I love this practice! When I first came to Millbrook Family Eye Care I was living in a temporary situation about 30-40 minutes away. Now, I live a 90-minute drive from there, but I decided to stay with them instead of looking for another doctor because I was so happy with the care I got there. I love that the staff is made up almost entirely of women. Everyone in the office is so friendly, patient, and helpful. I previously had the same eye doctor for over 20 years where I used to live, so it means a lot to me to have found a practice where I feel so at home. They are worth the drive! I highly recommend them!
I absolutely love Dr. Chin and the staff there is remarkable! It is such a family oriented atmosphere, and I have received what I consider the best care!
The clinic provides very friendly service for all ages people. I got glasses for myself, for my son at 5 years old and for my daughter at 2 years old.
The store is very nice , clean and tidy. They accept most insurance.
The staff are always helpful and kind. They make our visits educational and timely
My entire family uses them. Top notch!! Receptionist extremely nice. Drs everyone not one darn complaint. Easy accommodation for appointments. You never feel rushed.. this included the staff who works with the glasses etc. amazing highly recommend
Doctor very informative. Staff always professional and pleasant. Great selection of frames and good advice on matching frames to your face.
This is a wonderful practice due to the caring doctors and warm, friendly and extremely helpful staff. I have been going to for over 10 years. Also, my children, niece, friends . I highly recommend it!
Very nice locally run eyeglass store. Nice waiting room for kids. Great selection of glasses too, but make your appointment early because they book up fast
I have been a patient at Millbrook Family Eye Care for the past 15 years along with my entire family. I will NEVER, EVER step foot in this office again. They are the most unprofessional, extremely rude people I have ever encountered with Dr Peryea at the top of this list. I had ALWAYS had wonderful experiences with the former Dr. Krall and Dr. Brandon. It is so very sad to see what has become of this practice since Dr. Peryea took it over. Shameful!!!!!! (and this place does not even deserve the one star that I gave them, but I have no option)
I wish I could give less than one star. I made a first time appointment for my parents (ages 96 and 88). When we arrived, we were told they were not in the system. No appointment. And the receptionist did not even look at us. No apology. In speaking to others at my folks' senior residence, apparently this happens quite often. It is known there that Millbrook Family Eyecare drops appointments and has rude staff with no accountability whatsoever. Whoever runs the office is thoroughly incompetent - why would I trust them for eyecare? We left and went directly to Eye Appeal in LaGrangeville; they took us right away and were terrific. Do not give Millbrook Family Eyecare any business, they are not worth it. There are plenty of other opticians in the area who are professional and do not abuse their clients.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The doctor was very thorough and explained everything clearly. And the help I received for my new glasses was fabulous. I definitely recommend this practice.
The service hear has been great till they lost my order now I'm the problem cause I can't see again after calling 4 times just to check if my glasses were in I got the run around my order was not ordered I call again after 6 Weeks my glasses are still not in u called at 450 sum how the girl transfford metothe hope well junction office spoke to Debra said this will never happen again still 6 weeks later no glasses said they would be over nighted thanks for ur great customer service again got hung up on in the Millbrook office
Highly recommend this facility. The staff is extremely kind very helpful efficient really care about their patients
I had been a patient for 10 years when owned by Dr. Krall. When Dr. Peryea took over I continued as a patient until recently. Though my eyes have an astigmatism and are hard to get the right prescription it is not impossible. After 4 visits to correct my glasses I requested a call back from Dr. Peryea to talk about the problem. After receiving no call I requested a second time to speak with him, I still received no call. Thinking maybe my request did not reach him due to a clerical oversight I called a third time and a call from him to see what else we could do as the last pair of glasses were very close to what I needed. Again no call back. I then went in personally and picked up my glasses and requested a fourth time to receive a consultation by phone. His receptionist said I will leave your records out for him with another request so he will not miss it. Again much to my dismay, no call. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. On another occasion one of the technicians spoke to me as if I was a child and became visibly angry with me because she had to look for me as I was standing near the front door talking on the cell phone so as not too disturb other customers. " come on David , come on David, lets go NOW" was her response. The receptionist had to apologize to me for her behavior as did the doctor. This would all appear as the Doctor decided my case was too hard with too many repeat visits and wanted to end our doctor patient relationship. A direct call to me to that effect would have been polite and professional.
DONT GO HERE. I had to dig up an old accounts info just to post this review because my experience was so bad. Thats how bad it is, DO NOT GO HERE. Always problems!
First time here and everyone was so welcoming! Great experience !!
I had a similar experience as a poster here with Deborah-- she tried to pressure sell me glasses, and when I said I didn't want them and just wanted to get my prescription, she got irritated. She actually lied to me, telling me my insurance wouldn't "split the coverage" and said if I got my checkup there I also had to buy glasses there. I have done this other places so I know it was BS. She misrepresented what "split the coverage means". This is what the Davis Vision website says about that: 'Can I split my benefits? You must select eyewear within 90 days of receiving an eye examination from a participating provider. Otherwise, your eyewear benefit will not be available until you are eligible for your next eye exam.' Also: 'You may split your benefits by receiving your eye examination, spectacle lenses and a frame or contact lenses on different dates or through different provider locations. To maximize your bene t value we recommend that all services be obtained from a network provider".
The actual eye exam was awesome, 5 stars. My interaction with Deborah was one star. That lady should be fired. Do not buy glasses from her and reward that behavior.
First visit I had to wait a half hour. Today I had to wait forty five minutes. Over booked poorly run office ! There were six other people waiting with me. Not worth the wait or my time. I won't be back.
Not an independent eye doctor... get ready to be pressured into buying glasses from their boutique.
I recently visited Dr. Steven Cohen at Millbrook Family Eyecare for an updated prescription, including a PD, as I needed to purchase specialized glasses for a sport a participate in which required an updated prescription and pupillary distance ("PD"). Generally the experience was fine, the receptionist was polite and helpful, the wait time reasonable, and both the doctor and his assistant were pleasant. I also had the benefit of learning my eyesight had improved to the point where I no longer really need corrective lenses!
Unfortunately, all of this goodwill was lost when the doctor sat me down in what appears to be an affiliated / connected optical boutique (I had mentioned maybe keeping glasses to drive at night). When I told Deborah, whom I believe is the optometrist, that I did not intend to purchase a pair of glasses that day she directed my back to the receptionist to pay for my appointment. I asked Deborah for my PD, which I had told the doctor's assistant I needed during the eye exam and she indicated would be provided, Deborah told me that I would only be provided my PD measurement if I purchased a pair of glasses from them. She also got very aggressive about whether I intended to purchase glasses from somebody else, to which I informed her it was my right as someone who had just gone to an independent eye doctor for an exam and prescription. Deborah told me I could have my prescription, but that it would not include a PD, and only she as the optometrist could give me my PD.
I told the doctor's receptionist that I would refuse to pay for my appointment and prescription unless I was provided the PD measurement I had specifically stated as one of the reasons for the appointment. Low and behold, Deborah provided me with a prescription including a PD. When I asked how she could do so without taking a measurement, she informed me that it was in fact part of the exam and part of the prescription.
Sadly, I will not be going back to Millbrook Family Eye Care, which is unfortunate because most of the experience was quite pleasant.
They don t answer the phone.....ever..... it s really unprofessional. While I was there two people came in complaining of the same thing. They don t call you when your glasses are in, been waiting almost two months.
