We went to this hotel because my daughter is doing an internship there for 6 months. Of course that colors your gaze, but apart from seeing her at work here, there was much more that made me happy. The most important thing for me was the beautiful and especially pleasant room. We stayed for a week and I loved sitting on my balcony with a cup of coffee or something. We did not officially have a river view, but we could still see it well if we looked to the right. The many planes and helicopters (hotel is near airport) I also found an experience that made the location extra special.
Furthermore, the staff was very nice and helpful and the breakfast top. It must be said that I sometimes experience it more extensively, but there was super tasty yogurt (hangop) and lots of fresh fruit that was really nice ripe, clearly freshly baked scrambled eggs and pancakes, while those two dishes in many hotels from a package / tray and finally great coffee. Oh yes and there was "pretty well Dutch" brown bread and tasty butter, from that light-hearted.
Then the view from the rooftop bar: gift!

The location is great, the reception staff and restaurant are very helpful and kind. However, I had a hard time with house keeping. I needed to call the room service every day to remind them to come and make the room. There were days when the cup of coffee got dirty in the room for more than a day.
Besides, there is a sensor in the room that after a few hours all the lights go out automatically.
For a 5 start hotel, I expected much better service.

This hotel has some very strange policies. We were not able to drop a day from a three day reservation after a meeting location changed, making this location less than ideal. Also, they would not accommodate a late check out. The hot water in the spa shower was tepid at best. The mini bar was never restocked during our stay. The restaurant was underwhelming for the cost of the meal. Our room was smaller than others. Even the room service staff commented on it because he was not able to roll the cart into the room. We will not be staying here in the future.

My wife brought me here as a 30th bday getaway for a few days. I was so excited because it's such a beautiful place. We were greeted with smiles & our bags were even brought to our rooms. A very welcoming welcome. Once we arrived to our room (lake view) I was very happy with the looks of it at first. I do have a few complaints unfortunately. Tv was not a smart tv. No tub & the shower was clogged I had to call room service to handle that problem. The fridge was loaded with drinks and liquor but of course nothing is free and the price tag was overpriced. The valet parking isn't complimentary it's $52 a night & you're forced to park there because it's nowhere else to park. But keep in mind nowhere in site is that parking price displayed. Also when we checked out and got home we were charged for drinking beverages out of the mini fridge which we did Not. So the room service drank beverages and we were charged for them.

This hotel overbilled me over $1,200 and it has taken me months to get it back because the managers don't return the phone calls and are not available to speak with me. I even send them an email with my final bill and still have not gotten back to me. I had to dispute through my my bank. The hotel is not what it looks online. Do not be fooled by the website and the pictures.

I stayed July 8 - July 12th while traveling on business and it was by far the best hotel experience I have ever had. The bed was amazing! The room was amazing! The location was amazing! But, the most amazing part of The Watergate Hotel is by far the people! Housekeeping, the lovely women at the front desk, and other staff - Garnett, Ish, Iziz, Max, Alex and Henry, just to name a few, were welcoming, attentive and really went the extra mile to make my stay enjoyable. Mr.Babu Saine, GM, was impeccably dressed, friendly and made it a point to come and ask me about my stay. The excellent service I received made me feel like a pampered movie star every day I was there. I look forward to staying there again!

Our stay at the Watergate was a blast. We were able to get a very reasonable rate. From the moment you walk in the hotel exudes class. The interior decoration and lighting is very cool, and this is continued into the rooms. I'm sure some of the nicer rooms are even better. The bed was very comfy. We don't use the pool but they both looked nice. The gym looked very nice as well. The location is pretty good in relation to Georgetown as well as the National Mall. Ask about their complementary bikes! They have 6 available and they are first come first serve. I imagine you may have to be up fairly early on weekends to snag them, but we had no trouble getting them at 9 on a Monday. As far as I know, our room was not wiretapped.

The five-star being a piece cheapest price, the night view is too good in the evening, whether to keep the old traditions and taste, and so modern facilities, but also friendly, and staff transportation will ride some obscure piece, bus or subway walk Yen is a bit far, but it's as good as a historic hotel.

Amazing hotel that takes you back in time, but with all of the most up to date technologies. Sexy, glamorous decor. Rooms were amazingly comfortable and reminded me of something out of James Bond. The best part is the "control panel" next to your bed that allows you to adjust everything from lights, to climate. Rooms came with Nespresso machine!...Bye bye water downed Keurig coffee.
The rooftop and it's views over the Potomac was by far the best. My only small complaint is that the room only had trail mix for snacks and there was no gift shop/convenient store to buy something else. Would highly recommend!

I decided to swing by the newly redesigned Watergate Hotel with my fiance to see what had been achieved during the renovation. The entrance was a little hidden and without clear signage was someone difficult to find. The aesthetics of the entrance, lobby, and bar were very well executed. The desired effect was achieved and we felt like had walked in to a different and grander era.

We decided to grab a drink a "The Next" whiskey bar. This whiskey selection was solid but lacked an adequate variety of beer. I was a little surprised at how expensive the tab came to be. Two beers weighed in at $20 before tip and I think these high prices will be prohibitively expensive for most. My advice to management would be to advertise the hotel a bit more and implement a well socialized happy hour with reasonable prices and a better beer selection. This will drive more foot traffic in to the bar.

Rooftop bar: Disappointing to say the least. We were there for just over an hour and had to pay $13 for parking. The bar layout was awkward. The layout sucks and there were very narrow walkways that led to dead ends. With tip our two drinks cost $40! They took forever and my spiked hot chocolate was barely warm.

Igloos at The Next Whiskey visited. This was very good. The best was having the speaker to listen to our own sounds. Service was extremely good. The server was attentive and sensible. They were forgiving of our tardiness. It missed mark due to unfriendly vegetarian options. The interior of the igloo was well done with careful consideration of the cold. Warm blankets and throws and a heater. Very good.

This is the worse experience I have ever had in a hotel. I had to wait because the room was not ready by check-in time. We were told are not allowed on the roof top deck but others were. I will never stay here again. The bed is comfortable!

My significant other and I spent a Saturday at The Watergate. The hotel is very nice, clean, and luxurious. We had an unfortunate event, when we walked in on a sizeable roach in our room. We informed the front desk staff and were immediately offered a room change, and a complimentary upgrade for the night. The night manager, who took care of us and whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, was so accommodating and professional. We both recommend a stay at The Watergate, and also hold the Kingbird restaurant, rooftop bar, and whisky lounge in high regard.

This place is a gem. It takes the watergate scandal and makes it cool and funny. Great location, cool and modern room, great views, and over the top service. I loved the funny signs in the elevator, on the key cards, and the complimentary slippers and robes. If you re visiting DC for work or play, stay at this famous spot...you will love it.

A beautiful, modern hotel. Stayed here for business, will be back for pleasure. The updates are great, service is excellent, and location (and value) is so good. Asked the desk for ice after returning from meetings. Went out for dinner Came back to ice, turn down, and lights / shades adjusted. Simple touches like that make the difference.

Beautiful, comfortable hotel. Love the fact that they're self aware (the back of the key cards read "No need to break in" and the pencils say "I stole this from the Watergate Hotel") and my stay was overall a very pleasant one.

We had 2 very nice days in this historical hotel. The spa area was really good! You are close to a metro station and for those who like walking as we do all the monuments are also reachable by walking (maybe for the way back you take the metro). We really can recommend this hotel. It might be a bit more expensive than other hotels but its worth it!

Great hotel and one of the best staff I've ever seen in a of my years of visiting hotels nationwide. They were always happy to help and The Watergate has everything you'd ever need and then some with beautiful views of The Potomac! Would highly recommend to anyone for any occasion.

Excellent stay! From the front desk staff at check in to the doorman retrieving our car when we left, everybody at this hip stylish hotel was cheerful, professional, and efficient. The staff combined with a cool mid mod vibe and big comfortable rooms make this a stellar place at which l look forward to staying again.

Worst high tea I have ever been to. Go to Lady Camilla, go to the Ritz, go to Capital teas and just sample teas out of plastic cups but the service was AWFUL. Cherry blossom globe was a cheap plastic draped over plastic bars. Service was awful, the food trays were premade so the sandwiches were more than a little dry, and one of the desserts might have been a Little Debbie swiss roll...
