I dropped an injured fledgling off, a "Morning Dove". A woman sitting out front took the little birdie from my grasp and said not to worry. She also said that they're a non for profit organization and have saved many birds. Needless to say that i was totally put to ease and happy that the little birdie was in good hands. I was then told to fill out some short forms and was given a reference number to get period updates on its progress. What a good service and continue doing what you do!

Superb and unique facility. Should be funded by city and establish at least one in each borough. Incredible, caring, mostly volunteer staff, excellent small gift shop with books & bird-themed items. Blessings on Founder Rita M. and all that she & staff does to save our avian friends. Do consider donating/volunteering. Susan Addelston

I have taken three or four injured and one fledgling that was in danger to The Wild Bird Fund. They are very good at what they do. If you find an injured bird, bring it there and buy a t-shirt or make a donation.

Yesterday I found a bird on the street and someone told me to take him here. They also paid for my Uber to the wild bird fund.. my experience was amazing the lady gave me a tour of the place and explained to me what they do there and even asked if I would like to volunteer.... She gave me this card and told me to call them in five days to check up on the bird.... I would definitely encourage people to donate or to sign up for the volunteer program that they have... This place is absolutely amazing.... I felt very warm and welcomed from the time I walked in until I left me thanked me servral times for bringing the bird in.. wild bird fund you guys rock..

A few days ago I brought a wounded woodcock to their rehabilitation centre on Columbus Avenue. Over there I met a wonderful and passionate group of people. Moreover, they know how to treat wounded and injured wild birds, including some small mammals and reptiles.
They realy need our donations in order to continue with they noble work.
Feel free to support their work, almost all of them work in the Wild Bird Fund on voluntary base.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY MUCH NEEDED SERVICES !!! VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, DEDICATED, COMPASSIONATE VETERINARIANS & it's staff. I found on the street soaked & wet pigeon after rainy day. It was cold winter evening. The bird wasn't able to fly. I found a box, managed to place a bird in it & brought it to the Wild Bird Hospital on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, just 5 minutes before it was closing. The Veterinarian allowed me to be present while he does condition assessment. He did administered a pill for parasites prevention, he also noticed right away that all feathers was covered completely in oil damaging repellent protection of the bird & making it easier for feathers to absorb rainy water, explaining to me that's the reason the bird wouldn't be able to fly as it makes the bird too HEAVY to be able to take off. I asked a Veterinarian how do this birds getting their feathers so badly covered in the oil. He answered : "Most likely when birds are walking around under the Street Vendor's Food Carts searching for food". The Veterinarian explained that they will wash the bird with soap a couple of times, maybe more until feathers are getting clean from oil, let it dry & than they will release it back into the Nature. It's so wonderful to know that wild life GETTING HELP from PROFESSIONALS ! Can't THANK THEM ALL ENOUGH !!!

Was just reading an article about migrating birds colliding with tall glass buildings and how good samaritans were taking these injured birds to wbf for rehabilitation and treating their injuries. My hats off to these wonderful people for their selfless dedication in helping these helpless creatures.
