We intentionally planned an international trip to start with a positioning flight to NYC so that we could experience the St. Regis. It is extraordinary. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Our accommodations were excellent and the service people we came in contact with were each very helpful and friendly. Three fun things we did on property were the 6pm champagne sabering, sipping a Red Snapper (aka Bloody Mary) in the bar where it was created, and taking a ride in the house car, a brand new Bentley! It is also in a great location within short walking distance to many points of interest in midtown Manhattan. And the frosting on the cake, the St Regis is now part of the Marriott family. We paid for our stay with points.

Iconic hotel with stunning views of Central Park.

Iconic hotel with stunning views of Central Park.
When requesting reservations from your agency, ask them to check the availability of high floors, with a view of the park, I guarantee you will not regret it.
How warm and spacious, with bathtubs and showers with warm water.
Breakfast in American style, hotel does not have buffet.

The interior was lovely. The staff were very helpful and nice. However I have two instances that were disappointing.

We had arrived early and left our luggage with the front desk. When we checked in they had told us they would be sending our bag up shortly. We waited 30 minutes and called regarding our bag and were told they would check on it. We waited another 15 and called back again as we had to get ready for dinner. We waited another 10 and decided to call again and go down and see what was up. The front desk lady was very nice and helped us look around only to have the bellman come off the elevator to say he just delivered it! Second, we thought our checkout was at 2 pm, only to get a call around 1 that we needed to be out 12. If that is the case, we were never specifically told and why were we notified after the fact? I just wouldnt expect small things like that to be an issue for a revered hotel. Also, we ordered room service pizza and holy, did it suck for approx. 15$ USD per slice.

Bed was super comfy, great bathroom (with a tv mirror), and fresh fruit. Great sound proofing as well, we barely heard any noises except for the occasional car outside.

just thought i would make everyones day and let you know that this hotel is so bad that even top mangt at marriot couldnt respond to me so, i have proudly now been able to have four potential guests cancel due to how poorly run this hotel is!! yeah me!!! unless you are a regular or a somebody expect the front desk staff to treat you like dirt!! worst experience ever...classless hotel far from luxury.

A perfect experience from the moment we stepped out of the town car. Every single interaction with staff was top notch. Suite 1911 is a very nice with spacious rooms, great bathrooms and had a nice view for the location. We thoroughly enjoyed the King Cole bar and also had a great experience in the salon. Honestly I can't think of a better stay in any other hotel. Our Butler was just wonderful and was always there at the right time when we needed her!

This hotel never disappoints. The thing that makes them stand out is that they have virtually no staff turnover. I have been coming for years now and have gotten to know the doormen, bellmen and other staff, who now remember me and are always attentive. This kind of attention to detail makes this hotel worth every penny of the price. It is probably worth double the price. It is also nice because it is somewhat of a smaller hotel than some in NYC and you can always get an elevator quickly.

Food was good. Service was a bit tardy and had to go up to the waiter to ask for hot sauce since it was forgotten. Nice decor and overall positive experience. Food was good, but not phenomenal. Had the steak and eggs (poached) for weekend brunch.

In my opinion, this hotel is overrated. The room has too much decoration and the windows are very small (because it's an old building). If you try to impress someone with a $600-$900 per night hotel in NYC, go for it. If you want better value and a bigger room, go for the Westin @ Time Sq. This is just my personal opinion.

But the last minute room due to some unforeseen issues with r last hotel, booked with points and we were upgrade for the 5th Avenue Suite. We got the American breakfast for platinum benefits which we enjoyed very much, everything from the butler, front dusk stuff, to the bellman were great. Make sure you get a ride in the Bentley, which is their house car. You can get a massage during your ride

Stop and go to the bar, read the painting recommended by the receptionist at the front desk, and of course try a bloody Mary. Oh my God. The best time I have ever tasted, it is worth spending such a delicious meal, I will definitely go again.

If you want to spend a godly amount of money for a hotel, this is the hotel you want to do it at. We got upgraded to a suite and everything was perfect. I loved the real flowers, everything was clean and very put together. You have to pay a destination fee of $50 so you can get two tickets to MOMA or MET at Conceirge. You can also get $50 to the bar/food. We got some drinks before heading to dinner. The bed is so comfortable, we are thinking about ordering the bed and pillow from the boutique shop.

Great hotel. Room was beautiful and the butler service is first class. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Bed was very comfortable and the room amenities are modern and high tech.

An amazing experience. Everything about this hotel is phenomenal. Our room was beautiful, with a mix of classic style and modern amenities. Super comfortable and classy. The french press coffee brought to the room was a nice touch. You'll enjoy your stay, and you'll want to come back.
