Excellent food but be prepared to break out ur wallet. Definitely worth it though.
They bounced an employee's paycheck and took tips out of their pay to give to other employees who already got a tip from the party. This place has been here for 30 years and cant afford to pay their employees but can pay someone to walk their dogs. What kind of business doesn't take care of the ones who keep it running?
Everyone on staff is great, the food is amazing, and it's an awesome atmosphere.
Food is always fantastic, service is always friendly, but was a bit slow, busy lunch crowd, expect delays when busy
Food was ok. Service was great. Some meals pricey for what they were. Portions were good. Atmosphere was nothing special.
One of the few upscale restaurants in the area. I would say it's a little pricy for my taste, but they do have good food. The service was very good.
A treasured gem in Youngstown Ohio. Food is fabulous! Service is always friendly and knowledgeable.
This place was amazing the food was excellent service was first class
Food is delicious! My husband and I love going for drinks and appetizers!
Delicious food. Lovely ambience, paintings on the walls by owner's mom are beautiful. Attentive, efficient and friendly waitress made us feel at home.
Friendly staff and very good food. They also have a nice bar and wine selection
Delicious food, very good quality. Beautiful atmosphere. We had the filet and salmon, cooked perfectly
This is such a wonderful restaurant! We had my sister's rehearsal dinner here last Friday and everything from the atmosphere to the service to the dinner was fantastic. This is THE BEST restaurant in our area!!! Thank you for a memorable evening.
Absolutely perfect, all the way around. Always here on special occasions....
Consistently good food and service. Much better wait staff than other restaurants nearby. They do beef particularly well.
Food was excellent! Prices for lunch were a a little higher than average. The noise level was a bit too much. Staff and service we're fine.
Always nice to visit. Can't say anything bad about this place.
Our server, who was also the bartender, was not very knowledgeable about the menu. When we asked any questions, he would tell us about something totally different on the menu. When we were finished, he boxed our food for us. When I opened it the next day, he only boxed the chicken breast. None of the sauce that was left on the plate. I was left with a dry, plain chicken breast.
I haven't experienced such blatant racism since I was child visiting family in Tennessee in the early 60's. I had a 5:30 reservation and arrived a few minutes early. I was ushered to room in the back where I sat alone. There were only few people in the first dining area. My friend(who was not Black)came in and informed the hostess of our reservation. She was seated in the first dining area. THAT WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME TO PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I'm sure this will make their day!
We ate downstairs. It was very good with unique options.
Great outdoor patio. The food was really Great as well. Suggest this place for any special occasion in your life.
The meals were excellent and so tasty. Can't wait to go back
First time eating at the Upstairs and the food and service were great, probably one of the best meals I've had dining out. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.
Food was excellent had the scrod dessert was fantastic the chocolate cake
Very nice place good food good service prices are a little high but for the quality of food it is worth it would recommend
very nice place to go and have a quality meal... don't let the outside of the building deceive you its quite charming inside
Met with friends for lunch. Great atmosphere food was delish!
I love this place! I have never had a bad meal nor bad service. The menu is not overwhelming and on Mondays they have a Mediterranean night for something different and special. This place is small enough to where its comfortable but big enough to accommodate a nice crowd. The bar downstairs has a wonderful selection of wines and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly reccomend this place if you're looking for a place to eat.
Mediocre food and watered down drinks. Not worth the money.
The food here never disappoints and while the service can be spotty sometimes, it hasn't turned us off from coming back. I highly recommend any fish dish that they offer - they simply prepare seafood wonderfully. Their chicken dishes are pretty good as well. I love their scallion rice and their house made desserts are delicious. All in all this is a great place for a great meal!
We had a company Christmas party here. What a wonderful experience. From the venue to the staff to the food. Everything was over the top. Thank you Joe and Tom. Job well done.
Fabulous cuisine, friendly& attentive staff, highly recommended!
Pricey for the quality, it also took a long time for our order to arrive..... atmosphere at the bar was cool on a positive note
The food was excellent and the service was amazing and friendly. Seating is a by challenging. You should definitely make a reservation.
Absolutely fantastic food and service. Highly recommend.
Joe has tasty food as always. Tell Joe that Ed sent you
My boyfriend took me to The Upstairs for an anniversary dinner. When we got there, the male bartender downstairs was very personable and helpful. He told us to look around at the artwork and pick where we would want to sit. I was excited!
Then we went upstairs. We were met by a league of cold service. We did not get to pick where to sit nor did we get to continue to look at the artwork. So we sat down and had two servers, because one was in training. There was nothing special about the service. She did her job, but did not try to talk with us personally and did not offer us warmth. It was a very cold and dry experience.
We looked on the menu and there were not a lot of options; this is normal for an upscale restaurant. But almost every chicken option had seafood in or on it. My boyfriend and I do not like seafood so this was disappointing. We could have asked for it off, but that would have taken away a large portion of the meal for the same price. We both ordered the New York Strip steak. They were ordered at medium-well and mine came out a little more medium. But other than that, the food was okay, just not spectacular for a $25 steak, potatoes, salad, and bread. The house moscato wine was the best part about this place. $4.50/glass and it was delicious!
The biggest complaint that I have about my experience going to the Upstairs is the noise. We were trying to enjoy a quite, romantic evening together and the servers crowded around the bar gossiping. We heard all about a server's tramp stamp and how Chipotle and Panera Bread do not have good service. That was ironic. Also, there is a jukebox on the wall when really I feel like only classical music should be played. I don't want One Direction, Demi Lovato, or any other singer interrupting a special evening with blaring music.
Overall, I was uncomfortable with the experience and did not receive the high class of service as was expected. The food was lacking for the price and if I wanted to go to a bar and hear gossip and loud music, I would have.
