Fun course, lots of elevation changes, but very spendy. Too pricey for a weekday morning round. Conditions were good, but not great.

We went with one of our buddies who is battling some health issues with his wife and needed to get out of the house. We had a great time and the course was in super shape. Greens were in excellent shape and we didn't have any wait time on any hole. It was a first time at the course for one member in our group and he was very impressed with the layout. What a great day and thanks for finding my wallet!!
This is a big man s course playing from the back tees (7000 plus yds). Very scenic but extremely challenging as some holes required precision drives (like #12,13 & 14). Greens were running pretty fast considering it just rained. Fairways are good but bunkers are a mess due to Covid-19.
Bring lots of balls if you tend to spray it all over. I still think you ll love this challenging course.
This is a great golf course! One of my favorites in the Twin Cities area, great scenic holes, well maintained, and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Premier challenge! We played the Championship 18 today. Mostly long and slightly kinked 200+ blues, 4 500+, good size greens, a few very challenging, some long and wide open, as well as some bends, bunkers, water, alleys and a handful of deep drops, which means carts and downhill speed bumps - unless you like walking a lot of hills. It was a rewarding challenge that left minor room for mistakes. Greens and fairways well kept. We saw a handful of deer. Lots of room for play on the greens. You have to check out this course!
Great course. Narrow, back nine is very tough. Keep it straight and you can score really well. Drainage was terrific, you could hardly tell it has rained so much the last few days. Staff was helpful and fun to chat with. Definitely will be back to play again. Tee boxes were a little beat up from people not replacing divots and a couple of the greens looked like dartboards because of the lack of repairing ballmarks. But the course has plans to fix these items. Wonderful job.
The Summit Golf Club was suggested to us by a golfing buddy who had been there and said it was beautiful. He was correct, this is one beautiful golf course. Very reasonable rates, friendly staff, and it's obvious they take pride in their facilities.
There is quite a mix of challenging and less demanding holes to mix things up.
Well worth the 40-minute drive, we will be back.
Greens were in great shape for so late in the season. Golf course has a number of trees down due to the tornado and straight line winds that came through a month earlier
Great value. Early season conditions solid. Stay below the holes!
Love this track. Playing conditions are always on point. It's hard to call what they have a clubhouse, but the course itself is awesome. Lots of elevation on the back 9 with lots of tricky holes. I'll be back!
Course is in great shape! Views are wonderful! Front 9 is open and forgiving and the Back 9 is a fantastic challenge! Love playing here.
Very scenic and challenging course. Management did an excellent job following up to rectify a rain check issue I had. Very impressed! Thanks again.
Good golf course, fun to play. Great value for the money. Not the Taj Mahal of golf courses but a very nice time.
I had a blast today at this course. The scenery is incredible and the elevation changes on the back nine are spectacular. It s good to take a cart :-)
Even though the greens had been punched recently, they rolled true and quick. The fairways were beautiful. I really appreciate how well the course was maintained. The sand traps were actually fun to hit out of because they were maintained well.
Lots and lots of trees. The finishing hole is spectacular. But honestly, it s hard to figure out which one is the signature hole. Several of those,in my opinion, could ve been.
I highly recommend The Summit in Cannon Falls.
If only people could see how the owners and new management company handle their business. Very unprofessional and un-trust worthy. This golf course is struggling to stay open and it's not a wonder why with Nate Cardin and Sandy Whitworth running it. The Summit and Southern Hills are two golf courses you don't want to support.
It takes a lot of balls to golf here. No really a lot... Great course, good people, and challenging for all levels of play. Plus it is very scenic. I recommend it for anyone who likes a beautiful golf course.
Friendly staff, and has a fun par 3 course to go along with the championship course. Very well priced and is always a good time.
Great course. The contrast between the back 9 and front 9 is amazing. Would definitely go back!
Loved the challenge of this course. The back nine has some intimidating tee shots. The greens were carpet.
Have played hundreds of rounds since the Summit has opened. Used to play 54 or 72 holes a day. Beautiful views, friendly people, the course is always in good shape. I play many courses and this has always been my favorite.
Amazing course, amazing service per usual. In great shape.
Staff members were professional and personable.
The course was in phenomenal shape and the greens were rolling true being this early in the season. Front 9 is pretty straightforward and the back 9 your just trying to keep it in the short stuff!
The Summit is Always a fun test of your game!
This golf course is so much fun. It is not your traditional parkland golf experience like Cannon Golf Club. Conditions are always top notch. Bent grass which is always nice and especially for the price. Nice easy starting hole...then it slowly ramps up with a very difficult closing 6 holes. Nice use of elevation change where there are no (?) truly blind shots. Once you get to 13 you start to really find the challenge and treat this course offers. 13,14 and 15....very tough stretch if this is your first time around the course. 17 and 18 are also a very fun challenge. I am around a 2 handi and if I break 80 here I feel pretty good. Keep it up!
This was a real treat to play. Short trip from the twin cities area. Fantastic layout with beautiful scenic views from almost every tee box. Can be quite challenging of a course but have fun out there! Love the condition of these greens and how well maintained the course is. Nice driving range and large sized putting green. Course also has nine holes that are par 3 s as well as the championship 18. I m for sure coming back.
Course was in excellent condition from the tee boxes to the greens, even the sand traps were good as I managed to visit several. As noted by another reviewer the "clubhouse" is more like a starter's shack with just the basics to eat and be forewarned on Monday there was no beverage cart and there was no drinking water to be found out on the course. It got hot and we got thirsty!
What a cool golf course. The easier front nine still needs some thought into shot selection and conditions were great. Once you get to the fourteenth hole you want to strap in, switch from the Pro V s to the Top Flites, and get ready for this place to smack you around a bit.
Great conditioning, great price, enjoyable afternoon.
Great golf course, definitely worth checking it out!!
The course is gorgeous! It was in great condition when I played there this morning. They have a very friendly staff. Not much of a selection for food, though.
I would recommend playing a few rounds there every year. It's worth the 30 minute or so drive from the metro.
I loved this course. Front 9 is straight forward and in the open area, but some of the holes in the back 9 are in the woods and extremely tough. No. 13 is the signature hole and is stunning. You must be able to hit your drive straight or you will hate those holes. Fairways are nice, rough is not that bad, and greens were nice and true. I think that distance from the cities and the difficulty of the back 9 keeps people away, but they don't know what they're missing. Pace of play was fast since it was not congested. Highly recommend this course.
Held a 28-person tournament on a Monday recently. Staff was AMAZING. Accommodating, friendly, and partnered with us in every way to have a great day. Even worked with us through a storm-delay and ensured we got back on the course and were able to finish our event. The course is well kept, challenging (in a good way), has a variety of holes (open and tight), and dictates you hit all types of shots. Highly recommend Summit for any event or just a casual round. You'll enjoy it top to bottom.
A good course for a fair price. Always gotta come here once a year anyway.
The course has 16 really great holes. The 14th and 15th holes are poorly designed. The front nine is relatively flat and includes a hole built into a small quarry. The back nine has significant elevation changes. Walkers must be able to manage extended up and downhill terrain.
The clubhouse is simply a check in desk and snack grill with no frills.
One of the most unique layouts in the state of MN. A true gold destination!
Great course. The course is in excellent shape and maintained impeccably.
Summit is an interesting course, and probably the most challenging that I play. Kind of a links style from holes 1 through 11. 12 through 18 is where the score is made with lots of elevation changes and just plain trouble everywhere. Course puts money in the course. Not the clubhouse. Always in excellent shape. Worth the drive.
Played on senior rate day. Great value! Course is in great shape. Front nine has nice wide fairways. Back nine is very scenic and challenging. I'd play it again.
Like the golf course, somewhat challenging and a drive from the cities.
Great value. Front 9 is very good from a golf perspective. Back 9 is more scenic with a lot more elevation changes. Hole 13 has about a 200ft drop off the tee. Holes 14 and 15 are terrible designs but I play the course at least twice a year bc of the value. I highly suggest taking a riding cart for the back 9.
Some stupid holes on the back nine. Beautiful scenery. Good prices. The par 3 course is perfect for kids and seniors.
Always in outstanding shape. The fairways are beautiful and the greens run very true. One of the best values in twin cities golf with a short drive.
Hidden gem in Minnesota and not too far from the twin cities. Great layout, with a flatter front 9 and big elevation changes on the back 9. Challenging from the back tees at over 7000 yards. Very well manicured and maintained. Props to the maintenance crew.
Great price and fun course. Pretty much always windy here.
We played the executive 9 and really enjoyed the shorter course on a hot day. The club house is nice and has hot dogs, beverages and bathrooms.
Dont dare walk the back 9 . Nice course for the price
Been coming out here for over 10 years. Worst condition By far it s like they forgot to hire a maintenance crew. Stay away not worth the drive anymore
Price was reasonable, especially for Seniors.
The front nine is fairly open. Back nine has many elevations, narrow and dog legged fairways. Play this course to the 150 markers or you won't see the greens. Rough is very "rough" with too many weeds. Sand traps have not been serviced at all, unplayable. Greens were decent but you need to be below the hole if you want to make a putt. This course needs alot of TLC.
Played early November. Fairways and greens were in pretty good shape but the bunkers were ATROCIOUS. They were so full rocks and overgrown with weeds that they were unplayable - we decided to give ourselves a free drop out of any sand. Inexcusably, these bunkers had clearly not been attended to in a very long time. Not sure if there are plans to redo them in the near future so they let them go, but then don't charge golfers full price.
This course has been consistently in great shape for the past 3 years that I've played it. Their twilight rate is unbeatable and starts at 2 pm which makes this a great option for me being a college student. Would highly recommend playing here!
Absolutely my favorite course. Beautiful scenery, open yet challenging layout, you shouldn't lose many balls until the back 9 (if you're not straight off the tee). Twilight value here is unbeatable.
We did the Executive nine. All but 3 holes were not marked. Their nap was not very accurate.it was a very frustrating outing.
We were going to do the championship course. When we arrived then indicated they paired us up with two other players.
Yet we saw other twosomes go out alone. We will not be back.
Other players beware!
Very disappointed of the course shape and the ethics of this course. They should state the bunkers are unplayable, course hasn't been taken care of at all, besides the place being mowed. The food and alcohol selection is 2 beers , looks like they jisy went to the liquor store to buy and throw in a freezer, and hot dogs. I wouldn't recommend this course at any level right now if you are paying full price. Overall it's possible they are selling or losing the course, sad to see.
The front 9 is very nice and pleasant. Then the back 9 comes into play. Wow! What a challenging course. I am a pretty decent golfer but this course ate 8-10 of my balls. Will definitely be back to try my hand at losing less balls and improving my play.
Such a beautiful event space and phenomenal food! Photographs by Lane and Ave Studio
Great layout, but could use some upkeep - tee boxes, fairways, and greens were pretty chewed up
Went after some rain the previous night, and seemed there was no effort spent in removing the water from the fairway bunkers, fairway and greens. Almost every shot was plugged into the grass.
I have played this course many times over the last few years, and I used to really enjoy the course. Unfortunately they've really let this course go!
The bunkers haven't been tended to all season, among other turf issues.
I've played here since it opened. Good value, particularly for seniors. Interesting layout, challenging for all levels. Ownership has recently turned over operations to a management company, which is NOT an improvement, since they don't appear interested in cleaning the restrooms, being courteous, or maintaining the golf carts. No frills, no signage, yardage markings, GPS, benches or paved cartpaths. Greens superintendent is good, so the overall course conditions, greens and fairways are good.
Love this course . One of the best bang-for-your-buck courses in Minnesota. Difficult irish style front 9 and ELEVATED, heavy wooded back 9. Great stone landscaping all throughout, 100% a must play south of the twin cities. I play this course every year and continue to love the challenge and the great changes they continue to make. The drive in is beautiful and the18th hole is such a perfect end to an always fun round at the Summit.
Absolutely beautiful and challenging course. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is no water on the course and lack of food in the small clubhouse. It is a golf course and the golf experience is 5 stars.
The Summit team went above and beyond! We had 11 golfers and a couple riders on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend and the team at Summit was super accommodating with all my questions and helping us get organized. They made us feel welcomed and were just all-round great to work with. The following week when I realized I had left one of my clubs behind, I called and not only did they have it for me, they had polished it up for me, too!! Awesome service! Well done!
Excellent course. Starts out wide openon the fist two holes and gives you a chance to find your swing, then tightens up on hole#3, rewarding well placed shots. Throughout the restof theround youwill findaverity Fairways are always in nice shapeand the greens are very well taken care of.
Course is in great shape. The back 9 is very scenic. Staff was awesome
Great course. Fairways were in great condition. Challenging layout and great views with alot of elevation.
Make sure your driver is on, or it will be a long day. Great and challenging course. Have fun.
The course is very challenging the back 9 is really tough the only thing that needs work are the bunkers no sand just dirt very fun to play one of my favorite places to go
Excellent course, great condition and fair but tough. Great course to play!
Nicer than most elite courses I ve played recently.. literally couldn t believe how fun the hole set up was. Makes you play but also doesn t break the bank. 10/10 will be coming back here many more times
Awesome place to go golfing with the boys on a nice sunny summer afternoon. Challenging course that s extremely well taken care of with lots of hills in bunkers and other hazards that make it a challenging fun course.
Love this course. Play it quite frequently. Usually in just as good of not better shape than some of the higher priced courses close by. Simple beverages and snacks in the clubhouse but what more do you need. Great course.
Fantastic course, could use a clubhouse to easily put it off the charts.
Perfect for serious golfers as well as amatures. Offers par 3 and championship golf. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. Will return!
Great value for a tough course. Each nine is so different. Front nine is open, affected by wind, a good test. Bring your "straight ball" for ther back nine. Like night and day! Lots of elevation changes, positional golf and a totally different experience. If you have s range finder, bring it@ it will come in handy. About 40 minutes from St. Paul, an easy drive south on 52, turn right on Hwy 19, course entrance is on ther left. Make the drive, you won't be disappointed.
If you want an amazing course with a good clubhouse staff than The Summit GC is the place to go...
Tee boxes for all levels of golfers and all handicaps...
Good course, good price, 3 holes bring down my total scoring, still play here a few times each year.
Had a nice time at a really fun course to play. Beautiful setting and a course that can, at times, be a challenge. The front nine is nicely set on the top of the plateau and the back nine is worked into the valleys. The 13-17th holes are beautifully worked into the landscape and among the most challenging sequence of holes in the area.
The course is in great shape right.
Staff was excellent and the course was in great condition!! Great track to play!!
Summit offers a much different feel from it's HWY 52 counterpart (Cannon Golf Club) and is a very entertaining course. It has the classic straight-forward holes but mixes well with undulating and bending holes. Two great courses in close vicinity.
What a course! This is a gem of a course and is a must play. Scenic, great shape, great greens, and you have to make golf shots to score. Brittany at club house is awesome . Drove from St. Louis Park and buddies from Lino Lakes. It's not that far away and worth it. Awesome views from tee boxes. Thank you to Public Country Club and Summit for teaming up.
Love this course! My favorite course around this area, big wide open fairways, very well maintained. I'm an early morning golfer and everytime I get there, people are out cutting the fairways and always making sure it's great for the day! If you want an open course and a little it of a challenge, I strongly recommend this course!! The back 9 gets a little tricky, but very very very fun!
Hidden gem in MN! Great staff, great value, and a wonderful golf course. Pure old course feel without an ounce of pretentious city attitude. Greens and fairways were exceptional even after a lot of rain.
If you haven't checked out The Summit yet, you're really missing out on a course that reminds us why we love this game so much.
