Friendly bar staff, cheap drinks, metal vibe, best jukebox in Plymouth

Really nice place... Kinda a student pub, but nonetheless great staff, drinks and atmosphere... Some nights open until 4... Can't get any better than that.. definitely five stars

Great atmosphere, the hulk and terminator are both great cocktails and worth popping in for if you're in the area and planning to drink in. They have a basement area too that isn't always open but when it is it's a fantastic spot too.

Quite a boring old school place. The music is also the same as the place, boring. And the bartender is rather rude. At least there's good beer

Student pub which is very dark and needs updating. No sky sports. Drink prices average. Central location and good for pub crawls.

I like the place. The people seem nice there. But the staff are rude and unfriendly. They seem to serve the people they know first. Then wouldn't accept my id because it didn't "look like me". I'm a 34 year old man, I haven't been asked for id for a some time. After arguing for a while they did serve me ... I don't get it. Ruined my night a bit. last time I go there.

Absolutely amazing place love the atmospheare, the first place I went to when I moved to Plymouth the only issue is that one of the bar staff is extremely rude and make the place feel uncomfortable sometimes.

AKA The Squalor. One of the stickiest dives in Plymouth. It's open later than a few other places though.

Get a terminator down your neck to start the night right. You'll easily make new friends that have the same motives as you, juke box so you can get your favourite tunes on!! Brillaint pub in a great location.

Although this place has its charms, it's lack of space makes it always too cramped. The general vibe of this place is that of a dark and dingy dive bar. However it's saving grace is its drink selection is of a reasonable standard.

Friendly staff, warm place to enjoy your drink, good music, always something on one the tv's they have cheap drinks need I say more.

Great pub, plenty of drink choice, lots of cool stuff to look at. We visited on a quiet sunny Friday afternoon and enjoyed sitting by the open windows watching 90's game shows on the tv

This is a lovely friendly pub,staff are brilliant and the prices are very reasonable ,got a good juke box with tastes for everyone,I would have this as my local.

Erudite local where one can discuss the works of Proust.or classic Pre Revolutionary Russian literature.
Formal dress encouraged.

About the only place in Plymouth that is guaranteed to be open at the end of the night for at least a few more hours when everywhere else is closing

Best jukebox in Plymouth and some of the finest bar staff. The drink selection is not as extensive as some bars, but what Scholars does have certainly does the job.

A small pub in comparison to most in the area, drinks are a little expensive, but a great place to spend an evening if you like rock music and don't mind crowds

Cool little place for cheap drinks. Great for students. Funky decor. Only a small place though.

Needs a bit of an update but other than that, classic pub on north hill

Amazingly friendly pub, my first time visiting and got talking to the barman and other customers for hours, missed two trains home as was having so much fun, great service, friendly atmosphere

Smells like sick whenever I go there but it's OK for drinks when you're off your face

Open till 4am every day. Great staff who know their drinks.
A juke box to put on any style of music is situated near the bar so everyone has a chance to hear exactly what they want to.
Great for groups or just to pop in for a last drink before heading home after a night out.
Very chilled atmosphere people from all walks of life are always welcome .

Many a great night had here, definitely more of a student spot but it's great fun.
