THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY MUCH NEEDED SERVICES !!! VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, DEDICATED, COMPASSIONATE VETERINARIANS & it's staff. I found on the street soaked & wet pigeon after rainy day. It was cold winter evening. The bird wasn't able to fly. I found a box, managed to place a bird in it & brought it to the Wild Bird Hospital on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, just 5 minutes before it was closing. The Veterinarian allowed me to be present while he does condition assessment. He did administered a pill for parasites prevention, he also noticed right away that all feathers was covered completely in oil damaging repellent protection of the bird & making it easier for feathers to absorb rainy water, explaining to me that's the reason the bird wouldn't be able to fly as it makes the bird too HEAVY to be able to take off. I asked a Veterinarian how do this birds getting their feathers so badly covered in the oil. He answered : "Most likely when birds are walking around under the Street Vendor's Food Carts searching for food". The Veterinarian explained that they will wash the bird with soap a couple of times, maybe more until feathers are getting clean from oil, let it dry & than they will release it back into the Nature. It's so wonderful to know that wild life GETTING HELP from PROFESSIONALS ! Can't THANK THEM ALL ENOUGH !!!
