NCH Wellness Center is offering the MedFit program for 60 days for $60.

It is refundable upon completion or the program.
I have been using the program for the last 5 days. It is enjoyable and highly regarded by the participants I have spoken to.
I finished the original MedFit program and had my fee reimbursed.
I was able to use the facilities 39 times in 60 days. I spent about 4 hours per session and used a variety of equipment.
A lot of hard work. Worth it.

Afterwards I joined the wellness center and continue to use the facility in lieu of having to get a prescription for physical therapy.

I'm not going to outward discount the low reviews, but I did find some of them pretty ridiculous. The renovation is amazing because the equipment is brand new, there's usually no wait for machines or weights, and the premises is clean! This gym is perfect for people with all ranges of fitness and age, because theres something for everyone. To my understanding, most of the trainers have applicable degrees, so they actually know what they're talking about. As a bonus, I have never seen a "chicken legs" walking around here.

The hours are too short, they don't let you use kettle bells (according to them they're unsafe) and they're more concerned about drumming up business for personal trainers then letting people just workout. I enjoyed being a member at Lifetime Fitness and XSport better.

Great facility! Tons of equipment. Friendly and professional trainers. Very reasonable rates. Ask your physician for a referral and get two months for $59 which will be applied to your first month if you sign up.

I ve been too multiple gyms and this is the cleanest one by far! Trainers and staff are kind and helpful. The recent update has really made a difference, a lot of new machines and more space for cardio and lifting. Love this gym!

I would think twice before joining this club. The exercise classes I tried to attend were cancelled, the child care was filled up when I needed it, the swim class that I wanted my child for was never available. Because of this I did not attend the club. The two times I had my child in the child care, the staff did not interact at all with my child. I then put my membership on hold, then my credit card was stolen, and I got a new card and then six months later got a call from their membership audit department telling me I owed them $600.00 for my membership dues.
I told them that I just assumed that I was not longer a member because I did not reinstate my membership. This is not the protocol they told me.
It is all very frustrating.

This is a great facility but with pricey membership dues. My wife and I did a week trial and would love to join for the winter months but the only option was an annual membership. Would like to see short term membership options. Competitive pricing would also be a plus like the Arlington Heights ARC.

This place is pricey, but the amenities and opportunities are impressive. It is possible to get your money's worth if you take advantage of the offerings beyond just the gym floor, such as well equipped and very clean locker room, pool, classes in yoga, stretching, cycling, etc. The hours are flexible enough for me and I like the friendly atmosphere and the fact that all ages can be seen working on improving fitness!
I do find the personal training very expensive. I also feel that some of the equipment is getting dated, and while every effort is made to keep things in good repair, I would like to know when/how they replace things. One basic thing in definite need of replacement, are many of the floor mats. Some of those things are in shreds!
Since writing this review, the center has gone through a complete renovation. All equipment is updated/new. Class options are enhanced, and training options revamped. Enjoy. 3/29/2018

It's a huge modern building that has an area for rehab and any kind of fitness machine you can think of. Lots of classes to choose from
A huge swimming pool, huge jacuzzi and a hot water pool too.
The staff is top notch. Everyone is friendly and the place is clean.
The only downfall is that it is a little pricey...but you get what you pay for here!

Associated with the hospital, but you can join on your own. For those under Dr.'s care, they have a variety of rehab programs. For anyone else, it's a large, well equipped facility with every kind of machine and apparatus, free weights, a great competition-size pool and a decent 1/8th mile indoor track.

This gym could be extraordinary, if it weren't for the trainers. "Matt" literally scolded my wife and I for using one of the three pieces of equipment he was training someone on. It would be helpful to a lot of members if you posted the trainers hours so as to avoid them. My wife and I are retirees and frankly don't want to deal with this kind of nonsense.

Unfortunately the management of the club is incompetent. They view both employees (which I was for over 15 years) and members as completely expendable. They refuse to listen to the staff and members' feedback and opinions, especially when it comes to matters of fees or pay. They want to charge premium fees for classes, yet won't compensate the employees for the training programs that they require in order to charge the premium fees. My recommendation is to stay away. There are other places that will welcome you and not just your money.

This is a great place to work out, relax and unwind. There is a great balance between available equipment and amount of people, which is the state of the art, and so you always find free equipment when you need it. The facilities are great too. It has saunas, a huge hot tab, large showers and all the fresh towels you can use. The staff is very professional, kind, always ready to help and very knowledgeable. It is a bit pricey compared to the average gyms, but this is no average gym and you have to pay for quality.

I'd have to say this place is pretty sub-par for the money. Many times the equipment is out of order/broken and they take an extremely long time to get things fixed. Some equipment they have removed and not replaced, and there isn't enough variety in the types of equipment in the weight room. The management and other personnel are impersonal and treat you as if you're just a number....not very welcoming or friendly at all. The personal trainers work their way around the gym like they own the place and give you the impression that you should get out of their way while they work with their clients. One time I had a PT walk directly between me and the cable machine I was using...I couldn't believe it. Not only was it rude, but if I had lost my grip on the cable he would have felt it in a very unpleasant way. I would have to agree with another poster's comment that the management in this place is incompetent. I would stay away from this place.

If you're are looking for a place to keep your min...

If you're are looking for a place to keep your minds and bodies fit while Jack Frost does his best to keep us all inside during the winter freeze also known as The Arctic Blast, NWC Wellness Center may be just what the doctor ordered. We received a mailer for the Med Fit program at NWC and decided to check it out to see if it might be a good fit for our exercise needs but still fit our checking account and so far, so good. We signed up for the 60 days for $60 plan and have been enjoying the process so far. NWC Wellness Center has just about everything we were hoping to find in a health club while not breaking the bank. They have a lap pool, whirlpool, as well as separate men's and women's saunas and steam rooms. Looking to get your sweat on? They an elevated running track (1/12 mile), plenty of ellipticals, a wide variety of treadmills, stair masters, some contraption called Jacob's Ladder which looks tougher to operate than pronounce as well as a large variety of classes including yoga, pilates, spin classes and aeorobics. Last but not least they have a large variety of fitness stations to work on whatever body part you may need help with and free weights designed to inflict the pain to maximize the gain.
We're still in our 60 trial period but have found it to be just what we need to fight off the cold while keeping up with the fitness.

My one star is specifically for the spa upstairs. Gina, the esthetician, does mediocre work at best. Once I started going somewhere else, I really started to notice how iffy she really was. She should spend less time talking during services and more time focusing on the task at hand. Then there just may be better results that are worth the money you pay.

Also- The front desk staff needs a lesson in customer service and how to treat others with respect. It is not fair to be disrespected and treated like a child when you are coming to relax and have a service done. Such a disappointment. Everything else about The Wellness Center is fantastic but the Reflections Spa upstairs leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Avoid this gym until leadership completely changes...

Avoid this gym until leadership completely changes and new attitudes take hold.

*NOTE:* The pool lanes are not regulation width. The pool is 25 SCY, but each lane is not regulation, thus making it more difficult to swim. The pool is kept extremely warm for water aerobics classes. This makes it difficult to breathe when swimming laps. Members going to classes do not take showers. When the water aerobics classes start, if you are swimming laps, you can taste perfume and powder.

They still cannot figure out a swimming season, triathlon season for planning routine maintenance, holiday vacations and "sessions". They want everything to be in eight week sessions, because that is the what the hospital software "does".

TWC used to be a great place with an outstanding community. The leadership of the hospital and management of TWC have consistently over charged their membership for additional programs (Masters Swimming, Triathlon Training, etc). To them, fitness is all about the profit margin, even if you have purchased a full membership.

I have been a member since 2014 and have been mostly pleased with the WC. I won t give a full five-stars because the lockers in the men s room need repair regularly; another gym I m a member of has staff wiping down the equipment many times a day using a disinfectant and towels (not at the WC); and, when the toiletries went away, none of the members were notified even though you have all our email addresses. The staff is cheerful and helpful, and glad you remodeled to eliminate the annoying basketball and added more equipment.

Love the Wellness Center. There is a very good variety of things to do, regardless of ability level - novice to athlete. Lots of equipment, a large variety of classes, top notch instructors and personal trainers, if that's your thing. 2 pools, hot tub, walking track, Turf floor, and soon to be outdoor area. My only regret is there is not a dedicated yoga space, with heated classes. I'd like that to be expanded.

I registered MEDFIT program. This program has 60 days. I attended 3 times a week as trainer advised me. I had assessment at the beginning. I was sick and didn t attend for last 2 weeks. MEDFIT coordinator Georgia sent me email me about finishing the program. I asked to her about the reassessment scheduling but she didn t return me. And they not accepted my sickness for 2weeks. I paid the money but I didn t received exactly service.
Another problem are the pools. Pools were busy in the mornings. If you don t have the group program in the pool, you can t use the pools.
