The place is easily reachable from the M4 Motorway, it's appearance is stunning, great parking place, good reception and hospitality. There's an infinite variety of wines that is possible to choose from the menu the prices are not really affordable ( compared with ones in Italy where I am from ) but one must consider the environment and the food which is very gourmet's and stylish. Best place to pass holidays or relax.

Excellent venue for multiple day off-site business events. Friendly staff and nice food and beverages. We came in from the Netherlands for a day for a presentation. Quite a distance from LND Heathrow but that gives it a nice secluded vibe

Still here on our 3rd day which my other half booked for my birthday . It's been a wonderful stay so far. On our first night they kindly gifted us a bottle of champagne and a beautiful Decleor gift set as a birthday present . The staff are very attentive. Our suite is beautiful and spacious. My only slight criticism is that they need a few more vegetarian options on their menu .
Can highly recommend The Vineyard .

We came for afternoon tea. Sandwiches are really good, with the salmon being the best in my opinion but all of them great. Next come the scones which are the best we've ever tried and we have tried a lot of them in the past months. Proper clotted cream and a choice of apricot or strawberry jam makes the experience even better. To finalise, the selection of homemade pastries are amazing. The selection of teas is also very good and the service really attentive. If you add a reasonable price much better than anything you can find in London, you end up with our top afternoon tea experience so far. Thanks! We will come back for sure!

My partner and I went for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my 60th birthday; a wonderful gift bought my daughters.
We were greeted at the reception and taken to our table. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon drinking Assam tea, eating freshly prepared sandwiches, fresh scones and perfectly made cakes.
Both us can recommend The Vineyard for Afternoon Tea. :-))

My only criticism of the Vineyard hotel is that the included breakfasts came in the form of a disappointingly small hamper. But, to their credit, room service provided a more thorough breakfast selection on request, without additional charge. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. The spa was excellent. The kids loved it. The food was extremely good (although I would have liked to have seen a broader menu). The luxury rooms where lovely: spacious and extremely comfortable. My partner left her rings at the hotel and the hotel staff very kindly looked after them and posted them back to us, special delivery. All in all, very pleased with the stay and we would definitely visit again.

Lovely.

The Vineyard is quickly becoming a family favourite. Great location with service to match. As asset for Newbury....

We had a family (three generation) dinner before Christmas - slow service to start with but soon the staff made up for it.

We picked the Vineyard for our first venture out in 4 months since COVID hit. It was our anniversary and we wanted to do something special, my husband chose it as he loves wine. The InsideOut restaurant concept really appealed to us.

I booked directly with the hotel, they explained their new measures clearly and I was happy to go ahead with my booking.

Check in was straight forward and we were soon in our room, the hotel and rooms are a little dated but very well kept. We stayed in a lovely Atrium Room facing the golf course it was very peaceful, there was no noise at all! Room 227!

We had drinks in the bar and dinner in the inside out restaurant, it was perfect, unfortunately we was a very wet day but they had the marquee sides up and it was warm and cosy in side. It doesn t feel like you re in a marquee st all, it s very inviting. The meal was delicious all our dishes were fantastic, can t fault the service they were all so friendly, attentive and helpful. The sommelier and bar staff were brilliant at advising on drinks and mixing drinks to my preference.

I loved the breakfast hamper and additional breakfast we order, having breakfast in room instead of buffet in the restaurant is a nice alternative. Check out was brilliant we were emailed are invoice to check, responded with authorisation to take the payment with our card we registered at checkin we did not need to visit reception on departure.

We really enjoyed our stay, I highly recommend a visit to this hotel. My only regret is I didn t try the spa because I forget it was reopening the day we arrived.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

As a local business owner I often use The Vineyard for meetings and to take customers to lunch. I can genuinely say in the 6 years I have been going there the service has improved consistently to a now outstanding level, with food & wine both impeccable. If quality and service matter above all else to you, then The Vineyard is the place to go.

My husband and I had the most amazing overnight stay and dining experience at the Vineyard Hotel & Spa. This is a must visit for any foodie or wine lover! And easy to get to from London.

The entire experience was faultless! We were pampered and looked after like royalties from the start to the end!

The rooms & location is just stunning, and I would love to come back in the spring/summer to further take advantage of the lovely scenery and private balcony!

The food and the wine was exceptional! We had a tasting menu with a corresponding wine experience (blind tasting) that made the entire evening even more enjoyable! The following day we were given a tour of the wine cellar, which was nothing but impressive!
And we finished our stay with a some relaxing time in the spa. I opted for a lovely facial, whilst my hubby had a relaxing massage. Perfect way to end a perfect stay!

Having driven only a few miles up the road from Poole, The Vineyard was a welcome stop.
Spending 4 nights here with my girlfriend and 3 month old boy was lovely.
We had a nice suite on the ground floor with a small bit of outside space, the room was well proportioned and well equiped.
We ate in 3 out of the 4 nights, the 7 course tasting menu is not to be missed, go with the wine pairing option!
Breakfast was either a choice of continental from a buffet selection or cooked food from the kitchen, both of which was lovely.
The bar menu is more than adequate as eating 7 courses everynight is hard work!
After a hard day of walking around Newbury we decided to have a Spa treatment, the hot stone massage was amazing. Only small gripe was we realised their was different prices for week day to weekend, small thing however over a weekend you have spent more money per night and then they charge you more for the treatment...
The wine selection was second to none, main selection was between Californian wine or French, both outstanding. Funny that the choice in the mini bar was Chilian wine as the rest rest of the hotel their wasnt a Chilian wine in site!
Other than a few small gribes, a lovely hotel.

I am usually here only on business for 1-3 days, but this is my go to place when I am in the area. Very lovely grounds, staff, and accommodations. I find it simple, elegant, and relaxing.

The restaurant is high quality and I ve always thoroughly enjoyed the food/wine selection.

Bar service could use some improvement as I find the interactions there very awkward/robotic. It needs more of a personal touch for my evenings by the fireplace.

Also. I do think they could be a little more generous in their wine pour. Consistently I feel it s been on the conservative side and usually done in 2-3 sips. Good selection nonetheless.

I certainly would return and recommend.

After taking a few days off to catch up the other half decided to surprise me with a spa morning and treatment for us both (she's a keeper).

We were very impressed from beginning to end. Beautiful surroundings inside and out, every member of staff encountered was polite and friendly. Everything you'd want and expect was there/available.

She had arranged for me to have a neck and back massage which was incredible and I can't thank Hayley/Hayleigh? (sorry) enough for the delicate work carried out on my overly knotted back.

We both came out feeling very relaxed (and unknotted). We have stayed and visited a number of spa hotels over the years and we now have a new favourite. Can't wait and already planning our next visit.

Lovely marquee for the inside-out restaurant. Attentive but careful staff took every precaution to keep us safe from infection. Tables were well spaced out. Oh, and the food and wine were excellent and beautifully presented.

A wonderful two day spa break with excellent food and generally great service. The highlights were the impressive wine menu with a fantastic range of Californian reds and a good selection of wines available to try by the glass. Sommelier shared their knowledge and a flight of wine to taste was well put together. Cocktails were superb and the gin menu impressive.

The restaurant food was excellent, we tried both three course and upgraded our included meal for a tasting menu.

We loved the art work around the hotel too.

The downsides and where the hotel could improve:
- service in the bar was not always attentive and difficult to make eye contact or get attention for drinks orders
- spa was very limited, steam room and sauna area basic and not luxury standard, it can also get very noisy by the pool

- there is a turn down service, but they didn t clear away dirty glasses and mugs

Rooms are clean and spacious, the spa and treatments are of a high quality. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is top notch, The wine list, as you'd imagine, is very good and the sommelier was able to recommend the perfect accompaniments for our meal. Would stay again.

Lovely stay for our 30th Anni. Bit disappointing that the main restaurant was closed for a private function. And also our stay didn't coincide with anybody available to take us round the cellars

Took the girlfriend here for a spa day and overnight stay with dinner! Really great experience the food was amazing, the wine was exquisite, the staff were really great and attentive and the rooms were wonderful! Highly recommended! If I had to give a negative it's that the showerhead in our room had rust on it so when you turn it on a small bit of "rust water" comes out (I'm sure it'll fixed soon). But everything else was top notch!! Very happy and even more importantly a VERY HAPPY girlfriend!

Richard and I booked our wedding to be held at the Vineyard as it s always been a special place to us and had visited a few times previous and felt so welcomed by the venue ambiance and team. We also chose the Vineyard as we could hold the ceremony and reception under one roof and new the food was exceptional.
We booked our initial appointment to discuss our wedding with Becky Povey and after leaving this appointment we new we would make our day happen here , once booking the venue 2 years prior to our wedding date we worked along side becky creating our special day , this journey was magical , nothing was to much trouble, exceptional service the whole way , expert professionalism , fantastic talent from all aspects of the involvement in creating our special day , from all team in all areas , my stay prior to wedding was made magical and relaxed by all the team , our wedding day was exceptional, beautiful, magical , fairytale, 120 % Perfection in every aspects of venue , team , food ambiance so perfect just words can t express how overwhelmed we both where and can t thank everyone involved in our day enough .
Our additional stay over was a day never to forget as filled with such happy emotional memories which involved all members of the Vineyard team , I believe it s not the product and materials of a day it s the journey creating the day and the Vineyard team all involved made this very magical and we will hold these beautiful memories in our hearts forever .
We can t recommend the Vineyard enough , all brides and grooms need to book there special day here .
Richard and I can t thank the Vineyard enough for being part of our journey and magical day and thank you all individually .
Guests are still extremely complementary of what an amazing venue / wedding we had .
We will be visiting you all regular for sure and thinking of renewing vows already.
Thank you all from bottom of our hearts

An excellent post-Covid reopening. Former hunting lodge transformed into a wonderful hotel in West Berkshire. The hotel management have done an excellent job of preparing the facilities and dining for Covid compliant social distancing. The outside elegant dining tent is inspired and comfortable. The re-opening menu is smaller than normal but is first class. The extensive (c30,000 bottle) wine collection, the 500+ piece art collection, and the service levels remain at the very high Vineyard standards.
