The Washington Mayfair Hotel Review

Absolutely awful experience.
Arrived .. no Aircon, very hot inside venue.
Got our bubbles and left for a while. Had to ask for the tea menu - then to be told verbally what teas they have. I said "no I just asked for the tea menu".. waiter was reluctant to get this for me.
Teas turn up - not fresh - tea bag. I've never been to afternoon tea and been served a tea bag.... Tables and chairs very old looking.

Very poor service and food the place looks old and cheap

I stayed in the hotel for 8 days on. My stay was okay. The rooms were cosy and the breakfast was just there. There was really nothing extraordinary for me. I had difficulties operating the TV as it just won't come on. There was a welcome package made up of fruits, water and an alcoholic drink. The cleaners did not clean out the empty plate of fruits throughout my stay. The air-conditioning also malfunctioned.

Visited for a business meeting but due to poor wifi signal in the reception /lobby area, the hotel's hand held card reader didn't work so had to pay cash. Decided not to stay for luncn.

Try not to stay here. Hostel accommodation at hotel prices

Art Deco rule at this establishment. Good customer service.

I went for afternoon tea, it was very average. However the service was great, The hotel has very dated decor, red leather sofas makes look a bit seedy

A chic and stylish hotel located in central London. Very clean and tidy, well furnished and comfortable.

Went for champagne tea afternoon the sandwiches ok but nothing elaborate the cakes were dry but the scones were lovely but not much jam and cream. Their was a dronein noise in the background all the time we was there could not wait to get out but the place was great inside.

Checked in was given room key the room was on third floor it was a disgusting state crack in the mirror paint on the blinds and chips out of the coffee table I complained and was moved not what I expected as I checked out today they were supposed to take 239 pound from my account and took 558 I will never go there again I've just cancelled payment from my bank would rather stay in premier inn

Very nice hotel, clean, new, with helpful staff. Excellent location, The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and look fairly new, perhaps a recent remodel. I loved this place so i will be coming back again.

this is not a 4* food was disgusting. It was dated and needs a good refurb. The only good thing was the location.

Excellent location, spacious room, pricey but value-for-money

Can't beat the location. As central as it gets; public transport, shops, touristic places ........ everything is at a walking distance.
Room size was pretty decent as compared to other options in the vicinity.
No doubt the hotel in general, and the room I got in particular is a bit dated. The free wifi was quite decent. Breakfast was also good.
To sum up, if one is looking for a "modern hotel", this is not the place. However, the overall experience was top end

Staff were polite. However they 'upgraded' us from the double we booked to a twin room, and we had some unwelcome visitors who kept trying to open our door at night, then knocking loudly & running away.

Called reception regarding the last point and they were swiftly spoken to.

We were here for afternoon tea and I have to say it was delicious. There was a good range of sandwiches and lovely cakes
In fact we got a lot more than we expected and couldn't even get through the lot. The staff were really friendly and helpful which made our weekend even more lovely. The dining room was ok- I wouldn't say luxurious. The hotel is a really short walk from green park underground. Would recommend and will definitely return.

UN ABLE TO POST MY REVIEW AS TOO LONG, THERE IS NO WAY OF SHORTENING THE LENGTH OF MY EXPERIENCE - YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP MY DAUGHTER AND MY AWFUL NIGHT AT THIS HOTEL

My room smell like somkes , furniture is old and looked like it was brought from a hard rubbish day, the supervisor and most of the staff are rude, there are wonderful hotels on the same area within the same price range , look elsewhere so you can enjoy London

The location of this hotel is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable enough, but the beds weren't the best. The restaurant in the restaurant was pretty mediocre, especially for breakfast.

Nice afternoon tea. We couldn't finish it. Good selection of sandwhiches cakes and scones. No halal option but fish and vegetarian aplenty.

Lobby was quiet and so lots of space to take a seat, which in my case involved catching up with some work after a meeting. All round nice hotel.

Lovely hotel in great location. Clean and comfortable rooms.

The place is beautiful, close to the bus station and metro station, close to Piccadilly and Covent Garden

Stayed here for 2 nights. Check in was very straight forward. Our room was exceptionally clean. I loved the way the water was placed beside the bed. Breakfast was good. I do however feel there waiting staff could be more attentive to guest. I'll put that down to inexperience staff. I would return here again.

Good venue for a course, nothing special but decent.

The top location is the only things saving this place. The whole building and rooms are so dated. My credit card was also skimmed from behind the reception desk and then the staff put through another unauthorised huge charge (that was lucky caught by my bank)

Very nice hotel. But you should also be on Christmas music because they only play in the Christmas season

Was here for an afternoon tea with the wife and we both enjoyed it very much. Got there a little early, but they looked after ia anyway. Staff were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Would recomend.

Really disappointed by the management/concierge of this hotel. They are harassing people at the enter and the exits of the hotel after midnight. My friend & I were little shocked by the concierge comportement when I came visiting him. After when I exist from the hotel the manager attend to give me a lecture. WTF we paying for a hotel service not to annoying by people.

A lovely hotel in a great location for may attractions in London. A 5 minutes walk from Buckingham Palace. Lovely rooms and great customer service

Unbelievably bad service. Booked afternoon tea from a voucher bought for us for Christmas. Turned up, no record of booking under my name, also gave them name of person who bought voucher and printout of voucher with their name on. Told no booking and asked to leave (the place was almost empty). Asked to speak to restaurant manager, he had a bad attitude and wasn't interested. Asked to see hotel manager, whilst waiting we asked what bookings they did have at the time we had booked for, they said one, it was in the name of the person who bought us the voucher and who's name we'd already given them twice. Hotel manager apologised etc, but by now felt angry and humiliated so left. I doubt money will be refunded for the voucher.

Excellent address. Centralissimo. New rooms and bathrooms with baths completely renovated. The staff is very kind

DO NOT STAY HERE! Before I start I will quantify my comments. I am a global traveller, I have stayed in hotels all over the world. I have stayed in Travelodges, The Savoy, The Hilton Park Lane, Holiday Inns, Bed and Breakfasts Boutique More

The hotel is not well maintained, and room service wasn't that good either giving the price level

Went there for an Afternoon tea: the service is very classic, polite and friendly and the sweets/savory were tasty and enough for two.

We were there visiting friends. There room seemed to be spacious for European standards but they needed to pay extra for cots for their two kids.

Considering that it is in this part of London,rooms are quite spacious. Housekeeping good. Restaurant good . Reception very helpful. Peaceful stay.

Close to the center of Mayfia, there is a food and drink area, and there is an M & S supermarket in front of the hotel, which is convenient. Hotel real rank is 2 stars.

We had an outstanding afternoon tea experience. Excellent food and environment. Friendly staff specially we want to thank Betio for his excellent customer care and service.

Visited briefly for a work meeting. The hotel looked great and staff were very hospitable.

The Washington Mayfair Hotel has an excellent location in regards to central London and an exceptional staff.

This place was terrible, room was filthy (bath was soap scummed and had a dirty rim about it, hair also through bathroom. Management offered a second room this was still the same. Offered a complete refund and advised no charge was made. A week later on return to Australia they charged full amount and then recently only refunded half. Still fighting with them now. Please be advised the photos on the website are not the rooms and management is underhanded. Much better places to stay in Mayfair and London for a far cheaper price. If I could leave no stars I would.

Great rooms, you can't really do anything better than living in Mayfair if you're visiting London and The Washington is great.
