This relates to online purchases with The Ski Monster While the gear and their reviews are good, BUYER BEWARE about their return policy. Yes, they will accept your gear back, but you will pay a huge chunk of change to ship it back to them. They do not subsidize or otherwise reimburse return shipping like many of their competitors. I bought two pairs of ski boots to try on that weren t available locally, acknowledging their 90 Day No Hassle return policy. Unfortunately, neither boot worked out. When I went to return them I ended up having to pay $120 to ship them back. I did call them about it but they didn t offer anything, policy is policy read the fine print.
While I want to use smaller independent businesses like them, for purchases like this I will have to utilize their larger competitors in the future like Backcountry.com where my return shipping was a nominal fee.

Considering the potential for bro culture of a ski shop run by a bunch of 20 and 30-year-olds, I continue to be really impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff here. I got boots from them last season, in a really comfortable low pressure environment, and then brought a pair of 12-year-old skis in for some new bindings, thinking they would try to upsell me to new skis, and they didn't even flinch. Just mentioned that if I ever did want to upgrade I could use the same bindings I was buying from them at the time. Some pleasant chit chat about the upcoming ski season in the covid era too. Highly recommend!

Awesome service, these guys definitely go above and beyond.

I'm not local to the shop, but bought a pair of Head skis online and had them at my doorstep in Michigan within two days. After a season and a half on the skis I started having an issue which I thought could be covered under warranty so I called the shop to get their opinion. I spoke with Brady, who was super responsive and agreed about pursuing the issue. Brady took the reigns on coordinating the warranty exchange with Head and all I had to do was slap the shipping label on my skis and drop them off at UPS. My only disappointment is The Ski Monster isn't my local shop, because after sales service like this is what makes a place great.

The Ski Monster is unmatched with their service and advice during buying skis. Brady helped me handle a warranty claim and then spent an hour with me on the phone talking me through my next pair of skis. They genuinely care about helping you have the best experience possible. Highly recommend.

Andrew helped me with finding the right pair of alpine touring boots and installing custom foot beds. He was super knowledgeable and eager to help me get into the right boots. The overall experience was handled professionally and made the boot shopping process a breeze. I'll definitely be back in the future for ski equipment purchases. Thank you, Andrew!!

Awesome experience. Super friendly and helpful staff. Willing to go the extra mile to help their customers. I bought ski bindings here and they mounted them for free. I wanted to buy boots as well but unfortunately they didn't have what I was looking for. They ended up fitting/molding my boots for free anyway even though I bought them somewhere else.

People in businesses of all kinds in Boston (and everywhere for that matter) could learn a lot about service from the folks at The Ski Monster. They know their products ice cold, have reasonable prices, and are passionate about their customers' experiences. People like Eric, Brady, and Joe go above and beyond to make their sometimes-nervous (ME!) customers feel comfortable and to earn repeat business. On top of their retail shop, they have terrific services like waxing/tuning, etc. -- and are some of the nicest people you'll meet. I will not shop / tune my equipment anywhere except The Ski Monster.

My son just brought me a new grandson so I want to buy him a nice ski coat for his birthday. My coat cost about $800 and I am looking for something similar for him. I got to the store a 11 when they opened. There was other person waiting to get his skis serviced. When I came in they told me I needed an appointment. I asked if she could make me one, for now or soon if possible. She said no, I have to look on the web site then make an appointment 24hrs in advance. I am going to buy that coat but not at this store. I can't imagine how they will stay in business sending away customers ready to spend $800.

The most fun I've ever had spending $1,300. After taking a few years off from skiing, this 69 year old New Englander, decided to get back into it, and purchased new boots, skis, bindings and poles. Dylan - one of the owners - provided personalized expertise to custom fit me into the right equipment (Now I just have to do it justice on the slopes). I've been skiing all my life - been to hundreds of ski shops worldwide. None, not even the best out west or in the Alps, compare to The Ski Monster for quality, service, selection, and price. Kudos.

We re brand new snowboarders and we wanted to invest in some quality gear. We scheduled an appointment at the shop and all the employees were super nice and incredibly helpful. First of all, the store is gorgeous and has an amazing selection. Being a first time buyer is daunting and there s always a fear you re going to get cheated for not knowing much about the sport. Neil (Neal?) was helping us out, and he was so knowledgeable. It definitely felt like he was making sure we were comfortable with our gear and was extremely patient in explaining all the functions and details as well as the many reasons to go with different board/binding/boot options. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for gear, especially if you re new to the sport!
