The Westin Grand Vancouver Review

Half the hotel was under renovation but hotel still charges regular rates. Disappointing experience

Good service, nice room and clean. Only complaint would be the elevators can take a while

Great business travel hotel with all the basics and a friendly staff.

The rooms or suites are a really good size and have space to relax or hangout.

The rooftop pool is open year round and the fitness centre is decent enough.

Conviently located next to major shopping area in the city centre. Many large brand stores, department stores, Pacific Centre Mall. Stadiums are not far away and lots place to grab food.

Great hotel within walking distance to Gastown, West End and Yaletown. Rooms were very clean. Only issue was waiting for the elevators.

The hotel is beautiful but my room wasn't ready on time and when they finally gave me the key, housekeeping was still inside. A frustrating start to my vacation. Otherwise, great hotel in a great location.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. It is located on a street lined with several restaurants, grocery stores and places to shop. The staff were very nice and friendly, room service was efficient in terms of cleaning and privacy although they didn't replace our complimentary coffee everyday until we asked. You might want to pack your own soap and toilet paper as they were really low quality. We didn't have any bad experiences here but may try a different place in future for some more excitement.

Incredible service from the staff here. The rooms are spacious and clean. Facilities are well maintained and there are lots of amenities. It's central to downtown Vancouver and most restaurants and event centres are walking distance. The hotel provides umbrellas for use while staying there. Make sure you try the food while you're there even though the dining options surrounding the hotel are amazing.

Hotel elevators are not sufficient for size of hotel resulting in long waits. Rooms are average. Location is good.

Stayed in a suite while here for work for almost two weeks. Nice space with great views. The gym and salt water pool are great too. I also found all the staff really friendly and helpful.

Good location... Nice room and views. Nice hotel layout..... Some front desk personnel are not service oriented.... Room wasn't cleaned for a day.... Service desk said priority is not given to occupied rooms giving the impression existing customers don't count. Let's just say service is lacking for a high end hotel

Love this hotel. Come here each quarter for work. Rooms have been recently renovated, staff is polite and friendly. Great happy hour in the hotel bar. Conveniently located in the center of downtown Vancouver

Location is great and it's clean with decent facilities including an outdoor pool. The rooms are a bit outdated but the main issue is the air conditioning, which basically doesn't work. I had the thermostat set at 17 degrees but at the best, it was coming down to 24, 25. So, just stay away in summer but you should be good for the rest of the year.

I spent the last week at this hotel on business. The room was nice and the staff very friendly.
MY first evening I went down to Hendricks, their local bar restaurant for dinner. Ting, the bartender/server was so fun that the following day after a very long day, I decided to go back. I then met Jamie. Jamie and Ting were so great. I am almost embarrassed to say, from that day forward I looked forward to their good service and fun banter every day after work. I thank you both for helping make a long week in a place without friends and family enjoyable. I hope to back one day :)

Impeccable service. Rooms are spacious and modern. Room service food menu is limited however and could use a refresh.

Very clean room, beautiful furnishings...views from the tiny patio was disappointing. Rooftop and storage for old fridges below. I recommend this hotel though. Good value for the price point.

The customer service is second to none. Everyone I encountered was friendly, engaging,and incredibly attentive. I stayed on the 15th floor in one of the newly renovated Executive Balcony suites and loved it. It's spacious with a large living room and a sectional that folds out into a Queen sized bed. Floor to ceiling windows make for a wonderful view of the city. The King size bed in the bedroom is fantastic. I slept like a baby, it's so comfy and soft. The bathroom has a separate shower with a rainfall shower head and they have a deep and long soaker tub with scorching hot water (which I love). Having coffee out on the balcony is one of my favorite things to do, so having a balcony with table and chairs is awesome. Being located on Robson is great because you are on a street filled with shopping and food options. Being a Marriott Rewards Silver Elite Member gets you early check in and late check-out so I was able to get my room right at 12pm and can check out at 4pm. Im giving the Westin a 4 star rating due to a few minor things: though the suites are renovated, you can tell bits and pieces looked rushed with a low-quality finish. The furniture had noticable wear and tear and only having two public elevators for the hotel bit of a pain and the day I arrived only one was working, so we only had one to use and it would literally take 10 minutes to get the elevator. The room came with robes but they were stained and I didn't feel comfortable wearing them. Other than those minor details, it was a fantastic stay and I would absolutely stay again.

Amazing stay here. As always we receive the best concierge service from friendly and welcoming Westin employees. We stayed in the 'fitness suite' which honestly wasn't fully utilized to it's fullest, but it was a fun idea. Includes a stationary bicycle and a lifefitness treadmill, pretty hefty!

Great cs - upgraded us for free because our stroller didn't fit in the room

Stayed in a recently renovated room. Gorgeous room with really nice amenities. 1 queen bed room, 2 big tvs, beautiful bathroom and shower.

Generally a great venue...some recent issues with room temperature controls and WiFi, both of which will be addressed.

Service is friendly and the location is prime.

Great hotel ! The staff is friendly and gave great recommendations on what to do around town. The room was very nice and a great view of the city. The inside restaurant also has really good food and local beer on tap. Over all great experience!

This hotel ALWAYS gets a 5 star from me! I stay at this hotel over a dozen times a year. Not because it's the most fabulous, with the best amenities, (sigh no SPA) :), but because they have the BEST employees who know me by name and are incredibly accommodating!

It's also perfectly situated in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to anything you may need. Grocery store next door, Pacific Center (mall) is 2 mins walk etc!

The hotel is updated, bright, with clean and comfy rooms. They have an amazing breakfast buffet, which is a nice free touch as a Bonvoy Titanium. Look for Jesse in the restaurant, he's amazing!!

Very nice hotel. Clean and spacious conference rooms. Catering was good but not enough food to go around for some reason. More food was brought out but during the middle of the presentation which was poor timing.

We had a good experience at the Westin. The location is great and the rooms are nicely done. The staff we interacted with were great. There were 2 things that were a problem and kept me from giving a higher review. First, the AC appeared to be shut off for the season making the room unbearably warm overnight. A call to reception gave us an assurance they would get it working but it never turned on. The other challenge is that they have no electric car charging apart from a few standard wall plugs in the garage.

This is a very nice hotel. The check in desk is actually on the second floor which is a little weird and there needs to be better signage indicating that. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel.

Excellent and newly renovated, all-suite boutique hotel in the center of downtown Vancouver and within walking distance to all the attractions, shopping and dining destinations including popular neighborhoods like Yaletown, Gastown and the Stadium District for sports and entertainment. The staff are wonderful and very caring, will do everything they can to make your stay memorable. 100% recommend this hotel for your leisure and business travels as well as larger group bookings. The photo is the view from my suite, stunning!

A great, modern hotel in downtown Vancouver. 5 min walk from the City Centre train station so if you're flying in to the city you don't need a taxi.

Friendly and helpful staff and a convenient location. The rooms are nice and clean but nothing too fancy. I will certainly stay here again in the future.

Great gym and cozy suites. The management has to have a sick removed from their ass though.. If certain people still work there..

Great SPG property. Love the fitness center, sauna, hot tub, steam room and pool. Rooms are great, some even have private balconies. Good service.

Hotel is very nice and the staff are wonderful. I wiuld for sure stay at this hotel again.

Rooms are great but there are not enough elevators in this building. The 2 elevators means you can wait for 10 minutes to get a lift up or down during the day. Im sure it would be even worse if hotel is at capacity or you are staying on a high floor. For the price I will stay elsewhere in the future when in town.

Good location, was here for a hockey game at Roger's Arena. They only had one elevator working, which made for some pretty long waits and packed elevators. Nice place though and desk staff were very sharp and awesome.

The elevator was broken on a weekend when we visited. We were directed to use a small service elevator but disliked going past all the housekeeping, didnt want to be reminded of my own, every i went to our room. The staff was friendly and helped the best they could. Though the room was clean and comfortable we found it small for a suite.

I had Brazilian clients staying here and they loved the hotel.

The rooms we stayed in were quite large compared to what I was expecting. Hotel staff were always courteous and always helped us with directions, advice, taxis, etc.

The elevators are horrible. The algorithm that decides when they go where is truly the worst I ve never seen. Both elevators will move simultaneously and there s always a wait but at least there are TVs while you wait?

This is a pretty good hotel. I had family staying here for three nights and they enjoyed their stay. Very friendly staff and the hotel offered a nice variety of amenities both in the room and around the hotel.
