. The Drs have been kind and clear about directions, but never patronizing. The office staff has made coordination of benefits a breeze.

This place is perfect for my husband and me. It's convenient to where we work (critical given how many appointments you have to have), and the three doctors and one nurse practitioner I've seen have all been excellent - answered my questions completely, were straightforward, honest, helpful and clearly experts. Keep in mind it's a shared practice, so they want you to see multiple doctors - this makes scheduling appointments easier but isn't for everyone because some folks might want a stronger bond with a single doctor. I'm not a "warm and fuzzy" type, and the transition between doctors has been seamless (and they have all been OUTSTANDING to work with), so I don't have an issue with not seeing the same person every time.

Office experience: Yes the lines can be long and the waits can be long, but sometimes that's due to patient issues (ie - doctors getting called away). I've arrived 20 minutes early and left before my appointment start time. I've also arrived 20 minutes early and had to wait in a room for 10 minutes past my appointment time - it's varied day-by-day like with any doctor's office. I will say that the one time I really was upset and worried, they absolutely fit me into their schedule and managed to give me an ultrasound to show me everything was ok. People probably had delays because of my peace of mind, so I tend to think that might be why I'm waiting.

Billing: Having a kid is expensive. No, I do not love that you have to pay so much up front (there's an estimated delivery fee based on your insurance). I also do not love the $75 cancellation fee that is mentioned in other reviews. But, they have someone who is available to talk you through payment options, how to use your insurance, how to deal with it if insurance changes, what other costs to be aware of (cord blood banking, circumcision, for example), etc. So, if you take advantage of this resource at least you can do some financial planning basically from Day 1.

The portal: Use it. The nurses will get back to you quickly via the portal or by phone (depending on your question). And I've never felt judged in their response. Yes, their phone lines are often busy, but no busier than any other reputable city doctor's office I've experienced. And they send you text and email reminders well in advance (2-3 days), so if you do need to cancel or reschedule you'll be able to do it before that 24-hour cancellation fee kicks in.

Dr. Murphy has great bedside manner. I would definitely continue to see her.

Additionally, I had a billing mix-up, but spoke to Dr. Murphy during my appointment about my experience and she said that she would speak to her office manager about removing the charge. The office manager reached out to me and the issue has been resolved.

I am sad to be writing this review as I have been a patient of Dr. Kamel for over 30 years. She delivered all 3 of my children. I have kept up with my annual gynecology exams, mammograms etc . I carried the best BCBS insurance coverage possible and paid all my bills. However, now that I just turned 65 and have Medicare and supplemental insurance , all that has changed. I called to make my annual appointment and was informed that the women s group will not accept my Medicare . I couldn t believe it! They said they would give me 15% off my bill , meaning I would have to pay cash for the balance of the bill.

I believe Dr. Kamel and her group dropped me because of the lower reimbursement they would likely receive from Medicare. This action is wrong and sends the message that the almighty dollar rules all decisions in caring for their patients.

I selected Dr. Kamel s women s group as my physician group and expected to have annual checkups well into my senior years. But with this group , continual patient care for seniors stops when you go on Medicare. The office receptionist told me they could recommend a Gynecologist that accepts Medicare, but as I explained to her; that doesn t solve the problem they are creating for us ...their patients. I now am left to vet a new OB/ GYN group (regardless of her recommendation ). I will need to start all over with a new physician, and lose the continuity of care that I expected when I chose this group. I also have to pay cash to transfer my medical records.

Not accepting Medicare insurance from life-time patients is simply not a business practice that I expected from this seemingly altruistic group of women practitioners. I hope this review alerts other women seeking a new OB/ GYN physician to consider this matter. Do your research and select a physician or medical group that will accept not only your current insurance, but the one you will have in your senior years.

Doctor's are great. As the others have mentioned, the staff not so much. I arrived for my appointment only for the assistant to look at me as if I were disturbing her. Barely a greeting and then I waited over 40 mins to be called. Terrible customer service on the part of the staff. Need to fire and rehire!

1) Most Doctor not much experience. They always say it's normal. It's ok. They didn't answer our question.

2)Horrible experience. I accompany with my wife here some times. Most time we need waiting 1 hour in front.

3) They measure our baby weight is not close real weight 7-8lb vs 9.5. I can't say anymore

Most unprofessional receptionist I've ever experienced. They were rude and even hung up on me. I called four times and spent a total of 25 mintues on hold trying to make an appointment. I was going to be a new patient too - not anymore. They clearly need to hire additional front end staff. The service was embarrassing.

Since I move to new cities often, I've seen my share of GYN Doctors. I saw Dr. Sheran, and let me just say, she was like a breath of fresh air! She has the absolute best bedside manner, super easy to talk to, very knowledgeable... Hands down probably my best experience with a GYN Dr. that I've ever had. The facility is really clean, really nice, and the staff are so welcoming! I'm thrilled I've found a new home with The Women's Group of Northwestern!

I have been debating if I should write a review- h...

I have been debating if I should write a review- however, I just ran into my fifth billing issue and I am really disappointed and confused. I have great health insurance, however, the way that the office bills/ depending on the doctor/technician I saw- I end up paying two to three the amount I was expecting. I saw one physician a few months ago and she ordered an ultra sound. I was billed twice because the technician who performed my ultra sound was technically NOT the providing physicians technician (tongue twister). I was billed for two different visits with two different doctors even though it was one appointment and I only saw one physician. If I had seen Dr. Adams technician, I would have only been billed once. I spoke with my insurance and technically they are allowed to do that, but it seems inappropriate to not verify consent from the patient. Additionally, I was waiting outside of the ultra sound room and I heard several employees in violation of HIPPA and mocking the issue that I presented. I was sent home with no diagnosis. One month later, I went back and saw Dr. Sheran who I had previously seen. She is the only reason why I am even contemplating returning to this practice. I know my review isn't 3 stars worthy, but I don't want this to be a poor reflection of her. I really hate leaving such a negative review, but the reoccurring issues are unacceptable. The negligence I received when it came to billing and care is really disappointing.

Just moved to Chicago from LA. Needed a gynecologist ASAP. My doctor from LA referred me to this group. Amazing experience from top to bottom! no pun intended. The receptionists were very accommodating and got me in to see Dr Sheran. The billing office verified my insurance and let me know my out of pocket responsibilities. Very efficient! I like that. When I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile by a lovely reception and did not wait too long. The nurse that took my history had a great personality and gave me things to read about my condition before the doctor arrived. Dr. Sheran was professional, poised and very kind. I ended up needing to have surgery at Northwestern and that too was a great experience. I felt like I was taken care of by all like a Princess. The other doctors in the group who saw me in the hospital were all very well informed and considerate. I am recommending this practice to all my baby boomer friends. They also understand what it is like to be Menopausal!

I never write reviews but this was a particularly bad experience.

We tried to get just a call back to schedule an appointment and that took two weeks.

We got a hold of someone to schedule an appointment and that took 1 week.

At the end of that we couldn't get an appointment because (we were told) the medical records that were faxed over three times, from our initial OB, were incomplete.

Please don't waste your time with this office.

I've been attending their practice for over 7 year...

I've been attending their practice for over 7 years and they delivered my two healthy boys. I am planning on continuing with them in my third pregnancy and delivery, and will be doing all office visits at the Northbrook location. I have referred friends to this group, to specific physicians whose personalities seem fitting for them. One friend recently delivered without pain medication and described her OB as 'thinking out of the box' as far as labor pain-management.

Some of the seasoned OB's are all business, but for my first son's somewhat traumic delivery - I couldn't have asked for anything better. To be frank, the OB's meticulous attention to detail post-birth made for a substantially better recovery than expected. I was also thrilled that pain-meds were made available to me minutes before delivery. This may be more characteristic of Prentice hospital than the practice.

Some of the comments about the Women's Group depict them as rude, I can understand those comments. They simply do not make time in appointments for much small talk, and for a busy mom, I love that. I've had more personal time with the RN at the Northbrook office and the OB that delivered my second son. I had already gone through the rotation of meeting all the OB's with my first son, so with my second pregnancy I just requested appointments with the same doctor. She was so attentive to me that she insisted on staying past her shift - postponing departure for a vacation - to be the doctor to take me through delivery.

I love this group.

I ve called this practice at least 10 times and only gotten someone to answer once. I made a new patient appointment with Dr. Kamel for a Monday in November. That took about 6 calls. I left a message and never heard back, but I was able to finally get someone on the phone. I decided to go with a different OBGYN (someone whose staff actually answers the phone). I tried to cancel my appointment on the Thursday before my appointment. This was a full four days in advance, which is well within the time frame of their cancellation policy. I decided to leave a message after my third call. I tried again on Friday just in case no one is checking the messages. No answer. Fast forward a few weeks, and I get a no show letter from them. Fast forward a few more weeks, and I get an email saying that I have a $75 statement for my missed appointment. There is no way in hell I m paying that. I did everything in my power to cancel my appointment, and now I have to spend time trying to get someone on the phone to argue over this bill. What a nightmare. Dr. Kamel came highly recommended. I can t believe the doctors at this practice aren t fixing this problem. I hope someday they have to get ahold of their own office. Maybe then it will change?

This place is terrible. From the billing department to the OBGYNs in the office, everyone is absolutely horrific to deal with. I've had bills sent to collections that were never sent to my address (that they had on file). I've had doctors with terrible bedside manner and a clear lack of interest in or knowledge of their patient's history. I've had to ask repeatedly for a monthly prescription request to be sent to a pharmacy, each time they tell me it is done it is not. This office is an embarrassment to the Northwestern name.

I have been having a horrible experience so far. The doctors are knowledgeable, but several times, I have had an "emergency" (1st pregnancy, so I got scared) and no one ever calls me back! it's kind of ridiculous. Also, the admin staff is awful, impersonal and unprofessional.

As per my experience, Doctors, assistants and receptionists are all great. However, big minus to scheduling appointments as they never start on time :( Especially for working professionals like me, who has limited time from work to go see a Doctor, it s extremely hard to provide an approximate time for how long I will be away. I have been seeing Dr. Kamel for the third time for my annual check up and I always have to wait for about 30-40 mins after coming 15 mins earlier for my appointment, so more that 45 mins late after my appointment time. I love Dr Kamel, but poor scheduling brings a lot of frustration.

I am a new patient, had my first appointment with them today and when arrive i was told i wasn t schedule. They made me check on the 9th floor to reassure my appointment wasn t upstairs and after came back to the 6th floor. Not only did the manager took 40 minutes to come and speak to me while they had me wait in the hallway about the situation but had such a bad attitude, and i was continuously told see if they can squeeze me in and will take another 15mnts to come back just to give me the same information that it wasn t them whom confirmed my appointment but that they had all my information in their system. I left VERY upset for waiting for an hour and a half just to be treated disrespectfully while he hold my information they have in their system in his hand.

Been a patient at this practice since the beginning of my pregnancy. Scheduling has been very easy since there are many doctors you can see. I ve seen maybe 4 different doctors and liked them all. Dr. Jordan Sheran is great as is Dr. Murty and Dr. Levin.

Dr. Murthy was rude, dismissive, and condescending. She claimed she would schedule a surgery and then never did, didn't even attempt to reach out at all. Don't go here, it will be a waste of your time.

NOTE I am editting my review. This was originally a one star and now a 4 star. I cannot in good conscience give it a 5 start because of how bad scheduling that first appointment was. The first half is about my initial experience second is about my experience since then.

===========================================================This is not about the doctor about about the appointment process.

Getting an appointment has been a nightmare. Four members of my family have tested positive for one of the aggressive breast cancer genes. I had an appointment to meet with a doctor to get started on the bloodwork. I had four different staff members call me they canceled because the doctor had to attend a lecture, they let me know four days in advance after I had waited a month to see the doctor. When they went to reschedule they only offered me times I could not make and even though I said that I have a difficult work schedule that I can only make it in the mornings they insisted I come in on an afternoon so I worked on getting that time off from work but unfortunately issues with one of the aforementioned relatives took precedent. I have called back several times to reschedule and each time they act as if my insurance is not accepted there and they know nothing about my insurance. I go through the same issue every time I try to make an appointment they always want me to re-enter in my insurance information even though, i have given it to them multiple times, even though my coworkers also go to this location and even though I have submitted the insurance information to them., and it is on my patient portal.

===========================================================
Since that initial issue the staff has been over the moon helpful. Dr. Andrea was a dream. She was so polite and so helpful and answered all of my questions she understood my concerns and validated them and she followed up on everything. cannot say enough good things about her.

The office staff have been so polite and accommodating. i have never once had any concerns they have taken care of all my tests and paperwork, the coordinated my billing information beautifully i just show up and everything is done.

I have been going to this practice for over 7 year...

I have been going to this practice for over 7 years for regular women's visits, with my first pregnancy (miscarriage), and now my nearly full term second pregnancy. I understand some people may have had less than optimal experience with the front desk staff but I have never had any issues and have found them to be pleasant and sufficient. I have however experienced long wait times, but show me a doctor that doesn't run behind... and when it is you that needs urgent attention, I am sure you will appreciate their willingness to bump the schedule to accommodate that last minute ultrasound or emergency appointment. I have found all the doctors to have a great depth of knowledge and a range of personalities. Some are more business than others but I appreciate that. I appreciate their focus on the best care for the patient and feel very confident in their hands. I have another friend who is an OBGYN at Northwestern who recently completed her residency. She worked with all of the doctors in this practice and had nothing to say but STELLAR things about each of them in terms of their practice, medical knowledge, surgical abilities, and their reputations. In her opinion, they are the cadalliac of the OBGYN practice and they are highly respected by Northwestern and their colleagues. I would highly encourage people to look beyond the customer service and focus more on the medical care quality and knowledge that this practice offers. I find it to be as comforting as a good bed side manner.

I have been a patient for about 18 years. Dr. Levitt is my primary doctor and she is very knowledgeable, kind and I feel very confident with her as my doctor. I recommend the practice to my friends and I have always had a pleasant experience. When I have seen other physicians or Nurse Practitioners my experience has always been top notch. Its a busy practice for a reason, they are top notch.

The doctor I saw was fine. But keep reading if you don't want to pay doctors even more money for absolute nothing.

I called on the day of to cancel an appointment and was not informed by the person on the phone that they have a $75 24 hour cancellation fee. Had I been told this I would have gone in for the appointment instead of rescheduling. What s worse is that upon calling the office, they would not waive the fee even though I was a 1st time patient and this was my 1st time offence. Lastly, billing told me they would review and call me back if I did indeed need to pay the fee, but instead they sent this to a collections agency and never called me. Beware of this business; it s very sketchy.

These are some of the most awesome OB doctors on the planet! If you're looking for "warm and fuzzy", maybe not here. The WGON doctors are proactive, yet conservative. They listen to your concerns, and actively involve you in decisions about your care.

I have been a patient at this practice for over 10 years, but have grown very dissatisfied mainly due to the administration of the practice. For example, I have been trying to schedule an important appointment with my doctor for close to a week now. I have left several messages and spent a lot of time on hold, but no one will answer or get back to me. Also, the patient portal is useless. You can pay bills, but not see the bills. You can request an appointment, but not actually schedule one. And you can't see all of your test results. I have also experienced questionable billing practices.

I am now on Medicare. Went to my appointment and hand them my card also with my bc/bs card. She tells me they do not accept medicare/medicaid. I asked how could they not accept it since Northwestern does. She told me they are a private practice not part of Northwestern Medicine although the drs do go there. I never knew this. With there title I always assumed they were part of the hospital. Well you know what they say about assuming! She then told me they do accept the bc/bs because I told her I was gonna call my bc/bs to see if they were in my network. She assured me that she gets patients with the federal bc/bs and they are in network. Again my fault for assuming. It's in the process of hopefully getting resolved. I just want people to know that they are a PRIVATE practise. Not directly part of Northwestern Medicine. This is my fault. I usually do my homework. Being newly retired, I have a lot to learn.
