This place is awesome! You are not going to find better homemade pastries anywhere in this area, and the coffee is nothing to sneeze at either. They also make good dog biscuits if you have a dog and put water on the sidewalk for pooches that are visiting or walking by. Highly recommend the Mountain Eclair or the Baklava.

Walked into the bakery mainly shopping for fresh bread.."Sorry" said the fellow working at the counter..."we do not bake bread because we are not profitable on bread sales".

They had some Irish soda bread sitting on the counter....did not buy anything....

Great food

Great food
and great people.

Well-Bred is a solid cafe for breakfast and lunch. The Weaverville location specifically has a larger selection than their Asheville counterpart. Pricewise, their prices are a bit higher than other local establishments but the owner and quality of food and service is well worth it in my opinion.

Such a great little place! The baked goods were absolutely beautiful! The coffee is great, and so was our breakfast sandwiches. It must be a local favorite because it was so busy, but the service was still excellent!

Modern bakery off Main Street. Large selection of desserts (very French influenced) and deli offerings. Way overrated, but could understand the hype for a very small town where locals mostly gather.

Well bread is a great place to get a sweet treat! They also have some very delicious lunch and breakfast items, If you are looking for something healthy or vegan don't dispare they have stuff for everyone! The staff dresses like they are in a French Cafe it's very amusing.

We spent about $28 including a 20% tip but when we questioned the extremely small size of the Mociado, which my friend had many times at other coffee places, the guy said rudely "That's what a mociado is sir". The cup felt empty as it was just FOAM.
Quite embarrassing. I had the coconut cake but no fork, when I asked the lady for a fork she said "This is curbside service Sir" so I guess you don't get a fork? we were sitting outside with our masks on and there was no one around us so we felt safe. Well Bred won't be seeing us locals anymore, too many other places around that want our business.

This place was wonderful all around. Great atmosphere and service. Many delicious looking choices. The quiche was wonderful! I often find myself wishing i could go back and visit the area just to come here again!

Well-Bred has been on Main Street for quite some time now, and has become a local favorite. With its nationally ranked small cafe cuisine, there are lots of offerings to choose from. My favorites are the Chai Latte pictured below, as well as the plethora of sweet treats that are baked fresh daily! The pesto panini is another cafe favorite that shouldn t be missed.

I love the bakery items, The Eclairs are so good. The slow service because of under staffing can be troubling. The atmosphere is very nice. The Hours are also a bit confusing to close on a warm summer Spring or fall day when the town of Weaverville is booming is a bit limited for those that mau want to stroll in after eating in one of the restaurants for coffee and dessert. Closing at 7 and 8 pm prohibits this sadly.

Used to be my favorite place in Asheville. They removed my favorite dish from the menu, the sausage strada, because of their kitchen expansion. Guess you do lose quality when a place goes corporate like this one has. Seriously sad.

Customer service is also apparently suffering, as can be seen from the lack of concern in the response of the service counter workers. Used to be that the guy behind the counter knew your order if you were a local and would be friendly in chatting it up with the customers.

We had lunch there yesterday, 9/14/18. My husband is ex military and has a service dog. We completely understand asking to see the service license. BUT, then to question what TYPE of service animal? Seriously? Then the gentleman waiting on us said he doesn t think (key words here) that emotional support dogs are allowed and he s going in the back to check. We were here visiting and from out of town but will be sure on any future visits to stay away from well bred as you don t care for our well bred dog!

Came here on the anniversary of the last time I was here with my bff before she was killed in a crash in 2014. In her memory I got the lemon creme cake to go and I enjoyed the blueberry creme while sipping a yummy chai latte (also her favorite) and reading a book outside. I think it s always busy no matter what day or time of day I go. Everything is delicious though and the line was flowing with multiple people working the counter for orders and ringing up. This wouldn t be my go to for a coffee shop just because it s more busy than cozy, but everything is tasty and I ve met friends in here for planning meetings before so it is conducive for that since usually other people inside are doing the same recommendations are the blueberry creme slice and chai latte

Poor customer service tonight. We went in with plans to get dessert to go but a young man who was working there immediately informed us that the business was closing in a few minutes and the door would be locked. I m sure he got what he wanted when the four of us left without buying anything. That probably was not what the establishment s owner would have wanted however.

2 stars for the food. I was conducting a business meeting at Well-Bred in Weaverville today. My client and I were drinking coffee and eating. We were not just using the wifi. An employee came up to us and told us to be mindful of the lunch rush that would be coming soon and to let other people have our table. We were in the restaurant no longer than 30 minutes by this time and still had coffee and food to finish. Very very unprofessional. I will no longer support a business that pushes customers out.

Absolutely incredible baked goods! Cookies are delicious; have "hooked" many friends on them. Mountain eclair must be seen to be believed and experienced - preferably with a friend as they're huge. They're made with old fashioned real cream and are unique. Winner of Southern Living's "Best Bakery" in the Carolinas award and deserving of more.

A charming bakery with a fine selection of lunch and desert food. It is well decorated inside and out with a few tables on the sidewalk if you wish to eat outside. I will definitely be coming here again!

Great bakery items, but if you're just going for coffee and a cookie they expect you to wait in line with the mass of people ordering breakfast, lunch or dinner. How about a bakery + coffee line on those days (Sunday mornings for instance) when loyal customers just want something from the bakery and a coffee. When the attendant doesn't have a line, they can help the masses. Keep everyone happy that way.

Creative business idea and we know the owner is obviously an incredible entrepreneur.

My first visit here and I would definitely be back... I came here for lunch and was really wowed by the presentation of what was available to eat everything is beautifully displayed looks incredibly fresh and made with care. I had soup and a sandwich and both were excellent absolutely five stars.

They have tremendous salads and sandwiches and the baked goods were over the top. I had a meat salad (two types of chicken, curry and regular) with coleslaw (very light and delicious) and potato salad.

In a recent visit to Asheville, my friend took me to Well-Bred for coffee and cake. What a gorgious, eclectic place with absolutely scrumptious deserts, cookies and treats!

The ONLY negative was trying to figure out what to eat, what to buy for my family later and trying not to overindulge (THAT was hard). We are planning a return trip soon and this will be part of our trip to Asheville each and every time! What a find!

Very friendly atmosphere! We received great service and the food was delicious. It's right in the middle of town and easy walking distance from the park. I'd eat breakfast here everyday if I could!

Superb in house made desserts, delicious locally roasted coffee, yummy lunches, and free places to park. Great cafe environment with wi-if. Considerate, competent staff. Independently owned. Enough reason to move to Weaverville.

Visited here four times during my stay in Asheville which only goes to show how GREAT this bakery is. A short drive from where we were staying and always a delight. From the very friendly staff who immediately greet you as you enter, to the enquire coffee, and then onto the most amazing cakes and cookies I have ever tasted.
Well-Bred Bakery produces food which is quite frankly out of this world, and I hope I get one more opportunity to visit before we leave here.
I suggest you make a visit here whenever you can, and as often as you can.
My recommendations would be the following (yes I had all of these) the coffee roulade, ginger cookies, espresso, chocolate fudge brownie, carrot cake, peanut butter cheesecake, shortbread, lemon roulade and giant eclair.

Awesome! Place across the street was too busy, and we luckily ended up here. Phenomenal food. I had a turkey sandwich on pretzel bread, ton of cheese, so good. Everyone else had various iterations of the chicken salad. Key lime pie for dessert was solid.

We stumbled into the place while walking down Main Street! They have a great selection of baked goods! We decided on the mountain eclair which was fabulous ! We actually took it home and had it as a desert after dinner! We shared it and could not finish it the first night

As in all the past visits - the service, atmosphere and baked goods were great. And choosing one of the four kinds of coffee isn't so bad either! Nice place to meet/take some friends. ... makes for a good surprise and tasty treat to say the least. Can't go wrong with a stop-over at this location - very pleasant indeed. Can't wait till the next excuse to go. ......

I enjoy the bakery very much, but I do have one complaint. The little radio that plays incessant behind the counter. It whines out barely understandable noises that nobody seems to be listening to. Why this noise is playing I have no idea, but it grates on my nerves. I think that they sound either buy a better sound system and pick appropriate music or just turn it off.

We live very nearby this bakery and we have a difficult time staying out of it! Our children absolutely love it (including the healthy food choices). The salads and sandwiches are top quality and fresh. They taste great too. And, the bakery items, well..... like I said, hard to stay away! It is a comfy place and a real joy to visit. If you are in Weaverville, be sure to stop in.

The fresh pastries and desserts, the authentic and warm atmosphere and a truly good cup of coffee... what more could you want? The sandwich and salad options are very satisfying for those looking for something more than a treat.
