Came to TP for our first vacation as a family of t...

Came to TP for our first vacation as a family of three. It fit the bill for us: we wanted couple time as well as time to spend as a family. We also wanted to see how our one-year old would handle the morning activity/programming for toddlers given that he usually stays at home with me but will start daycare in the fall.

One of the great things about TP is that they have parents' helpers who will essentially babysit your child/children while you and your spouse go to dinner or participate in the evening adult activities. These parents helpers are also staff the children's programming, which was a huge bonus for us. Our little one can be clingy, but seeing a friendly face no doubt helped him with the transition from Mom/Dad to the program. We were worried about a separation-related meltdown or a morning pick-up, but that never occurred because of the depth of experience that the staff has in dealing with children.

So what do you do while the little one is busy? You eat fantastic, buffet style meals, participate in a variety of group activities, head to the lake or pool for some fun, sign up for massage or mani/pedi services, take lessons in archery or sculpting, or just simply relax. There are no TVs in your accomodations, and while there is WiFi, you should try to disconnect from the world and spend some QT as a family unit. I feel like that's part of the TP mission as a family resort, and they definitely deliver.

You will need to have cash on hand for drinks, some activities (the more exciting water offerings and the spa services for example), and to pay your parents' helper at the end of your stay, but you can ultimately budget for how much you want to spend. And it's money well spent, in my opinion.

We will be back, if not next year then in the years to come.

P.S. -- If bugs are not your thing, you'll need to get over that quickly. The accommodations are like summer cottages, and as such, you may see/find your fair share of spiders, mosquitos, and other crawlies. I put this out there as fair warning, but I absolutely hate bugs and did just fine. Bring some insect repellent and reply as needed, and if you need your room debugged to your satisfaction, just call the front desk. They are more then happy to help.

Amazing family camp-style summer vacation in drop-dead-gorgeous Vermont. Everyone in the family gets they vacation they want, with the right mix of family time, kid time, and adult time. Wonderful owners, fantastic food, outstanding kids club, huge array of activities for every age and interest. Couldn't be better.

Tyler Place is a vacation spot for both kids and parents. While my children enjoy camp activities, (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner) my wife and I can spend time with each other and the other guests. They have great farm fresh food and activities for adults.

First off, this is the first review I have ever written for any place, item, etc. I feel compelled to do so because of the experience my family just had at Tyler Place Resort. Our family of 5 (kids 3.5.7) just got back from our week long vacation in Vermont. We have been luck enough to go on several family vacations over the last few years (Disney, south Cal, Beaver creek CO, Atlantis). This vacation was head and shoulders above all others!!!
We were invited to go by close friends of ours and we were on the waiting list for a spot until spring. we had other vacation plans, but cancelled them when we got in (our friends told us it would be worth it). Its hard to get into especially peak summer weeks.
This is a very unique place-Family camp if you will. every day kids go to "camp sessions" from 8:30-1:30 and 5:30-8:30. we were worried it would be like day-care, where the kids are just waiting for the minutes to go by till you picked them up- but it was just the opposite. the kids have a BLAST! energetic counselors with tons of fun activities. they would be waiting at the front door of our cottage at 8:15 am asking when they can go. family time in afternoons was great- time on lake, bike rides, archery, fishing, etc. ok, here is the best part...7 days- that's 21 meals with just you and your spouse. tons of free time all morning, 3 hours at dinner for cocktail hour and dinner. no kid overload. they had a blast, we had a blast. perfect balance of time between kids, spouse, friends.

My family and I went to TP for 10-15 years during my childhood, my last year being the summer after I graduated high school (2010). Every single year, I would look forward to returning .. we would all count down the days starting the second we left. It was the MOST fun place as a kid. I have such incredible memories of banana boating on lake Champlain, biking into st Albens for pizza with my group, playing in the swimming pool, family time mid-day, and most of all, making life-long friendships with the same kids every year. My family and I still keep in touch with many families who we vacationed with yearly. I ve boasted about my experience at TP to my husband for years. As soon as we got pregnant, we both talked about how excited we were to bring our kids to TP someday. I can t wait to share that incredible experience with my own little family. TP is the BEST!!

After returning from our second trip to the Tyler ...

After returning from our second trip to the Tyler Place we are just as much in love with it as the first time. This resort really has something for everyone to enjoy. The picturesque beauty of Lake Champlain is the perfect background for a relaxing vacation or a week full of activity and events that you and your family will remember for a lifetime.

Our three year old daughter was in her glory during group, she enjoyed every activity that was scheduled for her. The only time there were tears was when we told her she had to get in the car to go home! Which if you have a three year old, you know that no tears is relatively impossible. The counselors were warm and loving to both of our children and they received the individual care they needed. Our son, who turned one during our trip, is typically extremely picky about who he goes to, he was jumping into his parent helpers arms by the end of the trip.

The staff at Tyler Place makes the experience, we never encountered one person that didn't go above and beyond for the guests. The staff at Tyler Place are second to none. They really do their best to keep the kids and adults so entertained that you really can't keep your eyes open by the end of the day. The Tyler's really do something right when they are interviewing for their staff, there is not one person we could like of that didn't exceed our expectations.

Probably the most enjoyable part of our stay was the alone time my husband and I were able to enjoy. We both looked at each other at the end of the trip and said, "I remember why I like you." I know that sounds crazy, but being two working parents with crazy schedules, we all can become two ships passing in the night. Tyler Place allows adults to rekindle the love they have for one another. The low stress environment really gave us the opportunity to relax and enjoy each others company.

With all that said, we can't wait until next year!

Fantastic place for families to relax and enjoy the summer. Kids through 10th grade have their own groups and activities most of the day which gives parents the chance to enjoy their own activities with other adults. The food is excellent, and everyone (staff and other guests) are extremely friendly. It is a bit expensive, but if you can afford it, it will be a vacation you will love. The Tyler Place is very popular with about 85% of guests returning each year, so make reservations early and be prepared to be flexible on your dates as many weeks may not be available.

If you're looking for a great family vacation look no further. One thought - you don't have to feed your kids any meals for 7 days. The staff is awesome, the cottages are very laid back and relaxing. We went last year and are heading up again soon this summer. If you're looking for a vacation for the whole family this is it, forget Disney!

Best place ever to vacation with your kids. They've discovered the perfect balance between time with adults and time with your kids. The programs for both adults and kids, even young ones, are excellent. We've been coming for years and still love it.

I can't say enough about this place. It was our first time, but we met a lot of families that go back year after year and now we know why. The Tylers pour their heart and soul into this resort and it shows. The staff is fantastic, the activities are well-planned and the resort itself is beautiful. Just go !

This vacation was the most memorable vacation I have taken. The waterfront, pools, biking, inn, and cottages create the feel of family and fun. I have met so many friends that I still keep in touch with. The memories still stick with me like the scary yet fun zip line. They staff is very fun to hang out with and the food (most of it) is good. Overall as a 15 year old girl, I will always remember this vacation and I will 100% bring my kids here.

The owner of this resort wants my families MEDICAL RECORDS to stay at Tyler Place. That is a complete invasion of my privacy. Apparently the owner has some sort of agenda, since no one can enter the resort with out having just received the measles vaccination. I have cancelled our stay in fear of privacy breaching and measles outbreak from the unnecessary vaccination mandate.
